Quiet and peaceful location ideally suited for our trip to the Nurgburgring, friendly staff, good food. Will stay there again the next time we visit.
hard to find Rothenbach
This is our 2nd stay at Haus Sonneck and still the best we have experienced in Europe!! Great value, beautifull rooms, nice breakfast, wake to the sounds of the countryside and far enough from the Nurburgring that you don't hear the cars when its time to sit back and relax in the courtyard. Not one thing.
Very accommodating and friendly staff, very clean.
The hotel is set in the open countryside making it nice and quite, but is not to far from main villages (5 minutes to the next village with three resturants serving good food and 15 minutes to the nurburgring) The room was modern and comfortable with a nice view over fields. Breakfast had a nice range of choice. During our stay the hotel resturant was not open due to the owner not being very well, but other guests staying in the hotel did say that they had stayed in 2009 and the resturant was open and did have good food with large portions.
Yes: The lack of enlightning in the room: impossible to read in the room in the evening.
Comfortable, clean and quiet. Gorgeous countryside. Nurburgring only 5 minutes away. Superb resteraunts a 15 euro taxi ride away. Good for kids with small animals to see. Breakfast very good. Unable to get a beer at the hotel in the evenings or food. Had to get taxi to Nurburg. 15 euros.
Clean, quiet, beautiful surroundings, kind hotel staff, good food for breakfast. . TV didn't work. Water temperature in the shower is variable. Not possible to have lunch/dinner on site.
The hotel is in countryside and has quite which is important when you want to relax. Also has horses in the area.
nice people, real good beds en nothing went wrong! -
Friendly staff. Nice room. Clean. Noisy on the square, in hall, next door neighbor, etc if you're a light sleeper.
It was a nice simple hotel. The name fitted the hotel perfectly. The staff was excellent and very friendly.
Nice place to stay.
Small, family run
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Excellent quality and value for money evening meal.
Accomodations were more than ok. Staff is very friendly, accurate and helpfull. Exellent location from which to explore the environment by motorbike. Very near to start of i.e. Eiffel motor routes.
very nice place to stay , would happily re vist great area to be in for walking / mountain biking etc
Friendly and hlpful staff (family business), English spoken, and saw staff trying to help French visitors too. Excellent breakfast. Lovely little town. The Hotel is on the main square and is opposite a very good Eis Cafe (Icecream Palour/coffee shop) No obvious reception desk, not really a problem though.
Excellent hotel staff, very friendly.
The Arnicot family makes you feel at home rightaway. The rooms are clean comfortable and have all you need while not being luxury. The hotel restaurant serves very good food at very reasonable prices. No need to go elsewhere (what we usually do). Recommended for a stay if you like hiking in the nature of the Eifel.
Beautiful forest location, also very near to other small towns in the Mosel valley. Excellent choice & superb food & wine in the restaurant.
Very friendly staff. Very good diner and breakfast with good choice possibilities.
Clean modern room, very good breakfast, good position near motorway and handy for Nurburgring and Moselle(Cochem) good walking on doorstep, very quiet
This was our second visit. An excellent family run hotel providing excellent food & drink. Located in a small forest/woodland area ideal for walks. Short drive to Cochem from which you can catch the train to Trier. Would recommend to anyone.
Wonderfull country style relaxing atmosphere with proper accommodation facilities. Rich breakfast buffet.
We enjoyed Pension Zur Scheune so very much. It was quaint, quiet, perfectly appointed, reasonably priced. NONE! Perfect!
Felt very cosy and made to feel welcome. Little dissapointed because there was no facility to use wireless internet and because we were travelling this was essential to book future hotel stays.
Very good breakfast. Close to Nurburgring. Quiet The owner let us know at 8 o'clock in the morning of the out day that we had to leave the rooms by 9 o'clock in order to clean them for the next. It was very inconvenient for us because our schedule was to leave the rooms by 11 and catch our plane back home. Another problem was that most of the time there was nobody in the hotel and had to leave paper notes to each other, even on the arrival we had to call them to come and check in. The owner brought the keys and left. As soon as we found out there was no soap we had to call them back again!! No credit cards accepted!!
