We really enjoyed the quiet environment, the restaurant, the excellent service provided by the staff and the easy internet access The hotel was fine but we thought that the cost to play golf was excessive especially given that we could not bring our clubs from Australia and therefore needed to hire everything.
The quietness and the scenery the following morning.
Room was very quiet and comfortable and the hotel was very stylish additional cahrge to access spa
Well designed hoteL (don't mind the appearance of the hotel) . Do ask for a room with view on the golf course though. Nothing to do with the hotel as such but our car got seriously damaged on the parkingplace in front of the hotel. Alas the perpatrator was unknown (no note left) and there are no camera's on this specific part . So better park your car in eg garage.
Spacious room with a lovely balcony/view. Nice big bed (not two twins pushed together). Very ugly and run-down appearance from the outside. Location was horrible (very far from the beach, and nearest town). Not at all luxurious (no furniture or amenities in the room). Fitness center was a joke. I would classify this hotel as a low 3-star, definitely not a 4. Elevators to the fitness center didn't work for two days.
Good quality room and peaceful surroundings. We arrived a day early and the staff were happy to add on another nights stay at the same rate as the prebooked nights.
The staff were outstanding. Very helpful and pleasant. The rooms were luxurious, and the quiet was above average. The road/driveway leading to the hotel. It could also use a ramp to bring luggage up from the car.
Within easy reach of several popular beach resorts and yet being in a quiet location. Good sized room with terrace overlooking part of the course. Dinner expensive and disappointing. Free underground parking.
Welcome of all the hotel's staff and manager very smily and helpfull Beautifull bedroom with high confort standard Very nice with children very good diner and fine wines, but some dishes not enough hot when served
Everything, don't tell anyone else, excelent breakfast Restaurante menu too fussy, pretenstious, didn't try it
Beautiful hotel magnificently restored with really interesting pieces of furniture and antiques. We were travelling from south of Spain into France and the hotel was a bit out of the way from our direction but it was a very pleasant diversion.
The setting of the hotel and the historic aspect of the building itself were outstanding. We enjoyed sitting by the pool and our room was clean and quiet. We were very disapointed not to be allowed parking in the hotel or surrounding areas due to wedding guests. We had difficulty checking in due to the wedding in the hotel vestibule and on finding our room there were no soap and shower gel.The wedding party spoiled our pool and dining experience. The 'chill out' bar was closed and wedding guests children were allowed free run of the grounds. We dined in the restaurant which was very noisey from the wedding celebrations beneath. We ordered white wine and were given red and I was given steak with chips instead of potatoes. We found the whole experience far from the calm relaxing time we were expecting. I feel the wedding should have been more contaied by the hotel.
Friendly, efficient staff. Lovely gardens and tasteful decor. Good size room and bed. Good food. Bath sealant needed replacing.
The position, grounds, ambience and ease of parking The staff were not very attentive and there was a lot of noise from the street until 04.00
Very good accomodation in a special environment. Top class location. Noisy airco.
Exceptionally beautiful building. Very friendly receptionist. Located right in the center of town, with free car park. Nice warm pool. A nice time travelling experience! No satellite tv. Food in the restaurant was a bit over complicated and as a result not very nice taste wise.
Basic facilities for cooking eg no kettle but everywhere very clean. Charges for internet access???
The accomodation was clean and correct although quite basic and impersonal. The cost was very reasonable and as a whole it is good value for money. There is no personality at all in the decoration of the building and inside the flats. The quality of all fabrics in the flat, from towels to bed linen, was extremely low with a very poor touch feeling.
The professionalism of the staff, the size of the rooms and their facilities, and the open aspect of the gardens and pool area at the rear of the hotel. There was nothing which I did not like.
Nice grounds with very large swimming pool. Terrace Bar. Large well equipped room. Variable levels of attentiveness of staff.
The outside grounds were beautiful and it was a very relaxing setting. The breakfast was amazing. The bed was too firm.
The large size of the room. The noise of the air conditioner and the fact that people were allowed to walk to the swimming pool through the dining area in the evening.
