Pros: Great location, decent breakfast, friendly host in a nice alpine city.
Cons: The WiFi was terrible and not usable for most things, and this is a big minus as for me it's a must have when I'm traveling, so I would rather have this mentioned on booking.com to know to search for a different hotel. The information on booking.com said there are free toiletries in the room, but even the soap container next to the sink was empty, and the shower didn't even have a container. Wouldn't be a big issue if this would be known from advance.

Pros: It is beeing in a fairy tale. I believe surrounding is in a better shape when spring arrives ..well much nature and much to do
Pros: The place is great, amazing views. Real castle. It was a bit scary to walk at the evening for mu little dauthers)))
Cons: breakfast was goog but not enought various. No wifi, but that is better, you have more time to spend with family
Pros: It was a very quirky place to stay at with amazing views. How many people can say they’ve stayed in a castle?? It was clean and the food was nice. Staff were lovely and it was good for the price.
Cons: The bed wasn’t the most comfortable and there were no curtains at the window therefore the light came in first day break.
Pros: The old castle is an oasis for the ones who want to escape the city. The bats inside the hallway are beautiful, all is surrounded by a great harmony between human and nature.
Cons: A lot of stairs until last floor, my back is killing me even now...But...it worth...the rooms from last floor have also a nice view and that friendly bats... Also take care of the road...in night is a little hard to reach it, but with GPS will be Ok.
Pros: We absolutely loved our stay at Burg Plankenstein. The place is magical! We kept discovering more and more exciting features of the place. We were geeked continuously by the fact that we slept in a real castle. The decor is eclectic, but tasteful and fun. We also loved the garden. Staying at Burg Plankenstein was the best part of our vacation.
Cons: We could have used a fridge in the room and maybe wi-fi. Nowadays, wi-fi is almost impossible to live without. We look up everything online.
Pros: Friendly staff, fascinating milieu
Cons: WIFI not available in the rooms
Pros: The fact it is a REAL castle makes the experience exceptional. The castle is beautifully decorated, kept immaculately clean, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We could not get enough of the gorgeous scenery and the attractiveness of the castle. Every corner hides a different surprise. The facilities are still under renovation, but the owners are doing a fabulous job. Breakfast is included in the price, and it did not disappoint.
Cons: We could have used a small fridge in the room. Wi-fi in each room would also be welcomed.

Pros: Very welcoming staff, spacious room, nice authentic design of the resto, food in the restaurant, nice breakfast
Cons: Slippery bathroom
Pros: The excellent menu and the quality of traditional dishes.
Cons: Traffic noise is a problem if your room faces the road - ours did.
Pros: Breakfast was copious with much choice. Staff was helpful but unhurried. Scenic locality. German was the only language spoken - not surprisingly - but my rudimentary attempts to communicate were met with patient good humour and eventual success. The accommodation was surprisingly spacious and warm. Good value for money. Plentiful onsite parking for free.
Cons: The smell of tobacco permeated much of the ground floor apart from the breakfast room but didn't find its way upstairs
Pros: Everything was very nice. Clean, cozy, nice people
