The front office staff were most helpful including supplying a map and directions.First class!!
great staff spoke good english, comfy bed, clean good sized bathroom, wonderful breakfast, very close to train station and 5 min. away from downtown lovely Amersfoort. We had dinner there which was pretty good and there is also a decent bar area. No complaints
The breakfast outside was spectacular
Very comfortable room. Wi-fi is not for free.
Staff so helpful,beautiful room.
Good location, near central station and 5 mins walk to the centre
the fact that the hotel is very new/functional and quiet. Staff was very friendly.
It was quiet & I liked your green policy The room was too cold; there were no instructions as to how to change the airco to more warm air. I would have appreciated knowing that I could check out up to 5pm on Sunday: I accidentally found this out
Exactly what I wanted for a short overnight stay. I arrived at midnight and was checked in promptly (note - the car park isn't immediately obvious at first sight - you have to drive up on to what looks like a pedestrian zone). Very comfortable bed, quiet room despite being next to the lift. And it was astonishing value for money (only paid about 70 euros plus the car park). I didn't try the breakfast as had to leave in the morning. Nothing.
Staff where friendly and excellent. Internet access was fast and a reasonable charge. Rooms although next to railway line are well sound insulated. Breakfast very expensive. Room could have been cleaner with old sweet wrapper in wardrobe clearly on view.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the hotel staff
The staff was very helpful, especially Dave the restaurant and beverage manager. He spoke very good english and made our stay there very enjoyable. The restaurant servers were also excellent and spent time to get to know us. It was a wonderful experience and wish we could have stayed longer.
Excellent choices for breakfast The wallpaper in the room! Terracotta _ very overpowering
Location ...easy walk to station and train ride to amsterdam. New addition very contemporary, spacious and luxurious. Breakfast was exceptional. The only complaint was the lack of electrical outlet in bathroom.
The Reception staff were all friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were comfortable. We only spent two nights and there was nothing that we did not like.
Good hotel , good surroundings and conveniently situated.
Good location and facilities, wonderful breakfast and spacious room Lack of tea and coffee making facilities in room
The staff were extremely helpful in solving a problem with the room that we had originally booked.
Very silent. Good service. Top class in its class
Wonderful stay. We only spent there one night, but the room was very spacious and clean; beds (twin bed room) - very comfortable. A special word is worth saying about the rich and manyfold breakfast served in a very stylish room. We arrived late in the evening and could not find a way to close the window 100% - there was about half cm of "ventillation". Therefore in the room it was rather fresh, but the blamkets wer warm so ok.
The staff was obliging. Everything was functioning in a logic way. Free Internet.
The country side, the customer service of your staff members. No
Greate atmosphere, large and nice room (triple room), well located, large grass garden at the back
the architecture of the hall/restaurant restaurant closed on a sunday at 9.15 pm
Cleanliness, free internet use, size of the room, pretty view. Location was a little far from city centre.
The food was excellent and the service was good. For a 4 star hotel I thought the standard room was kind of very very very standard. No mini bar, an old big tv instead of flatscreen, no free wifi, plastic throw away glasses (2) absolutely no extra's.
Very good service and nice people not in town center
nice lounge and fantastic breakfast, very good price for value no airco in room
It is very quiet and the rooms are very large. The breakfast buffet is very good. No toilet brush. No ash trays on the balcony. The internet is very expensive.
Room space, wonderful breakfast, quiet place No
Room quite large. Both tube and shower in the room. Limited TV channes choice. View from window (terrace with other rooms ...)
The friendliness and good service off all staff and the quality of restaurant meals
big rooms and very large beds!!!!! sportarea is missing
elegant, spacious clean room . too close to the road for the luxury room. The restaurant staff not organized and slow, we never been in a Van der Valk before with so poor staff for the restaurant.(exception the reception, helpfull)
The hotel was fantastic and made our stay very enjoyable. One of the receptionists went out of his way to give us local information and even checked some details for us on the internet. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, whether it was the hot food or the cold, the selection was second to none. The views from our room were lovely as well, very relaxing. The only problem we encountered was that when we arrived at the hotel it was dark and very wet. We struggled to find the hotel entrance and because all the rooms have balconies we thought that it was an apartment block not a hotel. So perhaps some clearer signage would be good?
everything, including a great variety offered for breakfast!
We are frequent visitors to Holland and this was one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at. No complaints whatsoever.
