Very expensive for what we had. Hostess was very disorganized, when I checked in it took her ten minutes to seat me without telling me my guest was already seated. When I made my reservation I requested to be seated in the garden. Upon check in I was told the garden was not open, she seated us in the pathway between the dinning room and garden. As we sat there we noticed people were being seated in the patio. Overall was disappointed with our experience, shame because it would be so convenient as my office is located in the building.

Baltaire is another steakhouse. Meat quality was consistent with other steakhouses in the area. Nothing special to warrant the high price. The ahi tuna appetizer was delicious - probably the best I've ever had. I would come back just for the ahi tuna. The service was poor. Maybe because I came with my son and we were not glamorous - the server paid very little attention to us. I noticed he talked more with groups of single ladies.

Mediocre service for a fine dining restaurant.\n\nWe arrived and were seated immediately, our waitress was lukewarm and forgot a number of things we ordered and asked for. I was given a dull knife for my steak and it took about 5 minutes for me to flag someone down, tell them, and get a new knife.\n\nThe food was good.

The food was good. I had the albacore and avocado. Tasted the lobster mac & cheese, which a too rich and the lobster salad, which was also good. Not sure what happened, twenty minutes after leaving I got violently ill. I plan to try it again.

This is my second time dining at Baltaire and on both occasions was lovely.\nMy husband's first visit this passed time and he enjoyed his first meal. The duck seems like it was not hot when it arrived at our table for entré but I enjoyed the meal overall. \n\nThe noise level was exceptional which came to my surprise. I requested a table by the fire in hopes that it would be quiet and romantic. It was romantic but far from quiet.\n\nMost of the couples moved their seats to be closer to their other half because they couldn't hear theat individual. \n\nGreat food I'd visit again, maybe going in earlier than seven is the solution to the noise level.

We had a reservation at 10:30pm on Valentine's Day and arrived around 10:10 and the host passed us to our table right away. Very beautiful and elegant restaurant. Food and drinks were amazing! Worth the price for sure. Our waitress was awesome. Very kind and brought us her recommended drinks which were good! Very very great experience, definitely coming back.

One of the best steakhouses in LA. We went for Valentine's Day dinner and it was perfect. The ambiance is somehow epic and tasteful at the same time. The server was warm and funny but also classy. The food was outstanding. We'll be going again for special occasions.

A great evening was planned for two birthdays but was ruined by terrible service who complained about staffing problems in the restaurant and his inability to serve us correctly. He started the night by telling us he 'didn't want to be at work on a Saturday night', and then proceeded to tell us his backup bailed on him and the service would suffer because of it. He wasn't lying. After being there for 3 hours, we gave up completely on getting dessert and just left. It was very disappointing.

Great dinner celebrating my husband's birthday with my in laws. Had a table inside alone the patio glass enclosure. Very nice to be in the corner and have some space for our little celebration. Some of the best service in la. The food is divine! Best spinach I've had at any steak house. Ny strip was heavenly. A great evening! Will return soon and check out the patio.

10 minutes to get greeted at the table. 25 minutes to get a whiskey neat and a neat Manhattan. The server was in over her head. Later found out she didn't give us the right specials. We switched tables and got a new server. He made up for the lackluster start. All was great until we asked about the price of a wine he was suggesting. His reply, 'I don't know, man. Maybe $100.' Kinda flippant. Kinda passive aggressive. It's not like we were being cheap. We spent $400 for two of us. I've been here a few times. This was not the best experience. Could have been much worse, but for the price, it should be flawless.

Brentwood was in the need of a good steak house. Unfortunately, Baltaire has too much a corporate feel rather than a local one. One look at the pricing of the wine list is enough to see that this is strictly an expense account restaurant. The crowd was another indication that this spot is business and men oriented.

Our server, food and alcohol were fantastic. I requested a nice table, but they placed us in a pretty horrible spot - hence the 4 stars, because for the money we spent that night, I would think management would've listened to our requests before hand. Hence, I probably won't go back. I've had much better service at somewhat cheaper places, with equally great food - like Arthur J's.

Baltaire was a huge disappointment. My medium steak came medium well and was tough and chewy. A $22 glass of pinot noir had an enormous layer of sediment and our server was nonplussed by it. I would have expected a better meal from IHOP and at a tenth of the price.

Four of us, two couples, met at the bar, which is quite nice and spacious, we then migrated to our table in the main dining room. The oysters were really fresh and the Greek salad which is prepared by the tableside was quite delicious; however, it was not enough for a couple as it was suggested by our waiter. We had two Filet Center Cut 12 oz and the 48oz Tomahawk Ribeye for two (this steak can easily feed three) and each steak was prepared as we had ordered them; they were really flavorful. For the dessert we tried the Powdered Beignets which were quite delicious. The only drawback with Baltaire is lack of Martini selections, my wife asked for Appletini and they could not make it, and then she asked for pear martini and again the bar did not have the mixes, and then peach martini and again the response was sorry they cannot make it so she settled for cosmopolitan. Also, I really do not appreciate having multiple TV screens in a steakhouse; they are great in sports bars.

I was so excited to be going to Baltaire, but WOW, what huge disappointment. The place is beautiful, and it's quite spacious, but those are best accolades I offer for this overly expensive Las Vegas style money pit.\n\nI ordered what should have been the best steak on the menu - the 23-day dry-aged bone-in Kansas City strip ($58) sounded awesome, but failed to deliver on all accounts. First, it arrived completely unseasoned and tasteless... not a good start... Second, it was as tough as any cheap NY strip you'd expect from an economy market. I should have given it right back, and void kick myself for not doing so.\n\nThen, there were their famous lobster mashed potatoes with shaved truffles ($40)... More disappointment... They too were virtually tasteless and unseasoned - pretty bad for their signature side dish, especially for what I believe to be the most expensive mashed potatoes in history. Those should also have been sent back, but I was silly and just suffered through dinner, hating every minute.\n\nMaking it even worse was the noise level, which I'd read about beforehand... but nothing could prepare me for the decibel level... You can't even hear the live music, which is totally drowned out my the din of the voices, and that on a Thursday night with a relatively small crowd.\n\nThis place is very reminiscent of the name brand restaurants in Vegas in almost every way, and like it's Vegas counterpoints that rarely deliver their promise, this place fails miserably and delivers nothing but expensive disappointment. I'll never go back...

Very disappointing. The place was cold and draughty. The steak was very good but the rest of the food was TGI Friday's standard. The staff meant well but looked ridiculous dressed in white dressy jackets. That's fine if you have a Michelin star or your the Polo Lounge but not when you faire and experience is Baltaire's standards. Noisy jazz band in your ear. Seriously expensive circa 650 USD for 5 of us with very little alcohol and 2 deserts. No wonder it was 2 thirds empty on a Friday night at 8.30pm. Never a good sign. I should have listened to my instincts, turned around and fled. I'll give it another 3 months before it shuts its doors.

