10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our first experience of bed and breakfast and it was awesome. Lovely welcome with cake and coffee in the garden enjoying the sunshine. Really comfy bed. Exceptionally clean and had everything you needed. Delicious breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Debra was very warm and welcoming and the room was very large, comfortable and was great value for money. Everything was spotlesslessly clean and the bathroom was enormous! The large walk in shower was a pleasure. Breakfast was nice and it was a nice touch that there were DVD's and board games available in the snug. You can also watch sky tv including the movie channels.
Cons: The only negative I could see is that the B&B is a little out of the way, which can also be viewed as a positive because it is beautiful and quiet. However, due to the location of the property on the farm if you open the windows, there are quite few flies that get in.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great
Cons: Tricky drive to the farmhouse at night time
6.7 Good
Pros: Beautiful farm house. Beautiful room and stunning views.
Cons: No hot water at night. Had to wait to have a bath then in the morning we sat in the breakfast room for 15 minutes listening to the porno going on in the room above. Didn’t see any staff so didn’t have breakfast
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice room ! The location was idylic and the host was very nice! The food was great
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Wonderful and quiet place! One of the most beautiful destinations and guest house ever. The entire house and around seems to be a fairytale, lovely for a couple. Definitely going to come back to visit in winter, thank you to the two lovely ladies making us feel like home.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The peace and quiet, the friendly welcome, the excellent facilities. The breakfast was great and we were given some helpful ideas for walks and roads to try. Having breakfast served rather than from the warming oven would have been a minor improvement but not a big issue at all.
Cons: Almost too good, reluctant to give a very good rating as encouraging others to go might reduce our options for a return visit!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facilities were lovely. We had s very comfortable spacious room. The house is really interesting. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely welcome, very comfortable and great breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Able to come and go at our own convenience
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, warm comfortable clean room, and welcoming feeling.
Cons: Not the fault of the B&B, but the location is poor for facilities. We arrived (on motorcycles) in very, very, bad weather. The Laurels was great but we would have had to go back out (in the said, very, very, bad weather) to get a meal after arrival. That would have been an 8-10 mile ride on narrow back roads in the middle of nowhere. The local pub is good but it doesn't serve food. Our fault entirely, we should have checked in more detail or eaten before arrival. but we needed a warm dry stop after camping in said very, very, bad weather....
7.9 Good
Pros: Good sized room and good location for walking Glydŵr's Way. The hostess was able to provide me with an evening meal at very short notice.
Cons: Of the nine places I stayed whilst walking Glydŵr's Way this was the second most expensive, only exceeded by a 4 star hotel at Lake Vrynwy and the bathroom, whilst private was not ensuite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Couldn't fault anything about the accommodation or the hostess.
Cons: Loved everything!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed and lovely clean room with ample tea/coffee making facilities.
Cons: No complaints.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Large, comfortable room with everything we needed. Abbeycwmhir is a fantastic location. Do leave time to explore and it's worth staying when The Happy Union Inn is open!

Pros: well, what a great place. arrived and parked outside, went into the bar and was spoken to straight away, shown to a large clean room with a great view. The restaurant was clean and my order was placed. great food, friendly atmosphere and clean... although above the bar i wasn't affected by the people downstairs, had my tv and soon fell asleep. 8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast, served, reasonable. As we wanted a twin bedded room we had a two bedroom apartment which gave plenty of room but had to move furniture so my wife could have a set of drawers for all her stuff. Came with a fridge. Off street parking fun.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was large with views to the hills. Owner was helpful with my bike.
Cons: There were 50 stairs to my room. This meant the views were good. I am fit so not a problem for me but people with walking difficulties should ask for a room on a lower floor. Breakfast was fair.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly Staff, good location, clean rooms, breakfast was good. Travelled for work and will stay here again if I need to come to Powys!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really mind staff, particularly Ruth who was very accommodating and welcoming.
7.1 Good
Pros: The size of the bedroom
Cons: All the stairs especially with 2 dogs and luggage. Having a lift would be good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very centrally located. Lovely room and great hosts. Fab breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean, quiet, comfortable. Nice breakfast. Large room (no:1). Good shower. Fast free wifi. Friendly owner. Good location.
Cons: No lift so you must lug your bag up the stairs. However help is always offered. Otherwise a pleasant stay.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely people, great breakfast and fantastic service. Excellent value for money!
Cons: The stairs! The rooms that Ruth and Ross let out are all on the 2nd or 3rd floor. Also, they live in the building so every time you go to your room you encounter a large dog. It's lovely and very friendly but I know people who would freak out if not pre-warned.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were welcoming house was clean
Cons: Can’t think of anything
10.0 Excellent

7.3 Good
Pros: Fantastic room, private car park, excellent breakfast, excellent service...would definitely use again. Some little points of view though... the wireless internet did not work as did not the freeview tv, which was very patchy - maybe a signal issue, and finally getting there without satnav was a little difficult...on the whole 9 out of 10! I would always use it again
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We were very impressed by the owners and the facilities
Cons: A bit noisy on a Friday night
7.2 Good
Pros: Room was lovely, newly decorated fresh and clean.
Cons: Room No 1 was at the front of the guest house, as it was a Victorian house the windows were original, unfortunately across the road from the hotel was a club that stayed open until 3 am. The very large crowd who mainly were outside the club may well of been in the room with us, the noise was terrible especially on a Sunday night! I don't think this room should be used for guests.
7.6 Good
Pros: Excellent decor, very clean, nothing too much trouble for mine host, breakfast to die for.
Cons: Cannot think of any

Pros: So many staff it was a pleasure
Cons: Light going off whilst I was in the bath. It could have been dangerous as no natural light. Needs either the ‘automatic ‘ switch in a better position or an extra pull switch over the bath.

