Air conditioning not working... childs cot filthy and broken. Swimming pool not in use. I had to carry childs cot to another room my self. Train running at the back of hotel. Planes landing during the night 500 meters from hotel. Strong smell of must in the rooms with mildew growing on the shower tiles.Shower door falling off so over all resembled a remake of faulty towers. All of the above.
Nothing Noise - Aeroplane noise and Train noise through the night. Also noise from kitchen staff from quite early in the morning. It was just too noisy
Very nice and helpfull staff. There was no siwmming pool as advertised.
basic accommodation, cheap noisy at night internal sound proofing poor, room ventilation poor ok for overnight before catching plane
Absolutely not a 3 star - looks more like a no frills 2 star
Good Parking facilities and a good location for access to Rome's Ciampino Airport - oversall a generally good, clean, and practical Hotel. It was quite difficult to find initially as not many signposts around the area and a very basic breakfast.
Close to the airport Did not offer a shuttle service to airport so it costed 25 euro for a 5 min ride! Bathroom was extreamly small.
This hotel is very convenient to the airport, and we had an early flight. It is a budget hotel and good for the cost. Taxi for 5 minutes to airport cost over 30euro, starting at 19euro when we got in. This wiped out the savings of a budget hotel. We could hear the people in the room next door at 1:30am like they were in our room. We could hear the sink turn on, etc. as well.
Very clean, personnel kind, the hall is cold but rooms are very comfortable. The hotel is not that far from the airport of Ciampino, but, nevertheless, difficult to reach in the night and only by taxi (30 euros for less than 2 km!!!) No possibility of choice at the breakfast: they only serve 1 cappuccino, 1 croissant, 1 sandwich with jam or butter and a juice. Situated close to the airport and the railway, you can wake up at every train passing and from 6 a.m. by airplanes
Unfortunately, on a couple of occasions due to late night functions it was quite noisy.
The hotel is relatively close to the town centre. The free car park was a positive thing. I did not have much of contact with the staff, but they seem to be friendly. The hotel was under renovation. Therefore, I was annoying at one time due to that. I have stayed at the same hotel a couple of years ago and it was fine (and I think it is still fine).
I am happy I made the choice.
Very helpful staff, wonderful location.
The staff was very friendly, room was clean and comfortable, breakfast good.
Beautiful area, near to town, very relaxing
The staff were particularly helpful and the food was extremely good. The view from our room and the verandah was striking. Coffee machines in the breakfast room rather than proper coffee.
The hotel was great. The staff was helpful
Cheerful and helpful staff, Travelling with3 children we were allowed into the rooms early. Nothing appeared to be too difficult.
The interior design is beautiful and staff very friendly! That the spa had such limited hours, while I wanted after 8 pm or very early in the morning.
Recommended restaurant for lunch - pizzeria da Franco. Excellent. Helpful staff, convenient location. Recommendation for restaurant Bona Dea -- tourist trap. Disappointing food and very high prices. Length of time to key in passport info. Hotel should not keep passports for 20 minutes but should instead make copies and hand back to customer for their convenience.
An exceptional view, great old villa in the hills outside of Rome. Exceptional value for money. Not perfect if you're visiting Rome and want to see the main tourist attractions though: it's very far out of the city.
amazing location and building. Small rooms
The hotel is handy for the train station in Frascati..(15mins walk downhill but 25 mins uphill) Maybe I was just unlucky but my single room was very small and not very clean
Everything is perfect ! Progress after progress !
the building was beautiful..........great history.........the views and grounds amazing hard to find in the dark, need very clear directions
attractive location, food good. The waiters were friendly and helpful. Reception mixed. some very helpful others more offhand Conferences took over the hotel at the expense of individual travellers. eg.the only bar was used for conference events, as was the outside terrace
Great view over Rome Don't stay here if you want a 4 star hotel - its more 3 star! If that. No staff, you have to ask for someone to come to the bar, not that you would want to drink in their bar! The wind whistled in through the windon when closed and to top it off there was no hot water in the morning. The staff didn't care and I had to really complain before they would do anything about refunding part of what we had paid. I would rather have had a show than a refund but the attitude of the staff wasn't good. Oh and we chose this hotel to be not too far from Champino Airport, it still took an hour in the morning traffic.
