As one of the premier wedding venues in the northwest there may some function noise over weekends. Superbly refurbished throughout, Liverpool's BEST WESTERN The Alicia Hotel is located five minutes from the city centre. However, a stay here will see you enjoy peace and quiet in a tranquil location that overlooks picturesque Sefton Park. The Albert Dock, Tate Modern and Liverpool One are all within easy reach too. However, the delightful Glasshouse Restaurant, Edwardian Bar and in-room entertainment available from reception may tempt you to stay within the cozy walls of this one-time Edwardian Merchant's house! With ample free parking and friendly staff, BEST WESTERN The Alicia Hotel is ideal for business, pleasure or both! Enjoy your stay. May be restrictions on dining times when functions are on at the hotel.
The rooms were not well appointed - freezing weather and radiator turned off with window left open/TV not working/no telephone/wedding party with disco until late.
very friendlly and helpful staff - comfortable bar, nice restaurant that is light and spacious with good views
food was very good also very value for money
room was not made up untill we came back in the afternoon and had to ask for the room to be made up
I liked the comfort of the room with the flat screen TV on the wall. I also thought that the breakfast was outstanding for quality, quantity and choice.
The shower did not work very well.
The location is great with a wonderful view over Sefton Park. Peaceful setting yet close to the city.
The bed was the worst I have ever had and the room had a bad smell. We had a power cut & the staff were hopeless. Could not eat in the hotel at night because the dining room, which was glass, had no heating.
Friendly atmosphere, excellent breakfast, comfortable surroundings
Due to refurbishment of the lift, access to the hotel from my room (the garden room) was only possible by going outside. Not ideal given the weather conditions.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly
There was no hot water after one bath and it did not get warm again for hours. The bathroom still had dried urine on the floor in front of the toilet.
Really good location if you want a quiet leafy hotel in Liverpool. Friendly staff and small but comfortable rooms.
They don't seem to employ enough staff, so when there's a private function then the staff on call really have to run around and work hard and so that can mean a wait at the bar, or in the restaurant. They were very friendly, though - but so harrassed!
Visit to the palm house. The food was also excellent
