The Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel is an urban oasis in the midst of bustling Los Angeles. The sleek design and decor offers what the hotel likes call a retro-contemporary feel. The heated outdoor pool is surrounded by a hedge fence and is the perfect place to cool off and enjoy the southern California weather. "On Sunset", the hotel's restaurant, offers fine dining prepared by renowned chef Olivier Rousselle, while the "Luxe Lounge" features lighter fare and seasonal cocktails. The hotel's Sanctuary Spa offers personalized services featuring products from the G.M. Collin skincare line and the hotel's rooms and suites feature free WiFi access and iPod docking stations as well as Luxe signature cotton bathrobes.
A prime location from which to explore Los Angeles, the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel is situated close to the Fowler Museum devoted to global arts and culture and the Getty Center. Within six miles of the hotel are famous locations such as Venice Beach and Rodeo Drive. Those feeling a little stifled by the city can take a break at the Will Rogers State park with its scenic views of the ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains. A little further afield is the Page Museum, home of the famous La Brea Tar Pits.
We liked the decor and style of the hotel.
Our frig. was not working in the room and we had a jacuzzi suite. We called for them to replace but they never showed. We weren't waiting around either.
Its in a great location provided you have a car and the majority of the staff were very helpful and polite (though the person who checked us in was rather offhand and did not get the stay off to a great start).
The room (118) was fairly dark with no view and noisy because of its location near the reception and clumping from guests staying upstairs, The bathroom facilities were cramped and very tired.
Excellent location, big room, excellent swingming pool, excellent restaurant, kindly staff, high quality. My advice: you are going to spend a lot of many in tips because of the excellent service.
The restaurant is excellent.
The distance to the pool.
The staff made you feel like they would willingly help..and I did have a few problems to sort-they went out of their way to help. The location was excellent for visiting The Getty.
