The hotel is the only one in the Alfama with a terrace, there are actually three terraces here, you can have breakfast there with a stunning view to enjoy. The breakfast is excellent, you can have champagne, fruit, croissants and cream buns! The bedrooms are small with limited storage space and our shower was lit by pulling back the curtain in the bedroom which was interesting. Take the walking tour as soon as you get there, Fred was very interesting with tips for places to eat and visit.
If you were down for an early breakfast the taking of orders for hot food was somewhat sporadic and the service for drinks later in the day was not speedy.

Great front desk staff. Very helpful and pleasant. The roof top deck was great, especially in the evening when it was cooler.
Glass walled toilet was stupid. The desk in the room was too narrow to be useful. It all looked pretty, but wasn't as functional.

Fantastic hotel, great location and friendly staff. Tour around Alfama offered by the hotel, free of charge was very useful and learnt a lot.
The prices of the drinks at the terrace bar are extortionate.