It was perfect. The owner-familiy does everything for the guest to feel at home. The restaurant ist outstanding. You can't eat bad!!!!! The swimmingpool is a dream.
Close to the beach. Swiming pool area nice to relax. Service treatment looks like is good if you have money. Restaurant prices are so high. They don't have wifi. You have to pay to access internet. Room decoration is old-fashioned.
Absolute relaxation. Beautiful room (superior double), gorgeous gardens and pool (which never seemed too busy) and absolutely 1st class food. The breakfast was fantastic value at 12.50 euros per person and while the restaurant was by no means cheap, the quality presentation and service was as good as most top London restaurants. The only major disappointment was the the poorly advertised spa and fitness centre. This was in fact no more than a sauna, jacuzzi and two fitness machines. There was no on-site spa treatments (apparently a massage could be ordered from an external company), however for a one hour private usage of the jacuzzi and sauna cost 20 euros and to use the 2 exercise machines cost £10 euros. For what was apart from this a first class and quality hotel where we spent £1000 between two of us for a three night trip the advertising of these facilities is extremely poor and the costs seem completely unneccessary.
Quiet comfort, most helpful management and staff. A truly pleasant experience which has to be repeated.
Well furnished and comfortable bedroom with balcony overlooking the garden as requested. Lovely large bathroom. Nice little extra touches such as complimentary decanter of sherry. Excellent gourmet restaurant and very good buffet breakfast. Lovely sea water pool and garden to relax in. Although the food at the hotel was excellent there were few other places to eat within walking distance. The hotel is close to the sea with a good long sandy beach for familiies and sand dunes (preferred by nudists). We thought that there were prettier and smarter resorts such as Sa Reira, (a short drive away).
Personnel were very accommodating. Room was spacious and comfortable. Pretty setting by the pool. Great restaurant and service. Made you feel like you were someplace special. There were only a few people staying there since their season was over. I wish they had upgraded us to a room with a view of the pool, instead of the parking lot.
Very large and comfortable bedroom with huge terrace. Excellent restaurant service. All food was expensive, no "plain" poolside menu. Daytime receptionist was inefficient and brusque at times.
We were very impressed with the deal we got for half board. The meals were excellent with a good choice. We stayed for 2 nights so not sure if menus would be sufficiently varied for a longer stay. The hotel is conveniently located and our room was very comfortable. There is limited hotel parking but not available when we stayed and I believe there is a charge, but not difficult to find nearby free street parking. The plumbing was a little noisy but not intrusive.
good value for money, for the size and number of guests the evening buffet was fine. a decent choice and plenty. the hotel owner was very nice and helpful.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Nereida. The staff were very good and the food most enjoyable. We would certainly return.
Good value, comfortable (for price) room. Good variety of food. Nothing particularly
Very clean & comfortable for a budget hotel. The room, altough quite small in the roof space, had air con,tv,full bathroom, hairdryer & balcony ! The food was of excellent quality,& quite a good choice bearing in mind what i paid. Only grumble was the very early dining hours, but this is typical of a Spanish tourist hotel which caters for children & all nationalities. I imagine this hotel dates from the 60's. The dark blue & white exterior colour scheme doesn't really help 2 enhance it's appearance. Maybe a brighter.lighter colour would change the rather austere look.
Rooms have a tiny kitchenette with fridge, sink, microwave and two hot plates- there is a large supermarket at Delfin Verde camp site down the road. 10m outdoor pool and 8m indoor pool plus v basic gym (weights and 2 exercise bikes/ 2 treadmills). Good breakfast buffet. And few minutes from a massive lovely beach!! Fantastic Gym was v hot, saw one woman working out in her swimming costume! Resto slightly overpriced I thought.
confortable, large room with kitchen facilities, free use of indoor wellness installations and tennis court and parking, friendly service Part of the equipment of the fitness room was old and difficult to use, the sauna for men did not work. the season was not started in april: the closest food shop was 8 km away.
Very good place, 100% 4 stars. Excellent stuff (Leila and other receptionists does her best to help you), very good breakfast (2 types of sparkling wine, salmon), clean rooms - they washed our dirty dishes while we were away! Very good restaurant. Swimming pool is nice to relax. No regrets - this place was good. the sea could be a bit cleaner - but this is what you have if you have a sandy beach.
