Wonderful location! Walking distance to important sites in Orleans. Very helpful staff.
Access was difficult, road works in the area meant diversions. Parking was not easy.
Wonderful restaurant and a very well appointed room.
Fantastic hotel, great staff complete luxury and comfort. Nicely old fashioned designed rooms with lots of space. Do not forget do stop by the cozy, stylish hotel bar - and the restaurant is real treat... The hotel does have a parking area seemingly 200 meters away - otherwise use the public parking on the square but € 20/night.
The staff could not have been more helpful - getting my car which was parked nearby when I checked in, giving directions, pointing our the light show of summer, which turned out to be spectacular.. It's an old building and a bit faded in part. Not enough plugs for charging all the things we need to charge these days, but that is common in older hotels.
I found staff to be very helpful and polite - from reception to dining room. My wife loved the spa bath.
the decor of the room. Very comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely to be close to Chartres cathedral.
Location close to the centre of Chartres
Having stayed many times before we were disappointed this time with our stay. The main reason being the location of th room which was too distant from the lift/staircase when we had advised on booking we were travelling,as usual, with 2 small dogs and expected to be placed near easy access to the outside for obvious reasons. We had no help with our bags on arrival and departure See above.
The location was excellent and the charming, helpful staff even better. Brilliantly quick in responding to requests - eg sofa bed made up for our daughter and extra towels and pillows. Room large, light and bed enormous but still plenty of room to move around. Terrific brasserie food and waiters. Traditional decor but modern touches so not at all fuddy-duddy. Lovely welcome for our three year old which isn't always the case in France! Nothing!
Very Individually French - lovely warm atmosphere - many unique features - very comfprtable - excellent breakfast - other good restaurants very close
Excellent staff and management.
We stayed for two nights with a view to visiting the cathedral and old town at our leisure, so the location was ideal. The hotel is of interesting character, where uneven floors and doors which don't quite fit properly are all part of its quirky charm. Our room, Les Louis, was warm and comfortable, with a novel shower and a surprise kitchenette in a cupboard. Internet access was fine. We were given a friendly reception by the proprietor, and we enjoyed reasonably priced, unpretentious meals on both evenings. A plentiful, traditional breakfast was served. On arrival, we had to unblock the sink in the bathroom. The lighting was dim, making it difficult to read. Not the hotel's fault, but parking is at a premium in Chartres. We could possibly have used the nearby underground car-park, at the hotel's expense, but chose not to risk it because of our vehicle's height. Luckily, we found a space just outside, but feeding the meter was not cheap.
Interesting decor, comfortable bed. Very close to cathedral No tea/coffee facilities or glasses. No soap or shampoo.
It has character, charm and perfect location
Excellent friendly staff. Lovely location right in the centre of Chartres old town. Great breakfast and evening meal also. Parking permit is given for parking. Car park is a walk away but it is definately worth the short 3 minute walk.
Quirky hotel but really good. Great central Chartres location. Great room. Excellent food, we had lunch, dinner & breakfast. Parking is an issue but definitely worth the hassle for the location.
Excellent location, small and friendly hotel
Great location, excellent room, very good breakfast, value for money. But see below. We booked a room for the night of 16 December 2010. We went out to dinner in the evening. When we returned, at about 9.30pm, the hotel was locked and there was nobody there. It transpired that we were the only residents and the staff had left for the night. It was raining very hard and extremely cold. After much banging at the front door, which was fruitless, we went to a neighbouring restaurant. An extremely pleasant young man there (at Le Bistrot de la Cathedrale) contacted the Parvis staff who told him we should use our room key. Long story short, the key did not work. Finally the staff member turned up and let us in, acknowledging that it was the front door lock which did not work. It was by now sub-zero temperature. Not happy.
Lovely hotel... Nothing to much trouble.. Everything worked ...loads of hot water ..good position.. Good food.. Owner was away his mother made us feel very welcome and at home... None
We especially liked the shower unit and wish to know the make so that we can instal one at home 1): No drawer space for, for example, underclothes. 2): the movement detector light which caame on when the bathroom was visited
Localization, personnel, nice room, good fresh breakfest, parking place.
Large comfortable room. Excellent large bathroom with shower. Very little car parking and a charge!
Very helpful and friendly staff. Ground floor rooms next to car park have normal windows which can be seen through from the outside, so we had to have curtains closed all of the time. Poor selection of draught beers. Only Leffe available which was no to our liking. Restaurant prices very expensive, so we ate out in the town.
convenience to town centre
The Hotel was lcean and tidy but the breakfast was a big dissapointment and not worth the money!
Excellent location. Modern room and facilities. Hotel less than a year old. A/C, Great bathroom with a fabulous shower unit. Limited parking on site - 5 euros per night. Lift. Breakfast was costly for what you received. Not enough pillows.
Helpful and pleasant staff.good location.
The hotel is within a short walk of the cathedral which was our main reason to be in Chartres, so it was a convenient walk to the city center. We found everyone in the hotel to be friendly and welcoming. In the evening we ate in the seafood restaurant in the hotel, L'Ecume, and the dinner was excellent. No complaints at all!
the location was great, staff friendly and helpful and the place was clean and well cared for. the old monestary is lovely, yet the remodel choices of the plastic bathroom and wall colors did not suite it's history and charm.
The hotel building itself is beautiful and set in the centre of Chartres. It is really meant as a place for people who like the historic aspects of the city. The room was pretty basic but the view made up for it.
The hotel was calm, in a beautiful building with very clean and well heated rooms. Breakfast was really nice with many different items (not typically French!). A cozy, familiar atmosphere.
Excellent location, private parking included. Room small and lacking in facilities.
The location is great and the people were very friendly. Very good value
Secure parking in middle of city, pleasant staff, welcoming and excellent breakfast!
The hotel is a beautiful building and in a most attractive and convenient location at the heart of the town. Cathedral is a stone's throw away. Rooms are basic but light and comfortable and everything seemed to work. Substantial buffet breakfast at 7.50 euros a head was good value although kiwi fruit was hard and inedible and hard boiled eggs felt as though they had been boiled overnight! Difficult vehicular access through narrow steep streets and restricted by security bollards which descend only when intercom contact is made with operator. Reception at the hotel was not good and we were kept waiting for 20 minutes as the sole receptionist had a long gossip with some young people. Finally relief arrived although unable to operate the computerised check-in system without assistance. In other words, not very professional reception at alland whole process took at least 30 minutes from arrival at reception until installation in room!
Clean, comfortable room if a bit functional. Right in the centre of town and somewhat unusual. Very difficult to find in the dark.
Excellent position close to cathedral with good parkinbg within what also seemed to be a seminary. Good typical continental breakfast not quite as expensive as most other hotels. The entrance is in Rue Des Acacias, which is one way, and you may need to reverse into the entrance as its awarkdly behind you on the left. Take careful notice of the method of getting into the inner zone via the bollards.
Right in town centre and next to the church and lovely views
