Room was very large, great views, and comfortable. The WiFi (which wasn't free) failed at 8pm, and didn't get resolved until 11:30pm. The hotel did, however, refund the charge.
Space and facilities in the room and locality
This was our second stay at the hotel, great location for our shopping trip to Merry Hill. The breakfast was excellent.
Room, including bathroom/shower, was very clean and spacious with all necessary facilities available. Every member of staff that we came into contact with (restaurant, bar, reception, fitness/pool) were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Restaurant choice of meals was limited.
The hotel is well situated to many of the local attractions. In addition to the hotel's amenities, there is also a health club adjacent to the main entrance. The Wi-Fi connection is perhaps the only defect that I can discern at the present moment. It was slow, undependable, and forced me to use my use my mobile data.
location was very good for business in Dudley no problems
room was large and very comfortable breakfast was not good at all and the spa facility was very untidy
Spacious bedrooms, good leisure facilities (although we didn't have time to use them) and situated close to the Merry Hill shopping centre. Good parking facilities. Wi Fi not free. The bar area was noisy due to a large group of young people (possibly from an event taking place at the hotel).
Needed to recieve some documents and front desk were very helpfull
clean with goo sevice it so far from the city for business or for entertainment
Only the fact that there was a huge stain on the carpet in our room.
The room was lovely and the location nice Not ideal if you do not have a car because the surounding area was not easily accessible! Raj was great on the mornings as the waiter Some of the reception staff were rude and disrespectful We were two young ladies staying and they did not seem to like this
location and comfort of room
Got the room cheap through Active Hotels so it was good value
location to himley hall. disco loud early hoursof sunday morning ?
The friendliness of the staff especially on the reception desk upon arrival. Mould in the bath/show
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room service was exceptionally quick even though there was a large party in the hotel at the time. The breakfasts were delicious - a real treat. The mattresses were rather lumpy, but I turned the mattresses and it was much better and worth the effort.
Unfortunately the beds were hard and uncomfortable. The room was cold, the heater did not work in our room(129). Despite reporting this nothing was done. Apart from this we enjoyed our stay.
quiet and comfortable thermostat on shower did not work stuck on boiling hot when asked for bill the initial bill was not based on the rate booked through yourselves but this was corrected without any fuss.
Nice hotel set in a pleasant grounds with good road links into Wolverhampton. Room was a good side well equiped and comfortable. The bathroom was in a very poor state with patched up tiling, plastic strips around the bath and on the ceiling apparently covering up gaps after a partial refit. The tiles was filthy with black mound in the grout, around the taps and mixer shower. The extractor fan filter was thick with dust and the shower curtain rod continually fell down. For a hotel of this standard the bathroom was an utter disgrace.
Clean, Tidy and friendly staff. Easy to find and well located for the area. Lovely club sandwich in the bar! Shower extractor fan was constant, the main bathroom one went on and off with light ok but one over shower 'hummed' all night. Car park had lights but only ones nearest to reception were on (or working) making it very dark for late arrivals (as I was).
Newly refurbished bedrooms which were really nice and really comfy bed.
comfort and cleanness no
Convenience of the location
The comfort and cleanness of my room no
The hotel was handy for Dudley. The rooms were clean and tidy We stayed in a King Superior room, the bed was infact 2 single mattresses that kept coming apart
There was nothing we didn`t like about our stay , everything was excellent . The staff very helpful and friendly the food was top notch , We would definetely stay again
the room was so lovely thanks, staff are very help full thanks to them we will stop again thank you the out side there where a lot of cig butts did not look to nice as we dont smoke
The overall standard of the hotel was very good We were given a free upgrade but the friends we were travelling were left in one of the standard rooms with the 1990 decor - How embarassing. The steaks were very tough and though we were given a free dessert it sort of took the shine off an otherwise nice meal. At £16.95 for a steak I expect better. Finally, if you are paying nearly £14 for 4 drinks you should expect glasses that look nicer than the inch thick functional things they use. The lemonade and pepsi looks flat when they put it in and I had to ask for ice. No sign od a slice of lemon. In summary, respond better to problems and pay attention to those details!!!
apart from view, everthing was excellent veiw from bedroom
Staff courtesy, evening Meal, quality of breakfast, the coffee
Individual style of rooms - striking and different Temperature fluctuations in corridoors
The Character of the hotel The hotel is undergoing refurbishment at present which meant that services you would normally expect were not available.