Near Roma Ciampino Airport. Staff was unfriendly
location - spectactular - and close to where I needed to work
A very grand building. There were very few guests there. Rooms were pleasant. Pool much smaller then picture indicates Restaurant was expensive and service quirky, all the courses arrived together. Howling dogs from nearby kennels and inadequate air conditioning with no controls made for a restless night.
The Hotel Rooms, ( not bedroom ), quiet and surroundings, Could be a great Hotel but have missed opportunities and lost direction somewhere. Staff, Food & Drink, Pricing - E.G. Charging for Carafe of water clearer filled from Tap, Bedroom, Smallest tv ever, Sewerage Smells from Bathroom and Charging Guest for use of of Pool & Sauna. Not made clear how far out of town this hotel actually is.Very few guest there and made to feel as if we were an inconvenience. In complete contrast the Hotel we went to in Roma we were made to feel we were the only guests in the hotel.
View of lake. Old/small room. Bed wasn't very comfortable.
Nobody speaks English, poor service of personel, dirty rooms, tv doesnt work, door lock on terrace broken
Tried desparately to cancel my Rome accommodation to stay an additional day- staff excellent and couldn't do enough
the location was off and we reached there a bit late in the evening and the station was deserted and scary. the room was very small and we had absolutely no space to move inside the room. when asked, they say all rooms in the hotel are of the same size. well, i don't have anything strong to recommend this hotel. the food we had for dinner was billed more even after clearly informing them of the dishes we had opted for. the bill should have normally been around 45 to 50 euros and the bill we got was for 76 euros. then they said they wrongly billed some items!!!!! strange indeed..
the restorant very small bathroom, especially shower cabin
Beautifull place to have a break and relax, with very friendly and helpul staff.
View was fantastic, restaurant was very good, town was a short walk and had several restaurants, shops and, of course, the Pope,s residence.
The staff were very helpful, polite and hospitable. The dinner was excellent and very reasonably priced. The view from the room is spectacular. The pool area was not furnished and the pool needed vacuuming. The room fan was very noisy. The breakfast was very mediocre and the coffee dreadful.
Beautiful setting, Hotel decoration is excellent and charming. Very good value for money. When we arrived we were told we could book a table for dinner, later that evening we tried to book a table but we were told we could not because of weddings and had to walk to Castel Gandolfo for our meal. Noise from the weddings was a little excessive at times when we tried to sleep.
Very nice hotel with ample size room. Shower small, but common with Italian hotels.
I loved it Nothing I loved it
the courtesy bus provided there were 2 weddings on at the hotel, we felt like we were in the way and our booking was secondary. when we arrived we asked about the eating in the restaurant, but this seemed like an inconvenience the reception said they couldnt book for us, but there was noone around to help with our booking, we ended up eating in town!
Very nice hotel, easy access to Rome, would stay again. Perfect for a Rome wedding
It is an absolutely fantastic place!
The quiet...it was way away from everything, and the view. It was very difficult to find, and to get back and forth. The shuttle ran hourly, but made an evening in Rome very difficult to arrange.
Very good service at bar and at dinner on second night of stay. Delightful situation and grounds. Fake flowers. No dinner or food available on arrival at 8.30pm due to an event
Beautiful facilities, views and people. Internet access is very expensive.
Broken toilet seat in room
Beautiful setting; very courtous staff; good cousine and very relaxing They still charge WIFI access - 20 EUR per day
Food was excellent Difficult to find by car
parking outside the room we spent 2 hours trying to find the hotel, it had no sign out side what so ever
Flat screen t.v. Not enough toilet paper and no access to it after hours, hard to reach location, no signs, no food to buy around the area
it was a very good experience to stay in this hotel we had a very good time everything was good
Good value! Clean, secure and comfortable room with large flat screen. No restaurant on the facility to serve a continental breakfast. No hotel signs anywhere to identify the hotel. Fortunately the gas station attendant next door knew it.
Very nice hotel with modern design. Small room but everything was designed perfectlly. I like the automation (lights etc). It had coffe maker in the room (with charge), microwave oven, VCR, Private parking outside the room. Good price for the room. A/C had a problem and room was cold. The receptionist had to close entire A/C. Shower shouldn't have, transparent glass. In case you travel with a non close person (wife girlfriend) there is a problem. The doors should open automatically without having to get outside the car and rign the bell. I was told to pay in advance during check in.
nice and clean, pretty new wifi was very slow...
modern rooms breakfast room & choice of food
Originality of the room, access with car, private car parking Suggested improvement: glasses in minibar and in bathroom, more accessories in bathroom (kleenex, showercap)
Modern furniture. No wireless internet.
