Pros: Everything , was alot better than originally though, staff very nice and would so anything for you
Pros: Like a home away from home, lots of lovely finishing touches, hosts Les & Caroline so helpful, nothing too much trouble, we will definitely stay again fantasic for pets too.
Cons: There's nothing not to like, they've thought of everything
Pros: The property and owner were amazing! The apartment was very spacious, super-clean and very comfy! You instantly feel at home and the new and very modern kitchen made it so easy to prepare small snacks and dishes. The bathrooms and bedrooms were also new, charming and very clean. The Owner was incredibly friendly and made our stay really, really memorable. We are so happy that we made the decision to stay at Aaron Glen Apartments as it was just perfect for our get-away with friends. We can't wait to return next year. Highly recommended!
Pros: Host were Great, Helpful.
Cons: Everything was perfect
Pros: It is a lovely cosy apartment, perfect for a family get together. The whole experience was really pleasant. The Christmas lights added real atmosphere to our stay. Thank you for such a friendly and warm welcome.
Pros: Everything was great beds really comfy, self serve bar a bonus and the breakfast well worth the money
Pros: It was all really good, Carolyn is a great person , i totally liked the house
Pros: First their service was excellent it was a 10/10 . Than the look of the house was exactly what was on their websites. The house was really stunning from the living room, the kitchen and the 2 master bedroom . Great for family holidays. Overall it was the best service and accommodation for us as a family . We really enjoyed our stay
Cons: Nothing at all. Because everything was above and beyond our expectations.
With a stay at Macdonald Houstoun House in Broxburn, you'll be 6.2 mi (9.9 km) from Linlithgow Palace and 6.8 mi (11 km) from Royal Highland Centre. Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and dry cleaning/laundry services.
Pros: A lovely and historic house in Livingston. The staff were all so lovely. The hotel was closing the next day due to the Corvus-19 situation and the staff could not have been more professional despite the trying circumstances. The breakfast was exceptional.
Cons: The room was in the newer part of the hotel and was chilly. The radiator was on but could not be adjusted. The bathroom sink was not clean.
Pros: Breakfast delivered to room bang on time and was only a £5 tray charge as we had breakfast already included. Large selection and generous amounts of everything. All the food was great and every member of staff was very friendly and accommodating.
Cons: Alcoholic drinks (aside from the red and white wine) were overpriced.
Cons: No hot water to have a shower as the boiler broke
Pros: We were upgraded to a feature room and they also allowed us to hold our wedding there as our venue cancelled due to the covid 19 virus pandemic they provided a ceremony room we were allowed to decorate and get married in and we got to have some immediate family and friends to celebrate with us at no extra cost the staff were brilliant and couldn't do enough to help us beautiful gardens for photos they provided more than we could have hoped for and all the staff were excellent especially Amy she saved our day
Pros: Staff were very helpful, wonderful setting and great facilities
Cons: In need of a little upgrading of furniture and fittings. There is a programme of works planned I believe to address these issues.
Pros: The staff at the hotel were outstanding! Andrew the manager is a credit to the company.
Pros: The staff were superb and very friendly and helpful. The gardens are just amazing. The room was big and very comfortable.
Pros: The spa facilities were very nice - although the lack of a hot tub was a little disappointing, and the ladies changing area unusually cramped. One of the drawbacks was that, to access the spa, clients have to walk outside - not ideal in winter months. Also, because afternoon tea is served in the dining rooms in the main hotel, we all had to trek between the two buildings in our robes ... between snow showers! The staff in the spa were lovely, friendly and helpful and the treatments were top class.
Cons: We had a shower over the bath in our room but unfortunately it was not working properly and we were unable to shower there during our stay as the water was completely cold. We notified reception staff about this problem on the first morning of our stay but, sadly, repairs were not able to be made before we left. (We stayed 2 nights.) At check out the receptionist took a note of our complaint about the shower not having been fixed and said that the manager would email us. He never has! Front of house staff were polite and did their best to be helpful but I got the impression that they are not being properly supported from behind the scenes!
