Pros: The position of the hotel and the friendly staff.
Cons: The late check-out was not offered
Pros: The restaurant is very good. Fish and italian food with some nice recipies. The room was very confortable with a good veranda
Cons: It would be nice to have a light in the working table
Pros: Room was good and clean. Airco perfect. Staff very friendly. Overall very good quality.
Cons: Everything exluced VAT etc. also in restaurant. Limited facilities(no watercooking etc)
Pros: The breakfast and the restaurant
Pros: We visited 3 hotels in Maio. We chose Big Game for the reviews it had. We were a bit disappointed though cause the others were a better value for money. Although, need to say: - rooms are clean - breakfast is very good, especially if you like homemade pastries and good coffee - very good wifi connection
Cons: - check-out was at 10.00am even though our shuttle to the airport was one hour later. - they don’t provide towels for the beach - rooms are very small - view is from balcony is not very nice
Pros: It’s a nice place to stay because it’s in the small city of the island and you always have where to eat or have a drink. They also rent quads which is dddeginitky the best way to know the island
Cons: The food is bad... dinners and breakfast. Sometimes to offer a nice breakfast you don’t need much, just fresh juice or a focaccia if they are Italians and know how’s to do it. And the bed, really impossible to accept a bed like that in an hotel. And the place was not clean, the smell of the towels...

Pros: Very friendly and helpful owner. She was very kind when my ferry had a huge delay and let me stay until late at night - thank you! Spacious room, nice terraces. Fridge in the common space. Excellent location, close to everything in Maio.
Cons: Not a big deal, but a change of bed sheets and pillow cases would have been nice, as I stayed almost two weeks. And a fresh towel, maybe automatically after some days?
Pros: Everything perfect, cozy, huge, very clean rooms, big bathroom with hot water, nice terrace, great value for money ! The owners are amazing, very helpful and sweet. They went out of their way to help me ! Thanks a lot !!!
Pros: simple room with good enough comfort in a very good central location in beautiful Maio
Cons: the attendant lady (I do not think it was the owner) was not very social and she seemed even upset when we asked a couple of questions. we paid one day before departure and that coincided with the moment when the room was not serviced anymore.. Not a big deal but I would advise to pay only the last day in order to make sure that service is done.
Pros: Great location and Caroline was a great host.
Barracudamaio features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Morro. All units comprise a seating area, a dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen with various cooking facilities, including a fridge, an oven and a stovetop. Guests at the aparthotel can enjoy a continental breakfast. Barracudamaio offers a sun terrace. There is a garden with a barbecue at this property and guests can go snorkelling and cycling nearby.
Pros: Christophe and Mona are superb hosts. They collected us at the airport, brought us to Vila to pick up snacks for our room, and insisted on giving us sun screen to replace a confiscated tube, even before we "arrived". By the second day we felt more like we were visiting friends than being clients. They welcomed us into their lives. Our week with them ended far too quickly. Do run/walk the beach from barracuda to Vila. Do borrow the bikes to explore. Do have dinner with them. They can deal with allergies, if you have them. The dinners are wonderful events and not just meals. Starting often with cocktails and darts or boules before, through to home made ice cream or cake for dessert - under the stars. You might get to eat fish caught with them on the beach earlier in the day. They even bake their own bread. Those from the wood oven are the best!
Cons: While we enjoyed our breakfasts and consumed every speck (homemade bread and homemade jams, with juice and great coffee) if you are staying for several days some variety would be nice.
Pros: Mona and Christophe are very nice people and hence the perfect hosts. They made every part of our stay enjoyable from picking us up at the airport - to accommodating us for an extra day when our flight was delayed. We only had to walk a couple of hundred meters to a long and completely deserted beach which provided us with the perfect place to relax and unwind. Mona delivered breakfast and an evening meal to our terrace, which was delicious! Since it was the xmas season we also joined them for a bit of a festive celebration which was most enjoyable. We wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the fishing opportunities!
Pros: Everything! The hosts were so friendly and accommodating; went out of their way to make my stay amazing! The accommodation was 2nd to none. Loved everything! Encouraged me to plan to return one day. The island was very friendly and quiet, perfect place to get away; miles and miles of pristine deserted beaches (except for goats/pigs/cattle/donkeys and loads of bird life)....simply wow!
Cons: Didn’t have a return flight/boat booked, so had to stay a bit longer than planned. What a shame
Offering a sun terrace and views of the sea, Torre Sabina is set in Calheta. Free private parking is available on site. Some rooms include a seating area to relax in after a busy day. A terrace or patio are featured in certain rooms. Bike hire and car hire are available at this bed and breakfast and the area is popular for snorkelling. The area is popular for windsurfing and diving. The nearest airport is Praia International Airport, 45 km from Torre Sabina.
Pros: Everything! The distance to the beach (right in front of the property), the distance to the airport was great since we had an early arrival and the fact that we got a rental car through Sabina (actually everything is just around the corner since it is a small island, but getting a rental car is something I would really recommend because it enables you to explore the entire island and come across some hidden beaches), the place itself( a tower, how romantic) looks super cute, has everything you need and is very clean. In the morning you wake up with the sound of the waves and the donkeys that come to say hello. The breakfast (and dinners) are delicious and the village is really beautiful. But the most amazing part from our experience at Torre Sabine must be the staff, everyone is so friendly. Thank you so much for everything Sabina and Mana, we want to come back for sure! The most enchanting place I ever stayed, it felt like a fairytale.
Pros: Location...staff...wonderful meals...friendly cook and owner
Cons: Really nothing to be mentioned
Pros: Extraordinary tower in beautifully tended garden. Fab ocean view. Wonderful breakfast and dinner. Sabina and her team are wonderful hosts. We loved Torre Sabina
Pros: The peace and quite of the area, the beach and the house grounds. Amazing! The buildings are an architectural pearl.
Pros: The location is great with a beautiful sea view Good breakfast even if it should put a little more choice of products Have a good dinner on the terrace Sabina (the owner) is a wonderful person
Cons: I was aware of the outside bathroom but honestly it is not so comfortable
