Clean, fresh, brightly decorated, comfortable, friendly and efficient staff. The room was very small and quite noisy (next to airconditioning plant).
Proximity to tube and reasonable price Noise from other rooms, no lounge or bar space
The room was warm, very clean and comfortable. The shower had loads of hot water and again very clean.
Modern hotel, central for sightseeing proposes Maintenance is poor
Good location, good size of the room, small kitchen in the room, hot water and good temperature in the room The room was in the ground flor and near to door and in the morning noice from door was too big
Impressively well run and clean You really should learn how to make tea. Tea-pots and boiling water are not too difficult to provide.
Modern, sleek appearance of rooms...loved the art, although the rooms could have more items on the wall. Loved the self-serve breakfast with a multitude of food options. Biscuits for tea and coffee would have been a nice option for the tea tray in the room. Also, there was no flat sheet on the bed; however, there was a fitted sheet and a blanket, which was slightly disconcerting because hotels do not always launder their blankets. I wondered if I would be sleeping under a dirty blanket so my partner and I chose to sleep on top of the blanket for that reason.
Excellent room with beautiful large bathroom. Really good breakfast Air-conditioning was not working when I arrived but this was quickly rectified
Helpful staff Room clean, generous amounts of tea & coffee. Too mant scuff marks on wall remote was missing for TV outrageous prices for the mini bar
Bathroon was clean and shower was lovely. Room service was very good. Clean towels and sheets every day even if we left the towels hanging up! Window did not open and no view due to being in the basement, window only looked onto surrounding walls. We like air in the room at night which we could'nt have due to not being able to open a window. Also our only way out to the exit was a lift, we were'nt shown any other way-what about if there was a fire?
Comfortable hotel in a good location.
There were no tables avaiable when we went down for breakfast, when we asked for a refund on breakfast (as we had to be someware)we were refused and told to complain to the maanger who conviently was not there at the time
The shower was good and the tv actually worked compared to some similar hotels I have stayed in. The bed was very uncomfortable. I was concerned about security of my credit card when advised that the machine was not working and I was asked to pay cash!
The taxi service was really good Not clean, a cockroach appeared in the bathroom...and it got too hot at night, and not really good soundproof facilities.
The location and the size of the room which accommodated family of 4. Broken fixtures, the bottom half of the double bed was broken leaving the bed on 2 different levels, only net curtains in the bathroom.
Easy access to Queensway station. Clean and good value for the money no.
The room was big they need to update the rooms.
Excellent value for money, friendly staff, plenty of food out for breakfast. Plenty of hot water and plug sockets. Needs a lick of paint and curtain hanging in places. Fire doors that should have been shut were propped open.No shower mat to steep onto when getting out of the shower.
Situation (close to underground and shops/restaurants, friendly and efficient staff On the 3rd floor with no lift - accomodation was tired and in need of refurbishment
Apart of the location I didn't like the hotel, but at this price is not possible in England and especially, in London to find better room/facilities. Although in Belfast at the same price the hotel was much better. no lift, too old, poor breakfast and generally, everything is looking old and dusty - however still functioning such as the hairdryer. I didn't like at all the plastic glasses and I think there are lot's of other solutions which are not very expensive to be adopted. The curtains were very dirty.
location was perfect, staffa are nice and helpfull Although the beds and towels were clean the room was dusty.Needs to detailed cleaning.
I liked the location - near to Hyde Park and Oxford Street - very near tube station so very accessible. Breakfast was good. The price was good but the room was not very clean and beds old and tatty - just felt a little run down.
The location of the hotel was quite good, close to tube station and in Zone1 The room stinks, stairs were shaking
None No toilets or bathrooms in any of the rooms in floor 3, 4, and only one in floor 2. This was shared by all in the floors. This hotel was very dirty, and the staffs were very rude. I could not sleep at all.
Nothing Its a pathetic place! Broken locks on door, noises from the street coming thru the windows the whole night. For the money that they are charging, the hotel is a really rundown place. The rooms are nowhere like those in the pictures at the website.
Close to tube station Very small, outdated and very tired looking cupboard
Location No stairs Very very very small space Very dirty and dusty
Value for money, friendly staff, good location. Basic room, no homely touches E.g lamp in the room.
It's cheaper comparing to the other hotels in the area It doesn't have a bathrrom in the room
Good location Poor breakfast
Clean, good value Very basic
Location good, safe, close to everything. Staff very nice, especially blond tall lady. Fine for sleeping purpose, value for money ok.