Cons: Initially given a run down, small double room with holes on the walls from where a tv had been removed, old heaters in the room as the radiators weren’t working. We asked to be moved as we were looking for a night to relax and watch movies. Swimming pool facilities were disappointing, the female on reception snapped at us when we asked if there were any towel and flung them on the work top (being her only response) After we spent an hour by the pool we went past reception to be told they had sourced us another room in the executive suite. This suit was much better, more comfortable, spacious and had little minis in the bathroom that the previous room didn’t. And thankfully a tv for our night in. We ate in the restaurant, food was average and over priced. We got served by 4 different people, that couldn’t have know if they were coming or going as each one asked us the same questions.
When you stay at The Craigie in Penicuik, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Pentland Hills Regional Park and Rosslyn Chapel (Collegiate Chapel of St. Matthew). Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: I love this hotel when down that way, spotless clean and great food..
Pros: Staying at The Craigie was such a treat. Myself and my colleagues booked one night and we were thrilled with the rooms, the food at the restaurant is superb and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Will definitely be coming back (hopefully on a personal trip next time so we can stay for longer!).
Pros: Staff were very welcoming nothing was to much trouble Great atmosphere, food and drink was good value for money, hotel and room was clean and tidy
Pros: Nice and fresh, bed very comfortable. Breakfast good - but could be improved with Stornoway black pudding.
Cons: No toilet paper in bathroom (must have for husband!) Our friend's cooked breakfast was served before his porridge!
Pros: Everything about this place is amazing if it is possible to fall in love with a Hotel then this is love. the staff , accomadation and the food are ......... well i am not going to tell you. you will have to experience this for yourself. for me traveling around i like a well kept hotel this place will blow you away. dont stay here ..... you MUST stay
Pros: Location, the building itself, friendly/relaxed, shower/toiletries provided, breakfast menu, comfortable bed, warm, plenty car parking
Cons: Wi-fi not working was the only thing, but not a huge issue. First time this has happened when visiting
Pros: The room was of excellent quality and very large.
Pros: Pleasant staff, very good breakfast
Cons: En suite bathroom I had was to small.
Pros: place, clean, facility's like the extra relax room next to the bar. No Smoking!
Cons: the double bed was two single beds against.. I prefere 1 matras 160cmx200cm instad of 2 matrasses 80cmx200cm
Pros: some of the staff were very helpful
Cons: I did not get one full nights sleep because of teh noise outside caused by people going outside to smoke. the no smoking policy is good - but it is not dealt with by pushing people outside - one evening this went on until 3am.
With a stay at Orocco Pier in South Queensferry, you'll be 8.2 mi (13.2 km) from Murrayfield Stadium and 8.5 mi (13.7 km) from Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC). Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage.
Pros: Once again a perfect stay!
Pros: Receptionists very cheery and helpful.
Cons: Waitresses seemed very sullen
Pros: Everything was likable
Pros: The beds were plush and comfy. We enjoyed the ample heating and lovely living room area. There were eateries nearby within walking distance and a great view of the bridge.
Cons: The bathroom drainage was not working well. The showers were splendid but unfortunately we had to cut short our shower. There was no dishwashing liquid and we used 2 plates and some cutlery which had to go into the dishwasher which took 45mins. There was a green light in the bedroom ceiling (fire alarm) which was very bright and uncomfortable.
Pros: Great service from friendly staff. The evening meal was excellent and the menu had a large range of choice. Both of our mains and desserts exceeded our expectations and was beautifully presented. My husband and I had fish (smoked haddock and Sea bass) for our main courses. Both types of fish were fresh and perfectly cooked. Great atmosphere in the restaurant with a beautiful view over the Forth.
Cons: Nothing. We had a great time. Even the weather was good.
Pros: Location was excellent, staff were very friendly
Cons: Breakfast wasn't included
Pros: The room was well furnished with large TV, mini bar and bay window with a sea view. It was also very large compared to a standard hotel room. Staff were friendly and happy to help. Facilities were good and the restaurant is excellent.
When you stay at The Bridge Inn in Newbridge, you'll be near the airport, within a 10-minute drive of Royal Highland Centre and Edinburgh Park. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Owing to government instructions to close the following day, I found myself the ONLY guest staying that night after all other bookings had cancelled. The staff were fabulous providing an excellent evening meal, showing me how I could let myself out in the morning without tripping the alarm, and generally making sure I was comfortable during my stay. The room facilities were rustic furniture, but made up for by the inclusion of a coffee machine and kettle both already filled with water before my arrival, and a bottle of drinking water on the table in my room. The view of the canal from both windows in my room was an unexpected treat. The ample free parking right next to the building was just what I like. The bathroom suite was modern and the shower was a delight.
