The Hotel was just across from the train station, very convenient for visiting Sonneberg and other towns of South Thueringen. Lauscha is beautiful and famous for glassware. The Hotel was very modern and clean, the buffet breakfast was good, and the staff friendly. It wasn't as easy as I'd hoped to get an evening meal as it had to be booked before 5.30pm each day and I never knew whether I would want it or not as I was meeting up with friends elsewhere. Otherwise: great! Good value, especially for a single.
Good staff and very good restaurant. Tiny bath-room, very noisy room. My rate is 7 but mainly thanks to the staff and food. If I would evaluate just a room then I would rate 5.
Quiet, friendly, straihj-forward The dinner menu consisted of highly complex made-up suggestions. Not much choice to alter/complement. Very limited choice of side dishes - starch only, no veg, no side salad
friendly atmosphere, nice people, good rooms, enjoyable change from all those standard issue business hotels no particular comments
The staff is very accomodating. Food was excellent ! Location was great - just a few minutes to Lauscha for the kugel-markt. Price was very reasonable - I will stay here again.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is very clean and cosy. The room was spacious
Very pleased we stayed at this hotel. The two rooms we booked were very nice. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. When we arrived they informed us that they had an entertainment evening going on with live band. They directed us to another hotel for our evening meal which was very good and reasonable price. When we came back they invited us to stay to the entertainment which we did and we had a really fun evening. As its a castle the rooms were cool but as it was August and hot this was ideal.
The proprietors were wonderful: helpful, friendly and knowlegeable. This hotel is more B & B than hotel in atmosphere and services. Breakfast was a lovely German spread. The rooms are cold and hot water in shower limited if you arrive very late. If you are staying in fall or winter, you would need to layer clothing. However, you are staying in a 600 year old building which wasn't designed for central heating.
The host was the best and close to Lauscha Christmas Glass shopping.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. They did their best to make my stay pleasant. The room was clean and spacious and the breakfast was excellent. The room and the hotel building were very cold. the heating was switched on when I arrived but the whole building had cooled down and I felt cold all night. This needs to be borne in mind by the hotel owners when renting rooms in autumn or winter, because the lack of warmth would deter me from visiting the hotel again.
