The Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the lovely guy at reception. the swimming pool was great, although very few people were using it, just us and one other guy over the four days. The drinks were a bit expensive, and it's a twenty five minute walk from the centre of old town caltigirone, but you can break your journey at the garden bar, which is a great little place on the via maria dei gesu.
the hospitality of the staff it does not provide an iron
The food was excellent. The room and appointments were very good, and Laura graciously helped with parking and our next reservation. Hard to find until you learn to follow the signs for the hospital.
Proximity to old town Caltagirone was good. Hotel is not located near any restaurants.
reception people excellent, kind and courteous Breakfast was till 10.00 am, at 9.30 bacon finished and when we asked the male waiter we were just told 'yes it finished and it is rather late', some service
Breakfast - it was fantastic in its quality and variety The staff who were very nice and helpful, especially the dining room staff The air conditioning which was marvellous as the outside temp reached 45 degrees The ambience of grandeur in the hotel and its furnishings Nothing
Very friendly and helpful receptionist. Nice breakfast.
The staff were very helpful at all times. The hotel dining was acceptable enough but see below. We tried to find a restaurant neerby but failed both times and we were driving. Recomend that you do not ake a car to old town. The charging structure when you were only having a main meal was extorinate as they still charged for 3 course. The pool sides due to its location were covered in green algae. I feel that they should clean the pool more often as a result as my wife and oldest daughter wouldn't use it. Never did find a restaurant withing 5km of hotel. I am sure there were some but I don't know where they were.
The view on Caltagirone was beautiful, rooms big and clean and personnel friendly It`s quite far from the city, so you need a car.
Grand older hotel in the 'new' town, with good/great service and amenities. Stunning views over old town. Difficult place without a car - to get anywhere; public transport: bus- a long walk, train a long way away - need taxis. The hotel restaurant, though charming and with top service has lousy food; there are no other restaurants in walking distance of hotel.
This is a brand new Italian design hotel (just look at the pictures of the rooms). We booked the superior room and it was beautiful and roomy with a tasteful use of local marble, stone and wood. We had a large king size bed, a bathroom with a spacious bath and double wash basins. The Italian breakfast was good, including their own locally grown oranges. For a great dinner at very reasonable prices just ask for directions to rest. 'Sikania' nearby. You can park your car on the streets around the hotel. Comiso has a lovely baroc style historic centre, regretfully the hotel is not in this centre, but a 5 minutes walk from there. I know it's a personal taste but I found the mattresses quite hard.
Fantastic room- very comfortable and well designed. The location is not great, in a new quite ugly area of town - but ok it is not too far from the piazza and old historic centre. The breakfast was ok, nothing special.
good value for the money, close to most important city attraction , just ok
good location to central area. we were able to choose from a list of breakfast items...very nice!! enjoyed our visit with the both owners!! we didn't realize that all rooms at this b & b are below ground level meaning that when you opened the windows you felt like you were in the basement. there was no outdoor space to sit therefore if felt very dark and enclosed. we didn't want to spend too much time in our room even though it was spacious and very clean. a place to sit outside would make this b&b more appealing.
Nice family, good breakfast with local products. The structure is new, comfortable .Parking near the B&B.Excellent ..
Cosy, new, comfortably equipped non-easy english speaking
Friendly and cheerful reception. Pleasant, spacious room. Easy walking distance from the historic centre. Good value home cooked evening meal.
Beautiful B&B ,location perfect, family atmosphere, quiet and spacious rooms.Super breakfast, local products.Room clean and comfortable.
Sightseeing The room has only a window to the hall.
very friendly, family atmosphere, extremely clean and safe
Staying at the Girosa is really staying at the home of a very sweet and accommodating family. The whole family...from young infant to the grand parents. Grandma does the cooking...and it is fabulous. The room was large, the bed comfortable. The Girosa is located very conveniently borth for getting to it and for walking to the major attractions Only complaint is no English channels on the TV were available.
Despite of tour operators with their busses delivering good service. Good breakfast buffet and restaurant a la carte with a daily tourist menu. You should ask this at the reception, in the restaurant. Swimming Pool end of April closed and vicinity not ready to use.
Nice and clean rooms. Personnel at the reception and in the hotel were very friendly. They were able to inform us considering various matters. They helped us in English, instead of Italian. Dinner and breakfast were very good. Swimming pool only opens at 10 a.m. and already closes at 7 p.m.
Nice swimming-pool. Nice bedroom. Modern furniture and equipments. Breakfast well bellow expectations. Well off center - no can do without a car!
Very relaxing.Ideal for family,Clean
The service of the reception and the order.
To be frank, there is not to much to be found that was positive. The place does have great potential as the buildings have been carefully reconstructed and a large swimming pool has been installed. The rooms were clean. The staff was very lax, the breakfast pathetic. One day there was even no bread and juice had to be asked for. As we ate the few brioch available, the visitors having breakfast after us were forced to eat some pre-packed dry toast. The room was underfurnished. There was no table and only 2 chairs while we were with 4 staying in a room for 4. There was more than sufficient place in the room to add a table and 2 more chairs. The staircase leading to the beds on the mezzanine creaked so much that it was impossible to get down without waking up everybody else.
The location, away from traffic but the immersed in nature's sounds. The terrace, overlooking the lawn, pool and onto the wood across the road.
Only the location to the beach. The smell of the gases from poor plumbing was terrible. We got sick from it. When we mentioned it they pretended that they did not know about it. Also, they had no access to a taxi until our third day in order to get out of town back to a bus station. We could not get anywhere, and they kept changing access to excursions to other towns that they advertised. They know that they are the only game in town.
Straight in front of the beach. Hotel room fitted for beachy vacation. We were here in May and the beach season was obviously not started here. So the town made an empty impression and so did the hotel. I think when the season starts it will be ok.. maybe they clean up the town and beaches by that time..
Across the road from the beach, easy walk into town
No atmosphere, no internetfacilities, no English speaking (not even 1 word) staff. on the website they promiss free internet, but the only internet connection is behind the receptiondesk and is not in use for hotel guests.
staff and management very friendly
Excellent position on the promenade with spacious seaview balconies
Because of poor weather didn't see much of the countryside. Spent one beautiful warm day in the valley of the temples, hotel convenient for this.
Overlooking beach, air onditioning Fridge was barely cool