Cons: The radiator in my bedroom was working but the heated towel rail in the bathroom appeared not to be. Thus the room was a little bit colder than I would have liked. The single glazing windows also appeared to be a little cold and draughty and although thick curtains were hanging at both I found it difficult to get them to close and cover the window recesses. The basin in the bathroom appeared only to deliver tepid up to scalding water, dangerous, and not pleasant for brushing your teeth. Now I understood why the kettle and coffee machine were already filled before my arrival. And also the need for the bottled water in the room.
Pros: Clean with nice staff
Cons: Noisy road and old windows banged in the wind and rain
Pros: Excellent dinner and breakfast. Nice décor in rooms
Cons: Found the slipper bath very difficult to get in and out of for an older person. Large cobweb on ceiling and blind in bathroom stained
Pros: Grate staff!
Pros: Location and food
Cons: Lovely location right next to the canal. Friendly staff and restaurant was really good.
With a stay at Riccarton Inn in Edinburgh, you'll be a 4-minute drive from Heriot Watt University and 7 minutes from Edinburgh Park. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Lovely cosy place for food and drinks staff very helpfull
Cons: Rooms were very small
Pros: I have stayed here quite a few times. It is quiet, clean, close to amenities and public transport. The food is great and the staff are extremely helpful.
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like.
Pros: The bed was REALLY comfortable. Despite the tired state of the room - best night's sleep in a long time. Updating the room would've resulted in a high score across the board. Staff were also exceptionally helpful, welcoming and responsive
Cons: The decor in the room and bathroom was tired and needed updating. Unexpected and disappointing as the decor of the pub and restaurant is good quality. The cost of the room was high considering this and when compared to other nearby hotels and inns.
Pros: Clean if basic room with good breakfast. Good for the money.
Cons: Given the price I paid, nothing really.
Pros: Comfy bed Wi-Fi worked well Good breakfast especially size of establishment
Cons: Lacking some maintenance in the room I was in eg sink is cracked. Shower looks old but functioned
Cons: The room was meant to be for a disabled person u could not even get a wheel chair in the room very small and the room was very dusty everywhere and we paid £64 for the room
Pros: Nice carpet and decor, tea and coffee, heater in the bathroom, comfortable stay.
Pros: Good location, great little bar with a good atmosphere, evening meal was good, service and friendliness of staff excellent, breakfast not cheap but kept us going all day
Cons: Rooms and bathroom small, bed was uncomfortable and very low, shower needs to be updated, sink is tiny could hardly get my hands in, on entering the room there was a bad smell as though someone had been smoking in the room, the staff came with air freshener as soon as I reported it

Pros: The breakfast was top draw, more than enough of everything and well cooked.
Pros: Bedroom was huge, very comfortable.
Cons: Not offered breakfast when we sat at table, had to ask to be served.
Pros: The view from room.
Cons: Staff unfriendly. Breakfast items ran out quickly on buffet table and when mentioned to staff no further supplies were brought out. Wouldn't stay again.
Pros: Wonderful historic inn with spacious very clean and well kitted out room with very comfortable bed. Continental Buffet Breakfast was great! We dined in the restaurant on Saturday night! We both had outstanding meals with great service! The staff are really helpful and friendly! A great Scottish welcome! We will definitely stay hear again when we next visit family in the area!
Cons: Not applicable
Pros: location, parking
Cons: the mattress in room 12 needs changed only one but important thing, but I must say it will not stop me from returning
Pros: Our turret room was spectacular.
Pros: The beauty of this lovely old Inn with a view from my bedroom money couldn't buy
Pros: Was ideal for our overnight stay.

Pros: Location was very good for the occasion we were there for.
Cons: Although I was notified that they were short staffed the room wasn't clean or maintained for the 2 nights we were supposed to stay as we left after the first night.
Pros: Staff welcoming. Room comfortable. Well worth the money to get room with a view. Loved our stay.