Wow...never, ever again & you shouldn't either. \n\nI am absolutely stunned people like this place for anything other than the ambience and are gladly willing to pay appalling prices for subpar food & horrible service, down the line to include even the manager. \n\nBusiness dinner for 4 people : $1,076\n\nIncluded:\n\n2 way overpriced bottles of wine (I know what they should cost)\n\nSeafood tower that was overcharged by $35\n\n2 sent back steaks (my tasteless bone-in filet came back when my 3 guests were done & I had to scarf it down...I've never had a tasteless bone-in filet before)\n\nSides that were very average except for the mac & cheese which we actually enjoyed \n\n1 overcharged steak - Cost: $65\n\n2 sent back drinks\n\nAbsolutely ridiculous $15 'tea service' that should have been served by someone other than the sommelier merely whisking up 1/4 cup of macha in a deep bowl\n\nNo apologies made at dinner\n\nCalled the restaurant the next day to discuss with the manager. No call back. \n\nYelp messaged & emailed & I finally got a call back from the manager. \n\nThe manager sincerely apologized, promised he'd take care of the steaks & the overcharged items & also 'do something extra' to make up for his restaurant's shortcomings because it shouldn't have gone down as it had. I requested a revised receipt via email since this was a business dinner. \n\nA week & a half later...no credits, no email...so I left 2 messages at the restaurant, sent 1 Yelp message & sent 2 emails, all of which received no response. \n\nNow I can say that I'm even more incredibly grateful for American Express and their cardmember services, that's for sure. \n\nOh, and I miss the Cheesecake Factory that this sorry excuse for a restaurant replaced.

We had a ribeye, a pork chop and lamb chops and all were brilliantly tasty and properly prepared. The wedge salad was as good as it gets anywhere as were the sides of sprouts, mushrooms, and spinach. This was my second time to eat at Baltaire. The first experience was exceptional--food, service, ambiance were all excellent. This second visit fell far short of my expectations. Two of my guests ordered steak and said it was the best meal they've ever eaten. I ordered $63 Dover Sole that was delivered in a copper pan and accompanied by a ton of steamed (I think) vegetables. The fish was pretty bland and tasteless. The vegetables were also bland and unremarkable. The other guest ordered the short ribs and didn't finish them because they were too salty. I tasted them and they were way over salted. This was a really expensive dinner and in retrospect I should have sent my fish back because it was not worth $63!!! Wine was excellent. Love the decor. This last time the service was mediocre : our waiter was less interested in us than he was the larger parties surrounding (we were a party of 4) and treated us of as an after thought. This was not our first visit, but it will certainly be our last. An $18 cocktail should more than half fill a martini glass. The Greek salad, handsomely prepared table side, had such an abundance of vinegar that it was only half eaten. A pork chop, highly recommended by the waiter, arrived sliced and cold. It was removed and returned only slightly warmer and my wife gave up and ordered an artichoke for dinner instead. My $58 Kansas City strip steak was cooked properly, but was a wide, thin and dry piece of meat rather than a proper thick and juicy strip that I expect in a first rate steakhouse. The quality at Baltaire has continued to slide over the past year. There are much better choices at the same price points.

We had 7:30pm reservation on Saturday 9/26 for three to celebrate our son's 15th birthday. The restaurant has a warm ambiance, with the lounge inviting if we were just by ourselves. Next time we'll plan to hit that for some pre-dinner libations.\n\nWe valet parked right out front and were warmly greeted by the hostess, who sat us immediately. The hostess said Happy Birthday to my son, and that nice touch started us on a great night. We were sat near the kitchen, and at Beltaire this was great. We were far enough away so noise wasn't an issue, but close enough to see all the action. Really neat if you are interested in the action. If not there are plenty of other seating options. Lighting was low enough to set a nice mood and still see.\n\nOur server, Ashley greeted us warmly with a genuine smile and with a Happy Birthday to my son. I had noted the occasion on the reservation, and clearly the staff were aware and on their toes. \n\nWe ordered some wine (Shafer Cabernet-fantastic), a few bottles of sparkling water (some British brand that was superb) and the scallop appetizer. It was cooked perfectly (i.e., seared but not overdone), and we complimented that with a shared Caesar. Also, bread is offered and you should accept as it was this mouth watering warm French baguette.\n\nFom main courses we each had a different steak NY, bone-in Filet and the Ribeye. All were excellent with one being slightly undercooked. Ashley took care of it immediately and within a few minutes it was back, cooked spot on, and allowed us to all enjoy our dinner together. We also ordered the hand made French fries (one of the only time we eat fried food) and a corn special. Both were good. We also tried various steak sauces (the house was the best), but the steaks were so good you don't need any sauce.\n\nWe ended the meal with a few lattes and a Happy Birthday chocolate cake. During the evening there was live music from the lounge, nice background music that was great.

This is the new high priced in spot in Brentwood. It is very good and very very expensive. As such quibbles are in order. The tableside prepared Greek salad was way over dressed to the point of masking the flavor of the greens. My wife's hamburger, they will make one for dinner though not on the menu was quite good. my petite filet was correctly cooked, but marred by the sea salt drizzled on top. What are they afraid of? The side sauce was sweet. Ick. A note of controversy; we ordered glasses of the Dom Ruinart blanc de blanc from a fresh bottle. Simply the best champagne period and at $24.00 a glass a great value. However, when the waitress came over to pour from the fresh bottle she could not get the cork out. This was because they gave her the bottle with the metal cage still on. Never seen that before. Poor bar management/training.

I had my doubts about the service at the restaurant after reading the reviews. Our reservations were at 6. We were told it was a very noisy place and that the service was not good. We were celebrating our anniversary. We were seated in the outdoor patio under the heater so we were toasty warm. It wasn't very crowded. At 7:00 the music was cranked up and tables begin to fill. When we left at 7:30 it was getting crowded. We had excellent service by Michael. The water and bread guy were very attentive. The food (filet and halibut) was delicious. Good wedge salad and excellent pineapple upside down cake for dessert. Very pricey so save it for a celebration.

First off a great room(s).....wonderful ambience to just sit and have a drink. Steaks are as good as I have had in NY and ChiTown. Chef/consultant has some Chicago roots so has the wet aged meats in addition to dry aged. Everything was first rate. On the negative.....Cesar salad a little skimpy and baked potato seemed a little dry. Otherwise, I highly recommend and will certainly be back. I brought a friend here for lunch to celebrate a birthday. My expectation was that food would be pricy, but value would be in the ambiance and quality provided. The restaurant, which took a few years to remodel from the former Cheesecake Factory, is quite nice. No detail was spared for that. Sadly, the food did not live up. The Lobster Cobb was probably the best, and only, reasonably tasty salad at our table. Both the Greek (made at the table) and steak were underwhelming and boring. My friend ordered a diet coke. It was served from a bottle (message, no refills) I notified staff it was a birthday. When a lunch for three is in the $100 range, generally birthday desert is comped. Don't expect that. I say 'penny wise , pound foolish'. I live in the area so I am hoping the next restaurant that takes this place is more rewarding.

Lots of choice in table vibe with inside bar and patio vying for one's attention.\n\nOur service was a little tentative, but warm in a naive way. The menu is absolutely a meat eater's paradise, but other options are there for the non-carnivore. My girl had the ribeye, and it was charred to her perfection.\n\nShe wants me to take her there again and again. And I will. 5* restaurant, with 5* pricing to match. We were in w/ a party of 4 last Friday at 6:30. Seated promptly but once seated the server flew by to say 'I'm really busy I'll be w/ U shortly' which might have been fine except NO ONE bothered to see if we wanted a drink while waiting for him to get back to us. And so we waited for 20 min w/ no cocktails. Once we ordered & served all was well. Food was delicious except we had to chase after salt and pepper.\nStrange it was not even offered w/ our salads. Decided dessert was not for us & ended up flagging down a manager to get the check. \nWe returned on Tuesday night. Went early to wait for our friends and get a drink in the bar - we ordered, waited, our friends arrived after 10 min but no drinks, we were told they would find us at our table but never appeared. Again, once seated no server arrived for a drink order... \nAnd we waited quite awhile to order. Food was delicious, no pepper offered for 4 salads! Where my husband and I shared a Bone-In rib eye last Friday and the server had it split for us - this time an empty plate was plopped in front of me and the full steak presented to my husband. We divided it ourselves- no one offered to do it for us. Instead of dessert we ordered 3 Irish coffees - when 3 full size coffe cups arrived my husband asked what that was and told 'Irish coffee' - did not even resemble Iridh Coffee. He went to the bar and was told by the bartender that he had no sugar, or whipped cream so he improvised! So coffee with 2 shots of Irish Whiskey was what we got. Better to be OUT!!! Your location is great, the food is delicious, but the service needs to pull it together... Please!!!

