Comfortable room with lovely view over the countryside. Good pool. Close to the centre of this lovely unspoilt town It was noisy: firstly there were lots of very noisy intrusive children in the pool, hogging both the pool and the sun beds - it was a first communion lunch I believe and they were playing unsupervised while the parents were indoors. Secondly at night there was a lot of noise (all night) both from departing wedding guests and motor bikes unconnected with the hotel - could not recommend using the hotel on a Saturday night in June
Situation in relation to the old part of Carmona. The rooms were claen and well kept if a little small for a four star hotel. Our evening meal in the restaurant was dreadful. The food was horrible and the service very poor. We didn't chance breakfast, but ate in a local cafe - much nicer.
The town, parking was easy, breakfast was ok, Not great, too expensive for what it is.
Reception staff were friendly and very helpful. Good bar and restaurant attached to the hotel so did not have to travel far in the evenings. Standard room was very spacious.
The hotels situation is fantastic, the pool was beautiful, the town is as historic as you are likely to find. Ants!! We were moved from one room because of them. And woke up in the morning to find them all over the bed in the new room!! They also managed to get into our luggage. Shame because its a lovely hotel.
The rooms are spacious, attractive and have terrific bathrooms.
atmosphere - comfort - quietness
The style of the hotel is traditional Spanish and this is pleasantly consistent throughout including the booked rooms/suites.
Lovely location and pool good parking excellent tapas bar and staff Room was noisy due to bins being collected early in the morning
Very helpful staff. Wonderful tapas bar attached to hotel - we arrived late and they were still serving at 2330. Lovely rooms and pool. Good location for Seville and airport (rel short drive). Would have liked to have stayed longer and explored region. Got a little lost trying to find hotel. Streets narrow and difficult to find bearings (may have just been my poor navigation!). Recommend taking a good street plan of the town before you go!
this is not 5 star hotel but old historical country house in a village - quirky and lots of character - no bar - restuarant closed or no guests using it! - nonetheless we liked it! - had a junior suite for 4 days for €600 euro - carmona itself is a nice quiet village/towm 30 mins from seville - we had a problem with hot water in our room but we were changed to a nicer room once we told the staff see above! - the place seemed empty other than us and maybe 1or 2 other guests - probably would not go back again however
We liked the owners warmth and helpfulness. The setting is beautiful if a little worn, Old world elegance. The dinner cooked by the owner himself was very good. We were disappointed that they charged for an early morning cup of coffee.
The location. The hotel was clearly a magnificent building a very long time ago but is no longer maintained & not fit to be run as a hotel. Our room was dark & dusty with room service prices still listed in pesetas. The breakfast dining area & so called swimming pool were in appalling condition & no menu was presented to us on the one occasion we had breakfast. Overall a real disappointment only redeemed by the fact that we had good company & Carmona is simply beautiful.
the hotel has a very special atmosphere. The rooms are decorated in a very nice way. the staff is friendly. I left my mobile phone in the hotel on the bed when we checked out but it was not found. I have only one conclusion: the roommaids know about it but say nothing and the staff believes them ...........
Casa Carmona is a beautiful 16th century palacio full of wonderful furniture and pictures. The service was discreet and the food and wine outstanding. The atmosphere exactly matched our aspirations. We had a wonderful relaxing few days exploring cities and countryside in Andalucia.
Most of the staff did not speak any English , though all were very friendly and did whatever they can to help , this hotel is a piece of treasured history built in 1561 , you get first hand experience of living during the aristocratic times The fact that most did not speak any English
Extremely comfortable. Quiet and relaxing . Good restaurant. Polite staff. Trouble obtaining hot water. Staff appeared stretched at all times.
Attractive historic building, good spacious rooms and five of minutes walk to the main square. Additional services expensive 18 euro/hour to use internet. Take a small car the streets are very narrow and not well signposted.
This hotel had better days, it is now very neglected. There was a lot of mildew in our room, broken shower and shower curtain, and a very dirty carpet. The pool was practically abandoned and not usable.
We were very satisfied with the hotel and the location. We visited Seville which was very easily reached from this hotel.
This Parador is just wonderful.... the views are incredible and the hotel just about perfect... It is a little confusing following all the signs getting there, but we made it!! No
We like town of Carmona Some things to mention that are disappointing in a 4 star hotel : only twin beds, expensive price and very limited choices of food and drink at Swimming Pool, Staff was a bit cold and disinterested, There is a lot of pigeons around the hotel (terrace)
I thought this a very nice hotel. I particularly liked the building. And the swimming pool was great at the end of hot day of sightseeing.
