Pros: 3* hotel with 5* furnishing, services and comfort. And the infinitive kindness and professionalism of Alexandra and Paolo.
Cons: The hotel is situated directly between a little train stop and a bell tower. However there is no train between 22h and 6h, you can still hear the bells in every hour.
Pros: A great little place that always delivers comfort, value for money with great personal service.
Pros: Great location, friendly staff. Unique. The owners were very nice with our kids.
Pros: Beat all my expectations. Very friendly and helpful owners. A dream breakfast.

Pros: Very nice small hotel, quite location, very good breakfast and close to several very good restaurants.
Cons: Breakfast in the garage. Bad service at breakfast, the lady was hardly available. But if the weather is nice, great to eat outside in the garden.
Pros: Our hosts Rita and Giuseppe were so friendly and helpful, the rooms so clean and as for the breakfasts - wow what a lovely choice!
Pros: The host was really nice, the bed was very comfortable, plenty of green space where our dog could play. It was close to town but also in a quiet area.
Pros: Comfortable bed, Nice breakfast, very generous and kind hosting.
Pros: Family style, good service, nice surroundings
Pros: Very friendly owner of the hotel. Nice garden with cosy candle lights in the evening. But for us the highlight was the ‘river’ beach at two minutes walk. At the foot of a 20 m waterfall multiple swimming basins are formed with sandy ‘beaches’. Great to cool down at a sunny day. Also multiple nice restaurants closeby.

Pros: Great location near the river gorges and excellent walking/climbing trails. Restaurant from the hotel is very good.
Cons: Too much traffic noise - no airco so windows must be open.

Pros: The staff were welcoming and helpful.
Pros: Great location for climbing. The owner and the staff were extremely friendly, even offered a place to shower after were had checked out. Small but clean and well equipped rooms. Wonderful food, adventurous yet grounded in Ticinese cuisine. We will come back.
Pros: Very friendly staff and good food. Splendid spot for taking a swimm in the Maggia just around the corner and still close to Locarno. The free option to get a Ticino Ticket for public transport is a great offer. All together we've had a very pleasant stay.
Cons: Public transport connections are a bit random, but convenient to reach Locarno.
The Casa Ambica can be found in the scenic, historic centre of Gordevio, a 10-minute drive from Locarno and Ascona. It has a quiet garden and offers free Wi-Fi and free parking. Built around 1800, the Casa Ambica houses en-suite rooms with custom-made chestnut-wood beds, flat-screen TVs and tea/coffee makers. The valley of the Maggia river offer many places for bathing and lots of hiking paths, like the Sentieri di Pietra. The Gerre golf course in Losone is only 5 km away.
Pros: Casa Ambica is a beautiful small hotel with perfect atmosphere if you would like a quiet town removed from the busier Locarno. It is spotlessly clean, the owners are lovely, and the breakfast is very nice with local products. The town is nice to take a walk around and venture up the nearby hiking trails for a big hike or a nice morning walk. This hotel is the definition of charming and has great decorations/ interior design. For a good restaurant nearby - grotto America is ten minutes drive away.
Cons: Remember to take bug spray with you as there are mosquitoes in the area. Also note the church bells ring at 7am but not for long.

The house features wooden, simple décor and a restaurant with an international menu, also serving vegetarian cuisine. The rooms also offer a telephone and a hairdryer and some come with a private bathroom. A grocery store can be found in Maggia, 5 km away. The Maggia river and many hiking tracks are nearby. The centre of Coglio is 300 metres away and Locarno is 15 km from the property.
Pros: The room is clean and the terrace has a great view on the surrounding mountains. The restaurant offers a number of bio/wines and great food.
Cons: The price of 200 francs/night for a double room with breakfast is in my opinion not good value. A price of 140 francs or so would be more reasonable given that the room is clean but quite basic and does not contain any TV/radio. Overall i am very happy with our stay only the price point is not good value for money.