Been here a couple times now. Once for brunch and the other for dinner. Both times the food was average (better at dinner than brunch). Had the shakshuka and monkey bread at brunch. Both were just fair. Shared many items for dinner: lamb entree, mac n cheese (best of the night), crab cake, wedge salad, greek salad, artichoke, chicken entree, duck entree, ribeye, brussels sprouts. The desserts were the best part of the night (bourbon croissant bread pudding and peanut butter pie). Drinks were good too. \n\nThe ambiance is great and the real reason to come here, though very loud at night. Extremely overpriced for the quality. Overall I would recommend this place for lunch or a bar meal (I've been told you can order a burger at the bar during dinner).

Beautiful space, nice decor, and super friendly staff. The only thing is these guys are trying to pitch themselves as another Mastros-type high end steakhouse. For those prices, you expect them to be spot on in every aspect of the service. While our waiter was really a very nice guy, the service was slow slow slow - which i don't think is so much the waiter's issue as the management's not having enough staff to take care of everyone they are supposed to. The food was decent - nice quality, but i don't think it quite measured up to the considerable price tag associated with the food. I never have a problem paying $45 or $50 for a great steak, but it had better be awesome. Here it was good but not awesome.\nI think most of the issues have to do with this being new and them needing to get their act together from a serving standpoint. I would likely go back again to see how things evolved after another month or so. And - very pretty place (went for my wife's birthday) and the waiter was really really friendly and helpful.

We had been waiting to get a reservation to try this new place close to our home. We had a 5 pm reservation and when we told the hostess, she acknowledged us and told us we will be sat in a second. So we stood there for a few minutes noticing the other hostesses seating people talking to each other within the restaurant. After some time, I asked the hostess at the stand, should we wait at the bar and she replied, 'yes, we will be seating in a moment since we just opened for dinner.' Of course, this didn't make sense since other people had already been sat and then she let us stand there like idiots. When we were sat, it did take some time for the waiter to come over. Service was slow unfortunately. We had to ask for bread which cam e in the middle of our main course. The main course was ok, but nothing to write home about. Baltaire prides themselves to be a steakhouse, but they have nothing on Mastro's or even Ruth Chris. We had the beignets for dessert, which tasted like deep fried dough...no light and sweet. The decor of this place is actually pretty special and if you can get a spot on the open-roofed patio I'd recommend it - maybe then the din that we had to shout over while dining inside isn't a factor. The food was good, and in some cases very good, but not what I'd consider special. On the pricey side, too, but that's to be expected for Brentwood. \n\nThe lobster roll ($20) was delicious - almost as good as you'd get on the east coast - and the sea bass cooked perfectly. Salads and oysters were OK. I'd recommend street parking or public parking if you can find it - their valet parking was a nightmare as we had to wait 15 minutes to get our cars. \n\nOverall, pretty good but plenty of other restaurants so I doubt if I'd go back for a while.

This was our 2d visit. The first time, although very busy, it was good for conversation, the service was warm, and the piano player complimented the evening. \nThis time, the piano player, sang rather loud, the Sat. eve. crowd was very noisy, conversation was virtually impossible and the waiter had to squat and sit next to our ear to make himself heard.\nOur request for the quieter open air dining room was denied-and it looked like the hostesses were favoring certain people for that area. That will work while the restaurant is still 'hot' but has a way of catching up with the restaurant.\nThe food is expensive and generally worth it if the ambience is improved.

Only reason for writing this review is to comment on how a hostess can make or break a place with a pretentious, ungracious 'welcome.'\n\nI had an early, 7:15 reservation for two. Made it on Open Table a day or two prior, so it wasn't last minute and certainly not at a busy time. Most tables were empty when we arrived on time. \n\nI look like a normal middle-aged guy, well dressed and by appearances, prepared to spend some money and leave a decent tip. My guest was attractive and well dressed. We were offered a table in the busiest, most trafficked area in line with the kitchen. \n\nI deferentially asked whether the other, more distant and quiet tables were available and was tersely told, 'They're all reserved.' I remarked that I had made a reservation myself, a day or two prior, and asked how long in advance one needs to request one of these 'preferred' tables. Disappearing for a few minutes, she returned and moved us, saying, 'I guess you're right.'\n\nOtherwise, it's recommended for good, unremarkable food, a pleasant wait staff, in an interior with tasteful decor. \n\nMy tip to restaurant GMS: tell your host/hostess not to offer your customers—including new ones who may become regulars—the lousiest table in an otherwise empty restaurant. It leaves a really bad taste in one's mouth, no mater how good the cuisine.

Baltaire is a wildly popular steakhouse in Brentwood. It has the clubby leather and wood feel of a traditional steakhouse with the addition of an outdoor dining area. The service is very professional and courteous. The steaks and sides are uniformly excellent. The noise level, however, is deafening making table conversation virtually impossible. Topping it off was a live band in the bar area playing jazz. It was so loud that we could not even hear the band!

We've seen this location change hands several times over the decades, but this new addition to Brentwood is a real plus. The host was astute and professional enough to acknowledge those of us who actually waited in line to be helped by him, politely instructing the entitled twenty-something dollies who tried to shirk the line and approach from the side for their seating needs, to notice the line. That was a plus from the start. The open ambience, dimmed but not oppressive lighting, bustle of activity and beautifully designed interior are also inviting. We had a nice table in the main dining room, and were serviced very nicely by our waiter and the manager who enticed us with the beautiful tomahawk steak (on which we indulged). We also had the lamb and both meats were cooked impeccably. The lobster mac n cheese was creamy, w/the lobster deliciously sweet and tender. Salads were the right size with crisp, fresh greens and delicious dressings; wine choices were many and of great quality. We had two of the delicious desserts (bread pudding & ganache tart) and left as very happy customers.

We previously dined at Baltair on a quiet Sunday evening and had impeccable service, great food and wonderful ambience. \nThis time the service was truly awful. Food not delivered as ordered because of a complete lack of attention. The noise level was in fact, painful. We could not hear one another at our table for four. It's a jumping bar scene but definitely not a restaurant for fine dining. We won't be back

We had a lovely evening and everyone made us feel special. The waiter was very helpful with food and wine suggestions. We had a 6year old with us who thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The live music was probably her favorite feature. We were very happy with the overall experience. \n\nMy only complaint was that we were offered cheese before dinner with no mention of there being a cost. Usually cheese is offered as a clear separate course (usually after dinner before or in lieu of dessert) when it's clear that there's a separate charge. Also we ordered a bottle of sparkling water and when asked if we wanted another we said no. Later another bottle showed up which at that point we thought was complementary but it was not. These are not huge costs but I felt clear disclosure would have been appropriate.