The shjower in the bedroom!!
The hotel is brand new (2010 talking), cool and nice to sleep in. Easy to get to, and there rooms are good. The WiFi service is not handling data very well, bad coverage of the rooms, so my internet connection was slow.
I liked the staff and the atmosphere of the Hotel... The lack of ample recreational facility... I believe that guests should have some sort of recreation within the hotel premises as the hotel is quite a distance from city center. A pool table or social lounge where games are available would be nice.
The room was modern, bathroom fixtures all new and very roomie. It had internet wi/fi with no extra cost and it worked. All through Europe we found old hotels, cramped and if they did have wi/fi it was on and off. A pleasure to stay here. It was challenging getting downtown to Rome and back on the trains. The trains had little information about where to go and when to get off.
The behavior at the reception was awesome. I like the guy's attitude towards the customer. I also liked the cleanliness and the atmosphere. I did not like my room. The room was too small, and fully stuffed with furniture. Had the planning of furniture been better, the room appeared to be little bigger. The quality of the pillow and the mattress was poor too.
The hotel if you have a car is perfect. It is new, and you can go by car to a metro station(15 min away). The price for this hotel is too low if you compare with other hotel inside rome you have to pay double at least. So it is better to stay outside if you have a car (only). The breackfast.
Underground parking, free WiFi internet, free shuttle (and a good punctual service) to Ciampino train station (shuttle takes 15-20min) - frequent trains from the station to Rome Termini (every 10-15 min). The hotel has also hd tv internet (keybord in your room), multi-language tv. Good breakfeast. It is a modern hotel and it is very clean. No negatives.
equipments of the hotel nothing
brand new hotel, clean & comfort rooms, underground garage with direct access to rooms by lift, free wifi, swimming pool, next to highway (if you have a car this hotel is great and offers direct access to rome and the coastal area). I found the airconditioning quite noisy for a brand new hotel besides that there is nothing negative I can tell about this hotel
The friendeliness of the staff was outstandingly warm and could not do enough for you.
The friendlyness of the staff. The breakfast is ok but is too oriented to sweets. Instead it would be good if there are scramble eggs, bacon, ham, sausages and so forth. The available dishes on restaurant menu are too oriented to pasta and the selections are simply too few. The cooking was not good at all neither the prices. The interior of the restaurant is too sterile.
views from terrace it was quite noisy
Nice small town, within walking distance to shops, restuarants, catholic church and the Pope's summer residence (June, July, August) where he blesses the audience on Sunday at 12noon in 7 different languages. Rooms are small but clean.
stunning views, good clean rooms parking difficult
very nice and quiet location - historical city and almost no cars on the street. Very friendly and professional team. Hotel owned by the family experienced in hotel business. Very clean, fantastic lake view from the room. Free WIFI. No problems at all !!! Very good restaurant in the same building.
A lovely location with fabulous views and in centre of pretty, tiny town.Very neat hotel. Good breakfast. Host was very helpful.Proximity to Rome by train was brilliant. Little room for our suitcases in the room we had.On arrival, the young man at the desk was helpful but had very little English - made asking for directions a bit difficult.
Excellent location, terrific air conditioning, and view of the lake
Good and clean hotel near Rome. Beautiful view of the Castel Gandolfo lake. Easy access to Rome dowtown. There is a train station near the hotel but is better if you have a car but parking is a little difficult because places are on the street and not in great quantity. parking is not easy
Location Fantastic, very central...
Very confortable hotel in a small but lively village with good transport connections.
Breathtaking landscape, quiet area, the garden of the estate is very spacious and well groomed, nice pool, helpful staff. Very basic facilities. Althugh rating itself as a 4* hotel it is in fact more of a lodge (agritourismo), nice and clean but not very pampering. The room was quite small with very few ameneties. There is no one on duty after 10 p.m. and no way to get a hot drink, let alone food.
Lovely swimming pool with beautiful views. Large room with very large well equiped bathroom. We were able to have a family room with balcony There was no restaurant so we had to go out to eat. There was no sitting area/lounge inside the hotel to have a drink and read etc.
Exceptional staff, unbelievably beautiful location Not that easy to get into Roma, but worth it for the peace and quiet
Clean, friendly staff, everything worked in the room, and it was very quiet at night. Lovely grounds and nice pool. Second visit here and will return. No complaints. Basic items for breakfast, but all was good and they would bring more if you asked.
