Pros: Beautiful, remote location. Owner was very welcoming, despite our late evening arrival! Lovely, comfortable family room, with tea/coffee making facilities and bottles of water (and KitKats, which went down well with the children). Plentiful breakfast consisting of fruit juice, cereal, yoghurts and a delicious, freshly cooked breakfast (using local produce) cooked to order, together with toast, tea and coffee.
Cons: Return in the early hours of the morning of a couple of other guests who were drunk and noisy (understand they'd been to a wedding!)

The room was clean and had been arranged with some lovely touches (towels folded like swans and chocolate medallions on top), and tea and coffee in abundance (with biscuits provided!). Bathroom spotless. Lovely, cosy pub, and very good food. Overall, excellent value for money! Strongly recommend if you are visiting the area, which was what I did while walking on the Heart of Wales trail. It is also near the Brecon Beacons, so perfect as a base.

The owners were very attentive and keen to make our stay as best it could be. Breakfast was plentiful. Plenty of carpark space in the rear courtyard. The owners have successfully given the property a medieval appearance.

Pros: Breakfast excellent. Curry evening meal excellent. Lovely views. Lovely people. Comfy beds. Well equipped rooms. Chickens were fun to watch particularly as some had just had chicks a few days before our visit. Good walking area. The National Trust Roman gold mines very nearby are well worth a visit.
Cons: Some of the access roads from A482 are single track with passing places. This is to be expected as you are in the Welsh hills. Some pot holes could do with filling in - just like everywhere else. But you get used to it and views are worth the effort.

Pros: Friendly owners, amazing home, great views.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Megan was a lovely genuine host with lots of local knowledge, the room (we had the Garden Room) was very large and homely, and extremely cosy. We were greeted with Welsh cakes and the bacon at breakfast was the best I have ever had! We will definitly be staying here again if we return to Brecon Beacons. The garden was also very large and lots of space for our 2 year old to run around in.
Cons: The only bad thing was the wifi signal was very poor in our room. Everything else was excellent
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Megan is an amazing host, it was such pleasure to meet her and have a lovely interesting chat. The house is full of history, it felt like travelling to the past. The views from the house are wonderful, Megan has beautiful friendly ponies in the fields outside the house.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Megan and Iestyn are the perfect hosts from beginning to end! We really could not have asked for more. The house is stunning and it is in the most idyllic location with plenty of lovely Welsh ponies to stroke in the surrounding fields. There was a beautifully cooked Welsh breakfast provided using wonderful local fare. Indeed the honey is actually from their own hives! There were lots of extra's provided, like tea offered on arrival, fresh milk for tea in the bedroom and even a sweet little decanter of port in the bedroom too! The house itself was also really special, full of beautiful furniture. Megan and Iestyn made us feel so welcome that we didn't want to leave! We will most certainly be visiting again, hopefully for longer next time... Thank you for having us and we do hope to visit you again soon!
Cons: Truly nothing! Everything was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house in beautiful surroundings. Lovely owners, very welcoming, a truly comfortable and relaxing stay, wish we'd been able to stay longer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely gorgeous house in beautiful surroundings, including a huge amount of land belonging to the property. Not far enough from the main road to be in any way inconvenient (except in heavy snow I guess) but far enough to be tranquil. The owners were extremely nice, and made us feel very welcome in their home. We stayed in the 'garden room' which is well appointed, spotless, spacious, comfortable and altogether delightful, with a nice view of the garden. Overall, the house is fantastic. Breakfast was lovely, the room had tea making stuff and even a small decanter of Port to welcome us. Perhaps a bit pricey, certainly by "budget travel" standards - I'm normally something of a skinflint when choosing places to stay - but worth every penny. Ffrwdral is somewhere really, really pleasant to spend time. Just superb.
Cons: There wasn't really anything I didn't like.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing house. The beds were perfect, we all slept brilliantly. Our 3yr old daughter felt like a princess walking up the stairs and sleeping in a beautiful room over looking the stunning grounds. We watched the horses and the evening mist roll in. Seriously beautiful. The owner's were so nice and wanting to make sure your stay was perfect. We will be going back for a romantic break soon.
Cons: Nothing. We even loved the old bath with the wicked taps.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful interior and grounds. Just wish we had more time TO enjoy it. Maybe next time.....
Cons: Wonderful home and great welcome.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Food we brought was very good
Cons: Heavy traffic noise very small bathroom and saniflow toilet
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: We turned up an hour early for check in. So my partner and I had a drink outside, when we was outside I had a phone call off someone from the bear saying my card was declined?? I was confused as I always pay when I check in plus they was also taking money off the wrong card?? I told him I was outside and would come in and pay. Once again in front of other people he said he tried my card twice and it was declined. This was embarrassing as other people could hear it and he was trying a card that doesn’t exist anymore. Also when we checked in and was taken to are room it’s looked ok at first!!!!!!!! ok the ceiling Was very very low but that was ok. But we notice that around the bed was wood nailed into the carpet?? When we walked around the room witch was the attic room the floor had loads of holes in it and my partner fell into one and landed on the floor. After further inspection My partner who is a Carpenter Took a look at the floor and could see that the way rock flooring had gone on the joints in more then 4 places and said that it was dangerous and does not understand how we have been given this room. He went downstairs and spoke to the owners who came into are room and said that they had a problem with guests who left the sky light open and they had a load of water come throw and damaged The floor?? We was not offered another room and because My partner had a few glasses of alcohol We could not drive home so had to stay. I have taken pictures of the floor as it was that bad. Gutted as I have booked rooms with booking.com loads of time and always have a great experience.
Cons: That the floor was not safe
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely clean rooms and the meals were lovely too! The staff were friendly throughout our stay. We enjoyed and would be happy to return for another over night stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were very friendly
Cons: If I was being very picky I would say the fact that they didn’t do breakfast but there were very good places nearby so it truly didn’t matter.