Been to Baltaire many times, for both Lunch and Dinner and think it's great. We sat on the Patio, which I prefer to the indoor seating, especially at Dinner because it can get quite loud in the Dining Room on a busy night. It was just another good Lunch outing at Baltaire. We celebrated our 25th anniversary which was our first visit to the restaurant. We heard many wonderful things. Everything about this place is fantastic! They had a lovely anniversary card/message at our table when we arrived. The service was very friendly and top notch. The food was beyond excellent! We both had the filet with the blue cheese topping. This was the best I have ever had, and this is comparing to Mastro's, Palm, Cut, etc. some of the top spots. The creamed spinach and fries were to die for. Just be careful as the plates are super hot so do not touch. They were very accommodating when our daughter brought in a cake with sparkler candles to surprise us. We ate cake and gave our server a piece as well. What a fabulous place to celebrate a very special occasion. We will always remember this and will definitely go back.

We asked our waiter if the steak on the menu was antibiotic/hormone free and could not answer the question! Dining room is very nice but be mindful some tables are without proper lighting and some areas are a bit noisier than others. \n\nService is pretty poor. Distracted staff who forget to follow up on requests for water or bread or to check on missing appetizer was our experience. Sommelier came by once and said 'I am the wine guy' and then seemed annoyed when we did not want to order wine before the table had made decisions about what to order for food.\n\nActual food was a mix of good and very good but prices are high if quality only hits the 'good' level. \n\nOverall it is too bad that the food and service is not as nice as the dining room and convenient location for those of us in the area. \n\nIf eating in that area, Tavern (across the street) is a much better option.

This is the fourth or fifth time we've tried Baltaire. Now we're through. It's time for this place to go out of business so someone who knows how to manage an expensive restaurant in an affluent part of town can take over this lovely physical space.\nI can't remember the last time I spent over $300 for three people for dinner -- without drinks or dessert -- where I've felt more like I was 'enjoying' service at a poorly run DuPars or IHOP. So unbelievably ungracious and unprofessional. Add to that a $40 corkage fee after I was told 'let me check, if that's on our list you can't drink it.' Plus a truly mediocre $63 Dover sole entree with cauliflower and broccoli so steamed into oblivion no one could distinguish between the two. (And, when my 92-year-old father-in-law, while ordering, said he didn't like cauliflower, he was told 'we don't do substitutions.') Then there was the $12 baked potato that was -- impressively -- both over-cooked and luke warm.\nOne caveat: the sommelier was professional, friendly and gracious. Too bad he works at such a poor restaurant.\nIf I'm dumb enough to ever eat at Baltaire again, please kick me.\nThank you.

Liked what they did with decorating the place. The bar seemed nice and the wine list was nice, but the steak (ribeye), and the sides were mediocre at best. The steak was not marbled at all, and the sides were nothing special. Didn't understand why they didn't have any specials with truffles during peak truffle season (December). Overall a big disappointment. The grilled cheese and tomato soup tasted like something I made the week before at home. Not something I want to ever buy in there again.

First, we weren't offered a booth in an otherwise close to empty space. The server didn't introduce herself. But she did redeem herself by recommending a great Bordeaux blend. \n\nOver all, they took care of us. Our tip should have shown that. But I shouldn't have had to ask for the chimichurri and the wine. \n\nThe sunny side up eggs were good. The duck fat potatoes were good, just barely warm. \n\nAnd that leads me to the steak itself. Why was my steak sliced? I'm not 8. Why was it undercooked? I ordered medium rare and I got rare. Nice crust. But presliced. Who slices a steak before serving ?\n\nDessert was great. Coffee was great. Candle in my dessert was great and appreciated. \n\nI'm not in the business of sending back food unless it's unsafe or just the wrong items. I tried to make the best of it. Even had a couple bites followed by wine that were physical manifestations of what I had imagined up to this day. \n\nThis was just second rate. The food presented to us was not the same level as the decor or the prettiness of our serving team. I had a feeling the servers knew this about the food also.\n\nMaybe the Saturday brunch cook had a bad day. It's possible. Or maybe this place is a front for criminals to move money like so many of LAs restaurants. Not sure. I bet it's fun to drink there. The Bloody Mary was good.

Baltaire is a very good restaurant with good food choices, great tasting. But in the summer months the weather in Los Angeles can get warm and we MELTED on the patio. No fans, no A/C to relieve us, so it did affect the pleasure of our overall meal. Also, our waitress put our wine bucket next to the next table and not ours (out of a foot path) and made it quite inconvenient to be hot, sweating, and without access to our wine. I was hunting for an Easter Brunch in L.A. with 3 features: Bottomless Mimosa buffet, Roasted Lamb and Crab Legs. After receiving 'we're completely booked' responses from several brunches around town that fit that criteria, I felt quite fortunate to stumble upon Baltaire, even though it was $75. Little did I know that when I got there, there were no bottomless mimosas... I instead paid $56 for their cheapest bottle of bubbly - a decent prosecco, and the lamb leg at the carving station was so incredibly rare that I think I may have seen it make a few involuntary movements! Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed. I sincerely hope that their regular menu is far better than the brunch buffet. The only bright spot of this experience was the cordial and efficient servers.

After waiting one year since our 1st visit (right after Baltaire had recently opened) my husband and I were again very disappointed. To put it very frankly Baltaire has prices comparable to Mastros or Ruth's Chris with service comparable to Cheesecake Factory or California Pizza Kitchen. It was 5 minutes before we were even acknowledged once sat, then our server even said to us, 'oh, I didn't know you were my table.' When we ordered wine, we watched the glasses poured (we were seated near the bar) the saw them sit on the counter for 5 minutes as our server was talking to peers in a side station. The food was very good, but I wouldn't go back after two consecutive poor service experiences, exactly one year apart. I know the exact dates for both occasions because I went to celebrate my husband's birthday, which was noted in our reservation (both years) and twice this was disregarded and not acknowledged in the slightest. What's worse is that on this last visit, the table next to us was clearly celebrating a birthday as well because their server brought out a dessert with a candle

Underwhelming in every way except the bill. The brunch menu was an odd mishmash of not very appealing items, many too heavy sounding for midday. GIGANTIC pancakes arrived stacked on a plate otherwise empty. Avocado Toast looked slapped together, again served on a plate devoid of garnishes and not crisp enough to be able to easily cut in half without a steak knife and a lot of determination. It had none of the interesting flavors I expected based on other versions I've enjoyed at Pain Quotidienne and Tarte Tatin. The room had no charm and very minimal air conditioning and the restroom, while seemingly clean and roomy was nearly pitch black. Nowhere but an unshaded curbside to wait for valet. At least Tavern gives you ambience, good service and attractive food before it overcharges you!