Welcoming owners. Clean and tidy, large room. Good location with very attractive countryside Good breakfast with plenty of selection.
this was a fantastic little hotel, the staff where really nice and accommodating. the room was really nice we where really surprised at how good it was for the price
Cute little Pension, with a large room and modern bathroom. Fantastic breakfast. No soap or shampoo. No receipt. Seemed to have internet access, but no password. Nearest restaurant is a couple km away.
Completely charming place to stay, perfectly located for Nurburgring less than 5 miles. High quality rustic accommodation, clean, comfortable and excellent value. Breakfast was an array of good quality food, continental rather than cooked but very delicious including freshly baked bread and boiled eggs that were probably laid that morning! Owners speak only a little English but we got by. Cannot recommend too highly. The satnav struggled to find it. Critical direction info is that it is situated on the B410 (Hauptstrasse 10 is the B410) and is 1km from Boos in the direction of Mayen-Koblenz ie heading away from Nurburgring. Boos is easy to find on the map and Lind is the next village along.
I can't say enough for the owner and this Pension. This was the nicest stay we had. The owner was so friendly and helped us to find our way while we were lost in the very hard rain. They were very accomidating for our early monrning and had breakfast ready to go for us. We will definalty consider coming back.
beautifull place, new room end very clean nice brekfast
Great location (near the Nurburgring). Lovely, welcoming owners that cannot do enough for you during your stay. N/A
The Landlady was very kind. The room and the services were perfect. The breakfast was rich and delicious. Their horses are beautiful.
Very handy for the Nurburgring and the hosts are charming and very helpful. I would use the Sonnenwende again.
Good idea for Nordschleife fans)
The hosts were fantastic and made us feel really welcome. We wanted a quiet and relaxing stay and we got exactly that. Super clean, great breakfast and excellent facilities. Will recommend this highly to anyone visiting the Eifel. none...it was perfect.
Friendliness of staff, excellent accomodation, clean, tidy and quiet No
The place is brilliant. Very close to the nurburgring, and the people are really really nice..
The area and the closeness of the B&B to the Nurburg Ring. They don't offer any food during the evening and there aren't any restaurants close by so you are forced to travel by car every night.
location within 3 minutes drive to the race track. Super helpful owners, friendly feel like home. Great freshly made breakfast. Some guests arrived late at night and hard to go back to sleep.
very friendly staff and very clean room
laid back rural setting, suberb facilities for our needs, great staff, good value for money compared to UK None
Stayed at a partner house which although some 10km from the Gasthaus ( in the wrong direction ) was excellant .
very clean room to start!! and friendly staff stayed for three nights had no clean towels for complete stay and the apartment was not cleaned either
Great place an very good customer service an friendly an welcoming ! A very relaxing atmosphere away from the city !
We stayed in a partner home that was really nice with a fantastic veranda and spotlessly clean. We ate in the hotel the first night when we were tired and hungry after a long journey. We waited 1.5hrs for the starter, a soup which only one of us had ordered, and 2hrs for the main course. The food was tasty and good value but we didn't go back because of the wait.
Friendly and helpfull owners with good food at reasonable prices
Very friendly & flexible. Great shower in the partner house.
Pleasant atmosphere, great food, quiet location but not too far from the Nurburgring. The staff do speak some English but given the location I wouldn't have expected more from them. The rooms have ample space and we would go back again. Strong smell of cigarettes on all of the bed linen. Pillows need to be replaced as the filling was poor in them. Bathroom cleanliness was ok but some parts had not been thoroughly cleaned.
Owner was friendly and helpful We stayed in the partner house which was nothing more than the basement of someones house in the adjacent village, which meant we had to travel 2 miles every day for breakfast, and was well overpriced for this arrangment, if we had stayed at the main guesthouse it would have been okay.
