Our experience overall was great...but I don't feel it was anything over the top for the type of property that it is and rate that we paid per night. The location was good...and many of the staff members were very hospitable and kind.. James in in-house reservations was wonderful, as I called to reconfirm our reservation, note our preferences and that it was Anniversary and he blocked us accordingly. Evan and Amanda were truly welcoming at check-in. Colin our Bellman/Valet was very personable and always gave great recommendations. Shamaya in housekeeping was so very friendly and welcoming...always offering us chocolates which was a sweet touch!! There are a few items that we didn't truly enjoy during our stay... I called in and noted it was our Anniversary during our stay and honestly expected some type of acknowledgement during our time there...and there was nothing. In past stays at luxury properties they have at the least mentioned it during check-in...and then at times upgraded us or even sent a little something with a card up to the room. I felt this was a missed opportunity to WOW!!! The mattresses are definitely an item that should be replaced...as they seemed older and were quite uncomfortable. We opted to reserve a room on the Club Floor to take advantage of inclusions...which we had higher expectations for the Club Lounge. As both food offerings for both "happy hour" and breakfast were very repetitive and seemed "cheap"/low-quality. With staying at a luxury property that boasts a talented culinary team we expected higher quality and more variety.
Gorgeous and historical!
Our stay at the Brown Hotel was exceptional. Great location to all attractions and site seeing. The hotel was very nice, clean, and spacious. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall we were very pleased with our stay at the Brown. Our only dislike may not be a problem with others. The bed was too soft. We are use to a more firm mattress. Didn't sleep well and woke up with a backache. The bed was just too plush us.

Room was poorly appointed for the cost. No fan in the bathrooms. Doors are lightweight and thin, as are the walls. Room size was rather small. There is a Hampton Inn nearby that offers a much better value for a lower price point. That will be our go-to spot for future trips to Louisville.
Staff is nice and does its best to be helpful Hotel is badly in need of a refresh. My room was tired, carpet had stains. Quality is really variable.
The staff was superb. Service was impeccable. The facilities were very clean. The beds were comfortable. We enjoyed every aspect of the Brown Hotel. A hot brown for breakfast at the J. Graham's Cafe was the perfect ending to our stay. Loved it! The only thing that I did not like was the fact that we could not go into the clubhouse because we were not a member.
Beautiful atmosphere, excellent staff. The ac in our room was not effective and the room was very hot. There was a large group of high school students who were very loud and took over the lobby at one point. I would think that booking large groups of children would not be common place in this hotel as it appeals mainly to adults and the noise from kids works against the atmosphere.
Wonderful lobby bar and a beautiful old grand hotel. My new go to for Louisville Only had an issue with one server but I feel I only noticed it because the rest of the service was so fabulous

The basic room appeared recently renovated and was borderline luxurious, depending on your definition of luxury. Definitely highly comfortable. High-end bathroom, bed and bedding were marvelous, the robe is a welcome touch. Stayed Fri-Sun, there was a lot going on in and around the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised at how the noises disappeared once my room door closed. The complimentary Wifi was more than sufficient for my needs without having to upgrade, and was trouble-free. Nice to see a hotel that's recognized by 2016 that a couple of USB charging ports on the nightstand might be handy; I didn't have to take my wall charger out of my bag. There's a room safe big enough for a 13" laptop (but not a 15") and the safe has a 110V outlet inside the door, nice. Huge flatscreen with great sound. Room keys are chips, not mag swipe, so you can unlock the door without taking the key out of your wallet. The elevator might leave your stomach in the lobby when you're going up ;) Parking was advertised at $13 but ended up being only $10; there's no integration with the room key though so you have to keep up with your ticket. This hotel is connected to the Louie Link enclosed walkway that runs from Galt House and KFC Yum Center at the north to Fourth St Live at the south. And the staff is great! Highly recommended. Whirpool was unbelievably dirty, ypi cpuld scrape the dirt off the tiles, water was brown n smelled horribly warer was also warm not proper hot tub temperature, swimming pool floor was filthy as well, very disappointed and dissatisfied especially for the money I paid.
Overall our stay was good. The room and hotel were very clean and the beds comfortable. The location would have been great for going out (which is why we selected it) had we had the time, but didn't work this time around for us. The only downside for this hotel is the shower. My husband had a difficult time since he he is over 6 feet tall and the shower head was for people closer to 5 1/2 feet or shorter. The pressure was also barely there and quite noisy from I think trying to get the pressure.
The location is good. The room was dirty and we couldn't get them to come clean it. They said they were busy. The maid would knock very early then we asked her to come back later and she never did. The manager was very rude when we asked about the cleanliness. There wasn't enough hot water at all. It was very disappointing especially considering the price for our two dad there.