Nicely designed hotel, very good breakfast, I fully recommend the hotel.
Very cosy room decorated to seem like a Victorian 'bed-sit' Floor boards very creeky, and poor soundproofing which meant I could hear conversations next door, and their bed thumped against the wall whenever they moved.
Not a faceless room - loved the 'old' style and especially the dining room. Renovations were taking place so did not view whole hotel Nothing
Restauarant was excellent with very attentive staff who were very professional There are certain areas which could be improved upon. The TV sets in the bedrooms could be upgraded and a little attention to detail in the bedrooms would lift the general standard of the hotel tremendously.
A very interesting hotel, I really liked it. The room I was in had carpet in the bathroom so of course you always have a slight smell of wet carpet from the shower etc
They had moved a month early to a completely no smoking policy and as they had renervations going on outside had no facility fo smokers at all.
I loved this hotel! It was cute and quirky and very comfortable. A bit of a maze to manage at times, but that was part of it's charm! The food in the restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and dinner, and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. All in all it was a wonderful stay, and I'll be back soon! The only minor fault was the amount of stairs, but I only really noticed that as I've not long recovered from a broken leg and am still a little wobbly...but without the stairs and corridors, it wouldn't be the same...so it didn't really bother me that much, but I could soo how someone with mobility issues would find it a struggle!
Restaurant facilities were very nice, it was quite quirky. Person on reception having an argument with the bell boy type bloke who I couldn't understand. My window looked out onto a brick wall 1.5 metres away, felt a bit run down but you have to remember they've intentionally made it look old fashioned including very flowery wallpaper etc.
We got a nice welcome at the reception and given a key to the room. After walking up through an extensive quantity of stairways, we got to our designed room. They had kept for us a room for 4 people at the place of two. The first room, with a clean double bed, was dark, the only window was with a view on garbage and abandoned furniture, the bathroom had carpeting floor, always wet, because the tub-shower had no curtain, and the wall paper was coming off here and there. So we choose the upstair room with two windows with a nice view, a small TV, and a lot of furniture. The place had character, but kind a need some maintenance. The hotel is next to a few restaurants, the city bus pass by and you are close to the motorway, so convenient.
The 2 for 1lunch deals and the rooms were clean and comfortable and their was adequate room for parking.
Free parking was probably the only good thing about my stay. To be honest I didnt enjoy my stay at all, my room was not particularly clean and smelt musky. The bath had mildew around the edges, went to the hotel restraunt, where I was the only customer, which was fine I had the smoked salmon and king prawn salad to start, the prawns came with a very unusual sauce and the salmon tasted very "fishy". I had the mushroom risotto for my main, disgusting! I could not eat any of it, it was the most disgusting, lumpy foul tasting meal I have eaten, it comes with veg I thought, unbelievably your chef had managed to destroy veg n potatoes! I had paid for breakfast and asked if I could not have breakfast and call it quits on dinner I would pay for drinks no, so I paid for a foul dinner and breakfast I didnt eat
Very helpful reception staff and excellent value for money. Location was perfect.
Clean and functional, all facilities that you need for a short stat, good price for an average hotel. Fine
Service from staff was friendly and efficient Bathroom was very dated, damages and not very clean, there was also beatles in bedroom and bathroom
relaxed hotel with internet facilities - also quiet no Blossom Hill by the glass - unusual!!!
The bar shut in the due to 'staff sickness' at 10.00, although the receptionist did get me a beer.
excellent value for money, rooms basic but comfortable, friendly and helpful staff, good for shopping
Cheerful and friendly staff
Staff were really friendly, liked added touches of mints and biscuits in the room. It was quite noisy by the road as the windows did not appear to be double glazed.
