it was close to places of interest, provided an evening meal. Although the food was good we thought more simple french cooking would have been more to our liking
Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Restaurant food was very good Old hotel which seemed a little bit run down, situated in a fairly run down town. Rooms were clean and adequate, but could do with updating, hot at night (August) as no air conditioning.
Dinner was excellent Breakfast was basic
We could not have been better welcomed by the owners. Pleasant, helpful and kind and clearly on top of all of the details of operating the hotel restaurant. Rooms were spotless, nicely decorated and comfortable. Restaurant served very good dishes on the fixed price dinner menu with a reasonable wine selection as well. We will definitely return. We were looking for something more in the country so we were thrilled with the location in the small village of Damvillers.
Very nice staff. Good value for money. No wifi.
warm welcome even though on the first occasion (11 august) we arrived a day late! family hotel of great character, a fine mixture of good old fashioned quality and friendly professionalism throughout. our choices of meals prepared to perfection by le patron and served similarly with an excellent wine by the friendly wife of the patron and an attentive young lady. peaceful, comfortable night, freshly baked bread and croissants with proper coffee for breakfast. our return visit on 1 september an equally memorable occasion. will be back, though 400 miles away from home. The reception was polite and friendly, as was the waiter service. The room reeked of damp. At breakfast, we were the last to eat at about 08.30, there were shortages of basic items which were not replaced.
Nothing! This is undoutedly the worst "hotel" we have ever stayed at - dirty, smelly and noisy - right opposite a railway station. The room was hot, airless and noisy (right opposite a railway station). We asked specifically for a ground floor room for mobility reasons, but were placed on the second floor, up four flights of narrow stairs. The restaurant was not open, and there was nothing but a Taiwanese take-away place within walking distance. a total disastor and we insisted on leaving the following morning after a sleepless night.
After a couple of days in Paris it was very relaxing to arrive at this hotel. The food was absolutle wonderful, the familyroom simple but absolutely exeptable especially considering price/quality. I was looking for a tradional small town 'Logi de France' hotel with a good restaurant and this filled all the boxes! Some of the other comments found here on Bookings are not reflected in my own excperience of the hotel. Fortunately I had read some other sites that give excelllent (and fair reviews)