Room was spacious and clean
Nice modern design, clean and very friendly staff
the modern design of the hotel makes the stay excellent.
The personnel on reception is very helpful. Breakfast is OK (the view from the breakfast room is very pleasant). The floor in rooms and coridors is awful - like on the parking: it's a poured floor which produces great noises. When the guests in the next rooms come - the impossible noise is in all your room around. Every step is like a fall of hammer. The design of the room is also more than disputable - the open bath without any walls is in the center of the room. So no privacy and high humidity in the room are guaranteed. They have bath and WC with the common door (very noisy and no privacy). Roommate entered the room with "Do not disturb" sign on the door. In this moment my hisband was in this OPEN bath. The only brasserie near the hotel is awful - meals are too "fine dining" - they cooked 2 dishes 2,5 hours and they have not been tasty at all.
Good restaurant in the grounds of the hotel. Rather bleak, functional, minimalist style, lacking atmosphere, smart design being more important than comfort in this hotel. Breakfast not included and expensive, so breakfasted elsewhere.
Free internet good speed. Stylish hotel room for single use. Instant coffee is not expected in a 4 star hotel
Very nice location. Quiet environment. Modern and unique design. Very good restaurant nearby (De Halle Bloom?) with quality food and service. Room wasn't spotlessy clean. Bed had probably been used for a nap. One of the pillows was dirty. I thought flooring wasn't consistent with quality standard of other building material of the hotel, but that's probably personal taste. Minimal service of the staff for breakfast.
Perfect diner - open kitchen. Nice location. Modern looks. It was difficult to find. Not close to the highway.
a great room with a twist
The hotel is in a very quiet place, overall was very clean. The wellness area is not to be considered a real wellness area, it's very basic and not cozy at all. There is no atmosphere in this hotel and I was very disappointed. You walk in the sauna area on a concrete floor, they could make a nice floor out of wood or something nice were to walk. The room was cold, it took 6 hours to get warm. The location is in the middle of nowhere, I still don't understand what is the purpose of this hotel: weekend, relax? Not a cozy place to spend a weekend!
The staff is very friendly. The hotel is bright new. The decoration is simple design, very relaxing. The situation is nice, in a middle of the fields and forest. Very calm. The room is clean and comfortable. Nothing.
Quietness, but still good location. Evening buffet very good if not so cheap. Hairdryer not in room, can ask at reception though. Evening buffet finishes early.
Location was just perfect for us. Free use of internet. Clean rooms with adequate furnishing. Free parking. Bicycle rental at EUR 8.50 a day. Safe in each room. The one window in the room opens just a crack. The safe in our room didn’t work for 4 days, but we were offered another room with a working safe. There is a printing service at the reception but when I wanted to use it, I was informed that for some technical reason printing was not possible. Breakfast is plenty but the variety of cheese (in the Netherlands!), yoghurt and cold cuts is poor.
Bergse Bossen is a nice and clean hotel with friendly staff. It's close to Utrecht so you can easily avoid traffic jams. WiFi inside the hotel is good. However on the terrace theire's no wireless internet connection possible.
Nice quiet location near wooded area Hotel did not have any tea making facilities in room
no information that the hotel is only accessable via a 5km detour due to road works
Very clean rooms, pleasant staff, nice rural location, good Wi-Fi Duvet cover way too thin. Very disturbed sleep and was awakened many timess through cold (it was only September). No ability to regulate temperature in room.
Quite location, non-smoking rooms only. Only very small "finding": restaurant offers buffet dinner only (but a very good one, for 24,80 Euro).
close to the woods & all on one level The restaurant closed at 8pm
Clean Hotel Beautiful Location Walls are paper thin can hear the people next door talk and what they say
The staff was wonderful and the bungalow we stayed in was very clean. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices including cold cuts, eggs, cereal, yogurt, and many types of bread. We had the buffet dinner one night during our stay, and it was also very good. If you want to hike or bike, this is a great place. There is nothing that we did not like, but be advised that the hotel is about an hour from Amsterdam. We chose it because we also wanted to visit the Kröller-Müller Museum in the Hoge Veluwe National Park in Otterlo. The hotel is only about a 20 minute drive to this museum.
A good location in the centre of Amersfoort and close to the shops. The staff and helpful and friendly and the room was very clean. The curtains are a bit thin and let in alot of light.
