The location is phenomenal, the room comfortable, and the staff are attentive & courteous. There was abundant hot water for the bath. If you're looking for a "luxury hotel" experience, at a reasonable price, I'd reccommend the Chesterfield. They were extremely helpful about returning an item which had been left in the room: without prompting, they called me to say they'd found it, and offered to post it to me. They charge £16.50 for a continental breakfast: I'm sure it's very nice, but at that price I wasn't about to find out... No-one showed us how to work the heating in our room, and consequently the temperature fluctuated wildly. The toliletries in the bathroom were nondescript.
The peace and quiet even though in the heart of London No fridge in room
Great location. 5 minutes to the tube. Easy walking to major attractions. Charming boutique hotel. Staff was always friendly and helpful. The family enjoyed having a drink at the end of the evening in the bar and learning more about London from Jade the wonderful bartender. Mattress could have been a bit firmer.
location - Mayfair, Regent St. and Oxford St. around the corner. Staff is very friendly, rooms are quiet, wifi works really well, overall a fab experience. Hotel staff was very friendly, but could be a bit more attentive (had to ask 3 times for my bag to be brought up, and took them close to half an hour), and the room maids called me 4 times asking if I needed anything when I had thanked them during the first call already ;-)
- Excellent restaurant. - The staff taking their time to talk to you ... - Noisy pipe net work from rooms next to.
The cleanliness of the room and the proximity to everything The room while very clean and tidy and beautifully appointed was also very small. We travelled with a baby that required a cot and we needed to move the table and chair from the room to give us room. The bathroom was also very small and could only accommodate one person at a time.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful
the surroundings were very welcoming, the staff where excellent and never hesitated to go out of their way to assist you with anything. breakfast and dinner in their restaurant was lovely.
Amazing service and great breakfasts! Also very near the Green Park tube station.
The staff hospitality
The staff were all very professional and helpful. The room was very good and quite traditional.
Lovely, attentive staff!
Location good Reception nice Room small, very narrow. tv controller hard to get to work Feel of dirty carpet Waiting long on lift
Please write at least 15 words
A high quality environment with good decor, friendly and professional staff and the location is very convenient for the West End! I prefer a double bed to two single beds and the TV is a bit small with expensive movies!
Location location location Tiny room
Expensive for what it was but that's London I supppose
Smart, comfortable and cozy
Service from front desk staff and concierge staff is excellent! The rooms, while small (and small bed) are comfortable, clean and modern. Good location about a 3 minute walk to the Green Park tube station. Some mildew in shower, nothing major. Double bed a little small for two people. Also not cheap but it's Mayfair.
i couldn't eat something decent at 11:00pm
The staff where really professional The room was rather small, you could not open the wardrobe door and walk round the bed.
Good hotel in a strategic central part of the city. The 25 pounds breakfast.
It was a great place for a romantic weekend; wonderful surroundings with antiques and old books and a comfy library where we sat for a drink from the honesty bar. A rather grand home from home! There was some noise during the night from a nearby nightclub, so next time I book I'd ask to be on the other side of the hotel, but I think some noise is to be expected in London and it didn't spoil our stay.
Convenience for the theatre Nothing comes to mind
A piece of history in the centre of the capital - but at the same time very calm and peaceful! Beautifully furnished rooms - wood panelled rooms, 18th century beds with 21st century mattresses, very high standard of soft furnishings, every room unique, well stocked honesty bar, friendly and helpful staff.
The room was amazing and the staff was so friendly!
uniqueness of the rooms, very individual and we had a great bathroom (with wardrobe in it) breakfast could only be taken in the room , coffee making facilities would have helped, and as there was a bath in the room , some bubble bath would have been an added touch
Wonderful atmosphere and great location.