The decor and period furniture is beautiful in this period house. Owners and staff were friendly and warm and could not do enough for you. Restaurant food excellent. The stay was excellent and throughly recommended to anyone. Country setting around Kinver and Enville is beautiful.
The staff were welcoming and friendly. Everywhere was clean and tidy with furnishings to a good standard. We were not given the room we had booked (Marsh) but the room offered (Bouguet) was very acceptable.
nice gardens and rooms The only really friendly people we meet were the owners of the hotel . the others employees wer below expectations
location was superb and the staff very helpful and friendly. The shower was excellent always one of my key assessments of a good hotel.
Pretty and comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff I think 10.00am checkout on a Sunday is too early and our room was cold when we checked in at 4pm.
Beautiful hotel. Well presented obviously a labour of love. Not too formal. Friendly and welcoming. No Meals on a Sunday night. No hot drink making facilities in the room. Though the staff will provide hot drinks on request.
The staff were excellent , the food was superb , the ambience was very relaxing . There were no tea and coffee facilities in the room .
Nice location. Excellent shower. Was overcharged on arrival and had to wait until departure to resolve. The advice was that I would obtain a refund 'once what I had spent in the hotel had been deducted'! As a result I chose not to spend any money on any service. There was unseemly rush to get my credit card and take the money up-front. There was a Medieval Banquet for 80 people being held on the night of my arrival. I had not been told about this when I phoned the hotel to confirm my booking. Had I known this I might well have choosen another hotel. As a result the restauraunt was effectively closed to residents that evening and the suggestion was that I drove in to Kinver to find alternative sources of dinner. Not good at all.
The hotel is in a lovely building and setting. The owners are welcoming and helpful and it's rare not to have anything to critisise!
i liked the fact that the bed was very big. very spacious to fit myself, my partner and my 3year old daughter.
Friendly staff, comfortable and well presented. On a busy main road very close to motorway - very noisy!
TheRamada was fien hotel choice. GreatValue GreatCleanliness the only stickin point is theDistance from CityCentre
Staff unhelpful-didn't know address of hotel when we rang after cutting us off saying "wait a minute" 3 times (yes 3!!!), messed up booking- double not twin as "coach load arrived before you so we've got non left",awful food-reception staff told us to go to McDonalds down the road if not happy, no heating, stank of smoke in no smoking room. Breakfast OK though. Awful, worst hotel experience you could imagine-faulty towers. Breakfast quite nice though!
The bathroom are very new, clean & well designed. The hotel was very functional for a nights stay & the staff very helpful The bed is extremely uncomfortable
Lower price, due to the hotel only just opening. Nice bar Still building, only very few guests so bar closed at before 10pm. Still building work going on, also made errors when refunding the room deposit.
Close to m/way I booked a twin room and all that was available was a double!! Receptionist was most unhelpful and said there was nothing that could be done - not really sorry either! I suggested they find a single mattress to lay on the floor as a bed and eventually this was done. No initiative. Up themselves and a very poor example of Ramada service,
not good value for money.
it was following our wedding party, so was a late arrival for us but staff were helpful and friendly. Lovely bar too!
the room design and de-core, and room service no batteries in the TV remote
Clean and quiet surroundings
Room was well designed and staff friendly. Restaurant was excellent! Didn't have a pool but you get what you pay for.
Good Location handy for local transport -excellent friendly staff and good food Room was a little cold
Hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful None
The staff were very friendly and exceptionally helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. I felt very safe as a lady travelling on my own. The room was quiet at night, a pleasant surprise, and the bed very comfortable. I slept really well. The breakfast service was also excellent. Thank you.
Nice clean room Bad smell from bathroom - either toilet or sink... Was reported to reception on leaving
The staff were very welcoming at reception and especially in the Table Table restaurant - The Lakeside, where the manager went out of his way to accommodate us on a busy evening. The beds for my children were already made up when we arrived. All the beds were very comfortable. We were not given the option to reserve a table for an evening meal when we made the online booking and so getting food on site was stressful.
