Hospitality & grounds were wonderful.
I've stayed at the Santa Ynez Inn three years in a row for my anniversary. Every year, I'm even more impressed with the staff, service and food - breakfast in the morning, appetizers and dessert in the afternoon/evening. If you're looking for a quiet getaway, this is the place, as it has 20 rooms, a beautiful dining space and it's just minutes from local wineries and tasting rooms. Spa services are available, but I have yet to try them.
The bed was very comfortable and the staff is great. The hotel was great, but the town wasn't what I expected. This is a great place to go if you just want to go wine tasting, but there isn't anything to do after 9:00 pm except go to the casino.
This hotel was beautiful. The room we stayed in was stunning with a huge jacazzi tub. The hotel offered a daily wine tasting with hors d'oeuvres that far surpassed my expectations.I would definately recommend this hotel.
Great amenities and loved the complimentary perks!
The Inn is just fabulous in every way! It was a special birthday getaway and it did not disappoint! It it were a bit less expensive I'd come every month!
In room hot tub for two! Also free breakfast delivery to the room. Not a great view from our room. Also one of the window screens was broken.
Huge room, great, amenities, bathroom, staff. Payless rental car company is the worst ever. Dont do it!
The bed and breakfast feel. I love that is very romantic. I wish we could have stayed for more than 1 night. Our bedroom door would shake loudly when the air would go on and/or others would open their door next to us.
I have no clue why this inn would get less than 5 stars. This is the nicest most comforting elegant place I have stayed Ever. The hospitality is unbelievable. I travel for business and stay here monthly. Peaceful, elegant and posh. The beds are so comfortable you don't want to leave. The bathrooms with heated floors, whirlpool tubs and steam showers. Just incredible. Wine and cheese, gourmet breakfast. You will have a memory of a lifetime. Well worth the expense. Surrounded by wine country.
It was unique and charming Small Room but still fine
I was pleasantly surprised. The room was beautifully decorated, clean and fresh. Loved the English garden. The water in the faucet in the tub would not shut off, we told management about it and they hopefully fixed it...California can't afford to waste water.
The location was perfect. Not too far away but not in the center of town. The tile floor is not an inviting quality of a hotel room. The whole room needed to have the walls cleaned. They were very dirty.

We enjoyed the overall charm of the room and the gardens. Very nice. Loved the gas fireplace. The only bad thing was the location. Just a bit too far from the central hub for walking in the winter cold weather.
Absolutely wonderful. If not the best hotel that we have stayed in, a very close second! We were so amazed & pleased with the room & staff; that we are still talking about today! We will definitely stay there again when we stay overhight in Solvang! Not a thing!
Better than expected for star level. Beauitful location, reasonable price. Walking distance to anything you need. Room opened up to an English Rose Garden. i would stay here again.
Room was large and attractive The so called free breakfast was disappointing. Only cold cereal and Danishes. They ran out of food and drinks before time to stop serving.
The grounds are lush and comfortable. The room was more like a classy apartment than a motel room. Class everywhere. Enjoyed it all.

Quaint clean little motor court kinda place. Felt like a throwback to the 60's
Was within walking distance to shops and restaurants. No towels in the room when we arrived. The air conditioning had a mind of it's own at times and wouldn't work. Expected more for the price of the room but I'm sure it was a case of supply and demand
We had a wonderful experience. It is easy to drive by Los Alamos without realizing all that this sleeply community can offer. The exterior of the mansion can mislead you to believe that you are entering your great grandmothers home with white linen & lace about the entire establishment. This could not be further from the truth. The interior of the mansion has hidden away six fantasy rooms for adults & children to play. We stayed in the Gypsy Room, Jacamo & his wife Dolcynia sleeping in a cart in the wilderness. Equally as inpressive was the Priate Room where you were teleported into a seen from Priates of the Carribbean or Horatio Hornblower. Each room was more impressive than the next. Diane, the manager, was as accomodating as can be. Next time we are in the neighborhood, we'll make sure we simply don't drive by hidden treasure.
My wife and I lived in San Luis Obispo for several years and made frequent trips down to San Diego to visit family, so we ended up driving past Los Alamos countless times. Never did I expect to find such a charming place just off the 101. The Victorian Mansion exceeded all expectations. We stayed in the 50's room, but got to see some of the other rooms, too. Each one s lovingly and meticulously crafted to transport you someplace else. The manager was so incredibly kind and helpful, and pointed us in the direction of one of the best restaurants we've ever been to. All in all, this was an amazing experience. Absolutely well-worth the cost. We're actually planning on making this an annual destination.
Rod, the new owner of this unbelievable victorian mansion, has spared no expense in ensuring that your stay here will be a memorable one. The rooms are so unique. Impeccable attention to detail fun but not corny each room is a delight complete with sound effects and custom themed beds and very deep jacuzzis. You can actually sleep in a 1950's Cadillac car while watching a drive in movie in your room! Disneyland on steroids! It is a very romantic setting too. Do not miss this fun opportunity, a must stay at.
We were the first group to 'take-over' the hotel since it re-opened under new ownership. We stayed there 15 years ago- it's WAY better now. Each room has been redone top notch. The beds are VERY comfortable and the rooms extremely clean. Rob (new owner) was accomadating and freindly and let us enjoy ourselves fully throughtout the mansion. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a group getaway, that way you can enjoy all of the rooms. We stayed in the 50's room. The Cadillac bed is sooooo soft, we kicked back and watched a movie on the projecter screen with old drive-in speakers and all. Brings back fond memories of the old drive-in days. Very cool!!
The owner was wonderful. Our only disappointment was were thought we booked the French room but we didn't and were put in the 50's room. It was still wonderful, and as I said, the owner was wonderful. The 50's room was fantastic, however, it has a very small bathroom. I am 5'-11' and I had to stoop. The shower was also very small.
Learning about the history of the hotel and getting a tour of most of the other rooms. Very limited number of restaurants available in the vicinity.