The staff is great. The historic nature of the hotel is impressive. Location is central and steps from restaurants and entertainment. Bed was comfortable. The room and bathroom were small. Furniture was basic hotel-grade as were the linens and towels. Shower curtain was flimsy and frayed. The room was pretty, but there was nothing luxury or high-end about it. It was a very standard grade hotel room for the price.
That the internet was not included. The room was not cleaned till 1:30 in the afternoon. The front carpet outside the hotel was dirty. The rooms were very small.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The parking garage was hard to get to.
Super downtown hotel, excellent service, very modern and contemporary furnishings. My meetings were across the street in the old outdated Selbach Hotel which was full. I am so glad that I chose to stay across the street at the Embassy, so much nicer setting. Thermostat didn't allow the room to get cool enough and the beautiful glass shower allowed water to leak out onto the floor.
The front desk staff knew what they were doing. They answered all questions with a smile and what they said was a fact. The valets went over the top to accommodate our special requests and there were several. If you want to stay near 4th Street Live. This is the place. The free breakfast was great and the happy hour was too. Stay here when in Louisville. I know I will again. I did not meet a single employee who was not friendly and professional. Well done all.
Good Location next to 4th Street Live and near to the convention center. Free Shuttle from airport a real plus. Newer hotel in an older building. Bathroom was very large but surprisingly the bedroom area was on the small side. Everyone on staff at the property seemed very nice. Enjoyed the hot breakfast and happy hour. Housekeeping was not so good. Coffee rings on counter remained through my stay never wiped up. Returned to my room one day at 5 PM to find the room was never made up so the next day I called to housekeeping to make sure my room would be cleaned before my 5 PM return only to come back to an untouched room. Very disappointing. Blackout drapes extremely hard to open or close. Had to call maintenance and the pull rod fell off one time. Maintenance said these drapes have been a constant problem.
The hotel was newly finished and was beautiful. The location was centralize and idea for activities in the downtown area. I travel often and regularly stay in a variety of hotels which fall into this category (many of them are also Embassy Suites.) However, In my many years of travel I have never found a larger group of rude, dismissive, and unprofessional employees then those of Embassy Suites in Downtown Louisville. Not until my recent visit to this hotel, was I ever given the impression that a hotel staff was intentionally trying to NOT be accommodating and/or helpful. It interesting that a team in the service industry, would seeming go out of their way to do this. This is also rather disappointing, considering that I paid almost $700.00 for two room and a 1 night stay. I would think for that price I should NOT have a "supervisor" raise his voice to me, then publicly shame me for booking through a 3rd party booking site (apparently this makes you a second class citizen and justifies them treating you poorly,) and then proceed to scream at me "what do you want me to do about it." Please keep in mind that this was in front of my friends and about 20 stranger in the lobby, oh and 10 other employees of the hotel... Classy! All of this stemming from their in ability to accommodate the simple request of adjoining rooms. Also keep in mind that I had called this hotel several times in the days prior to my check-in and spoke to a variety of people regarding this. All of whom told me different things - everything from "sure, no problem," to "I've added a note..., "or call back on this day and tell them to..." Also during this train wreck of an experience, I had two employees who couldn't even find my reservation, one of which did everything but call me a liar. However, he did manage to rather blatantly imply that I didn't really have a reservation and that I must have either made a mistake, or was making it up to pull one over on them....are you kidding me?!? As it turns out, the only reason they couldn't find my reservation was because the employees didn't understand that if you are trying to pull up a booking from a later date, you have to change the date of your search to that day and not the current date... Sounds rather basic... Of course, I can't blame those employees - clearly they were poorly trained! In short - unless you want to be verbally abused by the staff and be made to feel bad because you only spent $700 on your room(s) instead of $750, this is not the place for you.
Good location. Not far from the convention center. Rooftop restaurant/bar was decent but overpriced. Wish there was a pool. They had a partnership with the YMCA closeby but that is not convenient for a business trip.
Very friendly and helpful staff at reception. 8Up understaffed on weekend nights.
8 Up is a wonderful place to dine. The weather being nice- the roof top dining & drinks outside was fantastic
The location was very close to 4th street live and was walking distance to most attractions downtown. The toilets leaked around the bottom and almost flooded the bathroom
It's close to 4th st Didn't feel safe at night, do not walk around at night. Just take a cab or drive.
It was all that you expect from a econo lodge, friendly staff, clean rooms and right in the heart of the city, the only downfall is the breakfast, however it's the se at all of these hotels. Two types of raisin bran and some different bread products. That being said I recommend this hotel to all. Thanks econolodge Louisville for a good nights stay at a good price.
It's within walking distance of most things you might like to see in Louisville. We paid up-front for our reservation so we were committed to staying here. When we arrived, we were informed that we had to pay an extra $5.00 for parking. The mgr collected the money but did not give a receipt. This was in the off season. The hotel was less than half full. We just feel that we were robbed of $5.00. The only good part is they didn't use a gun during the robbery.

A nice hotel especially for its location. Breakfast wasn't anything special. Mainly just bagels and oatmeal. I did see ants crawling on the wall once.
