The accommodation was clean and comfortable The evening meal was, to put it politely, inedible and I refused to pay for it. this was a great pity because in all other respects the hotel was good value.
Location,Easy to find and close to the city and beach and memorials. The choice of diner could have been better.
Location was good for town and easy to find. The room was basic but comfortable but the hotel was extremely noisy with other guests slamming doors at all hours, often because they had poor catches. A bit on the expensive side given the quality of the room.
Good location for visiting D-Day sites. Friendly personnel and good restaurant.
Easy to find; good restaurant; nice relaxed atmosphere. Small rooms; limited breakfast choice.
nothing in particular rooms cramped
The dinner was very good and the breakfast was good
Locallity to the town centre and access to the historical aspect from WW2.Good parking and a smart hotel.
Second time at Logis Le Sainte Mere, ideal position for local area. Made very welcom, the French cuisine was also very good. No complaints at all.
loved the quality of the service and the friendly staff. The overall facility was very accessible and easy to use. The buffet breakfast was excellent value and well organised. We were disappointed with the quality of the basic menu dishes. The evening menu was quite large and complex and the main dishes were poor quality and value for money based on three that we tried.
Friendly and easy atmosphere; room with a great view on the bridge and the tides. Nice relaxed village
great staff, great family rooms, great food, great value for money!
very nice apartment in a small town in Normandy. The restaurant was perfect.
Beautifully styled inside and out. Delicious and ample, good value breakfast. Right next to the ocean.
wonderful location, beautiful contemporary rooms, very French feel. Great food and very accomodating staff.
Staff were exceptionally helpful after we got lost and arrived very late. Our family room was very large and we loved the staircase within the room that once would have led to a tower. The building generally was wonderful. The hotel was not as close to Cherbourg as we first thought (about 25km) - but in the end, well worth the extra drive
Tranquil setting; an interesting building with lots of history, within easy distance of Cherbourg. Good range of menus; excellent value both for room and meal. Contacted hotel by phone to make enquiries about evening meal. Prompt and helpful. None
Very enjoyable stay, handy for Cherbourg. Rooms overlooking the road a little noisy from Traffic.
Lots of atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and welcoming staff. Lovely dining room where we had a very good meal. Didn't have breakfast as we find french breakfasts very expensive.
We liked the setting very much. Our room was very comfortable and immaculately presented. We enjoyed an excellent gourmet dinner, the restaurant and the food is really special. A lovely breakfast saw us well equipped to make 30 minute trip to the ferry. Very convenient. We will certainly stay there again. We would like a larger room if we stayed for a longer break.
Superb staff, reasonable price, beautiful setting
diner at the hotel was delicious!
Friendly service, very comfortable bed, excellent dinner in lovely surroundings. Nice location for a weekend break. Breakfast was disappointing, especially compared to dinner. 9 euros for a basic continental breakfast was a little expensive.
Excellent facilities. Staff helpful. Propeitor spoke English. Food excellent Very good location None
Lovely place to stay, not far from the port of cherbourg,
The hotel location is good, close to many points of interest. The bed was really comfy. All the features were contemporary: nice, big shower, translucent sink, pristine separate toilets. They had obviously made an effort in decorating and styling the rooms all in olive green and brown tones. A disappointment. We had selected this hotel as it was a 'Hotel de Charme'. When we arrived we were ushered into a brand new purpose bit building where they had managed to fit 5 rooms. Despite the rooms being well appointed, it was not the charming atmosphere we expected. Rooms like many visited on business purposes - comfortable yet without character. The first room we were given was huge with a beautiful open plan bath but too noisy (wooden stairs + banging front door) so we asked to change. Our next room was half the size, over-heated and full of mosquitoes! Service was indifferent and questions answered laconically. The expensive breakfast lacked of choice (and clean cups) with flies everywhere and staff busy preparing tables for lunch.
It was excellent the room was of a good standard and the staff helpful and food first class.
There was nothing to recommend at this hotel. It was dirty, poorly maintained, the furniture in the rooms was old and very worn. We had paid extra for a 'comfort' room - don't bother, the bath jets and controls were so full of limescale they couldn't work. The staff were particularly bad and failed to put right any of the problems with the room, they even claimed not to have any milk for the tray in our bedroom - this is a hotel with a restaurant attached!!! They also do not have private parking.
Lovely hotel in just the right location for what we wanted.
The rooms were nice, so was the food. The price of drinks, and the few problems we encountered with malfunctions in the shower.
The hotelier remembered us and welcomed us in a pleasant manner. The room was light and had everything we needed. Good breakfast.
The proprietors were very friendly. Putting an extra bed in the room was no trouble. It was very cheap! It was in need of serious redecoration. The photo of the hotel on the website bore very little (if any) relationship to the actual hotel!
Very nice couple and breakfast lovely. However in terms of the room, you 'd never have a hotel like this in the UK for normal guest just DHSS hostel type place.
Quiet location Directions were not so good, it was not as close to the ferry port as I thought
Nothing It needed a complete overhaul - the rooms were shabby the bathrooms appalling. The noises from other guests and the communal toilet and water system all through the night (which appeared be be immediately adjacent to our room) meant that sleep was impossible. Glad to leave.
