The staff were all very helpful and friendly, and most spoke english. The whole hotel was extremely clean. There was tea and coffee making facilities which was a big plus for me. Could do with air conditioning as it was too warm, and so difficult to sleep
Service at breakfast did not keep pace with demand
The view near the ocean, clean, nice room. I recommand it to everyone. hard to get to, a gps obligatory
The central location was excellent and the staff was very helpfull in obtaining a phone number in the states when I had a problem with an ATM card.
Rooms good size and well laid out, bed comfortable. Great shower room. Access to and from garage quite difficult, also disliked the fact that one had to go through a hospital to access the beach and promenade.
Beautiful location and lovely views from our room. Very comfortable and spacious bedroom. Excellent breakfast. Very warm and stuffy in hallways and stairwells. Also it was not clear how we could access the beach directly from the hotel.
The room was really nice with its mezzanine and the terrace. It was really big for two peoples. People at reception was also really kind. Furthermore, Granville is a nice city is a nice and calm city to see and a good place to stop. It is at only 40 km from the Mont Saint Michel. The parking was really small and it is very dangerous to take a place inside the parking rather than outside.
Very comfortable and clean rooms. Location on seacoast very good, close to sights and parking for travelers. Helpful staff. A good value. Did not have ice!
The location and the view. It was too hot in the rooms. We had to sleep with window open, with the noise from the street.
The Hotel quality seemed above it's star rating. The view from the balcony was extremely good. Breakfast was only available at the high price of 12 euros. First day OK, but second day very slow service and lack of many items. Matter resolved by deletion of charge from bill. The sign to the hotel (on the hill) was not legible due to overgrown plants!
The location was excellent for an early morning ferry.
Hotel staff were friendly and informative, and the breakfasts were great! We liked the position of the hotel overlooking the harbour, and the views from the terrace and restaurant. We paid extra for a room with a view of the sea and the harbour, and enjoyed the view very much. The room size was small and felt cramped, despite clever use of a gallery space for two single beds upstairs. The room decor was just awful - a dingy brown colour with dull green paintwork - very depressing. The 'balcony' was laughable - standing room only! We were looking forward to a lovely dinner in the restaurant and 'treated ourselves' to the 'Assiette des Fruits de Mer', only to find a poor selection of the cheapest shellfish topped with half a crab (undressed) - we thought 50 euros was a lot to pay for a load of winkles and whelks, with an inedible crab half on top. So disappointing!
It's on the harbour: simply fantastic!! I really loved it!
It is better than many Ibis hotels in a good location adjacent to the marina but a walk into town. There are some attractive rooms with port view available. Nice terrace and good restaurant.
location was great , service friendly an helpful. Room needed renovation.
decent breakfast buffet; friendly and helpful staff; good beds; relatively low price; free WiFi certainly does not deserve 3 stars; noisy bar (at night) opposite the hotel; rooms have bad soundproofing; worn-out carpet; uncomfortable washbowl (position of the tablet right above); WiFi password protection mechanism (page redirect) does not work with all mobile devices
Fantastic location opposite beach, central, lovely town so much to see and do '' historical part of town fab '' Lots of places to eat Parking free alongside Hotel if you have a Disability Badge otherwise payment until 7pm then free until 8am Hotel should provide tea and coffee facilities for arrival Essential after travelling does not cost a lot taking into consideration cost of room - Room shabby needed redecorating Do not eat in restaurant attached to Hotel food awful
good value , central location . lousy internet
The location was great, within footsteps to the ocean & beach. Staff was friendly & helpful. When we were put into a bad room, they switched English as well. Nice tiled bathrooms with great shower pressure. Pleasant lobby & flat screen was nice. Windows opened onto the street which was great. The rooms were very shabby. The first room we had was pathetic. There were multiple rips/ holes in the bedding. They looked about as old as the hotel! Really, really, pathetic. After seeing the housekeeping, I was not surprised at all.
breakfast hotel closed and locked on arrival, waited 3 hours for staff to turn up.
Friendliness of the prioprieter and the excellent selection of the breakfast A feint unpleasant smell of drains on entering the room and during the night
Easy to find and park if you travel with car. Interior decoration was a bit out of date.
For the price it was good value Would prefer if the television was a little lower on the wall.Very uncomfortable looking upwards to view the screen.
Easy to find, room clean, beds comfy, very quiet, inexpensive The carpet in the dining room was absolutely filthy, and spoilt the appearance of the room. There were also a number of flies in the room, which were settling on the desserts which were on an uncovered display.
The location met the needs of our cycling holiday itinerary. Ease of booking. Friendliness and helpfulness of staff on arrival. Breakfast. Value for money.
The hotel was clean, the restaurant was good value and the staff were very friendly. The room was too small and quite basic.
Good price , great location for town and clean Shower braket broken, but not a major issue
Clean and good value for money, with superb restaurant and easy beach location
We had five star service with the pleasure of a much more intimate setting than a big hotel. We will make this the place to stay every year. One would even feel very 'at home' and with friends if one were travelling alone. A beautiful hotel that can be well recommended.
Pretty view from the restaurant at breakfast. There was no check in. We arrived, gave our names, were given the key and pointed to our room. The restaurant is on the 3rd floor. We were on the second and the overhead noise was un acceptable, as was the banging of the room doors due to the cheap and poorly adjusted door closers (sorry but it's my job)
The hotel is very kindly to pets. The breakfast was very expensive.