I could have gone to Mastros instead, paid the same price, but get exceptional service and food. The crab legs tasted old and bland. Granted it's not crab season but I don't think a restaurant where more than half of the menu is seafood should be serving bad tasting crab legs. Observe before you buy. (originally posted on Yelp - 7/13/2015)\n\nAbsolutely disappointing. \n\nBeing a Brentwood resident and a steak lover, I had high hopes. I truly wanted to like Baltaire. I would give this place 2 stars, but due to the high prices, it gets downgraded to 1.\n\nCame for Sunday brunch with my mom. Great looking space, with tables on the inside & out in front of fireplaces that would be good to hang with friends. This used to be Cheesecake Factory? No way.\n\nThe restaurant was empty besides 4 other tables, but we didn't care. We were there for the food, not for a 'scene'.\n\nWe had:\nEggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon - average at best\nOpen-Faced Ribeye Sandwich - I LOVE cheese, but the fontina was overpowering. I pulled it off so I could try to taste the steak, but that did not save this dish. Fries were too salty.\nGerman Chocolate Cake - dry, flavorless, blah. Ice cream came half-melted.\n\nOur waiter was very attentive and friendly. When he learned we did not enjoy the cake, he took it off the bill. He did his best.\n\nThe restaurant manager looked noticeably aimless, and used his free time to check in on every table EXCEPT for ours. We were seated in the center of the restaurant, and he walked right by our table multiple times to check on others. \n\nWere we invisible? Was he purposely avoiding us? Is it because we are brown? Do I smell? I took a shower, so that couldn't be it. What a second, maybe I smelled of fontina cheese from the sandwich... Damn you, fontina cheese, foiled again!!!\n\nIt blows my mind that this restaurant has 4 and 5 star reviews. I've been told to give their dinner a shot, but after this experience, that won't happen on my dime. \n\nI can name many other steakhouses that deliver consistently, with higher quality, at the same (or better) price point. Don't waste your time or money. Go elsewhere.

This is my second time at Baltaire. Ive now eaten there for lunch & dinner & both times the tab was so high Ive questioned why! This location used to be The Cheesecake Factory for many years but now is a complete makeover and decor is beautiful. A very open floor plan with comfortable seating and even many sofas. Steaks can run $62 without toppings or sides. Salads and desserts naturally are more. I ordered the 8 ox filet medium and after returning it, the meat was still purple inside. So much it was barely warm. Their caprese salad is a 10+. No one does one better and the portion is sharable or even a full meal. We tried their German choc cake, pineapple upside down cake and bread pudding (NO raisins!). All were terrific. For sides we had the mashed potatoes, creamed spinach and steamed spinach. All good and enough for our group of 5. My biggest issue is the tremendouse price. Over $600 for our group and thats with only 4 glasses of wine. Mostly a quiet scene for the men in suits clientele. Service is very helpful & attentive & knowledgable. While I didnt say anything after my steak was sent back for more cooking (another in our party had to do the same) the mgt came to the table to inquire & i was forced to admit I still couldnt eat my steak. The ended up comp'ing my meal which was kind although I would have preferred a cooked steak. (Pink w/some red is fine by me). Note: ask for no salt when cooking, others meals were SALTY! But thats a typical issue w/steak houses.

Where to begin. The food was outstanding.. There was not one thing that we could complain about. My boyfriend and I are definitely foodies, so we made sure to order several different things to really get a good feel for everything they had to offer.\n\nWe ordered the spinach fettuccini, tomato bisque, Caesar salad, shrimp ceviche, Jidore chicken with lobster mac and filet tasting with fries. We didn't want the dinner to end. I recommend it all!! \n\nI can't wait to come back and try the brunch!:)

Perfect for lunch. Although we will NEVER go there for dinner again, I did enjoy lunch. The food was perfectly fine and the atmosphere is lovely. We had a beautiful, but clueless waitperson but an excellent busboy who took care of us as much as he could, realizing that she was incapable of effective service. I was touched by that.

The server did not listen to what was requested , it took 3 request to get a Manhattan, and in the end I asked for bourbon up, and he brought it , over. Then argued with me when askingFor steak medium rare on the rare side. Something about 900deg plates. Settled for medium rare and of course it overdone. I am sad, as I have family that live in that neighbor hood, and was hoping to find a regular restaurant to go to.. Baltaire will not be it.

The food was just fair and overpriced. The waiter tried (not so subtly) to up-sell the most expensive items on the menu. The space is beautiful; it is a shame they do not have a good chef in command. The bus-boys were surprisingly well-trained for a Los Angeles restaurant.

First of all, I'm old school when it comes to hospitality. I believe in service, service & service. Baltaire is a BEAUTIFUL restaurant, but the high level of noise from the time you open the front door truly takes away from the ambiance and experience. It's so noisy that it comes across as more like racket than positive energy. The service wasn't bad, but it wasn't anywhere close to excellent. When you're paying these prices you expect to be served and looked after, not pouring your own water & wine or plating your own sides. I understand Saturday nights are busy, but whatever happened to the team approach? While I understand that location can influence a business, the food looked great but was ridiculously bland and the fact that someone brought a dog (not a service animal and had it on the table and furniture) into the dining room was just plain nasty. So basically I drove an hour for a very unfortunate and almost 1K dining experience.

It must take incredible skill for a new restaurant to open in such a competitive territory and make the customer feel as if they've been there for years. Baltaire has achieved this. But don't get me wrong, this place is as relevant as they come. An accessible menu with unique recipes and quality ingredients. This was my third visit since its opening and it consistently gets better. Friendly service - excellent food - and a setting like none other. Brentwood has a tremendous weekend brunch on its hands and I can't wait to go back.

OK, you walk in and you are in a cavernous place that has SLS envy. The bar area is very cool, but speaking of cold, our party of 6 was taken to the patio where the wind was howling and people were literally shivering. When we ordered, the 2 lobster salads came with less than half of a claw of lobster, the steak which was ordered Medium Well came out so raw that a good vet could have saved it, and the others kept piling salt and pepper on their orders just to make them edible.\nOh, there was one saving grace---the french fries are really good.

Upon a friend's recommendation, my boyfriend and I chose Baltaire for our anniversary dinner. They had mostly open availability on a Sunday night. I made sure to let them know ahead of time about the occasion and both the hostess and our server wished us a happy anniversary. The cocktails and wine were great and ran about $12 a glass which I'd say is pretty average for a nice restaurant. We ordered the grilled octopus for appetizer which was delicious. Boyfriend had pork loin and I had salmon for main, the sides were meant to share so we got the brussel sprouts and mac and cheese. Everything was really really good, perfectly cooked and seasoned. For dessert we got the beignets and the pineapple upside down cake. Honestly those weren't anything to write home about, but they were on the house so we enjoyed them! The service was super friendly and we ended up getting into a Game of Thrones fan theory conversation with our server. Overall, great dinner and experience. Would totally go back again even if it weren't for any special occasion.

During the course of ordering we were asked if we wanted things like peppercorn sauce for our steaks. No one told us that we would have to pay for these items. The total cost of these items was in excess of $50. They even charged me $3 for the ice in my bourbon. That is the first time in my life that I have ever been charged for the ice in my drink. Simply unbelievable.\n\nOur steaks were over-cooked and not particularly flavorful. Other than that it was a great experience.\n\nJust the week before I had visited Alexander's Steakhouse in Silicon Valley. Their prices were the same as Baltaire, but the food quality and service quality were vastly superior.\n\nIf you decide to visit Baltaire make sure you fully inquire about all charges that you will be assessed. If you want to save some money be sure to bring your own ice.

My friend and I put it all back together while the waitress just stood there and watched us! We finally ordered our food. I ordered the sea bass which was so sweet I could barely eat it. He told me that the waiter was indeed wrong that the tail was frozen and there might be some shrinkage. Did he offer anything? Not one drink not a desert. The customer service is lousy. We were there for Mother's Day Brunch and apparently Baltaire doesn't normally serve brunch, nor apparently has anyone from the kitchen staff ever been to a brunch buffet. The menu was an odd mixture of random foods, the buffet set up was really strange with bagels at the carving station and fresh fruit in chafing dishes to name two oddities. That would have been forgivable but the food was awful - bland, boring, completely unpalatable. Unfortunately the meal was also ridiculously expensive, especially considering we barely ate a thing. On top of the super high-priced per person buffet, Baltaire had the audacity to charge $8 for a cup of tepid tea. The only good note was our server was friendly.

