The views are simply stunning. Get a lake view room, the extra cost is well worth it. Staff are superb and the hotel has bags of charm. We will be returning without doubt.
beautiful view from every room breakfast on the Saturday morning was poor, but on the Sunday morning was very good.
Location, food Room availability. Shabby chic was a bit too shabby and the attention to detail was lacking.
1) Location( Nice view). 2) Tidy. 3) Stylish. 4) Romantic&Relax. No elevator.
Peace and quiet, room with a view, good food, king sized bed and spacious bathroom.
White water rafting at Bala Visited the Lake Vyrnwy sculture park and dam Swimming pool/spa facilities would be a good addition
Wonderful dinner at Hotel restaurant and the view when the sun was setting. Cleaning - Bath tub was not clean on the day I checked in so I couldn't bath. Next day the cleaning had not been done. Hand towels were not changed even if they had been wet.
The location of the hotel is spectacular with stunning views of the lake.
Location Not being able to use my laptop or mobile phone
Beautiful hotel, stunning location and grounds. Very friendly staff. Only fault I can find is that the toilet in our room made an awful noise when flushed (trapped air in the system I think?!)
Comfortable room with lovely view of the estuary. Excellent staff and super breakfast.
I was not very impressed with the cleanliness of the room it was fithy I have taken photographs as evidence and will be complaining directly to the hotel. I was advised by your staff that we would receive a luxury room of 32sqmtr this was not the case when I asked on booking about breakfast in bed was advised yes and that on arrival we could only have continental breakfast. The breakfast was awful bacon so crispy that if I put my fork into it it would have shattered all over the restaurant, scrabbled eggs not cooked properly. The prices for the three course evening meal was disgusting £40.00 per head. Bar prices were ridiculous how can you justify a pint of Budweiser and a Jim Beam and Pepsi total price £10.20 riciculous. We enjoyed the tranquility of the hotel and the stylish presentation. Also the orama of lillies was distinctive and the very comfortable room was most enjoyable Two of us had duckling which was badly cooked rendering it tough. Our TV would not work and we asked for help. However when we tried to turn it in again it would not work. The problem was that it was old epquipment that did not work properly. Our radio was not programmed in so we could not get any programmes a except static.
Very Comfortable. Lots of nice finishing touches. Nothing springs to mind.
The whole experience of staying in an old manor house with oak panelling everywhere, creaking floorboards, characteristic furniture and decor, and a romantic and relaxing atmosphere in such a beautiful setting. Excellent cuisine and wine list in the restaurant
staff attentive and friendly and communal rooms comfortable bedroom too small and I would have expected a larger than 4'6" bed, the unusual request by the waitress for the time of your appearance at breakfast. The food was tasty but chefs appear to try too hard combine food tastes.
Very nice location. All public rooms very well presented and staff friendly None
A great hotel with beautiful gardens, superb interiors, calm location, convenient access to both mountains and the see, excellent meals and hospitality of staff. I am confident to recommend this hotel to anybody who would like to enjoy relaxed holiday.
The building - great atmosphere, the location, the food and attentive staff. Room got cold at night. Reception area not always manned - sometimes had to walk about to find someone.
Friendly informal service. Wonderful location. Excellent room
Location. Owner friendly. Generally good facilities. Room needs upgrading - bathroom a bit small. Old style tv in room [and remote faulty] - not modern flat screen. Unable to access room until after 3pm. Room rate possibly a bit high. Not sure why notice states to return room key if you go out.
Room was very nice and bath and shower was lovely. Food excellent
convenient location no proper coffee, limited breakfast menu - only tinned grapefruit & no fresh fruit, breakfast not possible before 8 am
Loved my room over looking the river & countryside, great to hear the birds tweet and the sheep barrrr in a morning. Had a nice evening meal and a few beers in the bar! Great for families and couples or like me on your own :-)
The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpfull. The surroundings were outstanding
The accommodation was comfortable clean and airy with a view over the mountains. It was a brilliant weekend and I would reccommend it to anyone. The proprietors were very helpful and friendly as were the staff who waited on us in the dining room. The food was very tasty and nicely cooked and was served to us by a very friendly lady. We had a very enjoyable weekend.
Great Location and a Hearty Breakfast
The manager was friendly and helpful. The ensuite shower was very good. Lovely setting. The hotel was very damp. The bed was small and uncomfortable and the rooms were dated. The bedroom was also damp. The ensuite was small and the toilet was possibly 90cm from the bed (although it was possible to shut the ensuite door) which wasn't ideal.
Suited our requirements very well. Hotel staff very accomodating and friendly
Beutiful, quiet location.
Owners very friendly and couldn't do enough for you
Very central for waking in Wales
It was obvious on arrival that we had made an excellent choice of Hotel our room was as described the views where fantastic. Both the Owners who are involved heavilly in the running and managing the hotel could not do to much for you. The food was also excellent with a sustantial Menu and Daily Specials board to choose from. Both my Wife and i feel that the Hotel is Excellent value for money and would recommend to anyone reading this review 10/10 this being our opinion others may differ keep it up Only that the stay wasn't for long enough
Sight seeing, and concert
Nice friendly hotel with good food. Very clean and spacious. Would stay again. Beautiful countryside views. no
The friendliness of the staff and comfortable atmosphere
Excellent location, friendly staff, good food.
Very friendly and helpful staff with good food supplied even when not included on the menu small amount of traffic noise and the low flying jets although this was made apparent when booking lack of electric power point in bathroom for shavers etc
Friendly staff; good management/organisation; very good food especially good presentation; geographically well situated hotel for excellent walks, wildlife and scenery. One morning our breakfast omelette was salty.
The hotel and particularly Tim, Sue and their staff, is wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble for their guests, food is exceptional, views are fantastic. None, except a long way from us
Excellent food. Very good room. Good service. A most enjoyable stay.
Excellent food and service
