Location, convenience to where we wanted to be, friendly and helpful staff. Spectacular view from the restaurant. Bed was a bit small and some extra bedding would have been nice. My wife found the restaurant too cold - but we were there on a Sunday night, late November with snow on the ground and only 1 other couple in there.
Excellent location for a weekend break - and very good value for money. New modern room with luxurious spa facilities included.
Excellent facilities, fantastic staff, outstanding location - one of the best hotels I have had the pleasure of staying in for a long time!
Excellent Cliff top location, views and cliff walks
Breakfast. View. Unfortunately it was raining and a constant 'drip, drip, drip' kept me awake until I opened the window and placed a towel under the drip at 2 O'clock in the morning.
The location is spectacular and the spa was really relaxing. I have stayed there before and by returning its obvious that I like it.
The friendly staff. The beautiful view.
location, cleanliness of rooms and facilities. Nice food. Problem with water took a while to fix.
fantastic relaxing place... wonderful staff...
Location was excellant, staff were friendly, food in the evening was excellant, water pressure for bath/shower was really good, bed was very comfortable Needed more staff in the bars on the Wednesday night - it was so busy that service was slow. Breakfast food suffered from being put out in a buffet: fried eggs were hard and bacon was a bit chewy. Toast was not cooked enough.
very clean warm & comfortable rooms, nice location very convenient for visiting the coast. Breakfast very good but the cold conservatory rather spoiled it.
warm welcome, comfortable well presented rooms
Located in the middle of town. Room small but adequate. The breakfast was fine. We had an attic room and had a bit of trouble getting our luggage up there, no help was offered.
We did not like having to go to the next door guesthouse which was only 2*(and it was evident) for breakfast. This was strange. Would recommend with this reservation.
Quality Fittings- handy for town- Handy for anything in the Pembrkeshire / Ceridigion area- Couldnt fault any of it N/A
Everyone was really friendly and helpful, and our room was beautifully decorated. My only comment would be that the toilet seat didn't really fit - not a huge problem, but caution needed !!!!
Good parking - close to town centre. Have reccomended to family
Excellent service I left my flash pen in my room and the staff had contacted me before I even got chance to ring to see if it was there and post back to me free of charge
Clean and comfortable. Wonderful bathroom. Street noise from main road; limited parking with narrow access; small room.
Excellent decor, well appointed room, superb shower, overall position of hotel ideal We would have liked more bread or pastry items available at breakfast - everything else excellent
Lovely view, quiet. The bed in our double room was extremely hard and low, not very comfortable. Lighting in both our rooms was poor, needs much brighter lights especially in the children's twin room.
Excellent staff - friendly and helpful. Good, locally sourced food, well presented Internet had limited signal also Vodafone signal
Beautiful location. good food, clean comfortable room The choice on the menu was disappointing
Great scenery, excellent food, nice room with a view fantastic, friendly staff No mobile phone signal at all
Room clean tidy pleasant owners First comment from owners we mainly ownly do weddings
The food was excellent and the staff very friendly, highly recommended.
our stay was good the staff friendly ,small restaurant so we were unable to eat there , because they were busy.
Rooms were warm and clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. And dinners were delicious! We thought it was a great hotel
very nyce staff and quiet place
Helpful & Friendly Bed not very comfortable
Spacious Rooms, friendly staff They were busy at breakfast time and were unable to serve our breakfasts at the same time
Fantastic suite, was pleased to find aliving room with leather sofa and big tv!
the informal atmosphere everything was fine
very friendly and comfortable
Have stayed @the Spilman on a number of ocassions & it never fails to satisfy. That we couldn`t stay longer.

Very clean and comfortable aan welcoming
Cleanliness and excellence of facilities None
Excellent food, accomodation and friendliness of owners nothing
Owner very welcoming-friendly family atmosphere and good value. Chef not available at beginning of the week so bar food only although perfectly acceptable-dinner on Wednesday superior when chef there.
Superb food from bar menu. None
The friendliness of all of the staff
Quiet; with pleasent staff No mobile phone reception
Great little find, staff brilliant, roon spotless and modern. food excelient.
Good frendly service, good food ,frendly staff The bed in no one is very soft on the window side .no mobile reception in room
The setting of the hotel is beautiful. The hotel itself is elegant and airy, the staff very friendly. The food was excellent and the hotel is ideally placed for several different walks.
Most delicious meals and the lounge/bar area was very cosy There was a musty smell in the hallway outside our room, as though they had had recent water damage?
The staff were great nothing was too much trouble, great food and plenty of it. The surroudings were excellence.
the ambiance of the period house and its surrounding environment; gardens etc. It was the perfect stop over after along drive from St. Ives Cornwall before sailing back to Ireland
The hotel building is an old castle and sure it looks stunning from outside. Very small, cold and dark rooms. Bed was very unconfortable.