Pros: Bed was great - Moira was a super host and breakfast was delicious
Cons: WiFi was a little slow and shower didn't get great water pressure
Pros: Superb location and phenomenal welcome.
Cons: Bed a little firm (only a preference thing), rooms were a bit dusty in places, however by no mean dirty!! Just the nature of a 300 yr+ building.
Pros: This property is really conveniently located to take in all South Queensferry has to offer. The room was clean and comfortable. The owner was brilliantly knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Pros: Fantastic location easily walkable to restaurants, pubs, and historic attractions. The owner was so accommodating to us and to our little one - would definitely come back!
Located in Roslin, Chapel Cross Guest House is within a 15-minute drive of Royal Infirmary and Edinburgh Park. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Time spent in Edinburgh coincided with Fringe Festive so we loved returning to the Rosslyn Inn for the peace & serenity at the end of the day. Pub food good value for money. Definatley recommend it and Rosslyn Chapel a must do...amazing.
Cons: The room decor not to my taste....a little dark. Bathroom needs renovating but everything functioned so not a hugh issue.
Pros: Very kind service, nice stay.
Pros: Perfect place for us to stay when we attended a function in nearby Penicuik with a bus stop right outside the building. The room was spotless and beds and bedding very comfortable. Plenty of toiletries to use and lovely white towels. Also a kettle, tea, coffee and biscuits which were most appreciated. The host was lovely and on hand to offer any advice you may require.
Cons: Shower head needs a little attention as it tends to drop down. (Forgot to mention it to the owners).
Pros: Decor in the room was great, room bright and cheerful. En-suite had plenty of towels and toiletries provided and the shower gave us plenty of hot water. Also a kettle in the room with 2 bottles of water and a complementary packet of cookies which was a nice touch. There was even an ironing board in the wardrobe. We arrived late in evening and there was a clear, polite sign on door explaining where to go to get key from pub opposite. Member of staff from pub was polite and helpful in showing us our room, despite the pub being very busy.
Cons: If I was being very picky - the glasses provided in the room were pretty dirty.
Pros: Good location, ideal for my needs
Cons: No Problems
Cons: No heating and no hot water during stay. Cold rooms therefore.
Pros: Extremely comfortable bed.
Cons: Shower wasn't great very small cubicles
Pros: Liked the cafe on site. Liked the restaurant so close by. Bus stops right outside to Edinburgh £1.70 one way.
Cons: Ideal place if your visiting the Rosslyn Chapel. Good restaurant right over the road. Don't think anyone else there it was very quiet. Staff very helpful. Bed comfortable. A few creaky floorboards but you expect it in a old building. I do think there needs to be a light on the end of landing before the steps down at night it was dark and a dark carpet. For the money they charge it's spot on.
Located in Penicuik, The Allan Ramsay is in the historical district, within a 15-minute drive of Pentland Hills Regional Park and Rosslyn Chapel (Collegiate Chapel of St. Matthew). Featured amenities include luggage storage and a library. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Warm, friendly and homely, very friendly nothing to much trouble , lovely staff
Cons: Traffic noise
Pros: Clean, comfortable, unfussy and friendly! Lovely real fires in the bar and restaurant. Breakfast was exceptional. Rooms were a little on the cool side - but it was one of the coldest night of the year.
Pros: Breakfast excellent, everything made fresh as you ordered, all ingredients local to the area, the porridge was even better then I make. Kenny and Rosemary could not do enough for you,
Cons: The weather on the day I was leaving,
Pros: Hot food at breakfast was good but no fruit of any kind was provided. We are not dog people and to have a dog circling our table at breakfast was not our scene. The Dinner choice was limited and we felt that the steak pie in particular was over salted and overpriced.
Cons: The on button for our shower did not stay on with a result that one had to have one hand on the on the button to keep the water running. The roads for East Lothian are some of the worst we have come across. We came back from Haddington- the rural route -and only managed to avoid the plethora of potholes as it was daylight.

Pros: Magnificent Cottage: the wonderfull atmosphere of traditional Scotland and the proximity of the station with direct access to the center of Edinburgh. Amazing views of the hills, the fireplace, and the friendly and caring owners!