From the bar to the food to the service, you will not have a finer dining experience. Baltaire is a gorgeous replacement for the high calorie and low in taste Cheesecake Factory. The interior is absolutely gorgeous with an amazing open concept bar and restaurant. Here's what you need to do. Make a reservation. Get there early enough to sit at the bar and order a Julep (with your choice of liquor) from Cesan, a master mixologist, (the grilled artichoke is great if you're hungry). Enjoy the bar scene which gets packed (mostly with business men in the evening, but watch out the cougars come out later) in the evening. Once seated, you will hopefully be served by Lindsey who is an extraordinary server. So there is NOTHING that they do not do well here. The steaks are amazing. If you ask for 'rare' Lindsey asked 'cool in the middle, okay?' They don't mess around with their meat- seriously delicious. The sea bass with fermented black bean sauce was melt in your mouth delicious. The shaved vegetable salad was gorgeous and perfectly balanced. This eating experience was flawless, truly.

We took a group to Dinner last Saturday for a celebration and, as usual, it was just a great evening, Baltaire-style! We started with Champagne and some appetizers, Shrimp Cocktail, Mac 'n Cheese and Salmon tartar. Then, the salads, the steaks, the sea bass, the duck breast, the lab chops, the vegetables, and so on! Although we had all eaten quite well already, we forced ourselves to have dessert, as well. Hard to rank the desserts, but the bread pudding and pineapple upside down cake were our respective 'primary winners.' It was all excellent and our guests loved it. I'll begin with the one thing that was good, which was the steak and the asparagus accompaniment. The steak was prepared perfectly, piping hot, and served on a sizzling hot plate. Very good.\n\nNow for the rest of it. We had two appetizers which were completely bland. Both needed seasoning/salt (badly). Service was good at the beginning, when they were taking our order, but our server mostly disappeared after that. We had been given a gift card from close friends, which motivated our dinner at Baltaire, and then when we presented the card, we were told (on a Friday night) that their gift card system wasn't working so they couldn't verify the gift card value. We ended up leaving the manager with our gift card, charging a portion of the meal to my credit card, and as of now (five days later) it still hasn't been resolved. Even though the manager was nice and apologetic, this was very unprofessional and it should have been resolved completely by Monday morning at the latest. Baltaire is a very high-priced restaurant ostensibly delivering a great experience for a very high price point, but our opinion is that they are not executing close to the level of the prices that they charge for that uneven experience.

Everything was groovy with two exceptions: First, it was a cool night in winter and the ceiling screens were completely open. Around 9-9:30, a breeze kicks up and the temperature dropped like 10-15 degrees and everybody around our table, especially woman in dresses commented to a waiter how cold it was and asked if they could close the screens a bit. An older mgr. looking chick comes over and resisted closing the screens for some reason, so everyone froze and had to finish dinner with our jackets on!\nSecond, we all went to the bar around 9:50p and it was full of people laughing, talking and really enjoying the band! All of a sudden the band stops at 10pm and it totally killed the vibe so everybody up and leaves! That is just stupid and bad business!\nThe food and service were good though. We sat by the bar, ordered drinks and waited, and waited, and waited , and waited (yes that long!!!). After about 20 min we went back to the entrance to inquire about our table. Oh your table has been ready for a while we're told... And then it gets worse :( Our waiter was so rude... We transferred our drinks from the bar to the table and he says: What would you like for drinks!!! I showed him the drinks already on the table and said that we were fine for the time being and he rolled his eyes and disappeared for 20 more min... Then we ordered an entree and two sides to share and had the waiter roll his eyes again at us... Bad service all around which is too bad as the place is very nice and so is the food....

This was a nice surprise to walk into as I remember the Cheesecake factory that used to be there was dark with heavy furniture, the Baltaire restaurant is very spacious, open, pretty and inviting.\nWe had a table for 10 and the food was excellent, it took quite a while to arrive but it all came at the same time which we all thought was very good as we lunch every week and it has not been that efficient at all places, I had the Greek salad, which is made at the table and was very fresh.\n\nThe only down this time was our waitress , ( English accent, blond hair) she seemed very cold and not happy to be our server, I don't think we asked for anything out of the ordinary and I really believe we were an easy group to work for, but maybe she just had a bad day.....\n\nI would definitely want to go back and try it with a different server.

Baltaire is a seven month old ultra-premium steakhouse that is located not in Beverly Hills, but Brentwood of all places. Now who do YOU think of when you hear Brentwood?\n\nI was once told that the door of your home is your first chance to make a first impression and Baltaite doesn't disappoint. At the entrance is a huge grand door that looks too heavy for you to open. \n\nOnce inside, I am greeted by a very friendly host who quickly seats us and passes us on to our server, Tiffany.\n\nTiffany was not only knowledgeable of the menu but, she was also very friendly, witty and easy on the eyes. Overall, our entire service was excellent.\n\nWe were seated next to one of four people to be drafted by the NBA, NFL and MLB. So, we were in good company.\n\nWe ordered the standard, crab cake appetizers. They were good, square and with a bit more crust than most of Baltaire's competition. \n\nWe also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese which was exactly what you would expect. Rich, cheesy and with a nice top crust. The asparagus was asparagus.\n\nOn to the steaks (16 oz bone-in filet and ribeye) both were cooked perfectly and had nice crust and were tender. Although a touch more seasoning may be a good suggestion.\n\nBut the true star of Baltaire is the decor. The pictures do not do it justice. It's simply gorgeous. The bar is sexy. Even the bathroom is stunning. One of the coolest designs of the restaraunt is the section that is technically outside however you have the feeling of being inside. This is definitely where you take someone you want to impress.

Hello, it was sliced in the kitchen how can my steak come well done if everyone can see what the color is. \nI send it back and they make me another one. Never once did they offer to even bring me new sides?? Terrible I think this place is beautiful but I am going back to Morton's until they get better.

Enjoyed this beautiful new restaurant in Brentwood. Great bar scene, and good menu at the bar, also. It was a special occasion for us . Oysters for appetizer were delicious, salads just fair. Caesar salad had huge pieces of romaine lettuce which should be cut smalller, difficult to eat. We all ordered steak. Mine was cooked perfectly. We ordered sides, mashed potatoes delicious, sauteed spinach not good seemed undercooked. For dessert, the lemon pie seemed very dry. This is a new restaurant and with time I believe they will get out all the 'kinks', hopefully.

Took one of my account teams here for a quarterly celebration. We left the office early and had planned on more of a late lunch and drinks, arriving around 2:30pm but didn't end up leaving until 10:30/11pm as we had such a great time! The food is always excellent - from the starters (tuna/ steak / salmon tartare and lamb chops were favorites) to the steaks (all amazing) to the desserts (beignets are a must). We tried a lot of different things off the menu between us, as by around 8pm everybody was hungry again and the chef brought out some additional items for us to try. Great cocktails, extensive wine list with helpful recommendations, and we also enjoyed the champagne and scotch. Fantastic service... Tony, our waiter was great! He was super helpful with recommendations, very friendly and somehow managed to deal with us for the entire 8hrs we were there! This was a great choice for a group dinner and team outing and everybody thoroughly enjoyed it!

