Nicely updated hotel.x Friendly and helpful staff. Great value for money. Not sure if its a 2 or 3 star. Room was very warm though and road noise high. They need to buy new towels.
Food excellent. Nice terrace area. Staff very friendly. Bed a little uncomfortable.
The swimming pool The room we were given had one small window which could noly be opened about 10cm. The weather was hot and no fans were provided. The room had lots of cobwebs and could have done with a good clean and a shower curtain
swimming pool - though it was a bit cold. And the restaurant dinner was excellent and very good value. A bit gloomy, and the room was rather basic. The whole place had a 'down-market' feel, but we only stayed one night so it didn't really matter.
Friendly, helpful staff; good regional food, clean and comfortable rooms and a decent swimming pool It would have been even better (and cheaper) had a family room been avilable.
Super food and good value too !
Comfortable room, convenient location close to La Plagne ski resort (20 km), good value for the money
Convenient for many of the top ski areas and well placed for many other mountain activities. Pleasant restaurant with good aambience and good food. Bar is not very inviting, hardly ever manned. Only a couple of other places to eat or drink within easy walk of the hotel
Great Hotel. Very clean, confortable and smell free. The reception staff in particular were extremely helpful and friendly and helped to make the stay very pleasurable.
It was easily found, ideally located and had a perfect combination of room types for our group. There was a smell of cigarette smoke in the room, though this is almost expected of hotels in France.
I liked the very Alpine wooden decoration and design. I thought the food was excellent. The receptionists were very helpful. The bedroom was not large but was well equiped and everything worked. It was quite far from the restaurants and bars in the centre of Belle Plagne.
Excellent buffet breakfast Wonderful views of slopes and mountains Good leisure facilities (ie pool, sauna, etc) Very slow service in restaurant Limited menu choices in evening
This hotel was very expensive for a poor quality hotel. The room was small and pokey, the towels were tiny and rough like dishcloths, the bath was so small you could not lie down without your knees touching your chin, the 'whirlpool bath' button did not work, we had to pay extra for the parking even though we had already paid an exorbitant price for the hotel.
The location for a skiing holiday was perfect however not much else in the area. The reception area was very darkly decorated and not very welcoming as a first impression and restaurant staff were very straight faced and not very freindly, hard to approach and made a few mistakes with the billing overcharging by quite a significant ammount.
The meals on half board were excellent. The staff were attentive. The double bed was two singles pushed together which was unconfortable because they were made up separately with two single duvets - a large bottom sheet and a larger duvet is needed. The room was far too hot during the first two nights of our stay.
It was very well situated for access to the ski slopes. The room - a family room was lovely both in decor and size and both my girls actually got real beds - not sofa beds as is the norm! The food was very good but was detracted from by the poor quality of crockery - every meal we picked up something that hadn't been washed properly . It was advertised as a Spa hotel and this is the main reason we chose it. The spa bit was very small and we were asked to wear a bathing costume at all times even in the sauna!!Despite a long list of regulations, for use of the Sauna including no - one under 17 (I paid full price for my eldest daughter but she was not allowed to use these facilities - this was th first thing they told us on arrival but I do not think it is on their web) , they did not remind guests to take a towel into the Sauna which meant that people sat there sweating all over the wood. This is so yukky that neither my husband or I could face using the Sauna. Either the French have different standards of hygiene or the hotel are not 'au fait' with how to use a Sauna.
Staff very friendly, close to the slopes and ski school meeting place. choice of evening meal
Location. Certainly not 4 stars.
location is spectacular, staff friendly and helpful.
Good location, room fine Young staff who didn't make much of an effort to help...had skis stolen from inside the hotel and delayed luggage sent to the hotel by the airline was never given to me even though I told them that I was epecting it.
Good lcoation to Tdf cycling. Excellent service from hotel staff to staff in surrounding hotels.
Its location. The ski resort No
We've got a room with a good view for free (since the room was available and though it was a more expensive room). There is a nice restaurant just in the hotel with a beautiful view on mountains. No free sockets at all. We've had to turn off a tv set to charge a mobile.
The food was excellent and we could eat outside with a waiter who was willing to speak french to us Americans who are trying our best to learn.
very relaxed staff pleasant and helpful have stayed here summer and winter love it a little more choice on half board menu
Everything was great! Excellent hotel and beautiful little city in the midle of the mountains!
Views, peaceful, excellent food - and no doubt the pool would have been nice if the weather had been warmer
Location Breakfast was not good value for money.
The food was excellent, very nice restaurant with friendly staff. Rooms were very clean and kept up each day quickly and without interference with our comings and goings. The pool and facilities were enjoyed, and the view and location is fantastic! The hotel had internet access, but we found it only worked in the lobby area, the signal was not strong enough in the room.
Very friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, willing to take bookings less than 7 days (very rare in French alps).
