7.1 Good
Pros: Its countryside setting with nice views and animals around. Host is very friendly.
Cons: The room is nice but the toilet and bathroom is a bit dated. The horse-ride would be more enjoyable had the Gaucho guide not smoked. The water in the swimming pool is too cold to swim. The breakfast is not very nice with only a few choices with many flies. The wifi did not work well in my room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant and friendly staff
Cons: Cuisine is adequate but could use an upgrade. Lodge is just off the highway which prevents any sense of remoteness from the industrial world.
7.9 Good
Pros: The lunch and dinners were very well presented. The bathroom in the room was very large, with two sinks. The closets in the room were large with a lot of space. The waiters were very friendly. The pool was clean and had an excellent view of the countryside. I really enjoyed my horse ride. There was only fields around us, leading to a peaceful night, with crickets. The windows had bug screens. I took a lot of long walks, and I really enjoyed scaling the super small but fun rocky mountain nearby.
Cons: I didn't realize there wasn't any air conditioning until we arrived, so we got lucky with a week of cooler weather, otherwise the nights on the upper floor could of been uncomfortable. I found the breakfast lacking in selection, I was wishing for more yogurt options, more fresh fruit of the season (there was only apples, bananas and pears) some melon or watermelon would have been nice. The breakfast was set up on two areas, a high bar table and a round table. It felt a little cramped to access all the food items on the high bar table.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff exhibited great care.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extremely accommodating. I arrived late in the evening, after having emailed ahead from Buenos Aires. When I checked in, the kitchen was closing but an excellent meal was assembled at midnight. Subsequent meals were equally high quality. The horseback ride was stimulating across the countryside while taking in local flora and fauna. One rarely rides anywhere else with parrots flying about. There is a large swimming pool, hammocks, and other agricultural activities in which visitors can participate. Clear evening skies are filled with constellations, accompanied by the bleat of goats, croaking frogs, and crisp, fresh air. The decor is typical ranch style with the room and bed as ample size and a nicely appointed, large bathroom.
Cons: It's best to have your own vehicle. However it is not impossible to arrive via bus to San José station and from there take a taxi. The destination is well worth the inconvenience of getting there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property. Wonderful staff. Good food. Award winning wines. Horseback riding in gorgeous countryside. Exotic animal enclosure. We had a great time.
Cons: Everything was great.
7.9 Good
Pros: Good place to rest if you want to be surrounded by nature and farm animals. The food was great. All the meals where delicious and home made. The people who work there are very nice, always trying to help. I think this three things make us have a great time when we where there. They had horses to ride and games for children. Good place to go with children.
Cons: They had a beautiful pool, but they need to clean it more often. It was a little dirty if you wan to get inside. The bedroom are okey, beds are comfortable.
