About Faith & Flower

Faith & Flower is a contemporary Los Angeles restaurant located in the WaterMarke Tower in DTLA’s South Park district. The restaurant’s name pays homage to the two major renaissance periods—the 1920s and modern day—that have fundamentally shaped the Downtown Los Angeles community, with “Flower” referring to the street on which the restaurant lies today, and “Faith” for the street’s alleged name during the early 1920s.

I loved the food and really loved the aesthetic of the entire place (especially the menus in the old books). My one reservation was the name of the drink Shiso Easy. I didn't get the pun until after I ordered the drink, and hearing the male waiter say it back to me just made me feel weird.

Our reservations were for 930p, we were about 20mins early and after checking in, we went to the bar to have a couple of drinks. The bartenders there that evening were very attentive, the cocktails were very very good. But we didn't get seated for dinner till just after 10p. We didn't start dinner till about 1030p. While our server was amazing... the food was so so. It was a fixed menu, we were aware of that. It all sounded very delicious though. Out of the 6 plates served, we only enjoyed two. I've been here many times before, but never for an event such as Valentine's Day. I'll keep coming back on a regular menu day, but not for an occasion like that.

Came for brunch and upon arrival, there were maybe 4 tables of customers, we were told to give the hostess a few minutes to check us in. Gave her about 5 before walking up to the podium again. She said it would be 15 minutes and to wait at the bar. Okay no problem. 15 minutes goes by and I head back to the podium. She asks my name and you can clearly see by the look on her face she never checked my name in. Luckily we were seated in one of the many open tables - ;) - Took the waiter, not joking, 17 minutes we counted! to come and bring water. Another 20 for those mimosas. And you can guess what the continuation of service was. Food was pretty delicious but I've found their lack of normal paced service to be a pretty common theme both during the daytime and evening. Definitely not a place to go to if you have any other plans that day.

I wasn't impressed. I took a girlfriend here to celebrate her birthday. I made reservations but we still had to wait at the bar for about 20 minutes even though there were plenty of open tables. Once we were seated, it took about 15 mintues to get our drink order and then another 20 after that to take our food order. The food took about an hour to come out. We were ravenous by the time it came. I was not impressed.

Amazing decor, menu and cocktails. Been several times always amazing, except today, worst service - seated 10:50 ordered and drinks put down 40 minutes later after asking two times, the second time our server said (after waiting 30 minutes) well you know they come from the bar, so....🤔 worst server of life. She has blond hair, pulled back and curly. She was just not meant to be there today. Our food took an hour 15 to be served and eating with another couple, their meal was served 5 minutes before ours. Over all, won't go back for brunch. \nManager gave us 25% off...no water refills, no coffee refilled, had to beg for service. Sad.

We went for brunch. It wasn't crowded, but each dish took a long time to come out. We had the kanpachi ceviche which was served with potato chips. They didn't quite compliment the fish. The prime beef picadillo was just ok. Definitely not worth the price even if the ground beef is prime. It just lacked flavor. The same goes for the $10 hash browns. If I'm paying premium prices, I expect over the top flavors that wow with every bite. What we did like was the kimchee cornbread, the eggs Benedict pizza, and fried apple pie. These were all very good, but not great enough to go back for again. Service was top notch. Great staff.

It was my first time here with my friend. We are foodies and love to try fancy new restaurants! The service was excellent! We had a wine expert help us with our wine selection and she decanted our wine for us aside from regularly checking on our glasses. We loved the constant plate changing so we weren't eating off the same plate for all of our dishes. We ordered oysters on the half shell, oxtail, bacon wrapped pork tenderloin, squash and bell peppers, langostino sausage and sea bass. For dessert, we ordered the apple crumble, which was way better than I expected considering I don't like apples in my dessert much. We also ordered the greek yogurt panna cotta and the chocolate mousse with coffee. Their coffee is bold and strong. This place is pretty pricey, but I think it's well worth it. I loved how creative the chefs were with their combination of flavors! Quite impressive! I will have to come back to this place for happy hour one day!

Good ambiance and service. Food was overall good. It's small plates, so they recommend a few plates per person. It can get expensive. We had the jerk chicken (good, but a little bland), deviled eggs, chicory salad (delicious), 12oz steak (cooked to perfection), garganelli pasta (incredible) and tempura green beans.\nLeap of Faith absinthe cocktail was an experience and totally worth the splurge.

The main courses were delicious and well presented. The oysters during happy hour were however, the smallest things we had ever seen. They were like the size of really tiny over cooked muscles after shrinking in the heat. Definitely not the place for oysters at all!\n\nWe sat outside as the bar/lounge area was full. As we were the only people sat outside I think we may have been forgotten about at first as it took them 10 minutes to come outside to take our order.

Amazing food and ambience. Quality food well worth the price. We each had a choice of 2 appetizers. There were 3 of us so we tried all of them. My friend was allergic to shellfish and the waitress showed real concern and made sure none of her items came in contact with any shellfish, which was very much appreciated. The appetizers were also regular size. Some places like to skimp, not Faith and Flower. The salads were delicious as well as the tempura green beans, albacore ceviche and beef carpaccio. The deviled eggs were ok. For the entree, we had the jerk chicken, butternut squash risotto and the trout. All were amazing, I enjoyed the trout the most. For dessert, we tried the panna cotta and a chocolate dessert. They both hit the spot. The only complaint is it could have been a little bigger. Overall, the experience at Faith and Flower was wonderful. Dinela gives patrons a chance to check out a restaurant and for the restaurant to impress their customers. I was impressed and will definitely go back. I highly recommend the dinela menu.

Faith & Flower...where to begin...\n\nLet's start with the positives: 1.) Service was out of this world. Never in my life have I had a dining experience with staff who was more friendly, helpful, and eager to make my dining experience as enjoyable as possible. I really tip my hat to the waitress that helped us that night; 2.) The alcoholic beverages there were incredible as well. They have some sort of a punch drink that is filtered/distilled with milk that is very good. They are innovative to say the least; 3.) Amount of food (Family-style mind you) that was provided was great and does not fit the stereotype of some 'higher-class', expensive restaurants.\n\nNow the negatives: 1.) I was very disappointed in the taste of the food. We ordered a wide variety of food from pizza and green beans to albacore carpaccio and ox-tail (Their most popular dish according to my server). My friend and I agreed that our favorite food was a starter pear salad, and that no other dish really stood out to us; 2.) The noise was a bit crazy at points to where my friend and I couldn't hear each other from only a few feet away.\n\nIn short: I would solely recommend going to F&F for their great, innovative drink menu and their service. Their food was sub-par.

Horrible, lackadaisical service at brunch today. The place was packed but we were seated in the patio area along with another table of two ladies. \n\nWe didn't receive our food until 2pm (sat down at 1230pm reservation) not much apologies except the kitchen is backed up. \n\nMeanwhile, the only other table in the patio with the two ladies received their oysters, kimchee corn bread, two lunch entrees, 3 cocktails (each) and 1 rose wine (each) their desserts and whatever else, while it took them 1.5 hours to even serve us our first bite which is the deviled eggs and then all the food S L O W L Y started appearing.\n\nOver rated and over it.

There is a cool vibe and lively yet posh ambiance about Faith and Flower. The service staff were all very helpful and seated us according to our preferences. The cocktails are a bit pricey, but have unique names/inspirations and look and taste good. Would recommend this upscale dining for a fancy occasion or romantic date to impress someone. I've been wanting to go to Faith and Flower for a long time so when we were looking for brunch before a show at the Ahmanson, we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is gorgeous - no doubt about that. \n\nWe weren't into sharing plates at brunch so we all chose our own things. I decided on the smoked trout benedict. I give it a C-. First of all it wouldn't hurt to pretty up the plate with greens but the big issue I had is that the trout was fridge-cold, too sweet and not very smoky. I was starving so I ate it but wouldn't recommend. My husband had the pancakes and a side of bacon. The bacon was delicious and he liked the pancakes. One of our friends ordered the hamburger but asked for no bun and a salad or veggies or fruit instead of fries (New Years resolution). This was apparently a big deal. It required multiple trips by our server to the kitchen and back. First it was that fruit or veg would be an upcharge. Not cool but ok. Then server said usually they sub with salad giving the impression no upcharge - so friend says ok. Server came back later and said even salad would be an upcharge. Whatever. At this point just bring the food. Burger arrived - ON A BUN. With a salad that was just simply dressed arugula. Nothing else. The upcharge didn't appear - not sure it was because a. they forgot b. there wasn't actually an upcharge or c. it was a comp because of the bun mistake. Anyhoo - it wasn't a great impression.

I can't say conclusively that this was the direct fault of Faith & Flower as to my following critique, but one of my twin daughters (Twin A) became violently ill less than 48 hours after our meal on Friday, December 23rd. She and her twin sister (Twin B) started their birthday meal with oysters. I don't know the specific name of the oyster, but it was milky white with a cream-like coating. They were both eaten by Twin A and my other daughter (Twin B) chose NOT to eat them. Twin A was not able to join our family on Christmas day because she vomited ten times throughout the night before (Christmas Eve) and the following day (Christmas day). The daughter (Twin B) that did NOT eat those particular oysters did NOT become ill. We all shared the rest of the meal which was deliciously fabulous. We called on Christmas day, but you were closed. I feel it is in my best interest to ask if you received any other calls relating to anyone else becoming violently ill. I'd like a response as to this question because this definitely needs to be noted. Thank you for your professionalism and courtesy. \n\nBernadette M. Pontrelli

Magnificent prix fixe on Christmas eve. Creative salad with persimmon and manchego enlivened with pomegranate seeds and roasted hazelnuts was addictive. The ocean trout was seared perfectly, plump and juicy. The squash ravioli was delicate and yet substantial - thankfully, the portions were generous but not excessive. The aged Angus roast was the best I've had in a long time - exquisitely flavored and probably tender enough for someone with no teeth. The apple crumble was definitely not grandma's apple crumble (unless she was a serious chef.) Not too sweet, bursting with fresh flavor. \nWill be returning soon for more of their ridiculously good signature cocktail (it takes 3 days to make.)

The ambiance is lovely albeit noisy with the high ceiling, the service was good but not a place where I would return.

The restaurant is beautiful and the food was outstanding, drinks were great as well. The bummer about this place is the service. We were there on a Saturday afternoon, it was not that busy. Had to wait over 20 minutes before anyone took our drink order. The food (again, really good) came out separately for all three of us, although they did apologize for that and brought over a free appetizer. When we all had our food we ordered another round of drinks just because we were afraid the waitress would not return  If you have a lot of time and don’t mind waiting you should check it out everything was delicious, just need the right frame of mind to go there.