The place in the middle of the cultural heart of London
Friendly and helpful staff and old world furnishings. The location in West End/Soho made it perfect for walking to most locations in NW London.
not beign able to bring friends over for a visit in the comfort of my own room. Had to keep them in a small sitting room-no privacy
Being able to smoke in room. Very relaxed and quite hard to believe that you are in Soho Did not feel that the room matched description. No tea & coffe making facilities. The stairs are a challenge when you are at the top of the house.
laid back staff and antique furnishing room rather small
it was very central for my purpose only one of the two lifts were in operation. they seemed to want to make a charge for parking a car on their forecourt and I was unsure if this was a legitimate rule
very nice hotel in centrel london, with good staff no
Location. Priced too high. Interior does not merit price.
The top floor bar/restaurant is a noteworthy feature
The staff were very attentive , especially restaurant staff slow service at reception, they seemed understaffed in this area
Great location. Wifi very slow, unusable at times.
Close to shops
The location is excellent, for me one of the best in London The bed in room was too small, that was bed for one person.. Very very small bed.. That was not fair..
Clean, very nice personell, close to the center of London, perfoect location for shopping weekend
The hotel's location is excellent. I booked a superior room and it was refurbished and very specious. The best hotel ,I have ever stayed in in London, considering the price/value parameter.
Great location for access, very clean and in a very safe area with access to convient stores ,subway and shopping. We had booked a smoking room & even confirmed with hotel by phone but were very disappointed to find out none were available yet if we paid a premiumn we could obtain one. We found this very tacky along with the internet charges.
they didnt give me deluxe room i booked and there is no benifets for this kind of rooms
The Location and the restuarant area Nothing, everything was good
Very well placed Room too close to the lift and described as deluxe but given standard
Excellent location I booked 3 rooms at the price shown on the website but the hotel in all cases added vat and I had to apply for a refund.
Hotel staff on checkout were argumentative and unhelpful and slow to resolve problem. One lift was permanently out of order and there were no stairs.
I liked the location, I could walk anywhere I needed to go. The restruant was usefu l didn't like the idea that I would be charged for moving anything in the mini bar.
Dated room, broken bed, broken kettle, broken bath
The main plus hotel-location. Quiet place, close to Hyde Park and at the same time near the bustling shopping streets and restaurants. Excellent service, a small gym, good food. The windows of my room opens onto the roof of neighboring homes, where the noisy air conditioners, saving earplugs. There was a dressing gown, but no slippers.
Staff very helpful and pleasant. Location excellent. The "business centre" was not really one and a big disappointment - only a few computers with no privacy and no printer hookup. My husband was working on his laptop in our room and I was online finding flights etc down in the lobby. I had to sit at the concierge desk in order to have a printout done. Not at all convenient for all concerned with customers arriving in the reception area.
quiet, tidy, clean, quite spacious and convenient to take underground and near many places of interest
nice modern bathroom . good location . resturants are nearby. very nice area indoor winding corridors are dark, wooden noisy floors, many doors have to be crossed before reaching my room. very small room, barely can move inside.no place to put the suitcase. very poor TV reception and very limited choices of channels
Excellent location. Very nice room decoration. Very good service. Very reasonable food price. I believe that this a very good 4 star London hotel if you consider London hotels' comfort quality and cost as benchmarks. Poor duvet cover. Small wardrobe. Although menu prices are very reasonable, breakfast is quite expensive.
Room was quiet, staff helpful. Internet connexion was bad
It was a central location and the overall standard of the hotel was nice The receptionist ignored us for about 5 minutes, whilst she dealt with other things. Just an acknowledgement that we were waiting would have been nice. The room was very stuffy, with little natural light
Clean Tv picture bad
Fabulous hotel. great staff and good location. Non
The check-in process was a complete shambles. The staff were not helpful at all.
location Bar prices
Staff was very helpful and accommodating.
Location, locatiom. location - you can walk to many points of interest - Piccadilly Circus, Regent St, Buckingham Palace, Bond St, Oxford St etc. Green Park Tube/ bus is a few minutes walk away - with good connections - multiple tube lines - direct to Heathrow Airport and one stop from Victoria. Walk to the theater, local pubs, galleries or museums . The room - very comfortable, great staff In our first room we had difficulty with the electricity but we were moved to a better roomand enjoyed the rest of our 14 day stay.
the fantastic staff
Great location, nice staff, great breakfast, good value for money no wifi in the rooms (hello!), very, very small rooms
The location, the breakfast, the service and the staff.