The indoor restaurant is decorated in a farm style with tiled floors, a fireplace and wooden furniture. With free parking, this pension is situated 10 km from Locarno. The Centovalli Train Station is only 150 metres away.
Pros: The owner was absolutely lovely. She asked whether we need a bed for our baby just a couple of minutes after we had booked the room, during our stay we could use the kitchen and she even offered us to stay another night for free (we weren't able to go to a concert because the baby wasn't well, so we gave her our tickets)...
Cons: Unfortunately we had to shut the windows during the night, the traffic on the main street was rather loud.
Pros: Perfect location with beautiful scenery surrounding the accommodation, facilities were more than suitable and hosts were very accommodating. I would definitely and look forward to staying again.
Cons: Rooms were very basic but never spent much time in it so perfect for use.
Pros: The location was good, everything woorked perfectly.
Pros: Very quiet at night, everything clean and new, lovely setting.
Cons: No place to hang up clothes - needs a clothes rack of some sort. I didn’t like being asked for a cash payment when that wasn’t mentioned on Booking.com.
Pros: Beautiful architecture and a spectacular view while having dinner! The beds are very comfy!
Cons: We had room number 5. There is a door to a bathroom, which can be used only by the neighbour. The isolation of this door is very poor. You can hear every drop of water and ... . We were unlucky with our loud neighbours and their dog.
Pros: lovely rustico in the maggiatal! good starting point for hiking. one grotto restaurant in 5min walking distance, other two in 10min walking distance. very quiet, clean and a nice view. we will be back soon!
Pros: Loved the stay. It was so peaceful and characteristic. The view from the balcony is stunning, the bedroom was supernice. We could easily find parking. Perfect for a couple. I will definitely go back!!!
Cons: Communication could be better. We didn’t get the code to enter the apt and when we got there, we were lucky cos there were other guests entering, that helped us out finding the code to grab the key. We had no phone reception in Switzerland so it would have been hard otherwise. There could have been more amenities like at least a shampoo in the bathroom. There was just hand soap. And a little booklet with activities / POI / favourite restaurants around would be great. We would have loved to have some local’s advice. Since it is a self check- in out system, maybe think about leaving something written ;)
When you stay at Hotel Garni Maggia in Maggia, you'll be 6 minutes by car from Parco Nazionale del Locarnese. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
Pros: Fillipo the proprietor went out of his way to make me feel at home. This is a beautiful bed and breakfast place in a stunning location. The hotel is so clean and comfortable and very very good for the price. Thankyou Fillipo!!!
Cons: I loved everything!! I will come again soon!
Pros: Clean, informal and relaxed.
Pros: Very welcoming host. Everything was very clean and the bed was comfy. The hostel is in a traditional village where everything feels very authentic and natural.
Pros: Very warm welcome in a beautiful family home. Cleanliness impeccable as was comfort. Beautiful surroundings.
Cons: I loved everything!
Pros: Staff very nice and attentive. Breakfast was very good.
Pros: Large Terrasse.
Cons: We were expecting a hotel, but unfortunately it was similar to a youth hostel. Not for a couple seeking a romantic weekend getaway... Having to share bathroom facilities - shower / toilet, etc.... plus the room looked like someones old attic... Horrible design,
Pros: The cosy, spotless room, the playroom for kids, the nice garden and the beautiful, serene surroundings
Cons: It would have been nice if there was a couch to relax in the public space and/or a covered area in the garden to sit while its raining
Pros: The location and the old house as such and the breakfast room with the gas oven.
Cons: Just one bathroom to share for all rooms without own ensuite bathroom is not enough.
Pros: Nice rooms, location, garden to sit, good breakfast, restaurant in the village.

Pros: well equipped kitchen, beautiful surroundings
Pros: Nicely located in the beautiful Maggia Valley with lots of hiking choices around. Well equipped kitchen and nice garden to sit.
Cons: A church with bells next door (common thing in Switzerland), but with earplugs I had a good night sleep.
Pros: The best hostel I've ever been in! There is a well equiped kitchen, and the herb garden for guests was a really nice touch :) Everything is thought through and well organised. The owners are such lovely people! Monica recommended us some stuff do to in the area - her husband painted a perfectly accurate map of the area with all the beautiful places worth visiting. Thanks to this we dicovered an amazing waterfall where you can swim. The surrounding is just stunning. I'm so glad me and my friend stayed at this beautiful place!