An easy favorite restaurant. Food is very good, service is friendly and the ambiance is nice. Favored dishes are the steak tartare, seafood risotto and oxtail with marrow butter; excellent. It's shared plates and we ordered 6 small and entree sized items which was a good amount for three of us. There was some lag time in service on my last visit, but other than that the meal was well-received by my guests. One guest did not like her cocktail so ordered something else. It would have been nice if the wait staff would have removed the undrunk drink from the tab, as I believe is custom, but a small quibble.

Great atmosphere however service and food was surprisingly subpar. Came here with a group of friends right after the LA auto show and was really looking forward to our brunch however it was not nearly anywhere as good as we had expected based on other reviews. My wife's bourbon pancakes and my prime beef Picadillo were certainly something we can make it home very easily. My friend who was unable to get his eggs made to order to his preference of over hard ended up spending a ton of money for simply having eggs and side order plates of bacon. To be fair if I'm around the area again for lunch or dinner, I would hope to not have the same experience. For now, the two stars are most appropriate.

We got the waiters attention and asked if the eggs could be cooked a bit more. Then the waiter came back and said that is the way they are suppose to be. If we would like we could order something else. So what were they going to throw that dish out.?? why couldn't they just cook it a bit more. We said that is okay we will try to eat it that way. My husband I went here on a whim, and the restaurant was fairly empty at 5:30 pm on a Saturday; it started filling up quickly with other young(ish) couples, which is always a surprise during the 'early bird' hour. Our waiter (I believe his name was Hector) was fantastic and we took all of his recommendations - the English Milk Punch was a hit, as was the Harry Winston. The food was all delicious; we had: Carnaroli Risotto (one of the best dishes of the night), scallop ceviche (good, but I didn't realize it came covered in minced bell peppers, my nemesis food), oxtail agnolotti (really delicious - the stone fruits were surprising and the chicharrones were perfect), and the bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin (cooked perfectly), then the apple crumble for dessert. Everything is served in shared plates, and service was prompt and attentive. The ambiance is stylish and sexy. We will definitely come back!

Looking through my options on Open Table, as I often do in a new area or one I haven't been back to in a while, I came across Faith & Flower. It was around the corner from my hotel and looking at the menu made my mouth water. I had not seen foie gras as a main course anywhere in years. I made a beeline for the restaurant and I was not disappointed. It was fabulous. My friend and I needed to catch up and trying to talk over the music was difficult. We mentioned it to our server and it actually was lowered. Often, I only get lip service when I ask to have the music turned down. The green beans were also terrific. If I had any quarrel at all with my experience, it was that I was led to believe that some of the dishes were smaller than they actually were and so we ended up ordering too much. But, it did afford us the opportunity to taste more delicious things so it wasn't a terrible problem. I would definitely return and have no qualms about recommending it to friends.

From the moment we pulled up to the valet, this place left much to be desired. Nobody was at the valet stand when we arrived, and we waited for ten minutes in our car for someone to arrive. We even called the restaurant to tell them the valet wasn't there, and the hostess said, 'sometimes it's just like that when we open.' The distance from the valet to the front door is farther than most restaurants, and my elderly dinner companion and I were accosted by two different homeless people on our way in. When we got inside, the hostess told us our table wasn't ready (even though it was early and nearly empty), and had us wait in the bar. I asked the bartender if he had ginger beer, and he replied that they make their own 'bespoke' version. Get over yourselves and look up the meaning of that word, which is thrown around incorrectly and far too frequently in the wannabe hipster bar scene. My companion ordered a Chopin martini and the bartender looked at him blankly. It took five minutes of negotiation plus a second bartender to find a suitable substitute.\n\nWhen we were finally seated, we were given a cute booth (the decor is nice, I'll give them that). Oysters were good, but other tables got them before we did, even though we ordered first. We ordered the dry-aged ribeye, medium rare, which came out very rare. The kitchen did cook it a little bit more, but we discovered when our server brought it back that it was 90 percent fat. Not marbled, mind you, but full-on solid fat and gristle. So we sent it back this time for good. Unacceptable at that price point. The server did apologize but never was empowered to do anything without telling us she'd have to talk to her manager first. Seafood risotto was meh and came after the steak, which should have come beforehand. The broccolini was too salty. The server also failed to remove the steak from the bill and almost got away with the extra $50 charge, but fortunately I reviewed the check before we left. We won't be back.

Faith and Flower had a very nice atmosphere. It was spacious and decorated beautifully . The restaurant was moderately busy for Sunday brunch, and with a reservation, there was no wait time. In fact, our table was about fifteen minutes late and there was no problem getting us seated. \n\nThe service was attentive and the waiter had no problem explaining certain menu items and suggesting how much food our table should order. Although he recommended 2-3 plates per person, I think that is a bit too much food. I would suggest 1-2 plates depending on what you order. \n\nTo start our table started with a bottle of champagne and orange juice, or the 'DIY Mimosas'. The champagne was Rose, which was a nice, unexpected surprise. We started with a salad that contained fennel, citrus fruit, manchego and pistachios. The salad was light, fresh and a great start to our meal. We also had the benedict pizza, which our waiter said is the most popular pizza at brunch. The dish was definitely a heavy one, and I would only recommend it to share with others.\n\nI've never been for dinner, but definitely want to go back and try it. \n\nValet is available, which is a nice addition in downtown Los Angeles, where parking can be limited and a hassle.

The food was mostly very good, but somewhat uneven. For example, the kimchee devilled eggs were just too spicy (I know kimchee is spicy, but it is also complex; the eggs were simply hot), and some dishes could have used a lighter hand on the salt. Still, very interesting food, mostly well-prepared, and the service was excellent. Really long wine list (though we aren't experts, so I can't comment on the quality of the list). Note that most of the dishes are small - meant to share, though a bit larger than 'tapas' - but the pizza is actually quite generous; we took half of it home so we could have room for dessert!

My husband and I brought my in-laws here for Sunday brunch and we were blown away! The service was impeccable, the ambiance was beautiful and the food was delicious. Monk was our server and he was wonderful and gave our group fabulous recommendations. \n\nAlbacore Carpaccio 9/10 This dish was fabulous and had wonderful flavors. It was served with house made potato chips-- AMAZING. \nEggs Benedict Pizza- 9/10 The pizza was so well cooked and had a beautiful, deep smokey flavor with every bite. Since not everyone was a fan of hollandaise sauce, we ordered it on the side. It was perfect. \nKimchi Cornbread- 9.5/10 Unexpectedly my favorite dish. I was the only one in the group who likes kimchi, but everyone LOVED it. The kimchi flavor is incredibly subtle so you would not notice it unless you were really looking for it. It was sitting in a plate of smoked mozzarella fondue. So incredibly moist and delicious. \nPrime beef picadillo 7.5/10- I didn't care for this dish, but others in the group really liked it. Compared to the other dishes, I was underwhelmed. The beef was well cooked but the rice seemed a bit soggy. \nIberian Style Frittata 7/10- This was a good, basic frittata, but again, compared to the other dishes, I wasn't super impressed. There was nothing very memorable about the dish.\nGreek Yogurt Panna Cotta- 8.5/10- If you like yogurt or other non-savory desserts, get this. It has a beautiful, light, refreshing finish. It is served with a yuzu granita, which I though was very innovative and delightful. \nFried Apple pies- 8.5/10- This dish was served with three mini-pies in a bowl of thin vanilla custard. The pies were coated in cinnamon and sugar and filled with a delicious apple pie filling. \n\nOverall, such a fantastic experience and a great place to take out of town guests or to celebrate a special occasion. I can't wait to go back to try dinner!

There are relatively few good restaurants in this part of downtown and this is a welcome addition. The dishes are unique and well made. The service is prompt and careful. \n\nThe restaurant is large and seems to attract many large groups. There is something dissonant about the atmosphere - as it feels a bit like going to a large chain restaurant (Cheesecake Factory perhaps) and not to a smaller, more intimate chef-driven location where you might expect a menu like this.

A bustling Downtown L.A. 'scene' restaurant that is (almost) spoiled by its own popularity. After being seated in the back room where there were two boisterous millennial birthday parties were happening, it soon became clear that we would not be able to enjoy the meal for the DEAFENING noise level, which not much better in the main dining room. The service was very professional and friendly and the food was quite delicious, but the first courses took way too long to come out of the kitchen. I might go back here to eat at the bar by myself, but if you want to have a normal conversation with a friend over dinner, you'll have to find somewhere else that doesn't have the decibel level of a NASCAR racetrack.

All the dishes we ordered were at best lukewarm, and in the case of the duck confit, basically cold. The risotto was bland and runny, and the pasta had very little flavor and was also on the runny side. The ceviche was fine, though nothing special (though the potato chips were tasty). \n\nThis is a very expensive restaurant, but even if it were moderately priced, it still would not have been worth it. We've been wanting to dine here, so we finally did with the Dine LA week.\n\nLocation: it's in the corner of Flower and Figueroa St. Valet park at Figueroa, cheaper than any other valet parking. \n\nDining area: wow! When you enter there's a nice patio, where you can eat and enjoy your meal on a nice warm day. Inside is beautiful. Liked the decor and the vastness of the space, high ceilings , plenty of natural lights since there's a lot of windows. Comfortable booth seats, spaced well in between diners.\n\nService: friendly receptionist, attentive wait staff and knowledgeable sommelier.\n\nMenu: original presentation, it's like a little book written in black and white and after the menu is a book with chapters in it written in Latin. Interesting.\n\nFood: We went ahead and did the Dine LA. My husband and I got the four starters since you have to choose 2. Everything was so nicely presented, the combination of ingredients intensely blend with each other. The marination of certain flavor does not overpower the complexity of the dish.\nDeviled Jidori egg and calamari seared on the Plancha is a must.\nSecond course: Carnanoli Risotto, wow oh wow.. Two medium fried eggs on top of the risotto. Mix it together and voila, you will never stop saying hmmmmm. Duck leg confit was moist and tender. Enjoyed it till the last bite. The desserts were not that impressive but it's okay to try it.\n\nOverall it a very nice experience. Even though there's mixed reviews about portions and price, but I think it's comparable to most of the nice restaurants in LA. We will definitely go back again. And by the way their wine list is extensive and moderately priced but we enjoyed our Premier Cru from Beaune, nicknamed by our sommelier as 'Vinny G'!! It blended well with the dishes.

the food wasn't very remarkable. The pizza's were good and that seemed to be the value. A special mother's day menu included a drink for $2 more than was offered for the same drink on the regular menu. There was a bit of 'discussion' before the waiter agreed to take the $2 off the bill. The dishes were served all at different times. We were told that the deviled egg dish (which was nice) would be served first since it is basically an appetizer, but all of the food came at different times and this wasn't as i think it should have been. The room is lovely, the waiters and employees were very nice. We treid the 62 degree egg, needed seasoning...the oxtail soup, this was very good. The steak with poached eggs, also unremarkable and needed seasoning. The Burrata Pizza and the Mushroom Pizza, both were good.

