Great welcome, excellent decor, comfort etc and a great restaurant
It is nicely designed, the setting and bar area is very relaxing. Nice & quiet location. Room confort was not exactly what I have expected (e.g. in order to switch off the lights, you have to get up from your bed!!). Very limited selection of English speaking TV channels. The language skills of the staff is also not sufficient for such a deluxe rated hotel!!
Comfortable, well run, helpful professional staff Car parking not the easiest
The rooms were very good, comfortable and quiet. I would like to stay there again. My husband suffered from backache just the evening before we had to leave to Paris to catch the plane. At the reception I asked a desk clerk if it was possible to stay a little bit longer than check out time. He offered us to keep the room one hour longer than check out time but he also said he would charge the room if we decided to stay longer than the given time. For us, it would had been a great help to have the room for two hours rather than just for one hour. In a five star hotel, which was definitely not overbooked, it should be all right to keep the room a little bit longer because of illness (because of backache it was very painful to sit in the foyer and wait for the taxi).
Interesting decor Delicious lunch Think it would be a good idea to extend the menu, so that lunch and dinner not the same on the same day
we could benifit from an extraordinary promotion from your site...otherwise we find the hotel would on the expensive side even with all what it offers...
Good location and very nice bar. Bistro is a good option if you do not want to walk into the City. Not the cheapest option in Lille (but you do get what you pay for). Traditional room we had was also pretty small.
A very stylish hotel and a beautiful building. Comfortable beds and Clarins products in the bathroom! Breakfast was a fairly small choice considering its a 5*
The large central atrium and general design and style. No
The room was smaller than implied on website
The rooms, hallways, & elevator all smelled of damp/mould/something awful. We thought it may have just been our room at first but we had several friends who reported similar odour problems and they were staying on different floors/locations within the hotel. Also, only one towel was provided for a double bedroom. A request for a second towel for our second night of accomodation went unfulfilled by housekeeping. Again, friends had the same problem with only one bath towel being provided for a double room. The rooms are small but functional and reasonable for the price but for the reasons above I would not recommend this hotel.
basic, good location and value for money Inside of windows/woodwork and skirting borad very dirty. Bed cover a bit grubby, but sheets clean. Can't see why these cant be cleaned, it lets the room down
The location Extremely small room. No parking at all and nearby parking very expensive - would be good for train travellers though.
Good location, good breakfast, comfortable room, reasonable soundproofing The smell from the drains was dreadful in the room and generally in the corridors, was only bearable with bathroom door kept closed and windows left open whilst occupied
Location was fantastic - great for visiting the Christmas markets! Unfortunately you need to pay for lockets to secure your luggage if you're leaving Lille a few hours after check out.
Very conveniently located in town centre
The location: very near the train station!! quite impressive!!
Good situation, helpful staff. Bed was a bit hard - very noisy outside at night - perhaps triple glazing might help?
The bathtub was huge and deep. I was in town for sports and it was nice to be able to take a bath after a long day on the field. The bed was also very fluffy and comfortable. The location was perfect and the staff were all incredibly helpful as well. Room service was very limited and not very good quality. The bar downstairs can get very loud which makes it tough to sleep if you're there over the weekend. The climate control in the room was locked and the set temperature was a bit too high for my tastes. The rooms are also quite small.
Hotel is old and needs to be renovated!!!!
Very little....... the room was clearly only designed to take two beds and would have been cramped at that, it wasvery small. When we booked a 3 bedded room we expected to have a room suitable for such a use The clear misuse use of a 2 bedded room for 3 bed use, this was a mis-representation of what was originally offered, we therefore only stayed one night instead of two. We would not recommend this hotel for these reasons to anyone else
Reasonable value and location Rooms very small, no space to open two sets of luggage in a twin room!
The reception staff as well as the bar staff were friendly & helpful.
When we discussed our concerns re over the quality of services the staff we dealt with were very u.derstanding but in the absence of the manager on the night and again the next morning ,were unable to confirm a refund for the one night of the stay The quality of the room was extremely poor, bed uncomfortable, bathroom poor, room overlooked a rubbish tip. There was no evidence of the good French cooking one hears of as our food wa still frozen solid when it was served We were booked to stay for 3 nights but checked out after one, sadly we could not get away quick enough
visit the town
Very friendly and helpful staff who went out of their way to provide information. I stayed in room 316. Comfortable. However, the shower was really terrible. The thermostat was so bad that I was either frozen or scalded.
City centre location.
Car Park entrance / exit very tight with a large car
clean rooms, quiet for sleeping but rooms were quiet small the breakfast room had 2 coffee machines but only 1 worked so there was a lineup, then the the working one quit working
Asked five times for a tray of coffee making facilities before we actually had one put in our room
great location. large rooms. friendly staff. nice breakfast. assisted with childs additional bed. smelly room and toilet.
