The staff was very friendly and accommodating to my needs. It is a very nice hotel, and we had a lovely stay. Met all of our needs The staff at the pool were a bit rude and not attentive. Took about 45 minutes to get our drink and food after we ordered it, and no apologies were given.
Everything is GREAT! Except parking expenses in the area. Try not to drive if possible. Brian

While the staff was outstanding, the peace and quite was priceless, especially with the chaos of LA Live! The mattress was a little firm for my liking, but the bedding was exceptional!
Valet parking staff was rude
Staff at check excellent. Location next to Staples Center. One block from the 'Pantry' historic diner. Ordered lamb meatballs at the bar and they were barely warm. TV in room has mostly grainy low definition channels. Scanning room key in elevator to access floor worked after the third attempt. I won't stay here again. Expected more from this brand.
The room was nice and bed was comfortable. The parking is such a rip off. For $42 I almost wanted to go and sleep in my car.
Clean, modern, friendly staff (at least the ones I had contact with). Convenient location for LA Live events obviously, which was our reason for staying here. A bit overpriced if you ask me. The parking is absolutely ridiculous!!! $42 a night! I've paid less for rooms! For the price you pay to stay here parking should be free or at best a minimum fee for guests since there are no alternative parking areas. Room service, way overpriced as usual but the added fees and taxes are ridiculous and the food is just ok.
The location was convenient to the end purpose of our stay. The staff were poorly trained. We didn't deal with one person who seemed to even act like they cared we were. We travel a lot, and the way the staff behaved put them in the bottom 25% for customer service skills.

Misinformed about parking. Was told it was free upon check-in and ended up getting a bill for $44 upon check-out. Manager said there was nothing they could do.
Great location, great amenities, friendly staff. Its a bit pricey, but if you have the money, i highly suggest booking the hotel
My husband and I stayed at Lux after the concert at Staple Center. The hotel is right across the street from Staple Center. There are lots of restaurants close by too. The front desk could not find our reservation but I was lucky to have print out with me. Then, we had to wait until after 3.45 pm. to check-in. I wonder if the hotel don't have enough housekeepers .
From the first day we came, the staff was very friendly and helpful with all our needs. Our dogs were given a warm welcome and the front desk accommodated us with recommendations on where to shop and walk our animals. We will always come back here in the luxury hotel for its staff and location. We liked our views, location,staff and walk friendly property.
One day parking for $44 is just insanely expensive as you can get all day parking for $10 with 5 mins walk.
Room was spacious and clean with a great view overlooking Nokia Live. It was ready when promised and the staff was very accommodating.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. I felt well taken care of. Hotel is conveniently located to Nokia Theatre/LA Live and a ton of great restaurants! Rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely detailed. AC is a little noisy.
Breakfast lounge was excellent. We were able to check in very early by taking handicapped room. Wifi was good. Room layout was nice and residential aspect was nice. Didn't have to prepay. Microwave didn't work and they didn't have a replacement. Coffee wasn't replenished.

The location being downtown LA that's all. I don't like that online the hotel room looks 100% different than how the rooms really look. I don't like that the bed was broken right when we walked in. I don't like that they have a sink next to the television set and outlet system (very dangerous). I don't like that the bathroom toilet had urine in it already and the shower grout had hair and a sort of residue on the floor. I don't like that the room smelt musky and dusty. I don't like that the I spent so much for false advertising. All in all I don't like this place. And there is literally no other positive except for the location, that's it.
This hotel is very close to Staples Center, LA Convention Center, and LA Live. There is a Starbucks and Ralphs nearby as well as several affordable restaurants, including two 24 hour spots. The cost of this hotel, compared to other hotels in the location, is quite cheap. The staff is friendly enough. You get what you pay for. This hotel is in quite an old building so some things can't be helped or would require a major investment. If you know what you're in for this hotel could be good enough for a short trip. If you're expecting a 3+ star hotel, look elsewhere. The rooms are very small. The sink is in the room instead of in the bathroom. The showers are very small. The windows don't shut 100%, street sounds can be heard. Especially at 1:00 AM when people are beginning to leave bars or concerts at the Staples Center. The closets are tiny, the hangers in them have to be at an angle to shut the door. The door to the room I had during this trip would stick; so, I had to be extra forceful to get it open or closed. During my two visits at this hotel I requested and was approved for late checkout. Neither time was housekeeping informed. The first time the housekeeper was knocking on the door at 11am trying to get in to clean the room. My Spanish and her English were both poor so while the point got across eventually, it was awkward because I was just out of the shower. This time I returned to my room to find the door propped open with a wet towel and nobody around. None of my things were disturbed so I shut the door to get ready to shower. The housekeeper promptly knocked and asked if I was checking out. I let her know I had late check out and she returned to another room. The room I stayed in during this trip had a faint foul odor. They could use some of those air fresheners that go off on a timer. Finally, roaches. During my trip last year I killed one large roach. I knew this wasn't a great hotel so I wasn't exactly shocked by the creature. This time I killed one small one in the evening and 10 more in the morning (ranging from very small to large). The number of them was disturbing because I would catch the movement in the corner of my eye and then kill them. If I was less observant I may not have noticed all of them; but truthfully I may have missed many more even with the number I killed.
The location is good. It's near the metro and convention center. My room was quiet. The free breakfast is basic but a nice add-on. The hotel is old and while the lobby looks decent, my room felt really dirty. It also smelled bad. I was afraid to step on the carpet with my bare feet or even my socks. I also didn't feel comfortable drinking the tap water there so I had to buy bottled water. There are also lots of homeless people hanging around the hotel. The front desk attendant doubles as the "security" attendant as well. There were times that I wondered how easily homeless and other uninvited guests could get into the building. On the last night I did see a roach in my bathroom. The ice machines were all broken except for one.
Liked the location. Was 1 block away from where I needed to be the next morning. My room was super small.
Room is narrow small uncomfortable, we cann't put up with the narrow bed, gray leafletsand the only one old elevator.
I found the afternoon staff very friendly, made me laugh even. But I found out early the next morning by young nephew that he couldn't sleep at all because bugs/fly's kept attacking him all night. Then he showed me one, which was cockroaches. He said there were hundreds of them all night..... When I notified the morning staff, they looked at me like they already knew, stalled on replying. I let them know I would not be asking for my money back, but I would never stay there again. ROACH MOTEL.

