The staff were very attentive and the rooms were very comfortable. A bit isolated, no shuttle bus service to towns/villages. And not an extensive range of food options.
I loved the position, the view, the room was comfortable and we enjoyed the walk around the resort. We did not eat in the hotel and ordered a room service breakfast, more about that in the next box. The room was wonderful but the lack of generosity in the provision of crockery and cutlery was an extraordinary oversight from such a hotel. The room service breakfast was less than delicious and was not a good experience we only ordered once and preferred to not eat in the hotel. The lack of even a shower cap again pointed to a lack of generosity in the detail and the provision of some simple necessities for guests.
The hotel is well located with good access to Barossa Valley vineyards and restaurants (although redtaurants are a drive away). Sporting & games facilities are ample & good The restaurant is too small for the hotel, so it was booked out both nights we were there. Staff are junior, not well trained, and while willing, seem to be able to not do anything because of inflexible rules. Thus, after a long trip from Cairns we arrived to be told that the restaurant was fill, and we could only eat bar food in the bar - restaurant menu items, or indeed, room service items could not be eaten there, even though hamburgers etc, could.
The main reception staff were very helpful and easy to deal with The shower was not practical, and quite dangerous. Airconditional was a problem. Mix up in being told we have a free breakfast and then had to pay. Female receptionist at breakfast was quite rude. Fatty bacon, runny scramble eggs, cold sausages (waste of money)
the view the price we paid with no breakfast included was very expensive. I had lunch in the Harry's restaurant (as part of the conference) the food was not that great.
The hotel is beautifully located, the rooms are excellent, as are the public areas, and staff are friendly and helpful. It is centrally located for seeing the Barossa Valley and visiting local wineries. Breakfast was great, in the dining room overlooking the vineyards and hills. We very much enjoyed our stay. The pool could do with being slightly heated - it's very cold! Also the poolside area could do with being tidied up.
A super venue to explore the Barossa Valley. Staff very knowledgeable about the area. Excellent arrangement for winery tour.
Staff very helpful. Food excellent, room very comfortable, evening meal sperb. would loved to have stayed for longer. Internet expensive
Room was classed as above average for price, and I liked the idea of no smoking in room even though I am a smoker and made sure the door to Balcony was closed when went out on it for a cigarette. Over all would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel
Appreciated restaurant & wine shop on location Rubbish bins that repeatedly were placed outside my door and dirty unswept pathway.
the location was good for touring the barossa wine region Didn't like that a twin room was a double & a single, not great for adults sharing.
i liked the resort being off the main road away from traffic ... safe for children bathroom very clean but for older people a handrail near shower would be good for safty
It was in the main St of Tunanda and close to other areas. The Hotel is showing its age, and the cleanlyness was well below par, with ants in the room cobwebs in the bathroom and a dirty shower. Curtains which needed attention very shabby.
Small number of guests at a time, and well looked after.
The grounds and gardens were beautiful. It was a nice part of the world to be in. I think the rooms need a refresh if it is to charge the rates it does. The bathroom needs redesigning.
Attentive personal service, high quality food and wine and beautifully appointed rooms in idyllic surroundings made this a worthwhile stay.
