Location only The ratings and description for this hostel are misleading. It's is not a hotel but a number of buildings put together as a shoddy bed and breakfast with nasty smelling budget rooms . It has no restaurant no bar and in the proud words of the owner " no stars"The breakfast is over priced and as merely hostel it should not charge hotel prices. Beware the budget rooms which the owner says proudly are buried under the terrace and very very small. The description says all rooms have double beds but this is untrue. Apparently the budget rooms are not big enough. The locals we spoke to were embarrassed by the poor reputation of the place . You may see three stars and think you are getting a deal . In fact it has no stars and you are paying way too much.
Comfortable quiet location of appartment buildings. Very well organized hotel and friendly professional staff. Resort is located on Jasmund which has nicest landscape of Ruegen. Breakfast buffet open till 12:00. Roomy appartments. Most appartments buildings are quite far from hotel building, depending on weather one needs car to get there. Daily cleaning is not part of appartment booking and has to be booked separately.
The pools were relaxing, excellent staff, wonderful meals
New-looking urbanization. Nice area close to the coast, great for relaxing, taking long walks, cycling in nature and combine it with the thermae (sauna, pool, hammam). I enjoyed most the thermae which is free for hotel guests, they have a great sauna 'intensive experience' mode, really for sauna lovers. Dinning is good, you can choose between a regular buffet (for regular budgets) or a more classy restaurant. There is a small town close by with a couple of super markets, nothing much for the rest. Absolutely all the information in the hotel is in German (also emergency info). The personnel speaks poor English and nobody speaks English in the Thermae (just across the hotel). Also, it is quite far from other services e.g. a pharmacy, a bank (we had to drive 20kms to find one). It is not at all targeted for international visitors. You can't get there easily, no public transport (in or out).
Breakfast was fabulous. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was great - I did a lot of hiking while I was there. The pool was also enjoyable and clean. The hotel was warm. It didn´t matter that I left the windows open.
great breakfast buffet, access to spa included in hotel price uncomfortable pillows, camp with loud music at night on a field next to the hotel
Our room had a balcony with a great view on the Baltic Sea. The indoor pool was great. The restaurant had a godd menu including local fish specialties. Breakfast was very good, great selection of bread, cold cuts, cheese. Breakfast was served on the top floor of the hotel with a pectacular view of the sea front.
Vi har fått et fint rom, med stor plas til familien vår. Frokost var veldig god med stort utvalg av mat og veldig hyggelig og hjelpsomt personel, altid til stedet. Nei
the loacation, the swimming pool
Hotel staff was willing to help.
Nott so hard to find parking places as other visitors has written. Ask at reception and the will give you permission to park at a big parking spot at the nearby neighbour hotel
The rooms were small yet cozy. The location was perfect. We were able to walk to the sea. The breakfast buffet was great. The view from the breakfast room was breath taking.
Distance to ferry. Viue over ahrbour
good as is should be for the price. No buzz, no surprises
This is a nice hotel situated quite close to the Sassnitz port. The rooms were nice, though the TV was ancient and tiny. The breakfast was quite good. The indoor pool was very nice, although families with children tend to receive dour stares from the older hotel guests. It was a bit pricey, though this is more a function of the area than the hotel specifically.
The hotel was very comfortable. I found it easily: it was a short walk down the hill from the railroad station. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was affordable.
close to railway station, view of sea, decorations with maritime themes room was a little small
Though it was in the towncentre it was very quiet during nights
very nice clean hotel with excellent food, staff, location. Enjoyed our stay before the ferry to Sweden no
central position in Sassnitz, clean, comfortable, reasonable price, parking, nice, big room
Large, nice and clean rooms, they serve breakfast early in the morning before the Ferries leaves.
The room was clean, located in the city center, very close to the railway station, supermarket, shops and restaurants, and have a very nice view of the seaside. I like the architecture of the hotel in general. Overall, good value for money. I can understand to have the receptionist was not prepared for the foreign guests, as most of the tourists in the city are Germans. Also understandable to have surprised looks from the waitresses and guests at the table when we, Asian family tourist, entering the restaurant...nice experience :)
The veiw, the breakfast, the staff the sheet (under) was not comfortable. And when you open the door to the hotel you meet the smell of cigaretts.....In a KURhotel!
High and professional quality, both the staff, kitchen and room
It is a nice hotel in the centre of Sassnitz. Easy to park the car.Everything in Sassnitz is within walkingdistance from the hotel. The pool they offer their guests to use is a nice service which was included in the price of the room.
Excellent breakfast, spacious rooms, nice restaurant. For dinner I recommend sitting near the restaurant / bar Brasserie.
The friendly staff, the location, and the reasonable rates. The rooms were clean and bright.
Very pleasant outlook. Easy walk to the seafront and to the nearby National Park. Good breakfast.