Location, old fashion but comfortable It smells cigarette everywhere...
Proximity to the centre, lots of restaurants, Christmas market. Lovely big room. No information given on restaurant opening times. No wash hand basin in the toilet which was separate and around the corner from the bathroom.
Location was excellent, 15 mins walking from Lille Train Station, close to Grand Place, lots of shops and restaurants around. floors and furniture a bit old, it needs renovation works. A bit expensive for what they offer, but I guess you are paying the location.
very nice & comfortable hotel The nearest car park remained closed untill 12 noon on sunday and we were not informed about this
Room was fabulous, overlooking the Grand Place. Well worth the supplement. Room large and bathroom very spacious. The bar is a night club and although music stopped at midnight it could be heard throughout the hotel.
The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable and luxurious. The room was furnished very pleasingly. The staff in the breakfast room were also very warm and charming. The toilet room was not very well ventilated.
It was central for our needs for one overnight stay
Mainly the staff, very welcoming and friendly. Really helped you. Nothing
It was very clean and in the very city centre No lift and a lot of stairs, not really practical for heavy luggage.
central location, nicely renovated, nice "salle de séjour" rooms are rather small, but with modern equipment, air-conditioning is used for heating (which worked fine in the room I had)
The hotel is newly-renovated - very stylishly - and the superior double room that I had was large and comfortable and overlooked the street leading to Place du Rihour. The hotel's location is fantastic - easy walking distance from the main train and local metro stations and to key sights. Generally, the staff were friendly and helpful, especially the young woman on reception and the housekeeper. The only aspect about my stay that I didn't like was the noise made by the delivery/cleaning trucks that started to arrive in the normally pedestrian-only streets between 6 and 7 am.
Small, clean hotel in the centre of the city!!!! In tha bathroom there were now hangers to hang on towels etc ...
Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent location. We stayed in the privileged room no 104. As we investigated next day, it was the only room from the Privileged range on the 1st floor that had ridiculously small bathroom. "Small" is actually a massive understatement - the layout was awkward and one needed to do some gimnastics to pass the sink to get to the toilet. Once in place the sink could be used as a head support... Additionally there was a bad smell from drains in the room. This room 104 shouldn't be classed as Privileged. If we were placed in one of the other Privileged rooms with normal bathroom I would give the room high grade.
friendly and helpfull staff, flexibility of timetable no elevator, no hangers for towels
The rooms on the lower floor can be noisy
Good location, close to Rail Stations, which was essential to me wasn't really easy to find it from the first time. Numbers of buildings in Lille are rarely seen and hotel is situated a bit aside of the street. So the main thing is to find KOOKAI shop and hotel is just on the right next to it.
On arrival the hotel looked strange and when you climbed a set of stairs the reception area was small but the room was very comfortable and quite sizable plus the hotel was well placed for sightseeing, restaurants and shopping
Right in the middle of the city. Perfect for a weekend break!
The hotel rooms are beautiful and the service was good
Room and building were nice as were the staff. The location is excellent. The bathroom of our room (201) was very poor - the tiles were dirty and many in the shower area were missing grouting. Not 4 star, more like 2 star. A good clean, a new shower head and re-grouting of the tiles would have made all the difference.
Perfect location in the centre of Lille with easy access to shopping car parks, and restauarants. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. Room spacious and light with two french windows giving fantastic views into the Opera House square. Our Privelage Room suffered from lack of coat hanging space and clothes storage. This was acceptable for a short 3 day stay.
The decor of the room Because of the age of the building, one can hear every footstep above and next door; that is disturbing.
location rooms need to be refurbished
frendly staff nice and central for shops no
very confortable and quiet room. pleasant staff at reception.
We liked the central position of the hotel, the rooms were well soundproofed and the beds were very comfortable. The provision of tea/coffee making facilities in the room was unusual for Europe but were much appreciated. We were also able to access BBC television. The bathroom was well equipped but very cramped.
Arriving on a wet evening the hotels car parking service was an excellent idea.
the facility and room are clean and gorgeous. The staff was extra helpful with travel issues. The room and bath were great value.
The fresh new approach to furnishings and layout
location. tea/coffee facilities poor
We had a wonderful stay, hotel close to centre, staff friendly, breakfast excellent, room comfortable. A pity that only paper cups are provided for tea/coffee facilities in the room.
Room size was very nice. I enjoyed the Nepresso coffee in the room.
we have stayed here quite a few times, however the rooms are now looking worse for wear, the skirting boards in the room were dirty and room was so hot it was impossible to sleep without the window open have the traffic noise
The location of the hotel, the clean spacious room, the excellent shower room, the tea and coffee making facilities. The efficient, helpful and friendly staff.