The room was very nice and very spacious so was the breakfast. Accidentally we got a smoking room that was replaced as soon as we asked. The dinner was nice and the whole atmosphere in the hotel made us feel welcome. The hotel is very isolated so eating out is not a real option
An excellent base to explore the Costa Brava. The hotel is modern, well designed, and well run. The Catamaran restaurant serves excellent food, beautifully presented, at very fair prices. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The surroundings of the hotel are a little depressing - empty apartment blocks and chalets, broken pavements, and a rather run-down air. Although this is obviously outside the control of the hotel, it does affect your impression of the place. It is a pity that such an excellent hotel should be let down in this way.
very comfortable room that included a kitchennet; seaside vicinity; avalability of a free parking lot in room internet connection was slow; room soundproof was insufficient; sauna was out of order
Location, proximity to indoor and outdoor pools quietness. We had self-catering accommodation within the hotel complex which was generally good but the equipment for cooking was completely inadequate
Nice and comfortable rooms, location is very good: close to l'estartit but far enough to be relaxing and not too touristic. Also close to the beach! swimming pool and outside view of hotel was not very inviting, but for the rest is was excellent!
Lovely hotel in great location. We will return at the first chance we can. Great beach ,nearly deserted midweek .Thanx
It is off the beaten track so aa very peaceful stay in an area that becomes overrun with holidaymakers in the summer. The airconditioner is limited I assume to conserve but shared a family room for four and could have done with a bit more!
Very nice place close to the sea. Good and cheap restaurant. Excellent to relax. Rather far from the city if you're not by car.
Good value, good room, friendly staff. Enjoyed the evening G and T watching the Swifts and Bats from the balcony. Outside needs tarting up a bit. Need transport ideally to get around.
Relaxed and easy going style of service. This hotel is in a country location and a car is probably essential as the nearest village is at least a 30 minute walk. The food was good and excellent value. The owner and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The exterior of the building could do with a bit of maintance.
for its class, this hotel is very well run in every sense, and it deserves the success it is getting for its restaurant qualities. none
restaurant quality no
Small and friendly, fantastic beach nearby, food excellent in restaurant paid seperately, very Spanish, pool quiet. Jacuzzi room beautiful but no outdoor area and facing concrete wall when small window opened, moved to another room still very nice but no jacuzzi but still good, but were able to sit out and we preferred this. We would go back as we have visited many times over last 15 years but wouldnt suit everyone as a long drive to get to it from main road through unlit fields. 5 km approx.
The room was clean and quiet and the food is fabulous and cheap! The free breakfasts are really a great start to the day. The hotel should have some beach equipment for rent...some simple little beach chairs and umbrellas to rent. It's not a great beach anyway, no shade whatsoever, so renting out simple, easily carried beach stuff would have made it worthwhile to actually use the beach. We had to drive a long way, everyday, to get to the beaches with shade!
The two hosts were incredibly attentive, professional, friendly and knowledgable. The hotel is quite small, with a perfect and well designed amalgamation of rustic charm and sophisticated modern style. It is set in beautiful countryside but within easy walking distance of the medieval village of Peratallada and only a few minutes drive from the Beaches of the Costa Brava. The ambience is totally relaxed and relaxing and dining is an interesting and very satisfying experience. I have absolutely nothing to say in criticism of the Hotel Aatu.
We loved the Hotel Aatu! It's in a lovely setting with beautiful gardens, 2 swimming pools. Very clean, spare rooms with the biggest white, fluffy towels. Very good breakfast: fresh fruits, great cafe con leche, delicious fresh baked bread. It's in a wonderful location, just steps from the beautiful tiny stone village Peratallada, which is fun to explore & has a number of terrific restauants. The hotel is 15-20 minutees from the sea & the beautiful Costa Brava coastline. But what really sets Hotel Aatu apart is the warmth and care given by Rune & Bernat who run it. They are extremely friendly, helpful & welcoming & make you feel like family-----checking out was like saying goodbye to friends. Nothing at all to complain about.