Very helpful and friendly staff; the hotel is very clean. None.
clean, good location near queensway metro station, is very good for shopping, very nice staff. single room not en-suited.....anyway, if you want to save money, and just for shopping, that's fine~
willingness to help the guests but with scarce resources available (heating disrupted, bathroom out of service, etc). this is not a price for value place for staying even if it closes to the center as the price for a room at the 3stars hotel at the opposite side of the street was even cheaper and more renewed. We already encountered problems at the check-in as the bathroom of the room booked was out of order (the only one room with bath in the house!). After barganing on the price we stayed but sharing common services and noises. Be aware that no room facilities or cleaning are provided unless you stay more than 4 days. The maintenance of the guest house is rather old and quite limited and recall a rather soviet atmosphere pre-indipendence for services and prices are not commensurate to the offer.
friendly staff. quiet, good location close to Tube station, traditional Latvian breakfast with meat, crunchy bread, cheese, eggs and organic yoghurts. The room was very cold as the window was draughty. The receptionist switched on the radiator when I first arrived as she recognised it was cold, but the radiator only worked for about 10 minutes and it did not come back on even in the morning. There were no spare blankets to put on the bed so the night was cold
Very friendly Latvian people. Austrian flag in front of the house.
small rooms but comfortable The route map from tube stations should be there
quiet ,well located and helpful friendly staff uninspired breakfast
the cost of the room
The location was nice, and it was a short distance to the Under ground The room had severe waterdamage, it was humid, and sheets felt humid when going to bed. One of the bed was broken.
Amazing personnel. Helpful and very polite. Good breakfast. Clean room and even had electrical adapters in the room. (Although I had my own) Bathroom in room was really really small. I'm 160 pounds 1.69 meters man and had trouble with the space of the shower. That's the only negative thing I can say.
The bathroom (you shower on the floor and next your toilets, charming), the horrendous and stained carpet, the bathroom and bedroom doors not closing, and the fact that the thin walls makes you ear everything the neighbours say, are the very core reasons why you definitly shouldn't book on this place.
I like it. Good location and fill for old time in London
Just the price of the hotel. The bathroom was very small and the door didnt have lock. The lift service was very small.
totally a crap. lift was not working and we stayed at third floor and it was a night mare to think about to go outside cause of bear stairs, the bed was worsen then i ever stayed with booking.com hotels, the cleanliness was worse as well cause the heating was fulled up with mud, all toghther that hotel was a bunch of disaster. everything in that hotel was no acceptable and worsen then i ever stayed with any hotel.
Caring, helpful staff. Great location. The breakfast was not really continental. There were no options for any kind of diet restrictions and only instant coffee. No hand towels and no space to hang towels.
Nothing i am very dissatisfied about the service offered. The lift sometimes did not work. The morning receptionist was very unfriendly and not helpful. The toilet seat was broken and the tap water sink was broken also. The room was very small!!!. No remote control for the TV and the water sometimes was cold when i had a shower
good value and near a tube station
Location the lift is really old
location roomview (garbage belt), bed (really hard with springs), very small room
I liked that it was not far from Baysmater and the parks. And close to pubs and shopping. And not expensive The breakfast
great reception emplyees, courtesy and patience awful breakfast services, no hot milk, often no glasses neither cups, really bad coffee, no courtesy and some of the waitress didn't speak english
The staff were polite and friendly and the room was clean and warm. It has easy access to the tube / shops and a few nice bars. Nothing amazing but good for an over night stay. Couldn't really complain about anything.
Veronica, the receptionist on the morning I arrived, was very welcoming and helpful. Veronica was accurate in her information about an internet cafe location ( tho' I also found one at the top of Whitley's)as well as a couple of other pieces of tourist information I needed. I chose the Palace Court Hotel because of its price and proximity to Paddington Station as I arrived from Heathrow very early in the morning. As it turned out the hotel is located near the 23 Bus route which was very handy. The tube strike was on so I didn't use the close stations. I felt comfortable walking in the area at any time. I found the stairs tiring (I was on third floor)but ... maybe I should be fitter. Found the shower taps a bit tricky, need instructions.
Nothing Virtually no hot water, No workspace in room as advertised on internet.
nothing breakfast, the room was to warm,no mirrow in the bathroom
only the location no evevator, not tasty breakfasta at all, terrible furniture and equiptment
Staff were friendly and always available if you had any queries. No Lifts and the shower was broken. Rooms were basic.
The location of this hotel out weighs any negative comments that follow. On arrival we were met by a friendly staff who allowed us to leave our bags. Our triple room was on the top floor which did involve quite a climb (not recommended for unfit guest) The room was clean and spacious and replenished every day. Breakfast was provided, consisiting of cereal, boiled eggs, cheese and toast. Walking distance from the Central Line, District Line, Hyde Park and Notting Hill. Value for money. The water pressure in the shower was low however the water was hot.