Well located for restaurants, etc.
very good in all aspects. Buffet breakfast to expensive.
Central position Expensive breakfast
The location was excellent and the breakfasts were good value when compared with buying breakfast at local cafes. The staff were very pleasant and always cheerful at the reception desk. The shower was very poor- the bathroom looked swish but the shower splash went all over the floor which meant that we had to use a bath towel to\mop up as well as the bath mat. Very lumpy pillows.
friendly staff, central location
The character of the hotel and its location. The stair carpets were pretty seedy. We would have preferred a room on the front rather than one with a view of the admittedly elegant fire-escape
Very central. Within walking distance of several sights and a wide selection of good restaurants Bed was a bit uncomfortable
very helpful reception staff. Small but very clean and comfortable rooms
Fantastic location. Old world charm but with just enough modernity
The location of this hotel is fantastic, perfectly placed for shopping, sightseeing and both railway stations.
The owners of this hotel have hone through great lengths to restore their property, but it remains an old building. This has also its charms: the elevator in itself is almost worth the visit, the doors of the rooms are of a lovely old type etc. But... rooms are rather small with pretty small beds, there was a strong odour from the shower once the cover of the drain was removed etc. Want a flasback to the house of your grandparents, this is the place! And of course location in regards to the city center could not be better, parking within 150 mtrs.
The staff were very helpful and welcoming. It was in a central location to the old city of Lille - easy access from trains aswell. Quite acceptable for a nice weekend break with clean room and showers. The hallway is very noisy along with the stairs - all wooden with carpet. The staff start at 6am and talk in the hallways which wakes you up.Suggest coffee & tea making facilities in the room and if possible bar facility in the lobby as it lends itself to this.
Helpfulness and friendliness of staff
Excellent breakfast, great view of the church from the room, majority of staff friendly The shower/toilet which are placed in a kind of partition rather than a separate room - giving minimal privacy
Do not accept a room above fifth floor - the lift does not go beyond five
the helpfulness of the staff, the cleanliness. no
good location, friendly staff, in need of mordernisation.
Close to the centre of town and train station Dirty- crap , 50 yeaar old blankets
Went to the Braderie in Lille It was pretty expensive for a small one bed room
poor access to Wi-Fi network in the room
Very basic and dated room at a premium price.
poor accomodations and style, far too much expensive for the premise
The breakfast was good. Opening up the bed and discovering that the sheets were not clean is not the most exciting thing
Location is great, can't beat that.
Convenient location for the centre of town. Buffet breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and helpful
very central, clean and good value for money the light in the room could be of a more cosy kind
its location room too small and uncomfortable
Got a good night's sleep Accommodation was very basic indeed
The price of the room was very cheap, good location and had free WiFi
Good location, friendly staff, big rooms, nice tv, wifi in the corridor - everything that you need for several nights' stay if wifi was in the room it would be better..but at least it's available in general) the sheets were sort of old and the cover on the bed wasn't that clean
simple check-in - nice breakfast could not turn off the radiator heating in the bedroom.
It's clean, close to the train station, 5 minutes away from the city centre. It's simple and good.
Very close to the train station, and a walking distance from the old sity. Simple and nice.
The room was small but adequate for one night and it was clean. The breakfast was satisfactory. I would recommend it if cost and proximity to the train stations is most important.
Absolutely loved our stay in this hotel. It was very warm, clean with a comfy bed and a great shower. Would happily book up again as cant fault our experience. nothing unpleasant at all - we had a fantastic trip and stay in this hotel.
Excellent location, literally a stone's throw from the Lille mainland station and only 500 metres from the Lille Europe. Could not have asked for a more central hotel. Room was clean and as described - let's be honest, you are not going to be spending much time in the room in Lille!! Staff were very helpful and spoke great English.
Excellent location and fair price. Overall a good solution for a weekend in Lille
the hotel is perfect situated for people who want to visit Lille by train and want to go shopping and walking in the centre of the town!
The location was amazing. Staff very accommodating and the hotel was of a good standard. Brilliant value for money. Parking was rubbish. Cost us 28 euros for two days as we had to park in the public car park. I suggest leaving the car at home.
Good size room, welcoming Toilet was broken away from wall (an unnerving experience!), No Wi-Fi
the friendleness, the cleanliness, the location we would have liked kettle with tea/coffee in room
Very convenient location between Eurostar station and city centre/Vieille Ville. Pleasant, friendly, helpful staff.
open all hours no problem getting late at night no
Hotel in very good location breakfast is very small for its price, is better go eat outside
