Pros: Lovely hotel - welcoming staff and very pretty surroundings. Bedroom was very comfortable - in particular the queen-size bed. Good choice for breakfast in the morning too!
Cons: I turned up at the same time as people arriving for the theatre so parking was a bit tricky - managed to get a spot though!

Pros: Location all really nice
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: During our three day stay the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, going the extra mile to help with details of where and printed details of our excursions for us. The dining room staff made our stay extra special too with their welcome and the food was delightful.
Cons: We didn’t find anything negative during our stay
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Kilworth House is a beautiful country pile. We felt like we had stepped into a movie set in a spectacular country home in the English countryside. Our Luxury Double was huge, quiet and extremely comfortable. We discovered snug nooks and crannies and the large lounge area was stately and well tended by gin and tonic plying staff. Dinner in the Orangerie and a show in the theatre. Walks in the woods. All just delightful. One of the loveliest places we’ve ever stayed.
Cons: There’s nothing to dislike here
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Rooms very warm
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Manager of hotel and all staff were excellent
6.8 Good
Pros: Bed was comfortable
Cons: They ran out of olives at 5pm on a Friday evening, ran out of red leicester for their room service red leicester and pickle sandwiches at lunchtime on Saturday. Eggs Benedict were dreadful. Left on the pass and totally tasteless hollandaise. The omelette the next morning was equally dire. When we asked the waiter for a wine recommendation to go with chateaubriand he suggested "red". Er.... ok thanks for that! Finally the plug on the vanity unit was stupid. It was too low so you couldnt plug in the hotels own hairdryer anywhere near the vanity mirror. Definitely not worth £250 a night. It was ok but not great.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is superb, and they supplied a good breakfast
Cons: If you are staying there alone the staff are a bit aloof and there is no cosy bar, to sit quietly and read a book.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: location,breakfast,friendliness
Cons: mini bar in room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel situated in a lovely location, unfortunately as we booked late, we couldn't eat dinner until 8, but we found a lovely restaurant called The Attic, which is just up the road. We would definitely stay again.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely room. Very comfortable bed. Plenty of storage and good lighting. Breakfast was nice but I chose the sauté potatoes instead of hash browns and only got two small slices!
Cons: Bathroom was enormous but there was no bath and nowhere to put wash bags and toiletries. Outside areas in need of maintenance. Tables were rearranged on the patio in the morning but the area hadn’t been swept and there were leaves and cigarette ends all over the place.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location.
Cons: Pillows were very uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really lovely and great value in a week night
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I would be very happy to stay again, it was quiet as I stayed mid-week, a very relaxing environment. The weather was great so the doors and windows were open onto the gardens. The staff were great and very helpful, a night porter is on overnight if you are returning late. The light meal I had off the bar menu and breakfast the following morning was great, I was very happy with the room, I received an automatic upgrade, it was very spacious and the bed was really comfortable.
Cons: I am raising this not because it was an issue for me but might be for others. The staff are great, friendly and professional however, you might have to pop down to reception to ask for a drink from the bar. You might need to find or ask a member of staff as they are passing to order a snack. Not all areas had staff on standby at all times and like I say that was fine by me, the surroundings were great and I was not in any rush.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything.

Pros: Nice rooms and venue
Cons: Our rooms were not ready by 3pm. We visited the reception 3 times before it was ready. Key was given to us at 430. Family of 4had to shower and get ready for wedding reception at 530. This was not acceptable.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Beautiful location good facilities excellent staff great food.
Cons: Having to leave
5.5 Okay
Pros: Breakfast adequate. Style of room.
Cons: Long queue to book in, took about 25mins. Only one chair in room, at the price we paid would expected two armchairs and a desk chair. Couldn't get staff attention to order an a la carte breakfast, so went for a full English and whilst we were away from table the staff cleared our table completely assuming we had left. Lamp shades in room were broken and wobbly.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent and the service too.
Cons: Tv signal was a little bit poor but it wasn’t the end of the world.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Super atmospheric decoration in keeping with the Abbey history. Nice touch of free fruit and sweets in reception.
Cons: Slightly pricey and over fancy food descriptions

Pros: Coombe Abbey is a beautiful place. I stayed in a standard double which was very spacious, lovely bathroom, comfortable bed so I can only imagine what a room that was of a higher price. 8.8 Excellent
Pros: A really friendly reception from the kind woman running things. We had 24 hour access, a good TV, comfortable beds, plenty of storage in oak furniture. Break fast really good, so much choice and individually prepared. Generally all was maintained to a high standard.
Cons: Down side. Shower drain blocked, but soon cleared when reported. Located on a main road so noisy during the day. good at night. A couple of small chairs in the room would have been useful along with a writing surface.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good sized rooms, well appointed bathroom and particularly liked the walk-in shower. The staff.
Cons: Lack of off road parking although on road parking was available over the road. Road noise in the front bedrooms. Steep stairs could be an issue for some.

