classic 50's/60's style noisy, hear people talking in the hallway
Walking distance to 3rd St with a lot of restaurants and shops. Also a 10 min walk to the Grove. It can get very noisy, particularly on weekends when partiers are arriving at 3am and are loud and obnoxious. The management doesn't seem to do anything about the noise.
The only thing I liked was the location. It is near everything. The room was really dirty and with no manteinance at all. We were awake by the hotel staff at 8 am to see if the could clean the room! 8 am!!! incredible. During our trip to USA we stayed in 3 hotels and this one was the most expensive, ugly and dirty.
Beverly Laurel is my go to place whenever I'm in LA. The rooms are clean and spacious. The customer service is exceptional, and the staff is more than accomodating! There's a restaurant named Singers 5 feet from the hotel. The food is delish, and I've spotted a celebrity or two whIle eating there. Definitely the hotel to book if you're looking for style and great location.
The rooms had potential They are doing full on construction & demo while still renting rooms. Loud demo started at 7am & continued throughout the day. All day! Super noisey I'm surprised they are allowed to book rooms! Awful the manager gave us a discount
Enjoyed my stay in a well designed and highly stylized room. It was comfortable and had every amenity I needed.
Really liked the idea of the hotel, but really under construction. The room was clean, but very minimalist. Staff were helpful. The location was great, though. Very noisy. Construction workers moving around right outside our door. And temporary access entrance door was open all the time, so it felt a little unsafe.
This is a well-located hotel, with good value for money. Our family of four stayed in a single room which had two beds, a huge shower and was quite clean. Bathroom has a separate W/C so more than one person could be in there. TV set up offers bluetooth/VGA/HDMI connectivity, so bring a cable. There are no decent toiletries provided, just soap and a combo shampoo/conditioner. We expected this, so it was fine. Room was very bright, so had to use shades and close bathroom door. We also had foam pillows, which are a little hard.
Hotel staff are great people. The Swingers Cleanliness of bathroom could be improved.
Very clean, quiet, and friendly staff. Love the Swingers diner attached where you can get breakfast/lunch/dinner anytime. This hotel was convenient to everything we wanted to see in Hollywood/Beverly Hills. We walked to the Star Line hop on-hop off bus tour and were able to go everywhere we wanted. I highly recommend this hotel!
Location Location Location!!!! Right where you need to be! I stay here every time I'm in LA .. The room I had this time wasnt as new/renovated like the other rooms I've stayed in previously. I was a little disappointed but still enjoyed my stay non the less and will definitely return.
Bathroom has no mirror; bed is dirty, I have to wear my cloth while sleeping; floor worn out, smell bad.
I liked the vibe, Peets next door, nice room. I like the decor - loved the Bull Farm diorama! View out my window, but it was OK.
I loved the ambience, tight down to the sausage and egg art on the wall in my room! The open air feel of the hotel was perfect for the sunny weather in CA. They have a nightly whiskey tasting and complimentary snacks at the front desk. There are plenty of areas to hang out outside your room and a foosball table in the courtyard. Although I didn't use the pool, I could see it from the 2nd floor deck and it was full of ducks (rubber ones, not real ones.) the location is right across from The Grove at Farmer's market so plenty of shopping and dining experiences are within walking distance. Also, the employees were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. My bed squeaked every time I moved. It's a good thing I was so tired because I slept through most of it, but light sleepers would probably be bothered by it. The wifi is very slow. I wish there was self parking; I hate valeting my car.
Cute themed hotel and the theme was carried nicely throughout. Good location, steps from the farmers market and grove shopping. The air conditioner in our room was crazy loud. It woke us up every time it turned on which seemed to be every 15 minutes, all night long.
Great location for the places I wanted to see (comedy clubs, upscale dining, great mall). Only problem is the sign for the hotel. If you are arriving after dark you will not see them. I passed it twice and ended up parking somewhere else and walking the street to find it (and every place you park in LA costs money).
location, location nothing
Location Location Location. Directly across the street from The Grove and within walking distance from shopping and more food. And a short/not horrible drive from the beach, downtown, hollywood blvd, runyon and LACMA. And the staff is so freaking nice! And the Panna Cotta at Tart was delish. The excellent location makes up for the motel-ish feel. Its just dated. Motel-like feel. Just overall dated. Ive stayed here twice so its not THAT bad. The amazing staff and location make up for it all. Ill would stay again for sure.
Location was convenient and the price was good, the room was clean and looked good and the WiFi was fast and easy to log in to. Parking was sparse but that's just Hollywood. Traffic was noisy at times but didn't disrupt sleep.
It was ok. Convenient to many amendities.
Good location. Dirty bathrooms, super-hot rooms (took hours to make it breathable) and bad parking (the manager had to move the trash cans to make space for us to park one night).
