Unlike some other visitors I found the room & bathroom size to be plenty large enough (however I was in a "double let as a single"). I especially enjoyed the on-site Pub - much nicer than the typical hotel restaurant I was expecting. The pub building looked suitably old, though I expect the internal "rustic" fittings were much more recent. The Pub had a good atmosphere, good beer and interesting Westphalian dishes. There seemed to be at least two poltergeists - one in the main block flicking the fire doors open and shut every few seconds and one in the pub - constantly rattling the door to the rest rooms - ok, I think it was a trick of the ventilation - perhaps I will go back for Halloween just to check. I could not connect to wifi in my room - there was a signal, but no connection. I think others had this problem as there were several of us camped out in reception with laptops. €14 Euro for breakfast - wow! - ok for a leisurely Sunday brunch but all I wanted was a bowl of muesli - so I stopped off at aldi the night before and bought 1kg of cereal, 1l of milk and a nice plastic bowl and spoon - and all for much less than €14!
Very quiet and cosy pension. Friendly and efficient staff. Moraas is not far from the castle Ludigslust and the beautiful city of Schwerin. Rather high noise level of the kitchen ventilation? .
When we arrived the hotel looked exactly like the pictures. Pleasant location in lovely gardens. Inside and the room were okay. We choose this hotel because of reviews and facilities offered. Harley Davidson bike hire and cycling and riding. This was our first visit to East Germany We asked about Harley Bike Hire and told by owner that is was not lavailable it was old website, hadn't done it was a while.Bathroom - would have expected a hairdryer.Evening meal was very nice when eventually served (waited 10 mins to order then another 20 mins before it arrived).Room unable to leave balcony door open as it was shared with the next room also the road noise vehicles passing by throughout the night.Worst was breakfast no variety,no chiller so food was sat on tables uncovered and swamming with flies. After a long very hot day we were refused a drink of any kind at 9.10 pm as no customers in restaurant. Not very good for our first visit to East Germany.
The design of the hotel is genius, and the breakfast buffet was just lovely up at the panorama cafe. Beautiful view of the Elbe River and the countryside (wildlife too!). We all had excellent meals at the restaurant, the beds were very comfy and all for 40€ per person, not bad at all! I wish the restaurant was more vegetarian and vegan friendly. Would have been nice to see soy milk as an option for the coffee, and perhaps a veggie burger or similar in the menu.
A very good hotel in the middle of Dannenberg. Very friendly staff who do their very best to make you feel welcome and everthing they can to make your visit a pleasant one.
I have stayed at the hotel on several occasions in the past and it is one of my favourite places. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, food is good quality country fare and very well prepared. Rooms are simple but clean, peaceful and comfortable. Parking in a safe area is available at no cost. A quiet, comfortable retreat in a beautiful area of Germany.
