8.3 Excellent
Pros: Best feature is location: the hotel is directly in the stunning village of sos with all the little cobbed street and the hills. Ideal location to visit and wander in the medieval street as they were centuries ago. Fantastic view from the window. The cooking and breakfast are fantastic too!
Cons: Initial mixed up on the booking (I booked a room with an extra sofa but was given a standard double room with little space) but that was corrected nicely and promptly. And what matters is how people deal with issue when they arise, so all good at the end!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location and room
Cons: Restaurent not coordinating with hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent! Room was very clean and comfortable and had a beautiful view. Service was amazing and breakfast was a real local treat. Would definately recommend this little place!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Room have a superb and tasteful touch. When you see a copy of Hemmingway's the old man and the sea on the table you know that you are in the right place. Fantastic breakfast with selection of homemade cakes.
Cons: They sell wine, but since the receptionist/owner doesn't stay at the hotel, we couldn't properly make use of the common area
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely host!
Cons: Perfect as is
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything, we will certainly return here!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Owner welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast brilliant.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hostel is very individual and quirky. Hostess most welcoming but our lack of Spanish made communication basic. We liked homemade cake for breakfast. We would highly recommend it as a place to stay if you can cope with the steep climb and narrow streets that comprise the old Jewish quarter.
Cons: I did like the hotel's situation but it is in the old Jewish quarter which is very steep and no vehicle access so it's a steep climb. We parked in Via Hispania which was the nearest place - no problem when we stayed and no cost.

Pros: A great place to stay. Wonderful meeting the proprietors's daughter, Lally, who gave us useful advice on what to do in the region and dining tips for in town. She is friendly and open, and my wife and I enjoyed talking to her.
Cons: We hit the town on Sunday night, so several restaurants were closed.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The owner had this stone ruins renovated to a very high standard guest house, our room was clean. comfortable and was nicely decorated. Situated next to the Town hall in the old part of town close to restaurants and a village store.
Cons: The breakfast was disappointed, no jogurt or cerecal, only offered an apple and pear, two mini croissants filled with ham, toast, juice and coffee. Parking outside the city gate and walk for ten minutes to the hotel. There was no lift not easy with big luggage.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Unique quality product, everything of very high standard. Great breakfast
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Best of both worlds! This tastefully redone property retains Sos del Rey Católico's classic medieval character, yet amenity-wise is fully modern and looked brand new as of Sept 2019. We decided to spend the night in Sos del Rey Católico to break up the drive between San Sebastian and Barcelona. If you are looking for a place to stay in Sos del Rey Católico, I highly recommend this property. Also just a head's up, we had a fantastic dinner at the nearby (3-min walk) La Cocina del Principal. This is not a busy restaurant as nothing in this little, sleepy town is busy. But, everything my wife and I ordered was exquisitely prepared and made of super fresh ingredients by the Michelin schooled owner/chef.
Cons: Staff was somewhat standoffish. But this is understandable as they don't host many guests and hence interactions are few. Keep in mind this is a small property in the very small town of Sos del Rey Católico which off the path for most travellers.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: very clean, comfy bed, great shower room, wonderful little hotel in historical hilltop village renovated to very high standard retaining its original characteristics, cant comment on breakfast as we got away early
Cons: sound proofing could have been better, not much to do once you have walked around the village
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room, wonderful owner. Perfect location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully updated and modern amenities while retaining historic character and charm. The room was spacious, lovely, and so comfortable. We didn't want to leave! Breakfast was simple but good and hotel employees were all kind and helpful.
Cons: Everything was perfect and exceeded expectations.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: El Peiron is a beautifully furnished hotel in an extraordinary medieval village. we have been travelling in Spain for nearly a month and this hotel rates a 10+ on a scale of 10. you cant go wrong staying here!!! They also serve a fine balanced breakfast.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location, the people, the food and the wine
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Parking, which is on street, could be a little difficult with a big car..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Small town. Very local. Able to drive into church courtyard for luggage drop off and owner came down to assist us with bags - up to hotel and up to floor we were staying in. Parking was @ 200m away but seemed fine. Lovely little bar down in front of church. Not a lot of choices for spots to eat or drink - but was perfectly fine. Hotel was lovely and we were well cared for. Rooms were clean. We had top floor and mezzanine for sleeping which was lovely. Not all have the mezzanine option though if that’s a problem for you. Onsite dinner was great. Quaint, attentive, lovely wine options, well priced. Home cooking with great quality ingredients. They are a family that have been there for generations and doing themselves and the town proud. Went for a walk around the town in the morning - history of the area is rather interesting.
Cons: Nothing. Exceeded expectations.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Our host spoke very good English and was helpful with advice of where we wanted to go. Breakfast and the Saturday night evening meal were very enjoyable.
Cons: Nothing