Reception staff were very helpful. Breakfast was good in pleasant ambiente. The hotel has a lift, which small hotels often lack - and it was easy to transfer luggage to and from the car to the room - well designed and organised! The hotel was arguably the best in Sassnitz to our taste. However, Sassnitz does not have a sandy beach - compare Binz (a touristic jewel but very overcrowded). Nevertheless Sassnitz is the gateway to the national park. The town needs to exploit this fact more and organise itself accordingly - notably lacking was off-road cycle access to the national park. from Sassnitz.
I went with a group of five people. We all enjoyed staying at the hotel. The restaurant in the basement was good too. When booking, I had read that the breakfast bar wasn't replenished very quickly but we didn't experience any problems. If I go back to Ruegen I would try and book into the same hotel.
The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was very helpful and most spoke at least some English. Yes, their English was much much better than my German. We were able to rent bikes and sit outside in the beach area and eat at the restaurant.
Our room had an interesting layout and was very comfortable. We got to peek into another room and it also seemed to have an interesting, yet different-from-ours, layout. The hotel was central to everything we wanted to do: walking to the chalk cliffs, the ocean, and restaurants. The front desk seemed understaffed. When we arrived, no one was there and we needed to look for that person. She was very helpful once she was located.
I enjoyed the cozy feeling of the hotel, the warm smiles of the people there and the fantastic sight of the Baltic Sea I had from the room. Nice everything!
Good restaurant in basement
cleanliness and hotel staff was excellent
Friendly staff, on board bicycle rental, great value for money. Next door is an abandoned building from DDR times, but it did not really bother.
Closeness to ferry connection and cities. Besides that the calm surroundings. We were a bit discouraged to hear that the pool was in Sassnitz. I understood on the site that it was. But in the end it was nice as we did have to go out to eat.
the staff were wonderful
In spite of the Spartan outlook the hotel was very nicely renovated.
The hotel was really clean. It seemed newly rennovated. The reception closes at 7pm. The location is quite bad, down a back road away from the sea and you have to have a car to get to any local amenities.
Quiet. Good breakfast. Off the main road but still close to ferry. Good location for walking and biking trips
The split level apartment was very comfortable and was a real home from home. The facilities were excellent and it made our stay very enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is great if you are taking bikes and as it is a great base to explore the area from. Beautiful, beautiful view out to sea!
breakfast, rooms the staff do not speak English, there's no information in English in this hotel at all. Only for Germans.
Close to the ferry No breakfast served until 8 am. No possibility to change reservation free of charge.
Location close to beach and ferry harbour. Sufficient parkingspace. Stonehard beds. Unfriendly and unmotivated staff. We were not even allowed to use the toilet when we came to collect our luggage a few hours after check-out.
good and friendly reception, nice italian restaurant, cheap, good room, privacy (separate entrance to the room from outside) A bit poor breakfast, the location is not bad, but it is not directly near seashore, but there is a road with many autos in between, so not so wild as one could assume from the description and pictures, staff at the reception did not speak english
Toured the island I thought the hotel was very nice! Our final morning at the hotel, our car (ford mustang) had what appeared to be about 50 paint balls marking, housekeeping helped clean off.
Good location on the east side cost. Price ok, but the cleanliness is on demand. Anyway we asked to clean our room, but they didn't it! I recommend this hotel only for a week end and not for longer stay.
Nice, spacious and clean room at a very affordable price. Perfect service and contact with the hotel staff (however, the welcome letters could be in English for foreign customers ;-)). The breakfast very simple for its price.
Quiet location, friendly staff
Smal "local" Hotel/Resturant, Sagard is a smal town so dont expect to much city life.
Nice, kind, flexible service, clean rooms. The Hungarian kitchen was very good. Also recommended to visit the remnants of the old "Kurpark" next to the hotel after having the good dinner in the restaurant. Relaxed location.
Exceptional clean, cosy family-run hotel, nice restaurant
Relatively small hotel on the country side with clean, comfortable and large rooms. Moderate rates during the main season. Minimalistic breakfast with no regional specialties like fish or luxury food like scrambled eggs with bacon. The breakfast would rather fit into the hostel class of service:every day the same assortment and enough to still your hunger.
The room was clean and bright. The breakfast was good. Compared with the hotels in Sassnitz, it was a good value. If you don't have a car, the location is not good. It is about 1 km to the train station, and the train comes by once an hour (less on weekends). In spite of the name, there is no market nearby - only the restaurant, a drugstore, and a bakery. The proprietors don't speak English, so even though I was overcharged 5 euro per day on my bill for the extra bed, I could not contest it.
Nice, clean hotel, well situated. No english speaking service, no english menu in restaurant.
Service from Staff
The hotel staff were very friendly. The room was very clean, spacious, well maintained and practical for travellers. The hotel's restaurant served excellent food; and very good spread for breakfast.