The staff were very helpful and polite. Room adequate for a budget hotel. Good location for City Centre. Slightly better attention to detail with cleanliness of edge areas. Noisy fire doors. Unwelcoming reception area. These are minor observations rather than dislikes, as the whole hotel was good value and pleasant.
the temperature control in the room was excellent. The proximity of the pub/restaurant was fantastic too. only a couple of sheets of toliet paper which quickley ran out and there was no refill in the liquid soap/shower gel containers.
Difficult to find way around building. Got lost finding dining room. Reception hard to find.
Room was clean Shower did not work properly, either scalding hot or freezing cold Heating on all night made room like a sauna smoking rooms within the hotel rooms, corridor stunk of smoke
Poor smoking area
Very good sized rooms
Helpful staff and value for money accommodation None found
The hotel was loverly and clean, easy to find, and really great staff
Warm welcome and friendley staff. Excellent Breakfast and compfy rooms N/A
We enjoyed our stay all of the staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were excellent value.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Ideally situated for my needs. Lack of in-room entainment.
Booking in was quick and easy and room was fit for purpose, the restaurant in the evening and for breakfast was great The noise from other rooms
Caring attitude and helpfullness of staff at all times. Poorly signposted on dual carriageway. Would be difficult to find in the dark.
poor access poor signage
Clean, light My room was cold, i could not make the heating come on and i had to go to bed with some clothes on
staff very friendly, good food and comfortable bed
wedding guests at a hindu wedding
Breakfast was excellent value for money. Good parking space. Client- oriented attitude of staff, who were all very helpful, polite and accommodating, explaining system and giving local information. Convenient site for my business activities or even worth considering for family visits to the nearby castle and zoo in Dudley. I cannot think of any bad points except the nearby roadworks over which the hotel has no control.
The family room was nice and clean and the staff were friendly. I thought that the entrance to the Hotel and the reception were a bit shabby and could do with a total revamp.
Terrible bed - didn't get any sleep.
It is very convenient for us to attend theJehovah's Witnesses Assembly next door. This year there was excessive noise in the room above at 1am and at 3.45am. Talking laughing and moving furmtiure. The rooms are far to hot over night and even with the window open found the heat uncomfortable.
I liked the big bedroom and big bathroom and comfortable bed and the room was clean and plenty of storage space in the wardrobe. The location was good only a few minutes from the town centre and bus station. The breakfast was excellent and we really enjoyed our stay at the Station Hotel. No
I think its a lovely hotel steeped in history and character. I liked the decor and the fact that its very close to the castle. All staff were polite and friendly. N/A
bar servive and opening times not good for a hotel. not open durung day and bar closed at 11pm
The room was spacious, well furnished and very clean. Parking was on site so that was really handy. Central location. Friendly staff and we had our own front door key to come and go as we pleased.
Clean room, comfy bed, great staff, cheap price. None.
Good value for money. Extremely pleasant staff. I like the idea of a common fridge! Traffic noise was a slight problem.
Warm & comfortable, very homely with the personal touch The sink in the room
Friendly staff & ample parking. Nice & clean, character building. Hot water pipes noisy in morning from other rooms. No cooked breakfast option.
The room was excellent; large, clean, comfortable bed, wide screen tv with freeview box and free wi-fi. The hotel itself is well presented and has free parking. The owners are very friendly, helpful and know all about the local area. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
the hotel was very warm and had a fridge for clients use which we found usefull our room was at the front so was a bit noisy from traffic
Room good value. lovely spacious room which was tastefully decorated. Lovely welcome to the hotel, very helpful. Walls too thin , our room was noisy as on a main road. We did not get back until late and was woken up by noisy people above.noise from toilets and water system very loud, plus noise from the traffic. Maybe if we were in a different room it may have been better
we were very impressed with all aspects of the hotel and intend to stay again in the future