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Unfortunately nothing
Cons: Over priced for very basic rooms and non existant service. We had a so called de lux room which reminded of a monk’s cell. Waterpipes were sounding very loud, if someone went to the toilet or showered it was as if it happened next to your bed. You could also hear every word from the neighboring rooms. The staff is extremely rigid and unfriendly. In the village there is only one cafe/bar. Nearest restaurant is 9 km’s away.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfast, juice, tomato bread and tea/coffee for 4€

Pros: Beautiful old Villa in a very quiet small town. Owner very helpful and the food was excellent.
Cons: Not easy to find and the roads around are not the best, but that adds to the experience.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Jose the manager was fabulous! He ensured that our every need was met, even as he cooked the meals, waited on the tables and ran the bar.
Cons: A little hard to find, even with a GPS, as it seems that the hotel is in Los Pintanos, rather than Pintano.

Pros: Great place. Food and drink were very good. The staff were very helpful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Lovely food and drink. Staff couldn't do enough to help make the stay even better
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A fabulous experience as this tiny village is a step back in time. The hotel proprietor does everything, including cooking and bartending with great efficiency. Rooms are very good.
Cons: Be prepared to navigate your way through a mountain top village over 1000 years old, but well worth it.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Receptionist was very helpful upon arrival, ensure we were happy with everything. Location and we had Dinner and breakfast at the Hotel.
6.7 Good
Pros: Lovely building and location
Cons: It looked as if they were short staffed. No one to show us to our room, only one member behind the bar and trying also to serve the terrace. Restaurant staff in short supply . Not really the service level we have come to expect from this level of hotel and price range.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Paradore hotels are normally very good - this one was very good We had the evening meal in the hotel which was enjoyable but a bit pricey
Cons: Only negative point is that there were a lot of flies in room. No sooner had we killed some then some more suddenly appeared. I appreciate the hotel is in Spain and flies can be a nuisance but I found this to be a bit excessive!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent and good value, price choice of Continental (€9) or Full (17) Room was good size & comfortable beds Good country location Dinner was good but could vary depend on what is chosen, Marinated Salmon starter was a very good portion & excellent value at €12.50, Duck Confit leg was small & looked lonely in some type of 'firm' Moroccan sauce which was fairly flavour-less at €18. Chips could have been suggested to bulk it up? Good wine choice
Cons: Nothing really (note dinner comment) One bizarre point I would make, not a complaint but an observation for the hotel. The toaster was a revolving semi-hot metal plate that only 'toasts' for half a revolution (the overhead grill only covers half the plate) and it takes ages and typical of so many hotels only one machine
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely parador in country location Breakfast was good Room was good
Cons: Dinner was a little rushed could do with a bit longer to consider the options
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a great find in a very interesting town which dates back to 250bc. The hotel was well worth the extra Money for the added luxury, plenty to choose from at breakfast and the set dinner isn’t for the faint hearted, luckily we hadn’t eaten all day so we managed most of the three starters plus a main course of a whole leg of baby lamb each and the homemade ice cream for dessert! We had to give the Coffee a miss though for fear of bursting.
Cons: There was nothing not to like we had a fabulous stay here.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Stunning location. All rooms have views of the ancient town.
Cons: WiFi connection slow and not available in the room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A lovely couple, J Miguel Lapieza and his wife Canueu Alistise. Made us really welcome. Didn't speak any English, but that didn't stop her telling us all about the town, the meal and anything else we needed to know. Really really helpful. Lovely views of the medieval town, and we were given a table so we could appreciate the view.
Cons: The garage. Not really suitable for a touring motorcycle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The people were so welcoming and friendly ... nothing was too much trouble. They made recommendations for the things I should try to see. I have already recommended the hotel to several friends who are likely to be in the area ... without a doubt, the very best place I have stayed during my 3 week journey. I loved it.
Cons: Nothing. There wasn't anything.to dislike.

