The Chateau was fantastic. Beautiful rooms and grounds, lovely friendly staff. Very relaxing and a short walk to a nice little town. The meals were also excellent and great value for money. Highly recommended, you must stay here!
Breakfasts were excellent Not particularly
Lovely hotel, but the internet and the hotel info stated the evening meal was 35 Euro, to include 4 wines. We were charged 12 Euro each for the wine and 2 Euro for a sachet of coffee. It was great food, but we left feeling very cheated.
What a lovely little chateau. Food was excellent value - 5 courses with a different wine with each course. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Wish we could have stayed for longer. Would recommend this place to anyone.
The relaxed and friendly atmosphere
Beautiful house in a lovely location. The staff took a personal interest in making us welcome and looking after our needs. We were on the top floor. Access was via a very interesting staircase which might prove to be a challenge for some folk. The hotel plans to install a new access later this year so this issue will hopefully soon be resolved.
This chateau is absolutely marvelous! We were warmly welcomed by the owners who made our stay very pleasant and personal. The rooms are nice and spacious. I can especially recommend you the diners. There’s no need to go out for a meal since this chateau serves amazing 5-course meals. This chateau is highly recommendable for a few days of relaxing vacation!
the surprise menu where you ate what he chef prepared was excellent
Friendly welcoming owner. Very welcome cup of tea on arrival. Beautiful room in a fascinating chateau. Lovely well maintained grounds.Unfortunately due to illness we had to leave after only one night.
Needs money throwing at it but that said a nice experience
I have nothing to say ; all was brilliant ; I hope I'll come back sometime
Great ambience, lovely decor, peaceful surroundings No control over other guests - had to complain at 2.15 a.m. about a very noisy party going on in the lounge directly below.
What can I say? it s a castle right out of a fairy tale. I can't wait to go back..
Not interested in golf this trip, but liked the surroundings The "Chateau" was not quite up to the pictures on the Internet.
The hotel was rececently renovated and rooms/decor attractive. Staff friendly and accomodating.Restaurant is really superb- an experience not to be missed. Very pleased overall - would return if in the area again No room service - not good for a 4 star hotel
We had a lovely stay in the hotel. It is really beautiful and the staff is excellent. The hotel is expensive and the rooms are nice, but not for that money. We had a promotion, so for us it was fine.
No Wi-Fi. It is far away from restaurants and facilities and charged quite a lot for such location. We spent more than an hour to find a place to eat. The hotel restaurant is very expensive and not operating on Sunday evening.
Beautiful setting and reception staff were lovely. Restuarant over priced and too fussy, we eat out a lot but this is way over the top. Waiter also very stuffy and quite rude at times
Despite our bad experience with the room, the settings of the castle are beautiful and quiet, although a little far off from the Loire castles. Expect to drive at least 1 hour to most of the castles. There is a fancy and expensive "restaurant gastronomique" and a brasserie, where you can eat on the terrace for very reasonable prices. For breakfast, we had to beg a bit to get a coffee and a croissant in the brasserie but we got it; the other option is to pay 20 Euros for a not very remarkable breakfast buffet. Bathrooms were much better than the rooms. Careful - some of the Classic Rooms in the Castle (2nd floor, e.g. 203) are clearly substandard for a 4 star- and with prices on this site lower than the regular price - guess who gets them. We had a tiny little room with an even tinier bullseye window that opened only half way and should have been replaced years back. Result: No air, 29 degrees Celsius in the room at midnight with the window open, while outside it was a fresh night around 18 degrees. We slept very little, and had to fight to be moved into another room for the remaining 2 nights. Second room was OK. Still, for a 4 star place, I would have expected the castle to be much better renovated and much cleaner, like others we've seen in France. A bit shabby in some details.
People were very friendly Breakfast is typical french, could be more continental
Staff were friendly and obliging, room comfortable and restaurant excellent although wine list a little expensive
owner friendly nothing
We received an a very warm welcome. Our room was immaculate and the evening meal based on Alsacian cuisine was a really good experience.
Room was of a good size, very clean and had plenty of storage space as well as an en -suite roomy shower room.Buffet breakfast was superb with plenty of choice.Proprietor and all his staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble.Le Lude is a good location to tour from being within easy reach of Le Mans,Tours and the Loire valley chateaux. The Loir valley was quieter with I would say pleasanter scenery. I would have no hesitation in visiting this Hotel again.
The proprietor went out of his way to make our stay a good one, satying late up to welcome us and provide us with a much needed snack. No A/C in the second room, which made sleeping uncomfortable for our sons.
the room was spacious with beds/matraces of very high quality. the shower is efficient and in perfect state (a rare state in hotels in France of this category) the dining fascilities in the enclosed terrace/courtyard are are very agreeable during hot days. the food is interesting, regional "a l'alsacienne" and served in rather large portions. not expensive and good value for money.
Good location for access to Le Mans. Very helpful staff. Good value for money
Room finished to high standard, showers superb, restaurant menu wonderful, service & staff friendliness excellent 3 visits and nothing to criticise
Attention to detail, friendliness of owners, decor, food. location, terraced gardfen, in fact we were completely happy with this hotel and would recommend to our friends.
Traditional friendly small French hotel in centre of town recently restored with new en suite and sanitary fittings and new bedroom furniture. Sattelite TV actually worked - a first for France! We did not dine at hotel as staying with family. Parking was a bit difficult - parking in street made worse by special market during our stay, but we did not mind walking a couple of roads to park.
We liked already the facade, witch is very inviting(terras under the trees, nice house) We spend a great evening in the wine bar, where they serve a good choice of local wines and charcuteries. The swimming pool and the garden are also super(funny cat & dog)
Fantastic olde worlde decor, I particularly loved the roll top bath, and the shower wet room was great too, really good value for money, this is a small family run hotel attached to a really nice cosy wine bar. The rooms are huge and there's a swimming pool too.
The staff were extremely warm and friendly, and the cafe and our room was very charmingly decorated. The menu was mostly geared towards sharing platters of meats and cheeses - but we also shared an excellent savoury tart and the apple tart for dessert was wonderful. The wine cellar was fantastic and the host helped us pick out a lovely wine for our anniversary. Our room smelled a little musty though it was very clean. Small things were missing like soap and tissues by the basin, and a light globe needed replacing but these were very minor overall.