This hotel really lives up to it's promise: rather big rooms with all comfort found mostly only in 4 stars hotels, seaview (if you book such a room ofcourse), bath, wifi, hairdryer, flathscreen tv, ... You really step out of the hotel over the parking on the sandbeach. Also their seafood restaurant is absolutely top. Well, it's hard to find something negative ... maybe that out of environmental considerations they provide limited amounts of soap ... and there's no airco in the room ... but then again, you've got a very big window seaside that can open so ... I'm just trying hard to find something negative, and as you see, it's very hard to find, a real positive surprise.
The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Although the hotel is a bit older, it was very clean and comfortable. The restaurant was very good as well.
Friendly staff, convenient location, good food in the hotel.
the staff is very frendly, and the food is good, very clean and i recomended
Friendly staff, great location, good restaurant
honest staff, internet facilities, restaurant, free parking
good for 2 star hotel, rooms clean and tidy
Location and food There was no shower curtain
Plenty of free parking spots in front of hotel and in easy reach of the coast.
The reception and garden terrace areas were lovely and the staff were very friendly and accomodating. The room decor and bedding although clean was very dated and I was a little disappointed given the price. I noticed that some rooms have been refurbished but I did not have the pleasure of staying in one of these rooms. Once all rooms are done I would certainly recommend Cositel
Convenient to D-Day Beaches and Mont St. Michel
The staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful.Gave us information on how to get to various places of interest. Everywhere was clean and well maintained with an overall impression of calmness. Will definitely visit the Hotel again.
Olivier, the host, was very friendly & helpful about giving pointers about things to see & do in the area. The breakfast breads were especially good, and our room was quiet. The shower was one of the best we used in France this trip. I highly recommend La Pocatiere!
Room arrangement for a family of 5 was good, staff were helpful and friendly. No breakfasts allowed in room, but we could have used the tables in the dining room if we had wanted to.
A very nice family-owned hotel. Very friendly and helpful landlord and landlady. Very clean and tidy rooms. Excellent value for money. My husband and I stayed for three nights and had a large room on the top floor with separate showerroom and toilet. Only 5 minutes walk to town centre. Hotel has own carpark - free of charge.
The couple running this hotel were extremly pleasant helpful and very friendly, Highly recommended
We could here the running water from the sink and shower in the neighbouring room and they could here our shower too to the point that they complained that we were making excessive noise. I expect the walls between the rooms require better sound insulation.
Easy to find, clean and tidy, food good, well situated for touring, owners very helpful and accomodating.
The room was clean and the hotel located not so loud place. The personal was very kind.
Country location. Excellent for complete rest. Very peaceful. No shower in the ensuite, no Wifi and insufficient staff (practically one-man show). Untidy garden. Looks rundown. Breakfast disappointing, only available from 9h. Bar closed.
Bi-lingual host, fine restaurant, homely feel Decor a little dated
Beautiful location, excellent food, welcoming hosts
Excellent restaurant. Very comfortable bedrooms. Beautiful location. Very helpful and friendly host. Very warm welcome
Food pulic rooms good Room was not up to modern standards I.E. no chair or tv
very friendly welcome .Very nice tray of tea !Excellent evening meal The only thing is it took us a lot longer than 45 minutes to get to Cherbourg. Suggest more like 75,
Charming host and brilliant food made our stay very enjoyable. Very extensive menu
Lovely hotel. Beautiful food. Very attentive staff.
Close to beach
Very friendly staff, good positioning of the hotel, absolutely quiet in the morning! Could have a little fridge + other choice of breakfast (includes only sweet things)
Although the Host did not speak English, he was MOST helpful and obliging. Hid wife spoke some English and she was very helpful as well.
mainly the position of the hotel very close to the sea front and the centre of the town no lift to the 3rd floor
Our stay at this hotel was like home from home. We were made very welcome by the owners ,they made our stay very enjoyable. We would return to this hotel again.
The Manoir de La Foulerie is a charming and stylish place to stay. The owners are friendly and helpful and the ambience is excellent. There is also a restaurant with genuine home cooking and a bar, unusual in B&Bs of this type, but in common with other French Hotels and B&Bs there is no hospitality tray to allow guests to brew up a cup of tea or coffee, as would found in most comparable British establishments. Highly recommended as a place of great tranquillity. A good place to chill out.
The location is only excellent if you want a quiet place in the countryside. If you're after nightlife, forget it! Lovely lake, nice rooms and the best place we stayed on our trip round Normandy. Loved it.
Beautiful Manoir with lakeside setting, Lovely food available at creperie adjacent to Manoir. Very relaxing break and friendly people both hosts & guests.
While the location of the hotel is remote the surrounding countryside and grounds are splendid. The Hotel itself is almost medieval with lots of character. We will certainly go back
The setting was beautiful, staying in a Chateau was magical, breakfast excellent! The Creperie, the chef and the friendly dog all excelled as well! Not being able to check in until 5 pm
staff were wonderful and freindly - will definately book again
The manor is bit off the beaten track but if old and full of family history is you, then what a wonderful find - huge fireplaces, winding stone staircase and a four poster bed, to name but a few. Soft furnishings could do with being updated
The experience of staying in an old manor house. Very adequate creperie/restaurant. Friendly staff, nice surroundings. Economical 2 days. Did not realise it was an activity centre for youngsters - could be a bit noisy.
The unique experience of living in a Normandy Manor house. A friendly host and the extremely pleasant atmosphere at the breakfast table (fire crackling in the large Norman fireplace). The WiFi connection did dot function, but steps were taken to remedy
Traditional decor with lovely stone fireplaces. Very nice owners. Big garden to explore plus lovely beaches approx 20 minutes by car. Bar and restaurant available on site. I would definitely go again.