Faith and Flower is why we find new restaurants to go eat at. First, the drinks were fabulous. I had a milk punch, that I was not thrilled and the description, but at the waiter's insistence, it was unique, and fantastic. The spring pea salad tasted of spring, and had homed ricotta that melted in your mouth. We ate early on our way to the theater and we were satisfied but not that awful full feeling. Also, the room is beautiful, light and airy.

Gorgeous environment with somewhat lackluster food. This is my 3rd time at F&F and the first lunch about a year ago or so was spectacular, recent dinner and lunch this week were just okay.\n\nSmoked Trout, Cod and Kale salad were carefully prepared but all three dishes needed a bit more flavor. Fish dishes could use a more texture and maybe some acidity to complement the oiliness of the fish. The dishes are lovely to look at but the flavors could use some enhancement.\n\nLove the house-made ice cream pops. Perfect little treats that offer a taste of rich, creamy dessert without blowing my diet. Espresso was very good.

Dining experience started out well. However we were seated in one of the rear areas of the restaurant, but not a private room. Midway through dinner, a large group (about 20 people) came into the area for apparently a reception. They did not sit at tables but stood up around the area conversing, drinking and eating passed appetizers. Our server was also serving the group so service to our table came to a standstill except when manager came to our table to offer the dessert menu, we hadn't even received our entrees. We had to shove our way out of the crowd to leave our table.\nIf you do go to this restaurant, do not sit in the rear area of the dining room.\nHence, food was really good, but everything else was very disappointing.

I'm docking one star because although the four of us were seated promptly, we waited nearly 20 minutes for anyone to welcome us and bring waters/menus etc. My husband had to get up and return to the host podium to let them know we had seemingly gone unnoticed by the waitstaff. The management apologized with a free round of cocktails, and after we met our waiter everything went very smoothly from there. The restaurant is beautifully decorated in a vintage modern style, with high ceilings, antique chandeliers, armoirs and mirrors throughout the space. The food was very good, memorable selections included our appetizer of albacore tuna sashimi, the lamb agnolotti in bone marrow butter (absolutely amazing, do not leave with out trying this), and the jerk chicken. The vegetable dishes (beet salad with ricotta, tempura fried green beans) were delicious and the desserts were unique (a yummy toffee cake that tasted very good for you, like a sweet bran muffin, and another pistachio & lemon themed dessert that wasn't really my style). My only gripe was that the waiter made it a point to say he was going to bring the main dishes (in between apps and dessert) out in a very deliberate order, which ended up being salads, vegetables, pasta, and meats. Basically lightest to heaviest. We had ordered 3 meat dishes (the jerk chicken, a pork porterhouse and rib eye) and by the time we got to tasting them we were too full to truly enjoy them (and therefore they were less memorable). I would have preferred everything to come out in the opposite order - meats/pastas, vegetables, then salads at the end, just before dessert. It was strange. I would go back, if only to have some of there very inventive and award winning cocktails (who thought we'd be driinking something made with 3 day aged milk?) and the agnolotti in that heavenly bone marrow butter sauce (Good God, that is surely why he invented taste buds.)

UnFoodiebelievable food, drinks, and service. Had dinner with an old friend and when we dine we like try all the popular items to see where our tastebuds fall in relation to the general population-geeky foodies I guess. Anyway, this place is on point with it all and our waiter Zak was the cherry on top in his stellar service and deadpan comedic timing. When, not if, you go have the albacore appetizer, the melon salad, the chicken, and the ok tail, and any beverage on the long list that the server recommends- but my fav was SheSoEasy. Sip slowly, breathe deeply, and enjoy immensely!

Service was good, not great. The people removing the plates were a bit irritating when asking permission to remove plates before we'were finished, and it was annoying when they continued to ask, after each removal, if we were expecting anymore food? Isn't that something that should be coordinated with the server? We had 7 small plates and two desserts for the three of us. Wine list had a good variety and affordable prices. Be careful when the server asks what 'type' of water you want. Say 'tap'. Somehow we ended up with 'bottled flat' for a fee. Food overall was very good. Will pass on the tempura green beans (too salty) and burrata pizza ( not impressive) . Duck, pea salad and oxtail agnolotti were our favorites.

First of all, the hostess was great. She greeted us with a big smile and took us to our table, but the table was squeezed in-between 1 large party, and another 2 top, that wanted to share the same side of the table. This was not going to work at all, so she took us back, and figured it out. We ended up sitting in a lovely window banquet table. \n\nThe food was okay....the drinks were good, the service was good as well. I really wasn't that blown away that I'd come back. The bar area looked more inviting. Not sure what was on the TV, but that always sucks for a PM dinner to have the news on, or sports. \n\nRight now, I see that F & F has charged us 2x for the dinner. Perhaps one of the charges will come off in a day or two. We'll see.

Food was absolutely terrible - everything was extremely too salty or too bland and there was not even one dish I enjoyed so that by dessert time, my party had no interest in trying anything else on the menu. The cost was $340 (including gratuity) for 4 ladies who shared the $74 24 oz rib eye (salty), cod (bland), oysters, risotto (bland), etc, among other popular items on the menu. I would expect excellent food quality for this price. The restaurant itself is beautiful but I can't see it staying around for long with the food served-- especially with all the other great options in LA. We leftover much of the food and I went home hungry and had a piece of toast! I also had stated on my reservation that we were celebrating a birthday and although it was acknowledged at check-in, our waiter made no mention of it during dinner. We won't be returning...

Faith & Flower is decorated in a mid-1800s French cafe style--the menus are inside books (with full chapters of Lorem Ipsum to confused those that are unfamiliar with it), the cups are green, absinthe goblets (they do have an absinthe cart for those that like the taste of anise), and the chairs are wingbacks or similar.\n\nThe service was upscale, friendly, and we always felt well-tended. The server even when as far as letting us know that the DineLA pork dish (bacon wrapped loin/shoulder) would be served medium. If you go by the Yelp reviews for similar restaurants, people cry bloody murder when pork is served anything other than bone-white. However, F&F's pork was consistently rosy-pink throughout and was like a soft ham with a crunchy bacon exterior. The dishes are all intended to be shared, which can be a bit weird given their size (not very large, but extremely flavorful). By the end of the meal, we were extremely satisfied and received the perfect amount of food to not feel neither hungry nor gross and bloated.\n\nIf I had to order off the regular menu, I would put it on the pricy side, but given the quality of the cooking and the ambiance, I think it's worth it for special occasions. For DineLA I would like to commend the restaurant for providing well-thought-out desserts--the greek yogurt was like a small piece of art with burst of flavor here and there and the bergamot icecream was definitely a new way to experience that flavor.

This restaurant is a surprising discovery amidst the contemporary office building it's in. But it's worth coming downtown for this great dinner spot. The trendy small plates menu offered our group many options and the food was fantastic. From the raw Pacific Northwest oysters to the deviled eggs with kimchee seasoning, the meal was delicious. Of absolute note is the rib eye with bone marrow bordelaise. It comes sliced, but the seasoning and flavor was absolutely incredible. A favorite at our table. Other dishes, like carnaroli risotto and the oxtail agnolotti were also quite good. \n\nCocktails were creative and original and well made from the plentiful and well stocked bar. \n\nOur biggest complaint: we didn't know that ALL the dishes came out family style and that was not explained to us when we ordered. Our selections might have been different and we wouldn't have been so frustrated when dishes came out one by one. I've been to plenty of sharing plates restaurants, as is the trend, and generally speaking it's either noted on the menu or explained by the server. That bit of information would have made our meal more enjoyable and far less frustrating.

We came because the restaurant was participating in DineLA and the menu looked good. All the service was excellent. Engaging and attentive wait staff, fun and knowledgeable sommelier(excellent recommendations, not ones just to increase the cost). We all stayed with the DineLA menu, which I thought was very good. The food, also was very good. Ambiance energetic, up beat, a tad loud, but not overly so. I would not call the restaurant quiet and romantic, more a fun, happening thing. If downtown I would return. Had a great experience food-wise; however, it was a bit marred by a few unforeseen circumstances: \n\n- Firstly, it was a birthday reservation. Yet none of the wait staff seemed to have acknowledged it. We loved our waitress, but was surprised that somehow slipped her mind too. \n- Secondly, the 30% gratuity charge for 4 people. Our waitress certainly deserved a high-tip, but this was pre-calculated into our overall bill without prior notice. Think this charge should only be applicable to parties of 6 or more.\n- Thirdly, tried paying with OpenTable Tab with my promo code. Didn't go through at all, even after switching to my debit card. I've used the app successfully for two other transactions which went smoothly. The GM, though well-mannered and sweet, didn't attempt to do much to rectify the issue and instead blamed OpenTable on the faulty transaction.

This is the second time since the Farm of Beverly Hills closed that I have gone to Faith & Flower for a pre Clippers game brunch. It will be the last.\n\nThe place is pretty, airy, close to Staples, and has interesting art. It would be a great place to go before a game except for the attitude of the kitchen.\n\nWe got there early, two other tables in use so there could be no excuse for the kitchen to be unaccommodating except a bad attitude and hubris. The menu is not exactly traditional as far as breakfast goes, but I knew that. I understand that there was no omelet on the menu and making one, even when there were virtually no other orders, might be a big ask, but they have eggs, they have a pan, really shouldn't be a big deal. But, I'll forget that problem...and go to: the menu lists sunny side up eggs and the place refused to turn them over! Are they prettier yolk up, sure; are they less healthy that way, yes; is there a legitimate reason for refusing to make them over easy, no.\n\nThe food itself was hit and miss (her eggs over polenta, good if not done the way she wanted; my Martguerita pizza less so, almost no basil and overcooked to being dry) but the Gjelina-like attitude has made me vow to find another place before the next Sunday afternoon game

Eh. I've been here plenty of times for lunch and it's a very different experience at dinner. For starters, I walked into an empty restaurant and somehow the hostess managed to sit me at the most uncomfortable long table. That long beige tufted bench is not comfortable and since they had several nice booths available, like, maybe 5 nicer seating options, it's unclear why I was sat in such a bad option. \n\nAlso, they sat 3 other tables very close to us, so the empty restaurant actually sounded packed. The hostess also recommended that we order 5-6 plates 'sharables' and that was very confusing as the prices on all of these plates are $$$. We were seated under a speaker and when we left, about 35% of the tables were empty/had not been sat while we were there. Not including outside which we didn't know was an option. It was our first time at F&F and had high hopes from the reviews. The food was very good but the wine selection didn't measure up. The service was very good but because it wasn't so busy, I don't think we had more than 30 seconds without someone coming to the table to do something. But guess it's better to have too much service than not enough. I think F&F might be more suited for big groups than romantic evenings. Or maybe going to the bar. That looked quite nice. Waitress totally ruined our experience! Our group of five wanted to order the Pork Porterhouse for each as the main course. She explained the portions were quite large and after several failed objections from the attendees, she insisted on putting in an order for just 3 'you can order more if you want.' Three in the group are French and two visiting from Paris (last night) - and are big eaters. There was just not enough food, because the porterhouse cut has a large portion of bone - which she neglected to mention when showing the size of the meat via hand gesture! They did not want to have to order more - they wanted what they wanted. One friend actually left the table in disgust during the ordering process. I spoke with the Floor Manager and told her how upset we were and demanded the entire meal be comped - which she did along with a sincere apology and offered her card, saying to please contact on the next visit; she would be sure to take care me. General Manager tried to make amends by offering shots - but all we wanted to do is leave. Upsetting and totally unforgivable. I've never encountered such arrogant behavior in any restaurant in this country or other - ever! It was my third visit however, doubt I will be returning any time soon.

