The staff were very helpful and we felt welcome. The position and views were good. Parking was very tight and it lacked a lounge. Also I do dislike not having coffee refills 'free' after a meal in a restaraunt and being charged by the cup.
Excellent, scenic location. Very friendly & helpful staff. Clean & spacious rooms. Interesting menu with food well prepared.
The location is beautiful and the staff at the hotel very freindly and helpful
The overall ambience was lovely, the food, reception and of the corse the beautiful scenery n/a
Not a comfortabkle chair in the place to read a book. Needs updating - definitely not a four star hotel.
Good room which took our dog with a great views Room is near bar and bar/resturant toilets so can be noisey till late evening.
Nice view Comfortable bed Dinner menu in room not availablel nad we were not told this when we were invited to book for dinner. No bath
We were made welcome from the moment we entered the hotel.
The location was good - set by the sea in Lynmouth. The food was excellent - well cooked, good selection. Staff were friendly. The bathroom was cold as the windows are single glazed & the heater was inadequate - this did not spoil things for us I'm just mentioning it
Friendly staff, nice room, quiet at night, lovely views from room, excellent breakfast. Cramped car park.
The view from my bedroom was wonderful, the hotel has an old fashioned charm, the food was good with generous portions the lounge was cosy and pleasant. I would certainly go there again. Excellent value the bathroom had no shower or mixer tap in the bath making it difficult to wash your hair
very comfortable room. location excellent. breakfast particularly good. no teletext on television.
Great food in the dining room! Parking was tricky.
Room was excellent and staff very friendly. Situation perfect No swimming pool
Hotel of Character and good location Poor Tv
Well located, parking ok in Autumn. Helpful staff and well located for touring/site seeing Needs new windows, but heating was good.
A Lovely location Hotel good but a little dated breakfast good enjoyed by all
Excellent Room - Good Food - Good Service
Upgraded to room with spectacular view of the harbour and cliffs. Car park adjacent, food very good. Excellent value. Some might find the decor rather dated, but it was clean and serviceable for the price.
Had asked when booking for a sea view and on arrival not only did we have a lovely view over the harbour and sea but had been upgraded to a better room as well. The beds were comfortable, lovely fresh new linen and the staff were very nice. If you like Lynmouth this hotel is in a perfect location. Will definately be returning to this hotel. The only criticism is that the water to the shower was a little dodgy, in that it suddenly went hot or cold for no reason at all (ie. no other taps running or toilet being flushed at the same time).
Friendly, conscientious owners; Impeccably clean throughout; Warm and comfortable rooms; First-rate complimentary breakfast, with fresh fruit, quality cereals, butcher-sourced bacon, sausages, etc., fresh eggs from the hens in the garden, homemade breads, preserves and yoghurt. Don't miss the lemon curd! English plumbing - I didn't deduct marks for this, as i know it to be a traditional english condition and not reasonably within the control of the hotel owners. - The usual problems: Very cramped shower; Water temperature highly erratic; No heating in bathroom. As George Mikes (pronounced Meekesh) reported to us in his hilarious memoire of an immigrant to Britain, "How To Be An Alien": "It is all right to have central heating in an English home, except in the bath room, because that is the only place where you are naked and wet at the same time, and you must give British germs a fair chance."