The ladies on reception were excellent The television in the room was very poor, the main channels did not work (rai 2)
luxory and near Rome ande Ciampino The big appartment was at top floor with a low roof... It bekame dark and smaller that it really is....
Small, quiet location, very friendly service. Also good views and excellent value for money. No restaurant - but not really a problem - plenty close by. Wide variation in size of rooms.
The hotel was very friendly and well run.
It was everything I had hoped for and more. Beautiful views, service, grounds, and room. All above my expectations
Nice hotel, lovely setting a car is essential
The hotel was close to the airport, but not walking distance. Some of the staff were very rude. The beds were very hard and you cannot walk to the airport like we were told.
In the middle pf nowhere
It's an okay place to spend a short night if you have an early morning flight. There is a shuttle to the airport for a small fee. The dining room was excellent. The beds were just awful and the walls are paper thin.
Excellent location if you have an early flight leaving from Ciampino Airport. Except for the airport proximity, there is no other reason for me to choose this hotel.
Very good Restaurant
It is near the airport Good breakfast Staff were not too friendly
the restaurant wa very good. staff were friendly and the food excellent. the fish was great and the pizza looked sooooo good. internet access in lobby was a plus also. the hotel has a shuttle bus to the airport which is so handy. the shower area was grubby looking and the walls are thin.
Bar staff were helpful. restaurant staff were poorly organised.
ease of access back to Ciampino airport
Very nice rooms in a quaint Italian town. Very large rooms with a wonderful breakfast selection. Staff spoke little English. Location is a little inconvenient from attractions in Rome. Transporation to and from Hotel can be difficult at times. If you miss the last train in evening then it is very expensive to take a taxi back to hotel.
Attitude of the staff and general good warm atmosphere No
I liked the fact that they were happy to move us to a room with a bath when we found that the room we were allocated only had a shower and I had emailed them to confirm that there was a bath in the bathroom to which they replied affirmatively. The smaller room at the front was very hot and noisy (1 night of our 4 was in here)
Made to feel very welcome, genuinely warm staff, helpful, generous and courteous to their guests. Good adjacent restaurant. All round professional service. I liked my room, it was simple, modern and pretty. There was nothing to not like except that i wasn't driving and I had to get access to Frascati train station by taxi everytime i needed to go to rome. Bus service is poor.
Room was clean and location was good. Breakfast was very poor, well beyond 4*. Dinner was also poor and very expensive. The cost of two teas in the room was 11 euros!!!
Large room, helpful staff
Junior suite was very spacious. The spa bath. Convenient location. The television could not be viewed from the bed. The bathroom was poorly finished, the shower leaked and tiling was cracked.
nice room dining facility 'canteen like'
Close to the bath and a very nice hotel, however peaople should be let know of the sulphur smell! Restaurant was the weak point, however some good restaurants across the street (pizza) and many very good restaurants in Tivoli (10 min down the road).
Helpful reception staff. Good Trattoria, Tomasso, just over the road. Modern bedroom and bathroom, large plasma TV. €3 charge per each parking entry/exit should be free for residents.
was not prepared for the smell of the sulphur baths . It was quite strong ! sulphur smell from the baths next door
The location is great and it is extremely easy to find Used by tour companies, so breakfast was a bit of a scrum
Great value for money. Very chic and stylish Hotel. Not clear that swimming pools run by different company, and are payable extra. Ate dinner at Hotel, as not much choice within walking distance. Food not great, and not cheap. Buffet breakfast good though.
Good Servvce, clean, efficient. Ideal location for me.
New equipped, clean and comfort. No external phone line.... Hotel location is in half industrial area. Hard to find the hotel, need better directions. Internet connection is under pay and yet was very poor connection, couldn't load almost any web page.
Very helpful staff indeed, pleasant surroundings, intra-hotel sound insulation very good, excellent bathroom (loved the jacuzzi!), a balcony, good cleanliness, speedy return of laundry, good breakfast. The pillows were somewhat uncomfortable (too hard), we would have appreciated more storage facilities for our clothes (e.g. a drawer unit).