I stayed at the Milner Hotel while on a business trip to LA. The hotel is located within walking distance from my office. My overall experience was good but I wouldn't stay there for a vacation. I stayed in two different rooms during my stay and the best of the two was the King Suite, it had plenty of room and looked newer and cleaner. The other room with a queen bed was too small and looked older and not as clean. Only one of the two elevators was working and so it was a long wait for the elevator. At one point both elevators were broken and I stayed on the eleventh floor, so that's a long way up and down.
The location and staff were excellent The room in bad shape. Very old and dated. Smelled. Not clean. Sheets were old.
I was with friends. Their room had a closet blocked by a side table and a side area with wires hanging from the ceiling. The two person room I had was smaller that the one person room my friends had and the bathroom was barely big enough for one person to stand and turn around or do anything. The room was not cleaned all the way and they did not give us fresh towels. Breakfast was meager: waffle maker, juice/milk, hot/cold cereal, fruit and pastries. I would never stay there again. Nothing in the pictures was what in my room and nothing in my room reflected the amount I paid. No one in my party was happy with their room. The location was fine as we could walk everywhere we needed, but I had to park in a lot down the street. All in all this was an expensive hotel for no reason.
It got the job done, the breakfasts were pretty good. The elevators were a little scary, and the building and facilities are pretty old and it's showing its age. The room was small but big enough for the basics. It was a little uncomfortable at first, but it got more comfortable as time went on. Parking is not included and costs $18/day next to the hotel. The shower was almost comically small. My shoulders are wider than it. No refrigerator in the room.

the hotel was nicely redone and is in a good central location for downtown and events at staples centre. you can hear conversations from other rooms above and below you. there was loud music in the room below us that we notified the front desk about at 12:30 am-noise didn't stop. after asecond call to front desk they said they can't control all guests so we requested to change rooms if they weren't going to stop the noise so at 1:30 am we moved to another room. seems to me the noisy guests should be the ones moving or leaving the hotel if they can't be quiet after 11:00 pm!!!
The location was great and close to everything in Downtown. Its a quick Uber ride to Hollywood. It has a boutique feel so don't stay there if you are looking for a hotel chain feel. The hotel itself is very trendy. It has a bar and restaurant downstairs. We also like the fact that you have to use your card to take the elevator to your room which makes it feel more safe and exclusive. The room was small but I suppose big enough for us 2. We used it mostly to sleep. The room is a little old and worn out but it worked out ok considering we paid less than the other hotels going rate. There was a smell we couldn't make out. It went away after we were there for a day.

The room has multiple sources of soft indirect lighting, including a switch for mood lighting circling the bottom of the bed. So it's very romantic, although maybe a little dim near the entry area. I really liked it. We slept great on the beds and the shower is really strong. It was a very refreshing stay. There was a continental breakfast included but we skipped it to stay in bed. Parking is literally next door, and 18 bucks per 24 hours is better than in a lot of places in downtown LA. My fifth floor room's view was the featureless brick wall of the next building, almost close enough to reach out the window and touch it. Not kidding. Like some kind of urban planning mishap. You get a little sunlight in the morning, like being at the bottom of a well. I was amused, but it might shock others. The AC unit had a temperature control feature, but it seemed to run too long before shutting off. The hallways leading to the rooms are not air conditioned at all, so when it's 100F in LA (like it was when we were there), it's 100F in the hallway. Housekeeping needs to obey the DND hangtag, seriously. -_-;

The location was perfect for what I needed access to. Staff were condescending and dismissive (particularly Javie) with very poor customer service skills. In the middle of my completely calm discussion with Javie about why he tried charging me twice for my stay (with an outrageous incidental hold charge), I was on the receiving end of the rudest "hold on" finger gesture when he decided that was the appropriate moment to take a phone call. Dark, stuffy hallways, dark rooms (the few lights that were in the room were dim and poorly located), broken down mattress, SPIDERS (killed three during my 7-day stay), and breakfast was weak (OJ, bran cereal, coffee/tea, instant oatmeal). Neighboring rooms were noisy beyond belief. I was awakened in the middle of the night several times throughout my stay to a screaming child, elephants upstairs and neighboring rooms blasting loud music on the featured Samsung Smart TVs. While on the way to the hotel prior to my stay, I was excited to see I could text the hotel to check in and ask questions. Microwaves available? No. This made leftovers from restaurants wasted. Could you provide me service and price information for your spa? No, here's the phone number so you can call them yourself. Truly disappointing and put a big damper on my first trip to LA. BUT, if you need a hotel that is centrally located, and the Milner and Biltmore are too pricey for you, then O Hotel is in a good spot.