Service was lacking when we visited this past Sunday. We asked for hot sauce after receiving our food but it took forever. I was almost half way done with my meal before they brought out the hot sauce. Plus, it took forever to get our check. For the price of the meal, the ambience of the place, and the high reviews that this place was given on Yelp & on different blogs, this place did not deliver. Will not be recommending this place or will be returning again.

Overal wonderful experience. The cocktails were delicious and potent. The milk punch was unique and an experience in itself. Days later, the food is still a topic of discussion and only good things are being said. The Kim chi deviled eggs, the house made pastas, showgirl peppers and so much garlic. Every bite was a hit. \n\nWould recommend this place to any friend although it can definitely get pricey. Worth it to really knock a date out of the water.

I stayed in LA for one night at an Air BnB. The host recommended this restaurant and I was truly impressed. I made a reservation online the same day using Open Table to ensure we would get in. We came earlier than expected and had to wait for our table to be ready at the bar. The bar was very cool and the bartender was awesome. We loved every drink that we tried. Our table was ready right before our reservation time. We loved all of the food. The deviled eggs were fantastic and very different from any others that I've tasted. We also got and loved the Oxtail Agnolotti.

Stellar service, from the hostess to the waitress to the busboys. \n\nI tried the 'milk punch' everybody mentions. Not a big fan of cocktails, I enjoy my drinks straight, but this was mighty good. One wasn't enough.\n\nNow, the music. Too loud. It sounded like a playlist from a frat house in the 90's. Not that I didn't like it, it just seemed a bit strange to hear 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' by Nirvana at that volume at a restaurant that seems to be going for the whole upscale look.\n\nThe food was just okay. I'm all for creativity in the kitchen, presentation, organic products, local produce, fusion, etc etc. But none of that means anything unless the food tastes good. At a certain price range, it better taste great. I wouldn't consider this an expensive restaurant until you factor in the amount of food you're getting (these are tapa style dishes). The wife is barely 110 lbs. She and I shared 6 dishes at the waitress' recommendation. We could have easily gone for 10. Portions are small. \n\nEverything was average. It wasn't horrible by any means, and it was obvious a lot of time went into creating the recipes, preparing the food and presentation, and the ingredients were high quality. It just didn't impress from any angle. What's the point of all that effort if the final product is not going to wow.\n\nPretty restaurant, great service, strange music, very average food. Not enough for me to recommend or to go back.

They were running behind on reservations and couldn't get us seated at first so we went to the bar. The bartender seemed like he was in a bad mood and was complaining to the people next to us about how much he was getting taxed. Checked in with the host 30 minutes later about getting seated and she seemed annoyed about it and to hold on because they were gonna get us seated in just a sec. Got seated along windows to right and was probably about 10 inches away from the two parties sitting next to us, so we could barely slide past tables to get to the couch. Food was absolute amazing but took forever and had to keep hailing over our server for everything. Came here to celebrate a birthday and made a note of this in the reservation and no one made any mention of it. Might come back for some delicious grub but the service was terrible.

My friends and I were NOT impressed with the food. Actually, we were so disappointed at how salty EVERY dish was. The agnolotti would have been good except for the overwhelming salty oxtail inside the pasta and the salty marrow butter sauce. I had 3 bites which was all I can take.\n\nThe pizza was good but the meat, again, was too salty. \n\nOverall, the food (7 different items that my friends and I shared) were just NOT impressive. Overall my experience here was very mediocre. The ambiance was nice but the fire alarm was going on for half of our meal and flashing (they did give us a free dessert but the waiter said this happens often). They were out of Mezcal for their own signature cocktails. The waiter (who was lovely) heavily oversold one of the members of our party on another drink and she didn't love and was very different than the suggestion she asked for. Finally, we ordered the 'jerk chicken' which our waiter lavished on about but was actually not prepared jerk style, it was an anise soy glaze. Overall, if you're in the mood for 'kind of a nice dinner' this place is definitely that.

I have only overwhelmingly positively things to say about my dining experience at Faith & Flower. My husband has a severe nut allergy, to which I alerted the kitchen in advance and which the restaurant went above and beyond to accommodate -- checking ingredients, altering dishes, and even warning my husband against a cocktail that included Orgeat (an almond liquor). We were kept waiting for close to 30 minutes even though a lot of the tables were empty! I still have no idea why were kept waiting for that long! \n\nWhen we finally got seated a lady came by to 'apologize.' I understand that the lady was trying to apologize but if I express my unhappiness to her and the feedback I get is 'That's why I'm here' it makes you question if the apology is sincere. This whole experience was a waste of my time and I would have wished a better experience. Sunday brunch with a friend's college age daughter was peaceful--too peaceful. I understand that no one particularly wants to work the first Sunday shift, but at noon having one waiter working both the bar and the tables near the bar was not enough. The bus staff pitched in, but when we had to wait an hour after we came in to get our first, cold, dish, and then half an hour longer for a couple of hot brunch dishes, plus another half an hour for a forgotten side dish, we weren't interested in seeing if we could get dessert. The place wasn't empty, but it wasn't crowded, either. Reminders to check on our food were taken cheerfully enough, and we didn't make a fuss, but it was just too long. I wondered if the kitchen was understaffed.\n\nWe had:\nAlbacore carpaccio with fennel and radish: good, solid product, nothing outstanding but nothing unexpected at $17\nEggs benedict: promised smoked trout and trout eggs, but looked and tasted like smoked salmon and salmon eggs; could have been mistaken on the smoked fish, but definitely not on the fish eggs; still good if overpriced at $20 for the pair\nPrime beef and eggs: sold as their version of steak and eggs, but it was ground beef, so more like beef hash; mediocre at best, and overpriced at $17\nRoasted asparagus: good, with an odd sauce including fragments of cooked egg white that looked like chopped bits that might have been trimmed off the poached eggs, but again, not sure that 6 spears were worth $12\n\nFor the prices charged, the lack of service was inexcusable; I've never had slower. As I wasn't sure where the fault lay, I still tipped decently, but I'm not going back.

Faith and Flower is an absolute 'must dine' for the food scene conscious visitor to LA. Small (actually more like medium) plates of a wide variety of well executed and artfully plated deliciousness. Attentive and personalized service does more than just take your order, they plan the arrival of your choices like a director, ensuring a proper flow to your evening. The bartenders are so good, I found myself wanting to order the classics (Old Fashioned, Manhattan, etc) just to experience how well they do it...and they do it VERY well. But their signature drink, the Milk Punch, whose name couldn't be further from the contents and consistency of the drink itself, might be the greatest cocktail ever created. Get one. We started with the green bean and a crispy prosciutto salad, next they brought our pork tenderloin with Cavatelli, and finally the ribeye with risotto. All were delicious. We ended with the baked Alaska - which was much too much for three guests! Our only complaint would be the service. Faith and Flower is gorgeous, really a stunning place. The service is professional but the food is mediocre and the menu is actually very limited. Also, the 'small plate scam' is getting old. The portions are tiny and expensive but you are forced to share everything - that's the rule. Further, nothing is served together so you end up eating your side dish before the main dish is served. The large ribeye steak was grisly and simply was not a good piece of meat. Everything is heavily salted too. One bright spot was the cucumber salad, which was quite good. Last, Faith & Flower plays 80s tunes really, really LOUD. A woman near us asked to turn the music down a bit and the response was more or less 'leave if you don't like it.' Not a winner.

As w/many other tapas places, food is delivered as the kitchen desires, not what makes sense or how the customer wants it. (Hence why we cancelled the pizza as it was last). Desserts were good. I had the apple crumble w/decaf latte'. BIG MISTAKE W/the coffee. I WAS ZINGED and awake for 8 more hours as it clearly wasn't decaf!!!! Classic caffeine reaction for me. Horrible mistake for a restaurant to make & I can't return as a result. I ordered decade, asked again when it was served so... They can't be trusted, which is sad. \nAtmosphere is great, service superb. All dishes had great flavor. Skirt steak was my least fave as it was tough. \nWould return if I could trust them.

Compared to other restaurants where we ate (Otium, Republique, Cassia, etc) this one didn't measure up. Portions are tiny, the attitude is a condescending (explaining how to eat family-style), and the menu is trying to be too off-beat to be memorable. Even the drink menu was deliberately random and obscure - milk punch? I also didn't love the location in the bottom of an office building. Unfortuntely the pictures online are deceiving relative to the actual experience. It just wasn't as fabulous as it looks. Too many other standout restaurant options to add this one to any short lists.

Faith & Flower is a great restaurant if you are looking for a nice upscale restaurant experience, fit for a date or a special night out, in the heart of downtown. I enjoyed the food here, and especially enjoyed the ambiance, but felt the service was a bit 'overbearing' for lack of a better word. Also, the value for what you pay I felt was poor, but this unfortunately is the norm for DTLA restaurants.\n\nMy wife and I sampled and enjoyed a few items, and we were impressed with the taste, freshness, and quality of the food.\n\nMy major complaint was the service basically hovering over our table, waiting to whisk away plates and utensils the moment it seems we might be done. To quote from an article in the Washington Post (The Most Annoying Restaurant Trend Happening Today):\n\n'When a server clears a plate before everyone is finished, he or she leaves the table with a mess of subtle but important signals. Those who are still eating are made to feel as though they are holding others up; those who are not are made to feel as though they have rushed the meal. What was originally a group dining experience becomes a group exercise in guilt.' \n\nI would suggest to Faith & Flower to cool off on the hyper-attentive service, as it can be a bit detracting to the experience.\n\nOther than that rant, I did enjoy my experience and would hope to dine there again. I will reserve it for special occasions as the food is good, but everything is quite expensive and doesn't carry a lot of value. The setting is elegant, and really lends itself to a comfortable and pleasant dining atmosphere.

Ordered the steak tartare, oysters, beet salad, and baked alaska. The steak tartare was pretty interesting although not exactly appetizing to look at (but that could be the nature of any raw steak). The baked alaska was delightful (to watch, they pour lit absinthe on it, giving it hint of licorice-y flavor, and eat). Our servers were very nice and took the time to explain the dishes in detail when presented. The ambiance is nice and elegant, a nice place to meet or celebrate an evening. The noise-level is a bit much, but that could've just been where we were sitting. I recall the patio is less noisy.