Staff were excellent. Breakfast was good albeit in the basement. No restaurant in the hotel for evening meal but the local restaurant Gallo was excellent (short drive/medium walk) and very good value for money with discount for hotel residents. Quiet location in residential area. Small secure area behind gates if you have a car. Shame the hotel air conditioning system had broken down on a hot day. It is good that the entire hotel has air conditioning and it is a quite system. Hotel staff very apologetic and offered us two rooms instead of one for the same price and free internet. Aircon was fixed by 0600 in the morning but it was a hot night. Whilst there are TVs in the room the channels are all Italian. The web site says "Aurora Hotel is next door to a restaurant serving typical Roman cuisine" - it is not next to any restaurant - that may be a translation issue for "nearby".
All you need for your stay close to Rome and other beautiful places nearby when you have transport. Trains to Rome regularly from train station Bagni di Tivoli (1km; use BIRG ticket for flat rate for train and metro). Breakfast great with not only sweets. Very helpful, English speaking staff. Rooms spotless, Internet inexpensive. Permitting the wind direction a light foul stench from the suphur baths
A very charming designed hotel with a very nice and helpful personnel. Mrs. Dana and her collegues with their positive attitude and sense of humor, and always being ready to help, made our stay indeed a very pleasant and enyojable. The hotel is also a very good base for exploring the surrondings. The views from our room to the Vesuvio are stunning. The hotel is located at the very small harbour of Vico Equense which is not up to teh standard of the hotel. However, there are a few restaurant in vicinity. To visit the center of town you have to walk uphill for cca. 25 min. I suggest visiting the nearby Sorrento 7km, by car.
Renovated, clean, free parking. Very bad smell of Hydrogen sulphide, maybe from Tivoli Terms. Quite far from underground, about 15 minuts by car. Tivoli center also about 15 minuts by car.
The staff was helpful, and the area is quiet. The Hotel is professionally run and just what we needed. It takes about an hour or more to get into Rome,
Nice and clean hotel, the breakfast was good. Rooms were really clean.
service / facilities, comfort, location
The rooms were surprisingly good for the amount we were paying. The staff were friendly and helpful. The place was clean and in good condition and situated in a quiet side street, but only a few metres from the main route. The breakfast! We have had many Italian breakfasts and there is really no reason why the hotel cannot serve the same, but improve the quality and selection. Even a better selection of fresh fruit would have helped. We ate and drank hardly anything preferring to wait until Ryanair could feed us although it is only usually my son who chooses to eat what they provide! If staying in the area again I would not automatically choose this hotel despite the fact that it was otherwise excellent.
good and clean 4star hotel, nice pool
Ideally located (close to our customer plant), not so far from Roma (35min). Guest room comfortable, clean and peaceful. The hotel in general is a little bit old fashioned. It would need to become modern.
The staff was pleasant and helpful. The room we had was clean and comfortable. Although we didn't get a chance to use it, the pool area looked amazing. The continental breakfast was very good. We were not really happy with our evening meal. The service was pleasant but the food was not up to par, in our opinion.
location very good, access easy, free parking, plentifull breakfast buffet included in the room's price during nighttime smell (sulphur) very strong, staff could improve, asked for a second pillow and blanket, received only a bedcover and next day also this was gone. restaurant of the hotel quite expensive and with rahter poor quality food
Restaurant food and service was very good. gardens were pleasant Very poor service at front desk. Poor location on main road
Pool was great but the bar by it was shut! No
I was very pleased with continental breakfast (fresh fruit, delicious coffee, cakes). Good beds. Nice swimming pool, very welcome in hot august. The price I payed (offer Booking.Com) .Bus connection turned out to be very good (bus Metro B Rome-Tivoli stops before hotel, very frequent (15 min). rather ugly surrounding (not Tivoli of course).I was rather surprised about distance to Tivoli (9 km). Restaurant is not bad, but rather expensive. And the chlorine supply ( to much) during swimming was something I did not like.
This hotel was a basic businessman's hotel and the rooms were ok. However the area nearby is scruffy with lots of litter and graffiti.Nearby there were only take away pizza places so we chose to eat in the hotel and unfortunately had the worst meal we've ever had in Italy - tasteless and expensive. The hotel was empty and quiet as businessmen had all gone on holiday. To cap it all were awoken at 3.30am both feeling as if we were choking, we found that the wind must have changed and the sulphourous smell from the thermal springs was coming in through the air conditioning and was surrounding the hotel. We couldn't wait to leave.
the staff the extractor fan don't work in the shower and the room got to hot at night i do think the swiming pool shoud be free and included in the room price and the out side pool was closed
