Very clean and tidy Nothing really
The tranquility, wonderful views, the friendliness of the staff and the fresh, well prepared and presented food. The shower was very poor and the room could have been bigger for a double room.
Its location. Money has been spent on the building The beds are too short for anyone over 6ft and all bar twin beds in one room have wooden or metal bed ends. Rooms poorly furnished and badly laid out.
Friendly staff and evening meal. Furniture was old and outdated.
The hotel is clean and tastefully decorated to a high standard Only one tiny negative comment - the shower was poor
Best breakfast that we had while in our stay in Scotland. Best Haggis and Blood Sausage, hands down. Great breakfast. Location, was somewhat hard for us to find. Old buildings, so doors and floors loud as people enter at night. Didn't feel safe. At one point someone came to the wrong door and or it sounded like they was at our door. Scared my wife badly. Didn't sleep muc
The hotel was in a good location, rooms very comfortable, breakfast was good, quiet and peaceful. T.V. Wasn't working in my room, but as we were only staying overnight this wasn't a problem, had we been staying longer, I would have mentioned it. These things should be checked by staff on a regular basis.
The bed has seen better days and no shower
a nice place in a wonderful landscape it is a little old fashioned and maybe needs a little amelioration
Room was available and adequate. No television in the room!!!
The beautiful Isle of Skye and the friendly, helpful staff that tried to make the best of the situation. They were clearly embarassed about the state of the hotel. The owner should be ashamed of himself. We couldn't open our room because the lock was worn out. After an instruction, we finally managed to open it. The room was really tired and dirty. The linoleum in the bathroom was completely rotten and the shelf above the sink had broken off. The owner is clearly a Scotsman, because nothing broken is repaired. I found a woodlouse in the bathroom. After we got back from dinner, my wife found a second one crawling around on the bed. She wanted to leave immediately, but it was too late to find another place to stay, so she put her pants into her socks and was lying in bed with her clothes on and left the light on. At 4:30 AM the people of the room above us started walking around, which made an annoying squeaking noise that kept me awake.
Difficult access to Portree
Good breakfast No shower
Good breakfast, nice staff Not the quality for the price. Water leaks. TV didn't work. Fire alarm at 6:00am.
We were dissapointed with the breakfast.
Excellent breakfast No signing from road to indicate that there was a small car park at the rear. There were three entrances to the hotel from this car park none of which were marked as Private or Staff Only. This led to an embarrassing situation when someone, who did not identify himself, as good as accused us of being about to carry out some criminal act. The reception was unfriendly and failed to indicate that there was a lift. This meant that we ( both over 70 ) had to carry our bags upstairs and along what seemed interminable corridors, which were narrow and extremely claustophobic. The stairs, corridors and our room were all extremely shabby - worn paintwork, shabby carpets, locks that didn't work, etc. The room itself fell far below any that we have encountered in many dozen similarly priced establishments
None A very tired Hotel needs a complete revamp
No hot water available
Food in restuarant was excellent Corridors were damp and musty smelling
it's location and the parking space (in front of the hotel). rooms are a bit dull.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would have liked fresh towels daily. Breakfast choice of full english was a take it or leave it situation, also as a diabetic it would have been nice to be offered a sugar substitute like Canderal or Splenda to have with my cereal.
Nice warm hotel that had atmosphere. Did nit feel like a chain hotel that could be any where. Felt I was in the Highlands All was satisfactory
Good location for out day trip tio Skye Rooms were a bit shabby and could do with being decorated. Waffles at breakfast were served burt side down and had been cooked on the same grill as the kippers
Ecellent breakfast and service The walls were pretty thin, the neibouring guests were veryy noisy. Thought the tarrif was a little bit pricy (by £5-£10) especially for end of winter season.
Good restraunt downstairs, close to everything, guy at the front desk was helpful. Room was clean but not immaculate, ie stuff left in closet etc nothing bad though, the bedding and bathroom both very clean.
Good food Shower door damaged. Dripping wash basin tap Room ventilation poor
As a Scot, it was very pleasant to stay at a hotel which was obviously very much involved with the local community.