Our waitress was incredible at encouraging the 3 of us to order 'outside the box' and share everything. All of the food was delicious and thoughtfully presented. I especially appreciated the various servers who explained each dish as they brought it to the table. The only drawback was the noise level, making conversation difficult at times. But the food will bring me back!

This is a foodie place. Small but eclectic menu. They are known for their English Milk Punch and it's excellent. Caution, this light refreshing cocktail will sneak up on you. I had the Kampachi Ceviche which was superb. The kimchi deviled eggs were good but probably wouldn't order them again. I fell in love with the Crab Risotto after the first bite. We had been looking forward to coming and were so disappointed. We got a call letting us know if everyone in our party of weren't there within 15 minutes of our time we'd lose our table. Fair enough, but if they take the time to call with such important information perhaps they should also say where their valet parking is as its in an alley before the restaurant and not clearly marked. We just made the 15 min cut off because of this. Next: we were a party of 6 and were seated at a table for 10-12 people. Had we been a walk-in party we would have understood, but we actually made our reservation six weeks prior. We were far away from each other and not able to have conversations. Our waiter was not helpful. I don't know how else to say it. Maybe it was that a couple of us had cocktails already and the rest aren't drinkers? It seemed to upset him somehow that we weren't ordering drinks. We said it was our first time and we were excited to try lots of things and sometimes at a great restaurant you can get a really great waiter that you quickly trust and he helps you order the best stuff. This guy seemed bothered by our need for help in sorting out portions and dishes...it's a place where you share and we wanted to have enough. Some of the dishes were hits, like really extraordinarily delicious: the pea salad, the fried green beans, the sole, the ceviche, some things were not: the crab risotto wasn't the right consistency and tasted fishy, the polenta was watery, more like a sauce and the agnolotti, which we said only two of us wanted to try, he got us 2 portions of (?) and not particularly delicious. The 24 oz steak would take 40 mins to cook so that came a good 20 mins after we finished everything else. But we had been there for close to 2 hours - could they have cooked that earlier? Another 20 mins later came the pizza which was good. Our waiter asked us ONCE how the food was and had busboys do the rest. We skipped dessert and went for ice cream. So disappointed.

It's a nice try at sophisticated dining DTLA but the food is too complicated, too many ingredients in one dish and it tends to be too salty. it's also 'family style' dishes at least at brunch, not sure about other times. Hi - I was very excited to know we were going to Faith & Flower. Unfortunately when I saw a tv screen at the bar I straight away knew what kind of place this would be, certainly not what I was expecting. \nWe had a drink at the bar which was rather nice, and I was very impressed with the fit-out and the level of detail and investment that has gone into this place from the owners. \nThe first thing we also did not appreciate, was the loud very over the top music that really ruined the atmosphere. I would have expected more tunes in line with the fit out and high level food that we received. I could not fault the service, it was excellent and food but it's just a shame about the music and tv screens at the bar that really let the place down.

Our server was amazingly knowledgeable about all the ingredients used and made some excellent recommendations. We had the Kimchi deviled eggs (5/5), the burrata pizza (4/5 - a tad on the saltier side), the oxtail agnolotti (5/5), and the Jerk chicken (5/5- but a little overpriced for what it is). We also had old-fashioneds and english milk punch- both very very good. Ended the meal with the straus panna cotta- what a flavor explosion!\n\nIt was our first anniversary dinner and it was very pleasant experience overall. The only downer to the experience was the bartender. When we first walked in, we had a few minutes till happy hour ended so we headed to the bar for some nibbles. The bartender was very dismissive and didn't care to smile or even look at us while talking. Off the bat he told us they were out of oysters, although there were clearly lots of oysters in the display upfront. Im guessing they serve a different kind of oysters at Happy hour. The only down side for us was noise - the decor makes you feel as if you are going to be able to have a real conversation with your dinner companion. This is my perennial compliant- why, oh why, oh why, oh why, oh WHY can't restaurants figure out how to design space and building materials to keep the noise level down? If you and your companion plan to spend the whole evening on your cell phones, then this will not an be important issue for you.

There was barely any room for all the plates, and the hot dishes were getting cold while we ate our appetizers. We had to stack the plates when we finished a dish, and the waiters kept passing the table without removing the empty dishes. We had to ask for them to clear the empties and had to request water and ice several times. The pea salad was bland and underdressed. The cavatelli was beyond al dente (almost uncooked). The sashimi was way overpriced for four wafer-thin slices at around $16. The cocktails were tiny. I don't know what's happened to one of my favorite restaurants. Faith & Flower is an intimate setting for a meal. And by that I mean that the tables are so close together you will be intimately familiar with the goings-on of the diners to either side of you. This is not the place for a private meal or a romantic dinner for couples. I understand that a downtown Los Angeles location is an expensive spot for a lease, but the cram-as-many-bodies-in-as we-can atmosphere hopefully solves that financial burden for the owners. Their tapas-like 'family style' serving leads to long dining times (which would be great if one could have a conversation) and the upselling on the part of the servers to suggest two plates per person (I'm a big eater and I would have been satisfied with 1.5 plates per person max) makes the atmosphere feel more like a money grab than a setting for an enjoyable culinary experience.

Food was delicious, but not 'over cheffed.' I think that's the selling point of F+F. \nService was great and everyone was lovely. Great ambiance.\n \nI just wanted a quiet evening to myself after a hard project that ended with a business trip. Finally back home in LA, I needed a good meal with no work. The dinner was solo, but would absolutely take a date I wanted to impress here.\n\nI started with the salad with snap peas and ricotta. What I loved about this salad was that the chef is clearly unafraid of letting the veggies speak for themselves. I think they choose good salad fixings from the beginning and add bits of flavor to bring the natural flavors out of the veggies rather than covering them with a heavy dressing and too much fan fare. It was fresh, tasty and a great way to begin a meal or end one.\n\nI also had the confit duck over white beans and mustard greens with pickled mustard seeds. Also delicious. The duck was crispy, but tender and smoky, flavorful without being gamey. The mustard greens were lightly vinegary and an amazing compliment to the duck. The sommelier came by prior to my order and I told him what I'd be having. He was brilliant in his recommends. He suggested both a red and a white. The white was a Riesling, but I'd just had that brightly flavored salad and wanted something bolder and less sweet. The red was a Barbera and stood up to the duck without overpowering it, and still contributing it's own fruit flavors. Not something I'd drink on it's own, but matched beautifully with the food and got better as the meal went on. Super impressed.\n\nEnded with the Hazelnut Chocolate Feuilletine. I expected more of a pastry, but it comes as dollops of a brulee'd marshmallow like cream and dollops of hazelnut cream on small wafers. Wasn't quite what I had in mind, but very good. I may order something else next time... or not. It may be that I was just taken off guard, here.\n\nCappuccino was perfect. \n\nDinner was about $115 with tip.

The food and atmosphere are always outstanding at Faith and Flower. The bar has a creative and exciting array of cocktails and a well curated wine list. One would hope however, that dining in a Gatsby-esque atmosphere would take better care in the actual service. Their outstanding dishes are generally family style, but if the customer is to order all at once, it is the server's responsibility to ensure that they are paced in fashion which allows the diner to actually enjoy them. \nOur plates were all rushed to our small table, and by the time we got through the excellent scallop risotto, the leg of duck confit was stone cold. After asking for a re-fire, we had to wait almost ten minutes for fresh plates after the second confit was brought out. At $105+ for what amounted to a light dinner for two, the complete disregard for pacing, and the absolute failure by management to amend the repeated mistakes made by our server, left us feeling a little insulted; both personally, and on behalf of the wonderful food so tragically underrepresented.

For the price point, you would expect a little more peace. Waitstaff was also a little sparse, while funny people, they didn't have great table manners. Everyone looked overworked and scattered- running around. again- the food and wine is at a very high level, so I hope these pieces can get up to speed. Wouldn't come back- sadly, just because it was too much to handle. Both the bar creations and the food were a significant step above good. The Manhattan made with Japanese whisky was a great modification to a classic. The food which followed was also remarkable. No one should leave with trying the oxtail agnolotti. Our server was also the perfect balance between engaging and not intrusive. He was happy to answer any questions, offered suggestions when needed but did not hover or ramble on about the food. Plan ahead for a reservation because they get full early!

Our reservations for party of 6 were at 12:30, and we arrived on time. I had requested a table for outside dining. I was told at the hostess table that our table was being set up, and we could wait at the bar. Meanwhile, I was eyeballing a table outside that was empty when we first arrived, and was still empty 10 minutes later. It did not need to be cleared, just sitting there empty. I saw no one setting that particular table and the others were all occupied, so it was pretty clear they had forgotten about us. So, I approached the hostess table again, this time speaking with another person. She told me to “wait” and then a minute later then promptly grabbed some menus, and led us outside, but to another table in the sun. This one had apparently just been cleared. I asked if we could have the empty table that was STILL empty, as it was more shaded. The hostess seemed very annoyed at my request, but accommodated it nonetheless. It continued to go downhill after this. It took forever to have a waiter come to our table; luckily we still had drinks from our wait at the bar (from our not so friendly bartender). So, we place our order and wait forever for our food. When it does finally arrive, my daughter gets two sunny side up eggs and that’s it! NOT what she ordered. She actually ordered an item on the menu “Sunny Side up Eggs”, but it definitely was supposed to be more than just two eggs I also was supposed to have a side of brioche toast, which did not arrive with my meal. Of course, it took forever to get the attention of our waiter to inform him of the mishap. Now everyone else has their food, and we all start eating. Again, it took forever for the correct order for my daughter to arrive, and after 4 times asking for my brioche, it finally came, but at that point I was done with my meal. It is really hard to find any good points about the whole experience. Only positive note of the day was the Eggs Benedict pizza. All other food items were meh.

I specifically called the restaurant in advance to let them know we were celebrating my son's birthday. Not to make a big deal about it, just put a candle in whatever dessert he orders. No problem, your server will be informed and will take care of it. Well, our server either was not informed or couldn't be bothered, so no candle or anything. Maybe she was stretched too thin, so it wouldn't be fair to blame her entirely, but we did seem to be neglected for long periods of time.

We went to F&F with a party of four. We had cocktails, wine and food. The food was really great. The milk punch was so good. The somm there was so much fun and we loved the 'decanter'. We enjoyed the wine we had so much that I just went and ordered a few bottles directly from the winery. Menu highlights were the oxtail pasta and the tempura green beans. I also loved the beet salad. Great meal and a great little restaurants for a Friday night dinner.