It's historic building, wonderful views across the Andalucian plains good room, not enough time there to enjoy it however Not enough bar and dining staff - they are worked too hard
It was more out of the way than expected and an expensive taxi ride from Sevilla. You definitely need your own car at this hotel to get around (we did not have one).
Lovely setting, comfortable room, helpful staff, amazing (big) swimming pool. No kettle in room, but staff happy to provide hot water on request.
Amazing location ! Beautifully renovated historic building (Alcazar) with a nice garden and large pool ( including separate children's pool). Do check out the view from the roof terrace. Very friendly staff. Good beds. The buffet breakfast is expensive but worth the money. the stairs down to the pool are quite steep so not suitable for the disabled or young children. Also no family rooms available. If you have more than 2 children you need to book an extra room.
The building and setting were fine, memorable. Nothing.
The staff were fantastic. The location is very good. Carmona is an excellent location for a short visit. Its smoking policy
We liked the way the hotel is decorated and the building itself, courtyards etc. Excellent position in the old part of the town. The hotel is tucked away and easy to miss, we drove past the first time. Maybe a sign could be placed at the entrance to the pathway.
It had loads of character, and our room was very cozy. The common areas with patios and fountains added to the charm. A bit cold in winter, but our room was very toasty with it´s own heater. A television mounted on the wall also had a video tape player. Relaxing classical music is playing in the halls and breakfast room. Very tranquil. The shower curtain was not water tight and I proceeded to flood our bathroom floor. Choices at breakfast were limited. They could have offered more.
Location and interesting Hotel Parking is available, but some distance from Hotel.
Very central location in the old part of Carmona. We enjoyed staying at a more traditional Spanish style hotel. We had a map that did not show the one way system of the streets, or how narrow some were, which made it difficult arriving by car!
Situation in the heart of Carmona, a historic and attractive town.Building has much character and charm. Access difficult for a car. Inadequate heating and lighting: 40watt bulbs! (Preseason week-night.)
Friendly staff. Well situated in the old town. Nice spanish style. Breakfast was not good.
Located centrally in Carmona - walking distance to square etc; room well appointed with good air con (necessary in summer). Nice touch, a/c was on when we arrived. "Oldy-world" & quiet relaxing ambience. It was off season (july), so breakfast included in price was limited. Suggest a sign for the hotel at end of the narrow approach alleyway.
The hotel was a gem! The town wonderful, staff outstanding, and the room unique, I have no negative feedback! I WILL stay there again!! nothing
the hotel was very quant and quirkey we had a pleasant one night stay
The location is great, right in the middle of historic Carmona, the style gives the feeling of luxury and charming little andalucian courtyards encourage you to slow down and relax. The recommended by the hotel restaurant La Yedra is a real gem. The rooms are quite small and rather basic, the bizarre design of the open top bathrooms lacks privacy, only shampoo was supplied and no soap, there was no hair dryer and only one chair in a double room. Under closer look you can see the signs of decay, bubbling paint and a strong smell of damp.
I enjoyed the nice room and the quiet atmosphere. The staff were friendly and the room was cleaned well.
Our original room was for 2 persons only. We needed 3. the second room had a loft which was extremely hot. The 3rd room was excellent. The staff was very cordial during my situation.
Lovely, converted historic mansion bang in the centre of Carmona. Parking may be a bit hard to find within the fortified, walled town of Carmona, however we were lucky to find in the square where the hotel is situated. Be aware of the narrow streets leading to the hotel.
Ancient, well modernised building with heaps of character. Well located in Central Plaza. Our group used 3 rooms and none of them had a securely fitted shower connection!
beautifully restored building, friendly staff, clean and comfortable, right in the center of town with restaurants, sights etc. in easy walking distance on a busy square, which means you have to park further away and it can be a bit noisy in the evenings
I found the room was comfortable, clean and the decor was appropriate. and almost all the staff were approachable and pleasently helpful. It is in the best location if you wish to see and explore carmona by foot. Is in easy walking distant to public transport for sevilla, and don't worry about breakfast there are plenty of cafe's near by. Maybe not the best pace to stay if you have a car but for me it was perfect. Oh they may lock the door to the hotel at around 12p.m. but just ring the bell ( looks like a light switch ) and you will be let in.