Good city centre location with easy parking (fee) nearby. Hotel has lots of character with nice little garden with excellent Dutch breakfast. No
The website could be clearer about the parking arrangements, eg which carpark to use. The carpark to use is the one of theatre Flint and then a few minutes walk.
good, clean rooms. Nice bathroom was a plus Couldn't pay with american express
Close to city center. Basic room facilities was missing in the room like; soap and big body towel.
room was clean and staff friendly, quite comfortable steep stairs to room ok for weekend
The breakfast was very good : original and wide choice Normally i always have very good experiences with Booking.com. this hotel does not belong in the list : a had a student room, cold floor (ony tiles), no blankets, shower space not clean, list of drinks but no drinks, and so on. worthless
Wonderful position in the charming old town of Amersfoort. Walk to all the sights and restaurants. Unable to get into our room until 3.30pm but were given cool drinks in the pleasant back garden.
The staff were very friendly and the room i had was one of the most characterful i have ever had (the building was once a tobacco factory). the location was excellent being in the old part of town and was very quiet. the lack of a buffet breakfast, you are given a breakfast and that is it. a buffet breakfast would greatly enhance any stay at this hotel.
The service was good. The location is excellent, next to the city center. The space in the hotel room was "modest".
Hotel staff at reception Cleaniness - heating did not work
Nice environment (in National Park Utrechtse Heuvelrug is), value for money. Good overall facilities. The Internet WIFI connection was not working in my room, had to go and sit near the reception to get some access. Very small television set in the room. Isolation between rooms could be improved.
Beautiful quiet place, good breakfast, computer and printer in the lobby Poor wifi connection - did not work in the room.
the staff are welcoming and helpful breakfast offering is weak
Free internet access next to reception. The room was small but comfortable, fine for a single room. Breakfast had a good selection and the main course dinner was very tasty. The check In and check Out process was extremely slow, had to wait over 15 mins each time. Check out almost made me late for my meeting.
Staff were friendly and helpful; free WiFi was very appreciated The hotel advertises as a business hotel, but this is ambitious - it felt more like summer camp. Concrete block walls, bad art and cramped rooms with horrible Ikea color schemes is more accurate. The rooms were perfectly adequate and clean, but not worth the price.
Pretty efficient and to the point. Breakfast was also good, considering the price I paid. Surroundings were/are really beautiful. The rooms are rather small. There is not really a good place to put up your suit case
Clean room, friendly staff, calm environment. Despite the very hot day, the hotel as well as the room were reasonably cool
Functional, value for money, good breakfast, free parking Poor WiFi connection.
great staff; comfy bed not keen on location - a little out of the way
Good value for money - breakfast ok - good room - easy to find - open reception at night none
Perfect location at the A1, but still very quiet. In the centre of the Netherlands close to Amsterdam, Utrecht and Amersfoort and with perfect highways in all directions. Good wifi connection. Pleasant restaurant with terrace. Good breakfast buffet. Will defenitely book this hotel again!
the Location was the bet the atmosphere in the hotel, more lick budget hotel
Price, location, double bed, seperate bedroom door I could not place my suitcase on a stand. There was a problem with the drains that caused a bad localised smell.
Friendly and helpful staff The overall ambience of the hotel was cheap- rooms with plastic cups etc
The staff was very friendly. The room wasn't clean at all.
Ease of check-in, location was near highway, very clean, free and fast wireless.
room had bad maintenance and rate of equipment is much below 3 stars
We were extremely comfortable, and would like to stay there again in the future.
Heard from the 2 guests that the room was not really clean, there was a lot of noise.
Good breakfast and comfortable room. Friendly staff. Our room was at the front of the hotel and very noisy due to the traffic. Did quiet now in the night but started up very early.
friendly staff and excellent food
separate dining room for no smokers far enough away from smokers in the bathroom there was no socket for an lectric shaver
As expected the room was small but still very nice. The management went above and beyond, helping us find the parking, making resturant recommendations and generally being helpful. The room as small as expected and the elevator was small and slow but you have to expect these things in older buildings in Europe.
Great location- right on the square. Friendly staff
Soundproofed rooms I think, was pretty quiet. Overlooked a fab square with really fantastic restaurants and lovely shopping street nearby. In the centre of the historical city of Amersfoort no help to bring bag up stairs!
A simple and clean hotel with nice staff, located in the historical centre of Amersfoort.
Clean and comfortable, friendly and helpfull staff.Good location apart from noise problem related to ground floor bar. Problem with noise from rowdy crowds in front of bar / hotel - would only use this hotel again if able to be accomodated in room at rear.