The location is excellent, convenient to tourist attractions and shops.
I was only there one night but found all the staff I came into contact with friendly and helpful. No averse comments
Excellent central position, next to the underground station and "hop on hop off" station; extremely kind stuff; good brekafst
Superb location, professional attitude, good rate. Room was warm [no A/C], and some how noisy from the surroundings and its location [adjacent to staff room].
staff very helpful. convenient for shopping. comfortable beds. our twin room was quiet even with the window open.
The hotel was in general very good. Our room, which was 209 had a large and very noisy extractor fan outside our window, the noise in the early evening drowned out the tv. The most annoying part was to be woken at 7am by the noise again, to be woken at that time on a Sunday morning was not acceptable, had we been staying another night we would have asked for another room or a full refund. We stay in London several times a year and would consider staying with you again if you were willing to discount our next stay and guarantee we would not have such a room again.
Brilliant location; lovely exterior. "Superior double" room far too small; cold room; even colder bathroom; no plug in sink; no hook on bathroom door.
None The room was a cupboard the only big enough for one person, television didn't work, bathroom needed maintaining very poor condition.
Clean, tidy and great location for town. It was not made clear when booking that the room was not paid for even though my full credit card details were taken. The reception staff at the hotel actually wanted to give a room with no electricity in it ???!!!!???? I had to insist on having a room in full working order just from a Health & Safety aspect. Middle of winter, snow on the ground and a room with no electricity - I don't think so ...!!
The staff Personly I would have liked a larger room but every thing else was great
The location is convenient to Oxford/Regent Streets, shopping, Soho and surrounded by a good selection of restaurants. The hotel rooms were not air conditioned and the ventilation to the rooms very poor (a single open window). To room was like an oven! Don't book during hot weather!
we only used the hotel as a base but everything was clean tidy staff was excellent was able to store ours bags there before and after we had checked in and out which was a great help
Staff excellent Room smelt awful but the staff offered another room but I did not want to move so they made arrangements for the smell to be eliminated and when we returned to the room 6 hours later it was perfect
Excellent location close to centre of city and Bond St tube station. Well within walking distance back from a night out in the bright lights of London! Shower was a bit awkward to figure out but spot on when ascertained.
Very helpfull staff, great location, nice and clean rooms
The room was larger than I expected and in a great location. The hotel's configuration is a bit unusual in that it covers several buildings on the street. However, I enjoyed this as it felt a bit more like a home. The associated restaurant to the Mermaid Hotel is excellent and very popular at lunch time with the local residents and workers. My room was located on the top floor of one of the buildings. This meant 4/5 stories of steps. I did not mind as I only had a small gym bag and briefcase. Some people may have trouble with the stairs and getting their luggage to the top floors. I am sure that the hotel would be able to accommodate guests in lower rooms with notice. If you pay by credit card, expect a 4% additional charge to your bill.
great location, simple , clean, dont miss italian resto downstaires, shower door and bathroom door didnt close proper. Matrasses are not comfortable.
the bed was nice and comfy location was excellent room was small, lights above the bed didnt work, kettles could do with descaling or replacing, one cup in my room had lipstick marks on and had water in. was all very basic.. so long as you are only after a bed to sleep in and somewhere to wash then its fine.
Water linking down the ceiling - had to address it twice before it has been fixed.-As a result, for 1 entire day there was not worm water
excellent location bed too soft, room too hot.
Checked us in early and moved us to a first floor room as we had a 5 mth old ad 4 year old. Clean room and cot provided. 4 year old shared with us in a huge bed (2 big singles pushed together). Worked well for us. Modern and clean bathroom. Very central. Breakfast was simple but adequate and included in price. Access is a problem. There are 3 levels of rooms on each side of a small road and no lift just a narrow staircase on each side. We were on the first floor so it was okay to negotiate with pram but if you were on the third floor it would have been harder. There is no fridge so difficult to store things for the baby if you were staying more than one night - not a problem for us.