Finally a nice high-end spot on the westside. This restaurant has it all. The interiors are absolutely gorgeous, with a partial outdoor/indoor space that suits all needs. The menu mainly features various cuts of steak, and a few other options, but the appetizers and sides are plentiful. Little pricey but most of the servings can easily be shared. The wait staff was very attentive, and they have a nice little wine list by-the-glass, or bottle, which pairs well with the food. The bar area is really a nice spot to have a drink with friends, even if you are not intending to stay for dinner. The great thing about this restaurant is that you can actually hear yourself, and your guests, especially if you are seated at the patio dining area. Reservations are a must, even though the restaurant is fairly large. There is metered street parking, but it is not easy to find a spot, so valet is your best option. Definitely a nice place for a special evening out!

Spacious, beautiful space but overall, the restaurant needs some fine tuning to make it great. Example, the $18 Greek Salad was a gimmick, small portion and really nothing special. Would also be nice if the server who prepared it wore disposable gloves while squeezing the lemon juice into the salad. The bone in Ribeye steak was ordered medium rare but was delivered overdone. When mentioned it to the server, he blamed the kitchen instead of offering a solution. The table was wobbly thus made cutting into the over cooked steak a challenge without spilling drinks onto the table. Highlights: the mashed potato was nice and fluffy. Would like to go back again for a second chance.

Decided to try Baltaire on July 4th. This was our first time at the restaurant and we told the hostess that as we were seated and also mentioned it to the waitress. Ambiance was good --- lovely. Noise was such that it was hard to carry on a conversation -- the accoustics are not good (and it wasn't the piano player, he was good). Drinks were delivered rather quickly but the first course took a long time to come out and there was nothing to be cooked with that. Each of us ordered a filet but only one was delivered with the internal doneness as ordered. Instead of them both being 'medium' only one was and the other was raw. So raw that it had to be sent back. By the time it was redelivered my husband was through eating and needless to say, my returned steak was done but medium was not to be the doneness of my steak that evening. Being able to at least eat the steak as preferable to just leaving a $45 piece of meat on my plate. Needless to say, the evening was not great. We chose the restaurant expecting to have a lovely evening. By rights, with the price point of the restaurant, one expects exceptional service and food and unfortunately we got neither. We had to ask for coffee after dinner and never were given the option of dessert. Even with the disaster of not getting the steak right, the evening could have been somewhat salvaged if service had been exceptional and the customer's satisfaction key. That also was really not the case. We were way over charged for what the evening provided.

The meal started off strong w/ the very personable & seemingly attentive waiter. But after waiting 20+ min for a glass of wine, it got much worse. We ordered 6 dishes to share, but after the 3rd we were just forgotten. The waiter didn't come by for a very long time...no explanation as to why our food was taking so long until well after we decided we just were not hungry anymore (we had 6pm reservations & it was now 8pm!). We finally got our waiter's attention but he didn't want to discuss or try to explain he just asked if we wanted to talk to the manager. Very odd...as if this was a regular thing. B/c my friend & I were talking & distracted we were a lot less annoyed than most would be - certainly not irate or in any way rude...so it's strange the waiter immediately pushed us on to the manager. The mgr eventually came by to explain they burned the crab cake & had to make another one (huh? that was 1.5 hours ago - 1 crab cake don't take that long), & 2 vegi sides. We told him to forget bringing them out - we were full at this point. He offered a dessert on the house (they knew if was my friend's birthday) & so we ordered one to share. Still, we had to wait & flag someone down to get a dessert menu as we watched the manager stand to the side casually chatting with an employee perusing the rest of the restaurant. In the end he came by with the check & mentioned he made a substantial discount off the bill... it was substantial, but at that level they should have probably just comped the meal. They just don't have their system down yet. Everything looks impeccable, everyone is friendly & accommodating when they are in front of you, but falls off after that. A lot of wait staff hanging around yet they seemed overwhelmed when it came down to serving - as if nobody has the big picture. There was a table of 6 next to us & they didn't seem to get that right either, confused as to who had what dish. Yikes. I hope they fix this, such a great place.

First problem was a obnoxious, rude, condescending waitress. When we declined a glass of wine (it was 1:00pm), she grabbed the wine list out of my husband's hand. He asked for it back so we could see what kinds of wines they offered. Then after 5 minutes of sitting there, we had to ask a busboy to get our waitress. When she finally came to our table, we asked if we could order soup in an appetizer portion. She informed us that Baltaire did not have small bowls , but that the full portion was only a large bowl with a 'shallow' portion of soup! (A $16 shallow bowl of soup????)!!! We ordered the lobster salad, Greek salad and the lamb chop appetizer. A few minutes later, the waitress returned to our table to inform us that 'she' had determined that our appetizer would be served with our salads to\n'we would have a little protein with our salads.'!!!!!!! Obviously, she doesn't know that lobster and feta cheese ARE protein. When the food arrived, the lamb chops, ordered medium rare, were raw; the lobster salad contained shreds of some unidentifiable fish, dressed with a tasteless vinaigrette . The nice busboy tried his best to make the Greek salad edible. At the moment the busboy finished with the salad, the waitress ran over to our table to 'explain what went in a Greek salad.' Needless to say, we 'explained' to her that we were aware of what went into a Greek salad. Never saw her again until another waiter had to tell her we wanted our check.\nAs far as ambience -- we sat in the northwest corner of the large room, looking at many empty tables. But we did clock how long it would take for a waiter or busboy to pick up the plate of french fries and orange slice that were on the floor three tables away from ours!! (As we stood up to leave, a busboy \nfinally cleaned the mess). \nThis restaurant will not succeed and based on our one and only experience, it shouldn't . People in \nBrentwood won't put up with this treatment.

We were very excited to try this place as Brentwood is short on fabulous dining options. Our evening started out well as we entered the beautifully decorated and vibrant space. Cocktail hour was enjoyable though we did have to wait a long period for drinks and also track a cocktail server down to close our tab before we could be seated.\n\nOnce we were seated the disaster began. The service was some of the worst I have had in Los Angeles. I wont delve into details but lets just say we eat out and entertain in some of the best restaurants in the city 4-5x per week. This restaurant has a long way to go before we would ever consider returning. The food is average and extremely overpriced for the quality level, the service is incompetent and overall we had a horrible experience. We will not plan to return.

We went with a party of 6 and had the opportunity to taste a lot of different things, which was really nice because it's an expensive restaurant so I can't afford to go all the time.\n\nThe price: With meal, desserts, cocktails, wine, and bottles of Hildon water (I've only seen this in the UK, so it was a nice touch!), we averaged about $150/person; and this was dining extravagantly, so you can definitely eat there for less.\n\nThe Food:\n\nIn my opinion, the stars of the meal are the steaks and seafood, so don't go there just for a salad. Although you'll still be impressed with their veggies too.\n\nAppetizers: \nIt was all good and I'd rate everything a 9+ to 10. Here's the list of what we tried: Steak tartare, kampachi, lump crab cake (this one actually gets an 8, as I usually like the crab in larger lumpier chunks to taste more of the texture of the crab and less of the filling), jumbo shrimp cocktail (I've never seen shrimp this big before, and would probably be safe in calling it mini lobsters! I will definitely come back just for these shrimps with a cocktail at the bar as a nice pre-dinner appetizer).\n\nMain: Bone in ribeye 22oz, Porterhouse 40oz, Wagyu 6oz (rated A5 with an insanely perfect balance of marble-ization. It was pretty amazing and I've never had beef melt like butter in your mouth. Everything was seasoned elegantly and minimally, to let the meats stand out on their own.\n\nSides:\nFrites, broccolini, asparagus, whipped potatoes, mac and cheese. Overall, all perfectly done . . . for the veggies, there was a perfect amount of seasoning that balanced really well with the meats. The mac and cheese . . . very cheesy and delicious. I'm not sure what kind of cheese they use, but it had a great balance of subtle sharpness/tartness blended with the simpler wheat pasta flavor.\n\nCompliments to the chef and his team.