Quiet location but near local amenities None
The room was on the ground floor and all on the flat. Nothing
Nice clean light room with a beautiful view, in a lovely old French village, a few doors from the tourist office and a pleasant walk to the beach/sea and Carteret harbour. In October it was very quiet and there weren't places open in the evening to eat except the hotel itself, or down in Carteret. The food and service at the hotel was great, though can't really been done on the cheap. There is a supermarket in the village for food, however.
Perfect place for overnight stop before or after a ferry crossing, excellent resteraunt with good value menu, private car park with lovely garden and swings at the back of the hotel. Very friendly host and immaculate bathroom, bedding etc. Would definately stop again. Should just say it is in the town and not by the beach.
A pleasant hotel with basic rooms but very clean. Good shower. Staff very friendly and helpful. Free wi-fi and good breakfast. Location ok but Carteret is where the most shops restaurants etc are
The situation in a quiet location overlooking the estuary was delightful. It only took forty minutes from Cherbourg, on easy quiet roads. Food was of a high standard, but note that dinner is not served on Mondays, but can be obtained at sister hotel a mile away. Room pleasant and very comfortable.
everything our group was separated (2 rooms in the main building 1 in the annex) the main facilities being in the main building.
A small hotel giving good personal service
Lovely room with great view (harbour room). Extremely comfortable and friendly hotel. If staying for more than a couple of nights, the menu was limited, however there are other restaurants around the vacinity if you go out. Wine at this hotel was quite pricey.
Lovely location,tastefully furnished.
Location was beautiful and relaxing. Staff is friendly and helpful. Being charged for breakfast automatically when we did not use the service. Only stairs to get to 2nd floor.
Very comfortable room, clean and helpful, friendly staff
Very attentive staff. Excellent food. Vg location None
Cleanliness Appearance Helpfulness of staff Restaurant high standard None
Very pleasant place to stay, and the beach in Piru is bril. Staff were excellant. could do with wifi in rooms although it does work sitting outside
Quiet; easy to find; staff friendly. Restaurant was good.
Very nice hotel. Near what we needed to be close to, helpful staff.
Rooms comfortable, evening meal good
quite rooms were pretty small. It is okay for a few days but not for longer stays.
Bunk beds in family room were uncomfortable
Rudeness of the staff!!
The room was big with a seperate toilet and shower room. The breakfast was meager, for 8.5 euros the selection was poor. The pricing of the drinks is hefty,9.5 euros for a whisky cola is steep.
+clean & tidy - excellent location
Good location for visiting D day beaches
Friendly staff, good restaurant food and service and the best breakfast spread we had all week! Rooms were small and basic, but quite adequate for our needs.
Friendly reception. Open all night. Breakfast was very good.
God stopover location and accessible from main roads In need of refurbishment - and brightening up. Decor very depressing and public areas dowdy. Expensive for what it was - not just the room but tiny coffees were 3 eutros each
The staff were friendly and helpful - location was good Evening meals weren't as good as other hotels stayed at during the week's holiday
Hot croissants at breakfast. Friendly reception.
The manor is bit off the beaten track but if old and full of family history is you, then what a wonderful find - huge fireplaces, winding stone staircase and a four poster bed, to name but a few. Soft furnishings could do with being updated
The experience of staying in an old manor house. Very adequate creperie/restaurant. Friendly staff, nice surroundings. Economical 2 days. Did not realise it was an activity centre for youngsters - could be a bit noisy.
The setting was beautiful, staying in a Chateau was magical, breakfast excellent! The Creperie, the chef and the friendly dog all excelled as well! Not being able to check in until 5 pm
The location is only excellent if you want a quiet place in the countryside. If you're after nightlife, forget it! Lovely lake, nice rooms and the best place we stayed on our trip round Normandy. Loved it.
While the location of the hotel is remote the surrounding countryside and grounds are splendid. The Hotel itself is almost medieval with lots of character. We will certainly go back
staff were wonderful and freindly - will definately book again
Traditional decor with lovely stone fireplaces. Very nice owners. Big garden to explore plus lovely beaches approx 20 minutes by car. Bar and restaurant available on site. I would definitely go again.
The Manoir de La Foulerie is a charming and stylish place to stay. The owners are friendly and helpful and the ambience is excellent. There is also a restaurant with genuine home cooking and a bar, unusual in B&Bs of this type, but in common with other French Hotels and B&Bs there is no hospitality tray to allow guests to brew up a cup of tea or coffee, as would found in most comparable British establishments. Highly recommended as a place of great tranquillity. A good place to chill out.
Beautiful Manoir with lakeside setting, Lovely food available at creperie adjacent to Manoir. Very relaxing break and friendly people both hosts & guests.
The unique experience of living in a Normandy Manor house. A friendly host and the extremely pleasant atmosphere at the breakfast table (fire crackling in the large Norman fireplace). The WiFi connection did dot function, but steps were taken to remedy
