Britannia International Hotel, located on the Canary Wharf outside of the congestion zone of central London, sets itself apart yet is easily accessible to major attractions in the heart of the city. As one of the first hotels on Canary Wharf, the four-star Britannia International sits right alongside the water on the London Docklands, providing unrivaled views of London’s cityscape.
Services and Amenities
The hotel offers a range of standard and executive rooms and full suites. Complimentary Wi-Fi makes it easy to keep in touch with those at home, while a fully equipped gym, indoor pool, and spa tub are accessible for a very inexpensive surcharge. A drink at the Conservatory Bar is recommended, with its sweeping waterside views, while Friday's Night Club offers drinks and dancing. Jenny's Carvery Restaurant serves traditional cuisine at reasonable prices, and the aptly named Pizzeria cooks up a range of Italian-inspired dishes.
Britannia International Hotel is ideally situated to take advantage of London’s exceptional public transportation network, with several Underground stations just across the water. Jubilee Park and the O2 arena are right nearby. Attractions within easy reach by public transportation include the must-see Tower of London and the London Dungeon, while the unique location of the London Docklands is also a fascinating district, in and of itself, to explore during a visit to the city.
The location was good, reasonably close to Canary Wharf, and the cost was less than newer hotels in the area.
The hotel is a bit down at heels, worn carpet, noisy hard bed. No extras included, £7 a day for internet, £10 for a breakfast buffet that is nothing to rave about. Considerable construction in the area which makes getting around difficult (room service and one of the restaurants had an unnamed emergency and was closed).
Great staff. WiFi problems, Gym closed, pool closed for part of week, Overall still a great deal. If you are a typical american traveler this may not be for you. If you want to be close to Canary Wharf or the financial companies this is great. As the y finish rehab I expect it to get better and better. I will stay again.
Wifi internet frequent breakdowns
the room was best
breakfast was very disorganised. no clean tables. not enough staff.
Breakfast was chaotic had to ask staff for various things.torn wall paper in room. air condition noisy all night.
Very pleasant suuroundings. The room was booked as 'executive suite' and wasn't as big as we had anticipated,(the two beds necessarily pushed together) although the jacussi was good. View over the water from the bar was lovely. Breakfast was good.
It is convenient for the O2
The staff were very unhelpful and breakfast was a scrum.
My room was entred 3 times in the morning by a member of staff and not even a know or apology was heard!!
Only stayed for one night as watching a concert at near by O2, did'nt use any of hotel facilities but hotel seemed very good. Very near O2 stadium hich was great for our needs.
Not much else happening arounf hotel and alot of building work still going on
The wait staff at the pizza bar gave excellent service.
Rooms were dated. The bathroom on the 2nd floor had peeling paint, the tub faucet in room 510 leaked on to the floor, no adaptors plugs in rooms for international travelers. Computer room was out of service for the duration of our stay. No valet service available. This hotel should be 1-2 stars at most. The staff at the hotel avoided eye contact. Did not recieve value for my money.
Helpfulness of staff. Convenience of location. They provide a good service for business travel, with relatively efficient check-in and check-out.
Bed quite uncomfortable, I would expect better than two narrow singles pushed together for a double, and the bedding itself wasn't comfortable.
