The friendly staff and the amazing decoration
The bathrooms needs to be more modernBest hotel in London
Charing Cross is in a great location for touring London. It sits directly next to the tube stop of the same name for quick access. Located on the Strand, it is in close proximity to museums, theater, restaurants, and historical sites. Friendly staff!
The room was simply far too small to operate from. Tiny, tiny, tiny. Very limited closet space. No room for our luggage. I've traveled extensively through Europe and I fully understand that rooms are smaller, but this was unbearable.Charing Cross is an attractive, clean hotel with friendly staff located in the heart of London. A great spot for touring the city on foot or by tube - the hotel is immediately adjacent to the Charing Cross station. A very nice - but very pricey - restaurant serves guests a substantial breakfast (we didn't try it for dinner). Our only - but very important - disappointment was the room size. The 3 most important things/assets: LOCATION, LOCATION, & LOCATION! but read on below... I discovered gym later which has access from 1, not both elevators and that was small but very well appointed and spotless.
Size of room, shower/bath are up to European standards but not 4-star for US standards. Nonetheless I would definitely return. Superior. This hotel was a premium find for me on a name-your-own-price submission and a steal for the overall experience and access to best parts of London within walking distance. Staff was very good- (I did not try breakfast/restaurant and there are too many nearby options to compete) This hotel is steps from Trafalgar Sq, Mall, Embankment/Thames, Whitehall, near Covent Garden... too many great finds nearby to list. Superior.
Nice staff and location
The pillows smelled very strange. I could only use the extra pillow in the closet.
The location cannot be beat for this hotel - right in the center of everything we wanted to do.
Really nothing not to like - being nitpicky, the shower leaked on the floor of the bathroom, but that was the extent of the negative. We had read mixed things about the hotel so were prepared for the worst, but experienced none of the negative things we'd read about. I'm always nervous about booking through a site that is not directly through the hotel, but we had absolutely no problems. We were celebrating an anniversary so asked beforehand about the possibility of being upgraded, and it worked out and we had a lovely deluxe king on the sixth floor. There was some noise from the street, but it's also a very public and crowded location, but never had any issues getting rest. The bed was comfortable, the view spectacular, we had no issues with toiletries (soap, shampoo, etc.) that we had read about elsewhere. The staff was friendly and helpful and we...