Pros: The en-suit bedroom was lovely very spacious and clean, the bed comfy. I mistakenly didn't book breakfast, our hostess very kindly prepared us something very nice indeed even so, she couldn't have served us better,
Cons: The road was busy and noisy but the price reflected this shortcoming and it didn't bother us.

Cons: Curtains in room didn’t close fully so could be seen from outside, parking was in adjacent street, pot luck in getting a space. Some sockets in room didn’t work
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was stunning , bigger bed than at home , well decorated and cleaner than clean. Outside the room was decking and a hot tub ; but I hadn't got my trunks
Cons: The only slight issue is the TV Channels - instead of BBC 1 being 1 on the controller its 15 and ITV is 2 and so on - nothing quite where it usually is but that isn't a major problem .

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fab welcome at reception. Staff absolutely great. Big room great for our family and gym facilities good too. Breakfast was also fantastic.
Cons: The only thing I can say is that the bathroom was a little small compared to such a big room. Would have liked a bath but not complaining!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good sized room, comfy bed
Cons: Shower temperature adjuster very very stiff, had to wrap a towel round it to get any purchase on it before it would move. shelf above wash basin? Stupid design, when you wash your face, you either bang your head on it, or throw water everywhere because you can't get near enough to the basin. Expensive breakfast, although it was very good. But at £12 each, it wants to be
8.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice bar and restaurant. Friendly staff.
Cons: Rooms a little dated.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming staff on arrival, checked if availability in restaurant and booked us in. Upgraded room was gorgeous.
Cons: No air conditioning
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff were lovely and the area not too bad.
Cons: Terrible ventilation in the room and the windows would only open 2 inches so hardly let any air in and people live slamming their doors early in the morning
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was lovely and the staff were efficient and friendly. Our room was spacious and comfortable
Cons: We paid extra for an executive room and it seemed like the only difference from the cheaper ones was a small settee. I felt the bathroom could have had a selection of toiletries instead of a bottle of shower gel on the wall and a handwash by the basin. The complimentary coffee and tea bags were thrown in a small dessert bowl and had no decaf or even a biscuit which would have been nice after a long journey
9.5 Excellent
Pros: the location
Cons: breakfast was extra
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic breakfast. We had our evening meal at the hotel which was also superb
Cons: No problems whatsoever
5.5 Okay
Pros: The place it’s self was pretty and the staff were very nice
Cons: The price to stay for the night was extortionate and the location wasn’t the best in a housing a state which was not shown on the pictures
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Convenient for what I was doing.
Cons: Hope I have plenty of room for this. I stopped at the Old Mill in March 2018, and wrote a quite scathing review at the time. In it I voiced my opinion regarding the pathetic WiFi facility, the grubby, outdated bathroom, the hideously small television set, and poor lighting in the room and finally, the awful service in the restaurant/bar. Linda Johnson wrote back to me at the time, apologising for each of the issues I had stated, citing further training being necessary for the staff in the restaurant/bar area and going on to say that the WiFi was in the process of being sorted, and that the rooms were going to be refurbished, part of which would be the updating of the bathroom and installation of better TV sets. So, let’s address these issues one by one; 1. The WiFi. My business takes me worldwide, and as a result I have stopped in hotels in places that you probably wouldn’t visit for anything other than business. However, with the technology of today, 99.9% recurring of these places have a WiFi facility which you get immediate access to, without messing about setting up individual passwords, etc. The “improved” WiFi facility at the Old Mill basically consisted of Michele on reception giving me a grubby piece of paper containing instructions which would more apply to somebody who had never used WiFi in their life. However, already having iCloud, I didn’t need to faff about with this set up, In my room the facility was about as fast as it was anywhere in the old dial up days. However, as per usual in the restaurant area, it didn’t work at all. Some upgrade then! 2. The grubby outdated bathroom ... was STILL a grubby, outdated bathroom. Seriously, I lived in Coventry at the time of the Old Mill being converted from just a pub into a hotel, restaurant and bar in the 1980’s. As we used the pub at the time, we were invited along to the launch event. Aside from the shower itself having been updated the rest of the bathroom is in a time warp!