Pros: Seating in lounge to low and not very Coffey for people over 60 but rest of cottage was lovely and very qwiat would recommend and stay again
Pros: We had a wonderful stay at the cottage which exceeded our expectations. The owner was friendly and welcoming, the cottage is clean and comfortable, set in the most beautiful garden and in a perfect location for exploring Edinburgh & nearby.
Pros: This is a Lovely cottage in the middle of beautiful grounds of well maintained gardens and small woodland. It is easily accessible as it is located on one level , with good sized parking and in convenient location close to village amenities and train station. The cottage is well equipped with modernised bathroom and kitchen.
Cons: The only point I could find that could be improved is the seating in the front room which could do with a larger sofa for better comfort and ease of use ( especially for elderly people - we used instead the two comfy rocking chairs that are as well available )
Pros: Lovely property and the owner Jill was very helpful and accommodating. We were attending a wedding at kirknewton stables and it was a 10 minute walk home. Perfect location
Pros: A nice peacefull and brand new decorated cottage. Beayifull garden shared with the owners. Great eclxperience. We had a car but there Is a train station not far.

Pros: Friendly host, very good vegetarian breakfast, allthough salmon was on the menu....
Pros: Great place to stay, Clare was an exceptional host and attention to detail was superb!
Pros: Actually, I liked everything. So comfortable and the breakfast was such a treat. Clair helped me get bags up and down the stairs. She could not have been nicer.
Cons: Through no fault of the staff, I had difficulty finding location at first. The owner was very understanding and helped me get settled in, even booking a place for me to eat and directions. It turned out the next day, the location was convenient and close to return my auto rental.
Pros: How clean and tidy the property was and the host Claire is fab.
Cons: Nice modern and every need taken care of.
Pros: Very comfortable and welcoming. Excellent breakfast.
Pros: Superb stay with a espectacular breakfast and amenities. Kind welcome and comfortable room for a family with 2 or 3 children. I definitely recommend it.
Pros: Claire was friendly and welcoming. The shortbread and Scotch in the room was a nice treat. The breakfast was super!
Cons: There was no restaurant in walking distance, although there was plenty of choice within a few minutes drive

Pros: This was the second time we have stayed here. James and Angela are excellent hosts nothing is too much trouble. It is set in a beautiful location and James’ breakfasts are to die for.
Pros: Very welcoming owner, comfortable & spacious accommodation, 20 minutes away from Edimburgh Airport, excellent breakfast, cozy and warm atmosphere
Cons: WI FI was free only for 500 mb per day per device, a bit hard to find in the dark hours (however owner was kind enough to send an email with instructions the day before our arrival), please be warned that booking.com preauthorises credit card one day prior to arrival, but payment of the entire stay is then required directly by the owner
Pros: Breakfast and location were excellent.
Cons: There could have been some soap in the bathroom, not just a tiny little bottle of wash cream.
Pros: friendly host. good for the family. great options for breakfast. amazing views.
Cons: nothing to grumble about. was a tiny bit chilly in the room.
Pros: James and Angela were an absolute pleasure! They took great care of us and offered all the amenities as well as tours of the area and info on where to go. Thanks so much for the lovely stay!!
Pros: Great location would defiantly book again
Pros: Scottish Hospitality at its finest!James the host was most welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. The location was beautiful,so tranquil, with fabulous walks on which to take our dog. Parkhead House was extremely pet friendly. The view from our room was picture perfect with deer, pheasants and other wildlife close by.Our room was extremely comfortable, the beds were like sleeping on clouds, everywhere was spotlessly clean and there were well thought out little touches such as usb ports, hot water bottles, bath robes, minature Whiskey,to name but a few.In the dining room there were stocks of snack items and drinks of which you could help yourself to if needed. All was asked was a donation to charity, which was a lovely touch. The main kitchen could also be used by guests if needed. It really felt like home from home. The breakfast selection was wide and varied with all diets catered for.The Full Scottish Breakfast comes highly recommended.Although rural in its location,Parkhead House is well situated for exploring the area and all it has to offer and travelling to central Edinburgh was easy.We could not recommend Parkhead House highly enough. We both came home from our short break feeling totally refreshed.
Cons: Nothing negative at all!