The staff were all helpful, although their English was not always fluent. The 2 rooms (suite and single) were well presented. Breakfast in the bar across the square was good and the service great. Being in the square meant you were in the thick of local life. Great value for money The suite shower room smelly on arrival, but dispersed after running some water. Possibly due to lack of recent use. Parking anywhere in Cormona is not easy, but possible and there is an underground carpark (not free) a short walk from the hotel.
excellent style, decor, situation, views with delightful secluded roof terrace right at historic centre ofCarmona no
Functional and comfortable, although no balcony there is a nice roof terrace which is excellent for catching the sun. Staff were freindly and helpful and the chambermaids kept the room very clean and tidy. Close to many bars and restaurants it was ideally placed. Carmona itself is a very pleasant town and Seville is in easy reach. You can also catch a bus from Carmona direct to Cordoba. The front door is locked at 11pm each night and you are not given a key for it. No one told us the door would be locked or that there was a bell to ring. We had to bang on door and window to get the night porter's attention the first night we came in after 11pm. The porter himself was a bit grumpy - even rude - looking at his watch as we came back at 11.30pm on more than one ocassion. The doorbell looks like a light switch and does not say bell on it.
Excellent location to explore the center of this small & charming town. Staff at the hotel were all helpful. Hotel has lots of character, and the room was clean and comfortable.
The hotel is in a beautiful building and we had a lovely groundfloor room with a sitting area and a small patio. The large bathroom was also excellent. There is a problem with access. The hotel is on a track about one kilometre from the road which is very rutted and pot-holed apparently due to the neighbours tractor. For our particular needs we also find the beds a little firm and take a night or two to get used to.
friendly personal who speak good English the track leading to the hotel is really bumpy and will get your car muddy; our room was not really clean but more with a layer of dust in the room as well as on the bathroom interiors (after using the bath tub, a layer of dirt came off); our room smelled very strongly of some lacquer or colour that also krept in all of our clothes and did not get less strong over the days we stayed there; in addition, the heating was very poor and we were freezing in our room since the weather was exceptionally cold during our stay; the hotel does not deliver what you expect from 4 star hotel (bumpy mud track, room interior is partly IKEA, hole in the wall covered up by a wardrobe, small TV with antenna and only Spanish channels, meager breakfast etc.)
There is a big swimming pool, great! It's situated rural and thereby quite, but close to Sevilla. An ideal place to stay to visit the city. We got the room in the tower, very spacious and nice furniture.
It is a quirky hotel, very secluded and peaceful. The meals we had there were good and the staff were friendly & helpful. The hotel is a little difficult to find - there is a sign on the roadside but it could be more noticable. The bed was not the most comfortable and the air con is very noisy.
Excellently furnished room. Lovely, and helpful Maribel. Good dinners. The track to the Hotel is in poor condition. It is not convenient as a centre for Serville, but is excellent for a "Country Break"
The interior decor was charming, nice to have a large swimming pool and good food offered. Internet available in the social area. Good English spoken. The access road is unmade and has been damaged by the recent heavy rains, but don't be put off, the hotel is worth the effort.
The way breakfast is organised is nice and in such a beautiful setting (inside for us). The courtyard of the hotel is unique and has history. It was also really calm with no modern life noise to be heard. The garden of the hotel and the pool are un-inviting in my mind. The garden needs to mature a few more years before it gets interesting. We think the noise insulation of the rooms can be a problem if the courtyard was to be animated. People chatting at night in the patio can be heard from the adjacent rooms. Thanks for us, only a few guests and they didn't chat for long.
We stayed at the Hotel in November, out of season, and found that the care and attention of the staff was first rate. The hotel was not easy to find and did not seem attractive from the outside, but do not be deceived; you walk through the courtyard into the hotel and enter a completely different world to that outside. The care and attention to detail in the rooms is replicated in the other facilties at the Hacienda. The evening meal was pricey for Spain but worth every penny. We shall be returning to this excellent hotel. Nothing
I liked the beauty and elegance of the property. The proprietor was very warm and friendly and eager to show us around. The food was excellent and the hotel was very quiet and comfortable. It was dificult to find and to get to as the road in was very bad.
Nice countryside. A lot of charm inside. Need some mantanice in the surrondings. Pool not keept.
close to the airport/highway and yet very silent , clean rooms no restaurants in direct vicinity
Close to location of my interest. Bed too small - outmoded and not comfortable.
The hotel has ample parking, providing a base for tourism in Seville, where parking is difficult and costly. It is also convenient for the airport. It is a few yards from a fine restaurant. Although it is right beside the highway, there was no traffic noise in the room or in public areas of the hotel. No complaints