The friendliness of the staff and their help in suggesting places to visit; the cuisine at dinner; the grounds and riverside location. Allowing a dog (not a guide dog) into the dining room during meals. I haven't stayed in a hotel for some years and perhaps this is now standard practice. The dog was quiet and unobtrusive, but as I am not an 'animal person' I was surprised. I didn't complain, and this is not a complaint now.
The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked the hotel last minute and were very plesently suprised when we arrived - a really lovely country manor. We booked a family room (2 aduits and 2 children under 6) and the room was huge. The hoetel is quite old and while our room was very clean the hotel could do with some upgrading of it's facilities. but this is a small thing relative to the overall charm of the place.
the location was very nice, nice room and overall quiet and pleasant. this is a very small and picky complaint, but the rooms were noisy with loose floorboards and wobbly cupboards.
Good restaurant choices, well presented and enjoyable Top floor rooms are very difficult to access for people with mobility problems or even heavy luggage - steep steps, insufficient hand rails, doors opening directly onto stairs.
Excellent food, reasonable rates, superb setting and friendly staff
nice and relaxing great for our purpuse of shopping would stay again clean and tidy
staff was extremely nice and helpful, location was great
best service and food
Convenient location in the town. Adequate private parking. Spacious bedrooms. Good breakfast with plenty of choice.
Staff friendly, room comfortable, suitable for disabled.Good sitting area & bar. Checked in at 1-00pm advised reception I would be working late, and would want something to eat.Told kitchen closed at 9-30pm.I asked about sandwiches these are not available after 5-30pm
Staff went out of way to assist with things such as mobile phone charger loan, secure parking for motorcycle, sandwiches provided after arriving late one evening and restaurant and bar snack facility was closed. First class friendly hotel with excellent facilities.
It is very convenient in the middle of the town. It was comfortable, clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was superb. Room was a bit dated perhaps but that did not spoil my stay.
Ease of access to and from the hotel, no winding around town centre streets to get in and out, although only 5 minutes walk from the centre
The room was perfectly good, clean and comfortable. Reception staff helpful. Handy central location for town, and large private car park. Breakfast was a bit of a shambles. There were a large number of elderly guests staying there when I stayed, so the breakfast staff were quite busy. However, I had to ask several times for coffee and toast. I'm a vegetarian too, so asked for sacrambled eggs. They were happy to do this for me, but about 10 minutes later, a waiter brought out scrambled eggs, dumped them on a nearby table ( a man who also had a beard like me, but no other similarity!) and left. I had to go and retrieve them myself. It was all okay as I wasn't in a particular hurry that morning but if you have to get off for a meeting, it might be a bit frustrating!
Good-sized comfortable well-equipped room, wonderful view, nice helpful staff. Good breakfast. Teamaking facilities with plenty of tea, coffee etc and biscuits. None, although one of the the ceiling lights wasn't working and it would have been better if the windows had been cleaned.
Relaxing ambience, friendly and efficient staff, comfortable accomodation, scrupulously clean, lovely dining room with an excellent menu beautifully cooked and served. Jaw dropping views from the Dining Room and all the bedrooms. NOTHING
Exellent value for money. Staff very friendly. Superb location with seaview.
Excelent Views, Good food and Service
It is very modern and spacious. The view from most room is phenomenal. Excellent value for money. Nothing, it is perfect.
The facilities and room overlooking the golf course and sea is special. The location and the quality of the room
Excellant location, great views, large room.
superb accommodation, superb views, great location
central location to Carmarthen we booked the master bedroom for 2 nights - everything was fine until the Saturday night. Room was immediately above the main bar - no chance of an early night with live music blasting away until 11.30pm - noise was horrendous !! Fried breakfast on the Saturday morning was cold
the room was very well presented and clean. nice size bathroom. it was slightly noisy during the night and early morning
The bed was extremely uncomfortable.
Excellent location and has parking in the back which is limited but good to be safe and out of the way Right on main road and could hear everything that drove past. We stayed during the recent snow storm so 5am gritting was happening and woke us up.
A great hotel in the middle of Carmarthen a bustling town I grew up in great pace to stay when I go back nothing not good
Historic building and friendly staff
not a lot loud music was played until approx 02:00am and we had to phone reception to ask them to turn it off. My 14 year old daughter wanted to go home, there was foul language outside the hotel until early hours. It should not have been advertised as a family friendly hotel it was more like a pub with rooms over the top. Would not stay there again
Excellent location for city centre. Breakfast in Humble Pies across the street. Convenient for train station and bus station. Good clean room and a big bath. Being a city centre hotel, it inevitably suffers from noise on Friday and Saturday especially. We were up quite late anyway and when we went to sleep we were tired so slept through it, but I know others were disturbed so perhaps not good for light sleepers. The master bedroom is especially bad because it is situated over the driveway that goes to the car park at the rear. You can therefore get very loud engine noises from cars, bikes or delivery vans early in the morning so not especially good for lie-ins.
Gwesty cartefol a cymrieg. Bwyd Da a pris resymol iawn. Good value with some steep stairs Dim byd. Nothing major just the steep stairs