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good size room. Very quiet, plenty of parking. Modern, light and clean.
Cons: Room was very hot with no temperature control. The Buffet dinner was not great - rather dry and 'warmed up'. There was a good choice for breakfast, but the cooked elements of the buffet breakfast were tepid/cold.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were excellent. Also, for the purposes of my trip, the location was ideal as the venue I had to visit was within the University grounds and so walkable, thus not attracting the University parking charges. The hotel was clean and tidy. I have given an honest review and scored the good points highly and appropriately. However, my visit was ruined by the issues below.
Cons: When I arrived I was informed that the hotel had a restaurant but not told that it was advisable to book. When I went to the restaurant in the evening, I was told that as I had not booked there were no tables available, even though I was a guest at the hotel. In my view, this is absolutely appalling and not acceptable. I had to eat "bar food" at a low table in a crowded bar; very uncomfortable. Later that first night, at 0015, I was woken by a group of people in the hotel laughing and shouting. After about 30 minutes, this subsided but I could still hear details of the ensuing conversation which continued until about 0100. Unfortunately I could not identify exactly where the sounds were coming from (same floor, lower floor?). Clearly, any sound proofing is completely useless. In my view, there is no sound proofing or it is of such poor quality as to be totally useless. So much for a good nights sleep. I raised these issues when I booked out on the Sunday and the receptionist (who was very helpful) told me that she would forward my complaints. It was clear to me that she had heard the same complaints before, and if this is the case they should have been rectified.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was more than adequate with plenty of choice. Lunch was taken in the sports bar ( Baguettes etc) and we ate in the Restaurant in the evening, nice atmosphere and food with enough choice
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location charming and rural, not least little copse for peaceful wanderings. Also big golf course. Yet not far from bigger villages and motorways. Nice view from comfortable little room.
Cons: Very amateur service in bar restaurant: red wine brought when pink ordered, water for one, when we were two, extremely slow even though not that busy. Bathroom badly planned: no hook/s or place to leave vanity bag or robe.
6.8 Good
Cons: Room was dated, pillows were like rocks Breakfast and room charges were extortionate
6.8 Good
Pros: The staff were very helpful in the evening, serving us drinks even though the barman had retired (it was before 11am)
Cons: The breakfast was frankly inadequate. I came for breakfast at 9am and many of the plates were empty with no obvious activity to replace them. One of the worst breakfasts I have ever had. The twin room has no coffee making facilities which is standard in lesser expensive chains. The fan provided was inadequate, we had brought our own fortunately.

Cons: Very difficult to get cab .reception gave me 4 numbers none any good !!! Sourced my own in the end

Pros: The room was very clean and comfortable and beautifully decorated, suiting the historical nature of the building and village. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was fantastic value and really set us up for the day ahead.
Cons: I can't fault it. We weren't able to park in the on-site car park on arrival, since it was full, but the staff had given us directions to the nearest public car park in advance, which was only a short walk away.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: could not fault the accommodation at all....everything exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was excellent too. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and were equally impressed. Brilliant stay
Cons: the only thing I could find any problem with was very trivial really as we were so impressed with everything..... perhaps they could consider decaffeinated coffee/tea sachets in the rooms as a lot of people prefer decaff now....and the decaff coffee in the restaurant is rather bitter....perhaps a different brand.....other than that BRILLIANT.

Pros: The hotel is ideally situated for my needs. It is pleasant, comfortable and quiet.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner is exceedingly welcoming and even offered a hot drink on arrival, also there is a lounge (with large TV and Alexa!) which guests can use. My room was clean and very comfortable with good bathroom facilities, and the lights in the bedroom area were bright enough to read by in comfort, unusual in many hotels/B&Bs in my experience. Even though breakfast was listed as an extra, I was offered a cereal/toast/coffee breakfast at no extra cost.