Although the food overall was good (but not great) and the restaurant is beautiful (although the bar stools tip and are uncomfortable), we unfortunately wont be back even though it's in the neighborhood and we love steakhouses. Bartender wasn't familiar with basic cocktails, and the worst was the GM. We ordered another round of a particular whiskey; we were told they were now out of it. Okay. No big deal. Chose another one. GM then comes over and says 'we are out of your other choice as well so I brought you this one instead. It's the same price point'. When I then said that whiskeys are very particular and I'd never heard of that one and could it please be taken away since I'm still having to pay for it, we were given attitude about how being out of things 'happens' (not 2 things in the first 2 weeks. that's poor management) and why couldnt I just drink this other one? the GM was rude and could not understand why I was rejecting the whiskey HE picked. Unacceptable, as was the slow service. Definitely NOT worth the high price point and inexperienced personnel at all levels. Skip it.

Creamed spinach with blue cheese again only OK.\nVery busy because it is new. I don't think I would go back. Quite expensive--not a value.\n$ 30.00 corkage, sommelier did not even come by to see what we were having and perhaps visit with us--totally ignored a couple of excellent well aged Bordeaux.

We dined at Baltaire about two weeks after it opened. They did a terrific job with the ambience, very modern, and very expensive. Waiter was very pleasant, and everyone serving us was good. We had a good view of the kitchen, and it was a wonder to watch. It was apparent that everything was done o perfection. Not only the food, but also the fact that each napkin was folded just so, etc. etc. \nNo complaint about the food, which was very good, and priced high, but fair.\nIt was not the best steak we have ever had, but the quality is high.

Good, but way too expensive. Drink portions are smaller than at comparable restaurants. Steak at $56 should have been served with a potatoe or vegetable. Everyone we came into contact with were very professional and accomodating. We like the place but it will have to be for some special ocassion.

Big surprise. After what seemed like a painfully long construction period, the owners of Baltaire have really 'nailed it' in my opinion. This is a stunningly beautiful restaurant...somehow bringing the outside in without impacting the intimacy and formality required by a truly upscale experience. Each of the employees seemed genuinely enthusiastic and proud. Service, only a week after opening, was close to flawless and perfectly timed. The serious bar action was fun, live piano was outstanding, menu contemporary for a steakhouse and all of our dishes were really superb. I'd call this Mastro's but a bit friendlier. The wine list is outstanding but it's a little too hard to find enough reasonably-priced reds. That being said, no complaints because our fully-priced meal was worth the entire experience. Crowd was a little old to imagine that it will be this crowded on weeknights but I certainly hope they can figure that out and be around for many years. Pleasantly surprised by the detailed and successful execution by the owners in a new format.

The patio for dining at Baltaire is really beautiful. The place is enormous and surely makes it difficult to time the food, as I've been twice in the first two weeks it opened and timing was very choppy both times. I'm sure this will improve with time, as they get the kinks out. Food is great, with lots of classic selections. The service is wonderful and much appreciated to have a restaurant want to be classy like this one does. Glad to see they added a projection TV for basketball. The bar does need a sports TV , especially for the size of the bar area. Music needs to be lower in the dining area and a more current playlist.

My significant other and I had a wonderful dining experience at Baltaire. Only open for a week, there no kinks to work out. Starting with the oysters, to my ribeye (cooked to perfection) with the superb wine pairing (spinach and sautéed mushrooms) and ending with the croissant bread pudding, an awesome time was had! We will definitely be coming back for more.

This is my new favorite steakhouse!! Everything from the drinks to the salads to the amazing Wagyu, the sides and the dessert was amazing!! The Wagyu basically melted in my mouth!! We had the Mac n cheese, broccolini and the loaded baked potato. For dessert the beignets and pineapple upside down cake. I wanted to try everything on the menu and will! We go to lots of steakhouses and maybe the steak is great, but the sides are mediocre, or the sides are great and the steak is just okay! I loved everything I ate. Also, from the moment we walked in the door, we felt very welcomed! We'll be back really soon! I'm in love with Baltaire!

Baltaire has, on every level so far, kept its promise to be what an excellent steakhouse should be...and then some. I would like my fish, seafood & vegetable-loving friends to know, though, that you absolutely need NOT be a 'steak lover' to enjoy this venue.\n \nMy friend and I went for lunch five days after it opened. She got there a bit ahead of our reservation time, but was seated right away...a very pleasant practice as contrasted with restaurants that make you wait until your entire party is present before they'll deign to show you to your table.\n\nWe both had, and loved, the Lobster Cobb Salad. It seemed a bit dear at $24., but the lobster portion was generous and perfectly prepared, as was the rest of the salad complete with 'lardons', an unfortunate name for absolutely delicious tiny cubes of organic, nitrate-and-seemingly-fat-free (ironically, given their name) bacon.\n\nOur waiter was charming without being unctuous, and present without being pesky...a total professional with a genuine smile.\n\nThe atmosphere was lovely...no loud music and the tables are nicely spaced for a sense of privacy...and the patio's retractable roof (in use due to the day's temperature hovering in the 90's) is opaque so there was a sense of great light without any heat or glare.\n\nThe dessert menu looked demonic (I mean that in the nicest possible way), but (perhaps thankfully) I had to get to an appointment so could not indulge...but I look forward to getting to the next time we go...which I hope will be far sooner than later.

Being that the restaurant had only been open for three days when we had our dinner, it would be unfair to be overly critical at this point as they are still working out the kinks that every new restaurant must endure during the opening phase. That being said, Baltaire's menu is definitely on the pricey side, and people dining there will come to expect a premium level of service at these prices. The wine pours are bordering on short, and at $23 for a glass of Pinot, I would expect them to be just a tad more generous. I do, however, appreciate the nice stemware. The food was good, but for the money, I personally do not think it was worth the high price tag. Our party of seven's bill came to just about $660 with tip. This included just one btl of wine at $56, and most of us came to the table with a drink from the bar (paid on a separate bill), with the average cocktail weighing in around $22+. Eventually the service will get better. It was very slow, both in the bar, and in the restaurant. Like I said, Day 3.... I'll cut them a lot of slack. A couple of months from now and hopefully they've got it all worked out. As for the staff, everyone was very friendly and accommodating to us. They seemed a bit overstaffed, but I think that was by design because of the limited amount of time they had been opened. It will be interesting to see what the level of interest is on the dining side of the restaurant. At these prices, I would expect them to be on par with some of the very best restaurant and steak houses in Los Angeles. At this moment, they appear to have their work cut out for them.

WOW had a fabulous experience the 3rd night Baltaire was open! GREAT food the bone in rib eye/brussel sprouts/John Dory and the greek salad were honestly the best in town! And now we have such a fabulous hip spot in Brentwood! The atmosphere was beautifully lit you could actually talk at the table with great background music. Loved the wine choices the staff was friendly and welcoming and smiling! We all made immediate return reservations!

At last, a great seafood and steak restaurant in Brentwood. The menu is eclectic, great service, wonderful sommelier , and they were very accommodating about my food allergies.

Baltaire may have been the best meal I've had in a while. It's a close runner up with the Hillstone Group resturants. Great service, great food, and great prices. Can't wait to plan my next visit to Baltaire!