Although a beautiful space and interesting food selections, definitely high quality and full of flavor! My feedback lies more with their customer service, at times lack there of. We were originally sitted way in the back and when asked to move was given noticeable attitude. A table up, was scolded when turned off the glaring light... What couldn't be solved with a refreshing bottle of wine but for a restaurant with a sommelier their wine list was not only unimpressive but a good portion of the selections were 86'd. An ok evening, good flavor and company however I would not go back, unfortunately too many restaurants to go back to mediocre service.

This place is very nice and the service is great! I love the milk punch drink and their other drink selections that the bartender created. We dined both at the tables and afterwards, night caps over at the bar. Food was good, just on the heavy side of saltiness. I was bummed that the oxtail angnolotti was very salty. We also had the tartare & prime rib. I would definitely come back for the drinks and possibly to try something different on the menu too.

Went there for brunch at 1p, party of 3. Waited 15 minutes just to get our waters. Waited an hour for 2 skirt steaks (one medium rare, one well-done). Server abruptly placed the plates down and quickly walked away without saying which is which. Nothing special about the steaks. Waited another 45 minutes for the oxtail. The place was not even busy. Talked to the manager who was apologetic and took the oxtail off the bill and one round or drinks. Still the bill came to $150. Don't mind paying for exceptional food and service but this is not the case. And the manager's excuse was, 'everybody got seated at the same time.' REALLY? That's a crock!

we wanted to find a place for dinner with another couple in downtown LA that was good, not too loud and not too expensive. Something foodie but not a sort of $100+ per-person kind of event. This was a good fit! The food was on average great (some dishes were excellent, some were just 'good'). The only complaint is that our table was right by the door. As we were seated, we voiced concern over this. The hostess sort of blew off our concern and said it wouldn't be cold. She didn't offer us a different table, but we also didn't ask. And in the end, it WAS too cold at times, but not enough to complain or reach out to management. Just enough to take note that we should have come outright to ask about a different table in the beginning.

I have no qualms with the food and thought everything we ordered was very good. However, I think the stand outs of the evening were the dessert items we ordered. The Mignardise, a collection of individual sized chocolates, madelines, biscottis, passion fruit marshmallow, and lavender macaron was a great visual feast. I think it was a great dish to end the evening with since everyone was able to have a little of something and I appreciated the variety of options on the plate. We also ordered the Hazelnut Chocolate Feuille which was AMAZING! Get it, you won't regret it. Perfect balance of smoothness from the mousse and a little crunch from the streusel. Elegantly rich yet light. If you have some time to spare while in downtown, I would definitely pop in and just order off their dessert menu. Their food selection is great however, the desserts are what will keep me coming back.

We had a Saturday brunch reservation and were the first there, as we had a big day planned. Our server was perfect! We enjoyed this unique cuisine so much that we asked it we could come back for dinner. They 'worked us in'. We had planned a light dinner after the fabulous Eggs Benedict pizza we share for brunch. However, we ordered Fois Gras and the Dry aged rib-eye along with the incredible tempura green beans. In talking with the manager, she learned that we had a hard time choosing and would love to try the duck confit. That arrived along with all the other things we ordered! So much for a light dinner! However, Faith and Flower is worth another trip to LA...SOON!

Much too loud and noisy. Otherwise, fine, but not worth the fact that the dinner was totally unproductive because of the noise. The whole experience for my group (sarcastically) was 'how yet more can we ramp-up the LA city experience in terms of stress?' Cut the noise! I spent much of my dining, over a week, either in Denny's (at least we could have a decent conversation) or in my hotel 'suite', which we all agreed was the most quiet place in downtown LA. Why can't you provide noise suppression? It can't be *that* complicated, as Denny's does a wonderful job.

It was quite a delightful ambiance. From the decor to the attentive server. Only request, would be for the portions to be more generous. Out of three appetizers in between four people,it was only enough for a tiny bite. Right there and then, we realized we would have to order the whole menu a couple of times only to be satisfied.

Came here for our anniversary. A little loud for us oldies. Our server is very busy but friendly. The runners were very efficient in clearing out our plates and refilling our water. We ordered some cocktails- they were just ok. Our first dish was the beet salad. It had more hard lentil beans than beets. We enjoyed the scallops ceviche. The shellfish risotto was a little too heavy on the sauce. Ribeye not tender but sauce made up for it. Best part - pistachio lemon and panna cotta dessert. Compliments to the pastry chef!

(Also posted on Yelp)\n\nI brought a friend for a night out to celebrate her one year of cancer diagnosis and attending the Ellen show. It was truly an important evening and after repeated recommendations - I thought this would be the perfect night for her. The atmosphere is stunning, the food was fantastic, and the service was ok.\n\nWhat killed my entire experience was after paying the bill. We splurged on food, drinks and a generous tip. About 10 minutes after paying our bill we were approached by the hostess who told us that they were getting busy and needed our table so we could either leave or they could find us a spot at the bar.\n\nI could not believe how incredibly RUDE and humiliating it was to still have drinks in our glass and being asked to leave our table! Are you kidding me?! We then stood awkwardly at the front of the restaurant waiting to be re-seated before deciding to leave and grab drinks elsewhere.\n\nLuckily, my friend was understanding. I would never take the risk of bringing a client or business partner here and having this happen again. Ridiculous.

I heard great things about this place so I decided to go ahead and book for Valentine's dinner. Decor was nice. Pre fixe menu was the only option which was fine but none of the food stood out none was great nor even considered good that would want me to come back. The spritz was the highlight of the evening which was not even alcoholic. \r\n\r\nService... Was just as low as the quality of food. For a place like this I'd expect our plates and utensils to be changed after every course especially a pre fixe menu being offered with multiple courses. We did order a bottle of water but not once did anyone come by and fill up our glasses at anytime. \r\n\r\nAfter dining here for the first time with the experience I had... I would not come back.

I brought my husband here over the weekend because it was recently highlighted as a must-try restaurant online. It did not disappoint. The sommelier (did not confirm his name, but mentioned he was from Brooklyn) was fantastic and made a wonderful recommendation that complimented our Oxtail dish perfectly. The vegetable risotto was a wonderful stand-out among our other satisfying dishes. We had many different servers at our table delivering plates, drinks and replacing flatware, which some may see as a negative, but I never needed to 'find our server' or feel like I needed anything. Everything was anticipated, and I truly appreciated it because, while I'm sure it is not, it felt effortless. I recommend this restaurant for romantic dinner dates, business dinners or a night out with friends. The ambiance is wonderful and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Thank you for a deliciously wonderful evening with my husband, in which I could concentrate on him and our conversation instead of anything else.

On my recommendation, my boss took co-executives and a high powered client to your restaurant this past week. Showing up a half hour early, (their reservation for 5:30) the party checked in with the hostess and made their way to the bar for a pre-dinner cocktail. Closing out their tab at 5:40, the group made their way (all 10 feet of it) back to the hostess stand where they soon learned their table had been given up. Full knowing the party sat mere inches away, not a single employee at your establishment thought to meander over and alert my party that their table was, in fact, ready. Once seated, the group ordered multiple appetizers, in particular, the oysters. 40 minutes later (no exaggeration) the oysters arrived. The excuse for the delay was that the kitchen staff 'couldn't find them.' To cap it all off, one member of the party ordered the seabass as their main entree. After another painstaking delay, the server delivered a plate of trout. The staff didn't bother alerting my party the restaurant had run out of the seabass and made the substitution themselves without asking the patron whether that was an acceptable alternative. Needless to say, the group left most disappointed never to return again.

A colleague recommended F&F last year, but I opted for an eatery closer to our office for our Christmas gathering. However, when I received email this year from F&F and saw the pictures, I thought it looked as if the ambiance would be conducive to a special annual outing. I was most correct. Everyone in our party enjoyed the restaurant--food, service and more! One colleague already has plans to return with other friends and it hasn't been a week since our visit. The food was delicious and well presented, and everyone tried a different dish which included seafood, burgers, pork, and poultry. Service was a little slow, but it was lunch time at the holidays, so that was to be expected. Our server was really helpful with food selections and she seemed excited to have us there and about the menu. We sat near the oyster bar and I faced the street so we were in good light. Great recommendations (including the carrot juice-based cocktail) , consistent but not overbearing check-ins, lovely and personable. The rest of the staff was attentive and friendly. \n\nThe meal was excellent. Deviled egg appetizer was probably made for two but easy for me to devour. Creamy and spicy - yum! Vegetarian pasta dish coupled with a mountain of tempura green beans made for a perfect entree (and next day dinner). Both felt prepared in the most healthy way (no guilt) and the flavors were perfectly balanced. OMG the dessert. Stumptown coffee creme I can't even explain how good this is. \n\nGot the famed Star Wars chocolates to go. Will enjoy them on The Force Awakens night, but they are artful.\n\nThe other diners around me looked very happy, and the environment was very comfortable. \n\nValet is cheap and convenient. \n\nReasonably priced night. Worth every penny.

I'm not sure how they came upon this name but, whatever the reason, a diner should have no faith that their meal will be served as requested and certainly not promptly. After a great start, well seasoned Hamachi sashimi and a mixture of braised mushrooms, their was a lapse of nearly an hour before string beans ordered to come later in the meal were served to appease my friend and me. Some minutes later, a server brought a savory pasta with meat ragu that we had ordered to follow two fish and seafood dishes; we sent it back. Somewhat annoyed at the ineptness of the place, we canceled one course - it was over an hour since the first course and our appetites were dulled. Having finished the bottle of (white) wine we thought might pair well with our meal, we ordered a bottle of red for the return of the pasta. Both bottles, inexpertly recommended by the substitute sommelier, did not suit the menu. Upon receipt of the check, our complaint to the manager drew a modest 'manager's discount' of approximately 20%. How that number was derived, I'll never know. But it doesn't matter, I'll never return.

I had diner here previously and loved it but my most recent dinner here left me a bit disappointed and wishing I'd eaten at a different dtla locale. Our server disappeared for a good majority of our meal and about half of our time there was spent without drinks nor water, and we had to eventually flag down a busboy to get out water. We also ordered the green beans as a starter and they didn't arrive until long after the rest of our dishes, literally when we would be ordering desert. I also felt as if the portions here had decreased marginally since my last visit and the oxtail agnolotti I raved about prior fell flat this time. Also the music here is pretty deplorable, for a restaurant that seems so deeply invested in its decor and cuisine it seems a bit of an oversight to play some terrible pandora playlist that sounds fit for a low budget wedding dj.

I do not know what I like more about this place- the food or the ambiance. I have been to the restaurant twice, once for brunch and once for dinner. Both experiences were great but dinner was far superior due to the fact that it was a larger party and I was able to try so much more. \n\nThe oysters were so great that we ordered a second dozen. In addition, we ordered the cavatelli which was so perfectly tender and bursting with flavor. The fresh burrata pizza was a table favorite and done to perfection. The risotto was nice and creamy but not too heavy and the rib eye was to die for. The only thing I didn't go nuts for was the steak tartare but I was only able to have a small taste. We also enjoyed the green beans and deviled eggs. I mentioned I went in a big group, did I not? Always fun for sharing!\n\nWe were able to sit in the back dining room which is my favorite. The mirrors and the chandeliers create such a decadent and luxurious feeling as if I am in a palace and not some corner bar in DTLA. It truly transports you to a whole other state of mind. I just absolutely adore this place.