Pros: Excellent property, in a very unique area
Cons: Nothing
6.7 Good
Pros: Location was excellent, just a few hundred yards from Sos's centre. Lovely view from the bedroom.
Cons: We stayed out of season (just!) and there appeared to be no breakfast facilities at the hotel, indeed there didn't appear to be a restaurant. When we asked staff they beckoned down the road so may be there's a shared facility?
6.0 Good
Pros: Modern, clean, comfortable; a few blocks from the old town. Nice views of the surrounding hills (but not of town, alas). Very friendly and helpful young woman at the desk (who was only there periodically, since she had duties at the hotel's bar/restaurant 2 blocks away).
Cons: Free en suite Wi-Fi didn't work (but it 'sort of' worked in the lobby); couldn't figure out how to work the AC for the life of me.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location in the square and extremely welcoming and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the classical music and all the historical info provided
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing in the main square of one of the oldest and remote places I have seen. Room was on third floor above a tavern type bar. Staff took up bags fortunately. Must have been 60+ stairs. Had to park on outskirts and walk to Hostal. Was then accompanied back to car and guided to underground private park nearby. Staff took bags. Excellent service. Lovely room and good bed. Really good Tapas and Rationes.
Cons: All good really - but those stairs!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Sos is a wonderful town, and this hostal is right on the main square, next too the town hall. The bar and restaurant attached to the property seem to be one of the main social hubs of the town. The guy who runs the place is extremely helpful and friendly - he really went out of his way to help with parking. Breakfast is good, and the room is very pleasant, with a nice view from the little balcony.
Cons: My only comment is that air conditioning was mentioned in the list of things that the room was supposed to have. But there was no aircon. There was a good fan however, and the room cooled quickly at night.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostel was very clean and the food was great. I wasn’t here during peak vacation season, but it was a steal for the price I paid.
5.0 Okay
Cons: I could feel they didn’t want me in there place, and for no reason. I was alone in there, no sheets offered, no towell, no kitchen to cook, they only asked me if I had a meal to warm up. Even then I was all by myself and they were doing things in the kitchen and the living room, they didn’t talk to me at all. The lady was exaspereted as she was looking at her computer to find my booking online. I guess they are more welcoming with Spanish people... I will not go back there !

6.0 Good
Pros: Fabulous location, efficient and friendly reception in hotel. Small charge for entry to church and crypt ( key from visitor centre). Room a good size and plenty of storage with comfortable bed. Good self serve breakfast ( cake, pastry, cheese, hams etc), lots of choice. ok coffee and plenty of tea options. You can join in services in the church if you wish and hear the monks sing.
Cons: Evening meal in hotel restaurant was disappointing, very amateurish service and very basic food which could have been cooked better. I know we are in a monastry but if you offer something make it enjoyable to eat! Basic food is fine if its cooked well. Bathroom in room has last guests hair on the floor ( we dont have long black hair!) so cleaning needs to be checked.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: beautiful building lovely quiet location
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a unique experience to stay in a functioning monastery. It was fascinating to attend marines and experience the monks gregorian chants. The building is stunning, perched ( as they seem to be) high in the cliffs. The restaurant was excellent and staff very helpful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful isolated location with stunning views. Spectacular building. Room very comfortable and clean. Evening meal great value ( € 18.50 for 3 courses and a bottle of wine) . Breakfast was fine, no cooked option but plenty of choice- good quality. Not much to do so won’t suit all but a working monastery which is well visited. The church is worth a visit and one can attend services - recommended, even for non believers as there is a real sense of history.
Cons: Nothing

Cons: Zero.
6.3 Good
Pros: Fantastic setting with wonderful views Opportunity to hear the Monks Gregorian chanting Reception staff were friendly and helpful
Cons: Rooms were basic and lacked charm Evening meal was indifferent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel itself was ok, had everything I needed. Dinner was ok. Breakfast was ok (superb croissants tho). Great thing about that place is it's distinct location overlooking embalse de yesa (reservoir that was half dry at september) and active church with live chants 5 times a day you can visit and enjoy (for free). No air conditioner, take that in mind if you choose visit the place at summertime.
Cons: None for the price
8.8 Excellent
Pros: For a two star it was great
Cons: Awful pillows, bring your own. Bar closes at 19.00
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We stayed 2 nights at this accommodation and really were moved by the Gregorian chanting. The rooms are simple, clean and a nice place to stay.
Cons: It would be nice if the hotel guests had the privelege of seeing the crypts and church, and not pay an extra fee for this.
6.3 Good
Cons: The bunk bed mattress (bottom bunk) was terrible. I have never paid money for such a horrible sleepless night. That needs to be replaced! Plus, no kitchen towels.
