Room and bathroom very small. Room and furniture required some TLC.
This is a good location that's fairly residential, albeit further away from central london & tourist sites than I originally thought, especially due to traffic.
Online, it seemed like a clean, nice & relatively modern hotel. In real life, it's actually just an old, dingy side-business linked to the bar that's on the ground floor. There isn't even a normal reception; everything is literally done at the bar, so it's kind of awkward. There's also a lot of smoking around the premises & people had also smoked in my room. The floors are creaky & old; in some parts it feels like the floor might cave in. The drapes are old & heavy. The rooms in general are quite dark. Everything was relatively clean, but it was just older & grungier than I expected. It also didn't help that when I went to shower, the shower was clogged & didn't drain properly.
I can't fault the staff at this place, they did absolutely everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible considering it was 38°. The guys did their best to go to Tesco and get a new fan for the room but they had ran out. In the end they provided us with a broken fan that we managed to balance on a chair to provide a little relief. They really did all they could.
Out of their control was the fact that I stayed on Thursday 25th of July and it was 38°, unfortunately there was no air con and the fan wasn't working. We showered in the morning and the water wasn't draining so there was a 3 min limit before the bathroom potentially flooded.
Clean, nice location however didn’t realise upon booking that it is quite a walk to the underground especially with luggage
The room was extremely hot although I’m aware the weather was very hot at the time. This was not helped however by the fact that I couldn’t open my window and the fan I was given was weak so didn’t help very much to be honest.
Nice place and location. The staff is very friendly and also helpful. Breakfast is great.