My party was three adults and 1 toddler. I knew full well this was not a kid friendly restaurant, however, they were most accommodating. They sat us at a booth (they didn't offer a booster or high chair so I assumed they didn't have them) but the staff was very happy to see us either way. \n\nWe ordered the oxtail pasta, burrata pizza, prawns and polenta, tempura green beans, yellowtail ceviche and the rib eye. And of course for dessert, the Star Wars chocolates (off menu). \n\nThe food was AMAZING. I also had a drink off their menu, I don't remember what it was called, but it tasted like Christmas. It was in the citrus section. If I HAD to nit pick, the pizza tasted a little burnt but some might call it crispy and the rib eye came out VERY rare (still mooing) but they took it back and cooked it a little bit more for us. I had to think very hard about that. The chocolate Star Wars plate was amazing but you definitely need three good eaters to get through it, it's a lot of chocolate and candy! All together, our bill was about $200 and worth every penny.\n\nThe staff was super attentive. The music was a little loud for my tastes, but with a toddler, I didn't mind (it drowned out her very loud talking). I even had some problems with the valet, they listened to me and fixed it! \n\nOverall, you can't go wrong with this place. The food is delicious and the staff and service were impeccable.

We arrived early for reservation and were told we couldn't be seated until the others arrived. The restaurant was only half-occupied. We were told we only had a limited amount of time at a table and couldn't sit down until all were there. We were instructed by wait staff that this was 'small Plates' and we should order 2-3 dishes per person and that whole order had to be put in at one time. No ordering some and then seeing if we needed more. When food arrived, plates were much larger than at many other 'small plate' restaurants and we had way too much food. Really felt pushed and would not come back. Food was pretty good. Melon salad is a winner.

First try the milk punch for something entirely different. Or the jalepeno cucumber margarita. All the cocktails are stellar.\n\nThe food is served 'family style' so everyone can try a little of each plate. Imaginative menu and excellent execution. In a word 'yummy.' Particularly liked the duck dishes. Cod was so-so. Pork was scrumptious. \n\nWe will recommend to everyone who visits the LA downtown area.

FOOD: Mediocre at best. This restaurant tries to be like Bestia, but fails miserably. We ordered two appetizers, the deviled eggs and the ceviche, both were good. The cavatelli pasta that we ordered felt like it was frozen food reheated. No taste whatsoever (I have eaten pasta in Italy so I know what i'm talking about). The pulled pork sandwich that I ordered was thick slices of deli style pork. Felt like something I would buy for 5 bucks from the food truck at work. We ended up skipping dessert and walking to Bottega Louie for some real food.\n\nSERVICE: The waiter was friendly, however, he didn't really explain the fact that the sandwich was deli style, instead built it up like it was something amazing, and it wasn't. \n\nAMBIANCE/etc: Great ambiance, the seating/tables and overall settings were great. The chesterfield long couch is pretty cool.\n\nPARKING: Valet or very-hard-to-find-street parking

I have been on OpenTable for a LONG time…as you can see from my reviews. It is VERY RARE for me to give a restaurant 5 out of 5 stars on everything. My family refers to me as “Jennifer the Impossible” as I have such high expectations. Faith & Flower deserves it! This restaurant is fantastic. From the charm of the vintage decor (my brother died for the hunter green leather chairs) to the food and wait staff, this place was fabulous. We had an 8:15pm reservation and were seated right on time. Do not be deceived, even though they say it is family/tapa style, the dishes are good portions, the 2-4 per person recommendation is right on. Our waiter, Zach, was great, a real 'dundermuffin'! We told him it was our first time, and he recommended both drinks and food options. The cocktails were fabulous! I am someone that usually sticks with wine and/or beer because bartenders can't mess that up - come on, it's LA! I decided to spice up this Tuesday night and try the Maison's Collins. It was FABULOUS! My brother went with the Harry Winston and was just as pleased. Then we put in our order: Summer squash salad, deviled jidori eggs, risotto, cavatelli, and ox tail agnolotti. Let me tell you, each of these dishes was so perfectly crafted. They each really created the perfect bite. I was hesitant to try the ox tail pasta as it is not something I normally eat – TRY IT! The bone marrow butter sauce is TO DIE FOR. Our waiter told us that some patrons complain the food is salty, we couldn’t disagree more. We thought everything was perfectly seasoned. (I will preface that with the fact that we do like salt in our food, it brings out the flavors!) When it came time for dessert, we were hesitant because nothing was immediately jumping out to us. We decided to go with the deconstructed s’more (I forget the name of it – and it was not clear it was a s’more because they are my FAVORITE and I would have totally wanted to order it from the get-go). It was delicious!

I am from Houston, Texas and was in town for a short visit with family. I actually signed up for a wine tasting session at Faith & Flowers (F&F) and then decided to do brunch afterwards at the same place. On Yelp, F&F had really positive reviews so I was really looking forward to the experience. F&F did not disappoint. The food was unique and absolutely delicious. The Oxtail Agnolotti was so flavorful and the Eggs Benedict pizza was very tasty. One of the drinks that our server recommended was the English Milk Punch. It looks nothing like milk, but was very refreshing. Interesting fact: The drink takes 3 days to make and was voted Cocktail of the Year by Esquire. Overall, the experience was wonderful and I would totally come back.

This is a perfect spot for a date night- and they are open on Tuesdays when most places are not! Great food, knowledgeable staff, and beautiful decor. \n\nAn observation: I found the music a bit at odds with the atmosphere of the place. Lots of old school Usher and R&B? I didn't mind but unexpected for sure. \n\nMy one complaint is the excessive amount of waitstaff. I would have hardly swallowed my last bite before my plates were being whisked away. Personally, if someone asks 'May I take your plate?' I will always say yes out of sheer habit, even if I wanted to enjoy the last bits of, say, the delicious bone marrow sauce in Faith & Flower agnolotti.\n\nOverall, this is a gorgeous and impressive place! The food at Faith & Flower was excellent, however we had a negative experience for 2 reasons. Firstly, we were seated at a lovely corner table next to a very bright lamp. We asked to turn off the lamp and were initially told this was fine by our waitress. Then someone else came over and told us the lamp needed to be kept on for 'aesthetic' reasons and if it bothered us we could move tables, which we did. This was obviously somewhat disruptive as we had already ordered. We were moved to the back of the restaurant and on two occasions during the meal, our server handed my friend her purse and indicated it had fallen off the back of her chair. We didn't think anything of this until the end of the meal when her credit card was missing. She was suspicious and called her credit card company and it turns out that while we were dining someone used her card to charge $3000 at the neighborhood Target. A police report has been filed but thus far, the restaurant has been minimally cooperative in assisting the investigation. It is clear that despite the excellent cuisine, management needs to be doing a better job with oversight of staff and public relations.

Went here and ordered from the DineLA menu. The price was already more expensive than the higher $25/35/45 tiers (at $50/person), we were expecting decent size portions for the Entrees. The Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin was very small, almost medallion-sized, was a bit disappointing. The Octopus 'A La Plancha' appetizer was a bit deceiving since we know 'A La Plancha' to mean more seared and crisp, but the octopus was not a la plancha. It seemed like it was just boiled, there were no signs that it was ever on the grill top. I can see that being a problem for people with texture issues since the octopus was wet and not seared dry like the name implies. The Fried Green Beans were delicious, the desserts were also delicious. Overall, food was great with the exception of small portions and the Octopus 'a La Plancha'.\n\nOur server was great, very knowledgeable and attentive, without being overly attentive. HOwever, the other wait staff were too eager to grab plates from the table. Reaching over and grabbing the plate before even asking if we were done.

My co-worker and I went to Faith & Flower during Restaurant Week and were not disappointed. \n\nFirst, the hostess was nice. We had a reservation for 5:45pm but we had gotten there earlier than expected. They were able to seat us early and we had a lovely table by the window so we could look out on to the street.\n\nSecond, the decor was lovely. Very green and sparkly.\n\nThird, the wait staff was on point. I have never had so many refills on iced tea!! And they were fast about picking up empty plates.\n\nFourth, the food was DIVINE. \n\nWe had the deviled eggs, the summer squash salad, the summer melon salad, and the calamari for the starters. All were delicious. My only complaint about the deviled eggs is that it didn't state anywhere on the menu that it would be sprinkled with sesame seeds, which if I had known, I would've asked to have that left off (as I am allergic). I spent a good 10 minutes trying to pick out every sesame seed from one egg so I could eat it. \n\nFor our main, I ordered the confit duck leg and my friend ordered the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin. The duck leg was moist and the skin was crispy. The bacon wrapped tenderloin was juicy and the bacon was nice and salty. The only complaint about the tenderloin was that it was too small. \n\nDessert for me was a bust but my friend really enjoyed hers. I wished there had been some other offering other than 2 dishes with fruit and 2 dishes with chocolate. \n\nOverall, the place was nice, the staff was courteous, and the food was great. I will definitely be going back to try their regular menu.

We were really excited to try Faith & Flower! It's one of the cool new spots in DTLA and it looked so chic inside. When we arrived we were seated very quickly and noticed it was really crowded with Sat morning brunchers. After we were seated, we waited almost 20 mins just to get water that I asked for when we first sat down. Our waiter didn't show up until at least 10 additional minutes, even after it was clear we knew what we were going to order. We ordered and the food took just as long to get to us. Our waited stopped by a couple of times to check on us, but we quickly learned to not ask for something because we wouldn't get it quickly! After being there over 2 hours, we had to flag someone down to bring us the check we had been waiting for for 10 minutes. The service was awfully slow! I wasn't sure what to expect since the reviews appeared mixed but we had a wonderful time and the food was delicious! There were 6 of us so we were able to try many of their dishes from the ceviche to the pea salad to the ox tail pasta to the branzino wrapped in seaweed to the large steak. The side salads of fennel and citrus and warm potato were also good. The branzino was enough to go back. Looking forward to the next time.

I'm completely enamored by the beautiful branding of Faith & Flower.. The logo, the details, the touches of gold, the warm color palates, the dichotomy of metal, feathers, and translucent fabric ...this care and detail carries through in the restaurant, the food, the cocktails, and in the incredible service. \n \nThis restaurant is a gem, in an ocean of cookie cuter waste. \nThe passion in the menu, the cocktails, and the service, was beautiful. Thank you for the experience, I'll be back to share it with others soon.

The two of us ordered 5 dishes and it was more than enough - actually could have done without the last one since we also each ordered a dessert. Tapas style, delicious dishes. I love the decor of the restaurant and the friendly service. Unfortunately, we were charged for an extra dessert, but didn't realize until we were home. I never understand how restaurants can mess up on that. Why would 2 people order 3 desserts? Oh well. Slightly deterred, but will still go there for the yummy food!