Localization The carpet should be cleaner
Floors dirty, walls had torn wallpaper, hair dryer didn't work-in general a fairly dreary place although the staff was pleasant. Not worth the low price. Only thing I really liked was the location.
I liked the price. That was about it!! The lady at the front desk was extremely rude! There was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom, thank god I brought my own shampoo and soap! The chairs in the room looked like they were 10 years old. There were numerous stains on them. The bedsheets, maybe 3 years old, and possibly dirtier than the chairs. This place could be great if it was owned by people who took pride in their location, but that is surely not the case here.
mold in shower and on the rubber bath mat the AC worked but the was a high pitched squeal while the ac was on And not just our room it could be heard all over the complex carpt was old and in need of being replaced several burn marks from a cloths iron on the carpt
location. free parking. Rooms were hot. Temperature outside was >100 degrees and the air conditioners had not been turned on for rooms with reservations. There was mold/mildew around the bathtub. We were there for 3 days & only given 2 towels. When asked for a couple more we were told there were no more.
Pretty run down and dirty.
lack of information and freindlyness
convenient needs to be updated rust everywhere in bathrooms
the whole family could stay in one room chipping paint, rip in the window screen in the bathroom, dirty ceilings
It was great until I got towed and the bill was $450 to get my car out from the city of LA due to the lack of parking from this hotel and the hotel telling us to use the meter, next day was an AIDS walk and everyone got towed. Because of this I would not recommend this hotel
The room was decent size The air conditioner barely worked it was upper 90's outside and never cooled off lower than 80 inside. The pool and a lot of dead bugs and scum on the top. The wall was literally patched with a band aid.
John at front desk was very nice and helpful.Showed me to my room and where to park behind the hotel, very friendly and kind. Room was roomy with nice wood furniture, chest of drawers, table 2 chairs. TV, microwave and fridge all worked fine. Amazingly quiet for a room facing Beverly Blvd. Will stay there again because of the rates. Neighborhood is amazing. Cafes and restaurants within 1/2 block. Health food store 1 block away and The Grove 2 blocks. Park literally across the street for walk and joggers. Trader Joe's 3 blocks and since they don't have breakfast, it's nice to be able to have the fridge and microwave. Ice machine and soft drink machine in courtyard with one table and four chairs. No odors especially not of cleaning fluids. Wifi is free. Always have coffee. Bedding pretty old - I took a look at the pillows and they looked way to old and worn. Bathroom shower curtain needs replacing and bathroom in general needs upgrading - stains on counter, floor next to wall not well cleaned - needs a good redo. Towels dingy like they don't always use bleach. I've seen worse and
Staff was very helpful, The room was soo disgusting and I didnt een want to use the restroom n didnt rake a shower...dna stains everywhere n dirty! Ripped couch, all the furniture looked like it was from the dumpster...
price great, location near my meeting, parking closeby, Whole Foods store within 2 blocks, very courteous staff Street Noise late at night,
Convenient location The toilet seat cover had dirt on it, water didn't get hot so I had to shower at the gym and the fire alarm battery was dead and kept beeping every 10 min. Don't stay in the bottom floor bc you can hear everything. For $115 I didn't get much out of it.
The rooms are not that bad and the location decent.. But there are not parking spots for everyone. The ownership told us to park at a meter and then our car got towed overnight due to the lack of parking spots with the hotel. Ended up being a charity event the next morning and the city impounded all vehicles at meters. A tow fee in the city of LA is about $450 and made this hotel very expensive The rooms are not that bad and the location decent.. But there are not parking spots for everyone. the large room, large bed, nice people. The smell in the room was awful and the view out of the rear window was like a wall and pipes and trash cans .... which explains the smell
The motel was a good value, in a convenient and fun location. There was some black mold around the bathroom window. The bedding was old and scratchy as were the towels. There seemed to be a towel shortage. In the middle if the day the towels are washed, so if you want to shower at that time you are out of luck. There were no cups provided in the rooms. The parking spaces were insanely tight. The soda machine was out of order. And the ice machine required quarters to operate.
it was overall a good hotel near the shopping mall the grove . the rooms were very large but not too clean.but for the money you pay is a good hotel cleaness , and you can here through the walls sometimes
very simple accomadations - filled my need.
The experience could have been ok but it sucked. Construction started at 7 am with constant banging. Maid walked into my room at 9am and scared the shit out of me. And just looked at my statement and they charged me twice. And the parking lot sucks.
Even though our room was small it was more than adequate for our stay. It was very clean and comfortable.
The staff was awesome very helpful and friendly
Proximity to CBS Studio
comfy bed, refrigirator, clean slow internet
The location is excellent, the price is right, parking is free and it has all the basics needed.
Location is very good. Around the corner from the farmer market and the groove Rooms were small and hotel is very basic
Basic, but conveniently located, with parking facilities. Good value for money
