25 min drive from Glasgow Airport, 40 min from Glasgow city centre. Hotel is situated on Luss Bay, within Loch Lomond National Park. Catch the train to Edinburgh, jump onboard the water bus from the pier at our beach, climb the mountains, walk the glens, wake board on the loch, fly in a seaplane or just sit & enjoy the views. We have it all. Luss has been known for being the prettiest village in Scotland. The present Luss Church, built in 1875, has just celebrated 1500 years of Christianity. The church was founded by the Celtic Saint, MacKessog in the year 510AD. Across the road is the Pilgrimage centre explaining the history of Christianity in our area. A short drive away are many golf clubs including Loch Lomond, The Carrick & Helensburgh. Helensburgh is the closest large town with trains east to Glasgow & Edinburgh and west to Oban, Fort William & the islands. The hotel was opened in March 1992, expanded with 20 bedrooms in 1996 & added to with function rooms, swimming pool, heat treatments and 17 bedrooms in 2005. Graham rooms are above the restaurant & bar with most overlooking the loch, Corbett rooms all overlook the loch with private sauna & balcony. The Munro rooms are situated in a separate building a short walk across the car park. They all overlook the loch with balconies and have the swimming pool & heat treatments down the corridor. All rooms have bath & shower, tea & coffee tray, flat screen television & movies on demand. Colquhoun s restaurant serves modern Scottish food from the local area. We were awarded 2 AA rosettes for our food quality.
Our room and the view were the best things about our stay
The fact the pool is in another building and their is no sports facilities.
peaceful, soul cleansing and awesome views and access to loch lomond.
The room with the view onto the loch, and balcony made it feel very isolated in a way. Perfect environment for the romantic night away from city life which we hoped for. Very peaceful. However I imagine in summer months the relaxed atmosphere may be affected by the busyness.
It wouldn't be fair to complain too much. The food was excellent, and although for those i=with less money to spend it may seem extortionate, there is something to be said here for, you get what you pay for. The food was worth it, but we did experience a main course which was dry. The staff apologized and provided us a couple of free drinks, which was appreciated.
we like the friendly staff , they couldnt do enough for us , the room and view were great , we also enjoyed the spa ,we will be back
The main selling point to this hotel is its location. You walk into your room and Loch Lomond and its stunning scenery opens out in front of you. The hotel is a very relaxing place to stay whether just for a short break or longer
The room which we had didnt seem to have any storage space for clothes etc. Wasnt a major issue for ourselves as it only a short stay but may be for other staying longer
The room, staff (excellent), views (breathtaking), food (first class) & location (the best in Scotland).
No, a fantastic experience. First class.
The hotel was clean and informed on local things going on at the time of our visit the staff was courteous at all time and did the utmost to please the food was great complements to the chefs and was in a great location rooms was clean and comfortable
We enjoyed takining in the breathtaking views and being made to feel very special, nothing was any trouble to any of the staff.
The price of the teddy bears!
Hotel was lovely with beautiful views over Loch and fantastic facilities in room. Reception staff were very friendly & helpful.
Room appeared not to have been hoovered and there were a number of dead insects on the floor. Some of the younger staff were quite unfriendly.
Beautiful surroundings. Stunning view from bedroom window over Loch.
Reception was not up to standard on arrival. Seems mean to leave only one hot chocolate and one pack of biscuits in a double expensive room! Having said that this seems to be the norm for Scotland as I have never come across it elsewhere! Evening menu is 3 course - far too much food and more money than we wanted to spend as we did not want 3 courses but was faultless.