We liked the ambiance..giant chandeliers and simple decor. The cocktails were great. There were four of us and we had Pio Pico and the Milk Punch. We were glad we tried the touted Milk Punch yet it is very sweet. We preferred the Pio Pico as we like spicy cocktails. It was superb!!!\n\nThe food was very good yet nothing was remarkable. We tried the Jidori eggs, the Kampachi Ceviche, the gulf shrimp, the quail, the burrata pizza, the cavatelli, the agnolotti, the trout, and the hazelnut/marshmellow dessert.\n\nI would not order the gulf shrimp is was not what we expected. It was 4 shrimp in a remoulade sauce and very unremarkable.\n\nThe service was very good.\n\nI would recommend trying Faith and Flower yet I am not sure it would be a place I would go back to over and over for the food.

The service was great and the decor is beautiful. The food, however, was just ok. We had oysters from the raw bar and cocktails, which were excellent. The 2 dishes we ordered- Quail + Seabass, were mediocre at best. I was very excited to try this restaurant and I was disappointed. The dishes we ordered were very bland unfortunately. Maybe we just ordered the wrong items? I feel that everything on the menu should be stellar though. I probably wouldn't come back.

Finally made it to F&F. Problem was that the menu on line doesn't keep up with the restaurant. Hence, when planning a meal there, you may be disappointed. Having said that, the menu is what I would call: ALL OVER THE PLACE. I get that it is fresh, farm to table and all that, but common do we really have to reinvent Deviled Eggs. Meanwhile, the salad of arrugla and chicory was excellent. As well as the Egg Spaghetti with mushrooms, Kale and parm broth. YUM!

I had high expectations for Faith and Flower, based on everything I had heard about it. The ambience is nice, and the service is very friendly. Everyone was courteous and professional, from the hostess to the bartender to the waiters to the sommelier.\n\nThe cocktails were the highlight of the meal. They were great. Each one of us (party of 4) ordered something different and we all loved them. The wine list was extensive, and had some good items on it, in all price ranges. The oysters were fresh and the pink peppercorn sauce with them was really good.\n\nThe rest of the food, however, was not up to the hype. The warm roasted squash and peppers - the squash wasn't cooked enough, so it was tough to eat. The Kanpachi ceviche was good, but was literally 3 bites. The grilled broccolini was decently flavored, but a bit undercooked, so very, very crunchy. The Dungeness crab risotto was extremely fishy, smelling and tasting. The potatoes were okay, but nothing to write home about. Same for the rib eye.\n\nThe food, with a few exceptions, was all okay to decent. It wasn't anything special, especially for the price. I will probably end up back here at some point just due to the location, and happily get drinks at the bar.

The dishes I ordered were very different. I enjoyed the oxtail. It's very rich so a small portion is perfect. The broccolini is delicious, perhaps they could cut the vegetable a little more(sort of 'undelicate' to be eaten with fork and knife).\nI finished my meal with the chocolate pudding. A little too much whipped cream for me but I love the serving dish it came in.\nThank you to the chef for the complimentary pudding. I was told they wanted to offer something special for single ladies dining on their own.

I was excited to try Faith & Flower having heard good reviews from friends. I was a little saddened to know beforehand that the only menu available for Valentine's Day was a prix-fixe. The regular dinner menu seemed a lot more enticing. The cocktail amuse bouche was a nice touch. Some of the courses seemed a little too inventive such as the egg yoke which you had to eat out of an egg shell perched atop a bed of some kind of red/pink salt. My main entree - the lobster was cooked very well. However, the grapefruit that was added to the dish was a bit risque. I was left in the middle and could not decide whether I liked or disliked the dish. Also, be prepared for some 'NYC' style seating. The dining tables are very close to one another so you can hear every word your neighbor is uttering (try to snag one of their few banquette style booths for a more intimate feel).

finally got to try the English Milk Punch & Leap of Faith -- sucking the Absinthe gases were really silly and definitely made me feel like I was doing something naughty, it was silly but fun. The sea bass was not good but, everyone at the table loved it. Because every one uses bacon to make their food 'better' - get over it ; anything is better with salt and fat -- find another way. Other than that, I was very happy. There was a strange exchange with the manager at the end which made me not want to come back...that's unfortunate. Really nice downtown venue for a casual but not cheap dinner with friends. We had the Dine LA menu and chose the vegetarian options which were all quite good. The silken tofu mousse and fennel/citrus salad were excellent appetizers and the pasta dish was just great great. Portions looked to be on the small side but were plenty. The sommelier suggested a great Syrah and dessert was equally tasty. Service was deceptively polished and spot on both with the timing of the plates and suggestions. Heard about F&F a couple months ago and when I saw it was participating in Restaurant Week, I knew it was time to pay it a visit. Started off with some delicious ceviche served with potato chips and followed it up with fennel citrus salad that had some subtle yet amazing flavors. The ginger braised short rib is perfectly accompanied by garlic & crab rice. My favorite thing of the meal was the bacon broth they pour over the sea bass. The hazelnut dessert was a wonderful way to wrap things up.\nOh! I almost forgot about the English Milk Punch cocktail. I've never had anything like it. I can see why it's their signature drink.

It was really flawless. The place is really art deco shiny. Lots of glass, mirrors, and some potted palms and other plants. We ordered one Restaurant Week Prix Fixe and several other dishes off the menu -- which is actually a book with 11 chapters!! All told, we sampled: Fennel and Citrus Salad (really well put together, the pistachios and manchego made it sparkle!), the Poached Farm Egg (WHO knew eggs could taste so silken and buttery and sublime? If someone poached me an egg like this, I would eat breakfast every morning. Served over quinoa and assorted greens), Kanpachi Ceviche (the best I've ever had in my life! Ginger beer in the ceviche and served with homemade kettle chips? Yes, please!), Lamb Pierogies (UMMMM, so melty! Salty, savory, delicious caramelized onions, rich broth), Oxtail Agnolotti (WOW. So much WOW! Cannot be explained, I'm just glad we got it; no wonder it's the most popular on the menu!), Sauteed Blue Lake Green Beans (prob our least favorite, but that's not saying much. They were still way better than any green beans I have had in any 'strant; dark, salty, savory, crunchy.), and the Hazelnut Feuilletine for dessert (we wanted to lick the plate! Gorgeous and scrumptious.). My date had 2 English Milk Punches, and now he's obsessed. I had the Lemon & Thyme, which was good, but the Pompadour won my heart... The whole experience was divine. Our server, Benjamin, was delightful, and the whole staff was friendly, engaging, and solicitous. The setting is dreamy, shiny, and opulent. Faith & Flower was *us* to a tee.

We went here initially for DineLA but we opted out due to the options and ordered from the regular menu instead. \n\nWhat we ordered:\nEnglish Milk Punch-It's definitely unique and must try. We ordered a second round after falling in love with the first. Unfortunately, it may have been a bad batch. It wasn't as sweet/strong the second time around. \n\nDelicata Squash and Apple Salad-refreshing and light, nice mix of sweet and salty \n\nNY Steak Tartare-Good the first couple of bites but it started to have a 'fish like' taste to it..almost like tuna\n\nOxtail Agnolotti-pockets of happiness \n\nLamb Pierogi-gamey but good\n\nTheir main/apps were good but not enough to warrant a 2nd visit for the same items. Their happy hour is promising though so I would return for that. \n\nThe place itself is beautiful and has a great ambiance. The server was attentive.

We went during DineLA and were quite disappointed. The food is good, however, the service of 3 courses for 3 people took well over 2 hours. I didn't get the impression the place was overtaxed, as many tables were open (when we arrived). One of the entrees was not delivered with the other 2, and it took 5 minutes for the server to come back with any sort of explanation. The other two waited out of courtesy and the food they had waited for an hour had gotten cold. It then took 15 more minutes for the third person to get that final entree. This issue was not handled well by our server, nor was any accommodation made for such an egregious error. In fact, we rarely saw our server. We couldn't help but wonder if we had been blackballed as 'fixed pice' patrons, although our final bill was still a rather hefty $200. I know there are some behind the scenes issues going on with the restaurant that I chose not to worry about beforehand, but wonder if that is affecting the service. I won't return.

The interior design is very modern and is a great place to eat in downtown LA. The service is awesome. My friend ordered the cocktails and they were so delicious and beautiful at the same time. The bar scene also seems to be very upbeat and energetic. The music is a bit loud, but it make it fun for us to talk without worrying about talking too loud. It is loud enough that you need to raise your voice a little bit, but not so loud that you can't talk at all. I would say the 'noise' level makes this place more upbeat and alive, which is a good thing. The food is very good and well made, but it is a bit pricey. I think the taste is very good, but also very similar to other 5 stars restaurants. One was the citrus salad the other the arugula. For entrees I had the braised bacon, my friend had the steak. Both were very tasty and unexpected. The problem we had with Faith and Flower was the service. We were 3/4 of the way finished with the first salad before the second arrived. The same thing happened with the entree. It wasn't minute or two that they lagged but about a good 10 minutes. Do not ever conduct an important business meal at this restaurant unless you want to be belittled and made to look difficult in front of your business guests and associates.\n\n I do not expect to have the same amount of understated polish and attentiveness in Downtown LA as you get in the First Class cabin of American or at a Michelin Star restaurant, but I do expect that if you are spending $23 on a brunch entree in a more than 50% empty restaurant that the server will at least act somewhat happy to have your business.\n\nWhen the check came, she also engaged in a practice that my business guest later remarked was the height of rudeness and one of our pet peeves when dining out. She hovered over the host while we were signing the credit card slip and very obviously watching for how much of a tip we would leave. \n\nVery tacky.\n\nI used to love the food here when it was Town, but we always had a problem with the service. I don't know if it is the same ownership, but they need to pay attention and give a refresher course on how to serve in a friendly yet unobtrusive manner when dealing with a business crowd. We are there to have a good time and schmooze clients. If we find a place that acts like they know us and treats us like a VIP we wouldn't care if the food was crummy. We would still go there based on location and the fact that it allows us to get our business done.

Had dinner pre-symphony and was super pleased that Faith & Flower lived up to all the hype...will return for sure.

Good food, beautiful restaurant, valet on the alley which is key in that area. A tad loud. Want to sit in the front room if possible, better view of everything. Fishes and ceviche were great and I'm not a fish person.

The flavors blend well. Though some of the portions are small so consider ordering more and sharing. It has a great people scene. Excellent experience.

food was amazing... service was terrible. while I appreciate a long meal to relax and chat with friends the experience was poor as our food came out too sporadically. We ordered many small plates and it was 29 mins minimum between each dish. That said the food tasted phenomenal and everyone was very nice it just took forever to be the food out.