A tranquil environment, splendid scenery & view inspiring to rest recover from our abundantly noisy and continuously overspeeding world Although the breakfast was good the "croisants" a pecularity of French Breakfast was not that great. The noice isolation between rooms is off a somewhat lesser quality. Smoking on neighbour Balcony causes cigarette smoke to enter with the fresh air in the next door room, an unfortunate and irritating aspect.
The proximity to the ski lift and to a handful of good restaurants and bars in the village of Champagny. The cost to stay was favourable compared to other ski resorts I have visited. Mr 'Glieres' was very friendly and made for a pleasant stay. We were also allowed to check out late which was kind. The church bells started at 6am, every single morning - not something the owners of the hotel have any influence over I'm sure!!! I paid for parking for 3 days (which was strongly recommended - end March) when there was really no need - although I accept that during high ski season that may have been a different story. I would also have liked an option of a cooked breakfast. Additionally, the bar in the hotel closed early on the Sunday, when we would have liked to have relaxed with a drink in the sitting room.
very warmly welcome, helpfull staff, great food, you just fell like in yours own home, amazing and nice place to be,ill recommend this place to my family and all place,i wish to back there in next year
Very convenient location to La Plagne ski resort by taking the telecabin that is only 100 meters behind the hotel.Great value if comparing with hotels in La plagne central town. The host and hostree are very helpful. the rooms are clean enough. I reget I did not notice the hotel earlier otherwise I would had satyed there for longer time to appreciate the eniornment and enjoy the fun of skiing. if I have chance, I would go there again. for sure I will stay again at this lovely hotel. Probably due to many guests taking bath in the evening, when I wanted to take a bath three was already no hot water.
next to the gondola very small room, 4 days the same towels and sheet ..
A very enjoyable stay. The rooms are basic and compact but immaculate, and entirely sufficient for our needs in a short stay for a ski-ing weekend. The restaurant is quite excellent - the menu is not extensive but the quality is excellent, as is the wine list. Above all, the attitude of the owners makes for a most enjoyable stay - warm, co-operative and sollicitous. Excellent value!
Fantastic food and most welcoming owners and staff Non
We liked the staff who greeted us with the smile on the faces. From the first minute we felt as if we stayed at our friends' house. We liked the restaurant very much especially fondue and desserts. Also we liked the fireplace in the hall. Thus, as a result we relaxed and got max positive emotions while staying there. We liked everything except the road to Champagny. It was very serpentinous and icy.
I like the appartment and view. There is not lift.
The room was very clean and well equipped, and good value for money. Although check in was 5pm, we arrived early (I had emailed the hotel ahead to inform them but did not receive a reply) and the hotel kindly sent me a text message when the room was ready which was 5 hours earlier which was much appreciated. The staff were polite and friendly but at first they could not find my booking although I had already given my email confirmation to another member of staff while I waited for the room to be prepared. The staff also did not give much information about the hotel, the games room, restaurant/bar etc.
There is a nice swiming-pool many
Great location within 2 mins walk of the slopes and adjacent to the ski shop, lift pass outlet, restaurant and shop. Basic but well presented self catering accomodation. This is the second time I have used Maeva Plagne Lauze and would certainly do so again.
appartment was well presented, tidy and batroom up to date having to pick up linen. Not aware that I needed to bring towels. Hire towels were expensive and paper thin.
Good clean accommodation with good facilities Nothing to dislike!
The location near the ski lifts and the supermarket, the quiteness of the small village You have to prepare the beds yourself upon arrival, pay for the towels (8 euros/person) and pay for the cleaning at the end (35 euros)
Clean, quiet and very convenient for the ski slopes.
Very accomodating and helpful owners make you feel really welcome
Newly redone, on the main road, friendly staff, very good quality breakfast (all organic), quiet settings not far from Bourg St Maurice. No sign on the building, stuck between the mountain and another building, forget about the view from your room. There is no restaurant, maybe a dish is proposed on high season. This is not a hotel, but rather a good quality "gite", the French way.
The communal meals offered an opportunity to meet and talk with people from different countries.
Great spot surrounded by mountains. We loved the house, really different from the usual tacky hotel décor you seem to get in the Alps. Massive rooms with an alpine feel, very Country Living. Beautiful views of the mountains and river from our room. I’d read the reviews before booking and was a bit worried, but although there was a building opposite, it didn't block our view at all. The house is higher anyway, so it wasn't really a problem. Excellent service, really friendly and helpful staff and they did a great breakfast – set us up nicely for the next stage of the GR5! We’re thinking about going back again in the winter – they run it as a catered ski chalet as well as a B&B Dinner was delicious. They use organic ingredients and make everything from scratch. However, they only offer table d'hotes at the weekends in the off season and you have to book in advance. It's not very clear from the website.
The building has an unusual layout and has been restored well. We were well looked after and had a very good buffet breakfast. It is located in the village and close to a hotel and cafe. No