Cons: Rather a lot of steps in restaurant for elderly people
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location and friendly staff.
Cons: Limited dinner menu.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location overall, quiet, clean
Cons: Beds not that comfortable, as too soft for my liking. We had the ground floor room which said views over lake, although didn’t mention that the French windows opened directly onto the veranda at the front of the property, inc outside seating, so felt very exposed, and consequently wasn’t comfortable to be in the room with curtains open, as the route from the car parking area also passed directly in front of the windows. As such at £103 B&B felt over- priced.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Quality of room, good location
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A very rural location with sheep grazing in the surrounding fields and ducks on the large pond opposite, at the end of a no-through lane. Breakfast was very prompt and more than adequate with good choice of cooked options. Our room had the bonus of an extra sitting room with large screen tv and comfy sofa and large west facing window.
Cons: The new bathroom has a few teething problems which can hopefully be improved -very large with separate large shower and full bath.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: If you're expecting a 'chain hotel' then prepare to be disappointed because this isn't that sort of place. What it actually is, is a guest house run almost single-handedly (and very efficiently) by the host, Sue. The building is old, a bit creaky in places, but all the more charming perhaps because of that? The room I was in (Room 1) is a twin room of a nice size. It has everything you could possibly need but perhaps not everything that you'd ever 'want'. There's nowhere to work really, I was typing on my laptop sitting on the bed but, that's ok. I fell asleep mid-sentence, the bed was so comfortable... There's a very nice guest lounge with books and games. For business users, this might not be the obvious choice but, the WIFI is really good and I know the host has spent a lot of money upgrading it. For me, WIFI is the deal-breaker but there was nothing to complain about here. Breakfast in the morning is cooked to order and it's delicious. I'm not much of a breakfast eater but it was well worth the effort. This is a sleepy hotel, very comfortable and clean regardless of the housing development works going on outside. It's quiet and peaceful. If you're very lucky (and you like dogs), you'll have the privilege of patting the resident dog, a delightful black Labrador (built like a horse), very friendly, likes sausages very much. Give the hotel a chance, it is characterful and, if you need peace and quiet to work (as I did), it's a good choice. There's plenty to do in the area and lots of places to eat. I brought food with me but a warning, there is no 'Just Eat' in this area so don't expect it. I don't stay in Llandrindod Wells as a rule but if I needed to again, I would happily stay here again.
6.7 Good
Pros: Comfortable room and bed , good choices for breakfast.
Cons: Poor location for access to the town, normal entrance was closed so had to come in through back entrance which was quite shabby but this was only temporary.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner was very helpful and industrious.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location and very friendly staff
Cons: wifi wasn’t very good

Cons: The first few days when we arrived the weather was not very good and The room was very cold , we had to ask several times over the first few days before the heating and hot water were put on ,The weather eventually changed to beautiful hot sunshine we enjoyed the rest of the week very much There seemed to be a lot of Young staff trying to do several jobs at once and at times the reception being left unattended we were not always able to get information when we needed it , having said that some of the young staff did try to be very helpful ,I think they need a little hotel training .
7.9 Good

7.1 Good
Pros: The receptionist was really warm and welcoming, the room was large and comfortable and had everything we needed! The location was perfect to explore the town!
Cons: On the first morning at breakfast we were told we could sit anywhere. So we sat and then were asked to move because another couple had been on that table all week. Then on the second day at breakfast we again went in to sit down and then after one waitress took our order another one came and asked where we had sat the night before (we hadn't as we had eaten out) she replied telling us that people keep their tables and we were sat in someone seat. It was just a bit of poor communication as this was never told to us and originally we were told to sit anywhere so we did feel a bit uncomfortable!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: For a single man on a business trip £25 for a clean warm bed with a full English how could you go wrong .
Cons: Nothing was wrong at all good food a beer on tap and a warm clean bed all you need after a long drive to mid Wales
7.0 Good
Pros: accommodation basic and dated but staff fantastic and very helpful breakfast was good 5 of us stayed in seperate rooms for £40 pp per night including a cooked breakfast so for us good value unfotunatly there was a function on the evening we stayed so no food available would have been great to known in advance, metropole hotel opposite very kindly squeezed us in for dinner
Cons: rooms very dated and tatty but clean and functional whole hotel could do with a major overhaul but at £40 pp per night we were quite happy
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Egg over cooked but otherwise fine
Cons: WiFi could be improved
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Close to where I needed to be, excellent value for money, good sized single room with breakfast included.
Cons: Hard poached eggs, had to search for a teaspoon for my tea and no personal milk jugs, tiny things and nothing to detract from the fact that this is still excellent value for money.
6.7 Good
Pros: Shower temperature and pressure was very good considering the shower head looks like it's from the 70s (as does the furniture). Could be a great place with some updating.
Cons: The hotel decor is very dated and in need of maintenance. Our room had very worn old furniture and lots of chips/dented wood and paint on the skirting and door frames. Bathroom floor lino looked stained, as did one of the light fittings over the bed. No duvet, only a blanket and sheets. Pillows were very flat and uncomfortable. One pillow had a black mark on the cover. No idea what it was, see photo. Chip on bathroom sink. No shower gel or hand gel. Only cheap soap that leaves skin very slimy-feeling. Luckily we brought our own shower gel etc. We weren't told about food in the hotel restaurant and prices weren't on the room menu. TV was to the side of the bed, making viewing uncomfortable. Better to be hung on the wall at the end of the bed. The hotel lobby areas are in need of repairs - bumps and chips out of the wall corners (obviously where guests have bashed luggage). The hotel was adequate for the few hours we stayed (arrived at 6pm, left at 8am next day), but I wouldn't stay longer. Photos from the room, not outside.
7.5 Good