Pros: Very nice place with pleasant informal atmosphere and a friendly owner and his wife. Great location with optional terrace for dinner in a quiet setting. Excellent restaurant with original meals of high quality.
Cons: This is not a hotel but more of a lodge, which we knew beforehand and had no problem with.
Pros: I booked this accommodation for my parents in law as I'm originally from the town where the hotel is located. I knew that it was a very lovely place to stay and also many friends and locals recommended this accommodation. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. My in law enjoyed their stay and wouldn't hesitate staying there again. Breakfast was good!
Cons: The toilet is shared, but they knew that in advance and it is not a problem for them. I mention it here just because it may be a negative point for others.
Pros: very smart looking building in a beautiful tiny mountain village with special atmosphere and surrounding; nice garden restaurant with good kitchen run together with the hostel; friendly and helpful owner; nice renovated bathrooms
Cons: our room was a bit small for three persons (with an installed extra bed); the noise of the restaurant at late night was too much
Located in Brione sopra Minusio, Garten Hotel Dellavalle is a 5-minute drive from Casino Locarno and 6 minutes from Pinacoteca Comunale Casa Rusca. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
Pros: Sauna room
Cons: Too pricey. But ok compares to other hotel in Locarno.
Pros: We stayed two nights- The room was very nice and homely with superb views - the restaurant was excellent both à la Carte and the extensive evening Menu suggestion. Finally all the hotel staff were really friendly and enhanced the stay.
Cons: No complaints!
Pros: Outstanding views and lovely village centre nearby with restaurants and bars. The hotel's outdoor terrace is very nice (great for enjoying a meal or drink with the views) and the grotto restaurant downstairs is fun.
Cons: It is located well away from the centre and up a substantial hill - of course this contributes to its great views and the lovely village centre nearby. This does mean it is more effort to get to/from Locarno centre, but busses 312 and 2 operate that route (maybe 10-15 minutes from Locarno station) and the hotel has a van. If the short bus journey is not an issue for you it is well worth it to stay at the hotel.
Pros: The view from the terrace at the main building
Cons: Tiny room and staying in the annex rather than the main hotel.
Overlooking the surrounding mountains, Ai piee offers quiet rooms and a restaurant in the scenic Verzasca Valley. A river runs by the house which you can swim in. Free public WiFi and free parking are available. In addition to mountain views, rooms are equipped with satellite TV. Private bathrooms come with a shower. International food is served at the restaurant and can be enjoyed out on the terrace in good weather. The traditional stone village of Sonogno and picturesque Lavertezzo can be reached by car in 15 minutes. Vogorno is a 25-minute drive away.
Pros: The staff and owner of the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Plus points for coffee, tea and other snacks at the reception. The rooms are very modern, clean and comfortable. We had a room by the street and slept with an open window, we did not find the street particularly disturbing. All in all we felt very welcomed and had a relaxing and nice stay.
Cons: We had to get used to the glass doors in the bathroom, not everyone would feel comfortable with it. However, there's an extra toilet in the hall.
Pros: Location and staff
Pros: The breakfast was expensive at CHF15 as it was very basic with limited choices. The beds are very hard and the rooms are small but nicely decorated. We loved the large shower and the stone inlay in the bathrooms. Not much cupboard space and the road can be noisy.
Cons: The beds are too hard for my liking and breakfast too expensive.
Pros: Very comfortable room in amazing location.
Cons: Glass doors to bathroom not great. Breakfast basic for 15chf.
Pros: Nice building well renovated.
Pros: Staff super helpful Clean beautiful room with great shower Balcony looking onto the river All beautiful
Cons: Accessing healthy vegetarian and vegan food quite diffucult. However this is typical for this Switzerland. Certainly not a reason to tarnish this great hotel.
Pros: Bed very comfy, very clean and friendly staff

Guests can find a bank, post office and several shops in the immediate vicinity, and Maggia Centro Bus Station is 100 metres away from the house. Hiking trails are nearby. Locarno is 13 km away and the distance to Bosco Gurin ski station is 27 km.
Pros: They even made me vegan breakfast!
Pros: The dinner was delicious, and just for that it was worth walking the extra kilometres to get to Maggia at the end of my hike. On top of it, the hosts were charming and I felt welcome and cared for from the moment I arrived all drenched and muddy from hiking in the rain until I left the morning after. I will definitely stay there again if I am in Maggia in the future!
Cons: Nothing. The room was simple but clean and comfortable, with everything that one needs from a hotel room. The bathroom was small, but clean and functional. There was no unnecessary luxury, but a comfortable bed, clean sheets, hot water with good water pressure and fresh towels was all I needed and I got exactly that, in addition to great food and fantastic service.
Pros: A very welcoming place in the center of the small village of Maggia.
Pros: Very friendly. Great food and location in the heart of old Maggia. Lovely Breakfast. Recommended.
Pros: The charm of the location, the simplicity but also coziness of the place
Cons: To be charged an extra 60.- for an additional bed...

Pros: Perfect location in the middle of town, staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Room was nice with a great view. The food was delicious, highly recommend.
Pros: Excellent location, comfortable and very clean room. Gorgeous view from room in second floor. Good breakfast. Nice stuff.
Pros: Excellent rooms for this price. Very quiet during night. We expected more noise, because there is railway and streets.
Pros: Super location (close to bus stop and train stop) if used as a stop for going elsewhere. Staff helpful. Good prices. Close to four good restaurants.
Cons: Ponte Brolla (the village, not the hotel) has really nothing besides the aforementioned restaurants and is awkward to walk around due to the train tracks and traffic - stay somewhere else if you desire something to do in the evenings besides resting at the hotel.
Pros: Clean, next to the river "Maggia", beautiful, realy friendly staff, super local food, price was appropriate.

Pros: Staff very kind and helpful, Hotel looks really good, rooms in the hotel are very elegant, the garden with patio is lovely.Good Breakfast with lot of fruits and local cheese.
Cons: We stayed in the depandance, a small house in the car park. a bit noisy because is next the main road. It was very hot the first day we arrived and we had to keep the door open that was just facing the car park, not nice at all! the room was full of cobweb we removed them from the corners over the bunk bed and asked the morning after to clean, but there was a lot of dust left.
