Pros: All aspects were excellent with a dedicated couple working hard to provide everything to an exceptionally high standard in a very friendly manner. From a warm welcome to fond farewell, we were totally impressed by all aspects of our stay.
Cons: Can’t think of anything!!
Pros: The owner was very friendly and helpful.
Pros: We had a perfect stay at Merindol. Nothing could be faulted. It is a beautifully restored period house, set in large grounds. Perfect for a winter break, with its fireplace, but we would love to return in summer - to swim in the pool!
Pros: Friendly welcome by the owner. Very nice room and overall surroundings. Will definetly tell other people about it and will stay there again
Pros: We loved our stay at Merindol Manor, the house is exquisite and Vincent and Nath have made sure it is full of warm, special touches. We had a super relaxing stay! Highlights were the incredible garden, the amazing water pressure in the showers and Vincent's homemade breakfast featuring eggs from the chickens in the garden, homemade preserves, home-baked bread and more.
Cons: We really have no complaints, our stay was perfect and we would love to return for another visit.

Pros: The decore atmosphere and staff had the charming feel of an earlier era which we loved. Staff were very kind and accommodating and the food was lovely. The wild life and farming was most interesting and well demonstrated. Comfort and the ability to find a quiet corner also appealed to us.
Cons: A bit more water in the dam from some welcome rain!
Pros: The breakfasts are superb and the location is peaceful and beautifully rural
Cons: The shower in the bath was liable to flood and could be dangerous to get in and out of. Just have a shower - however nice the victorian bath is !!!
Pros: The location and accomodation is excellent. Breakfasts and afternoon tea were very good, however, found the evening meals disappointing.
Cons: Food was dated and even though we told them we didnt eat red meat the only option was Hake both nights. We were very disappointed in this
Pros: Brilliant breakfast in every respect!
Cons: Starter dinner: "carpaccio" in shape of not very fine cut wurst Main course dinner: rump steak over cooked
Pros: Everything was perfect and serene
Cons: Nothing to dislike

Pros: The host was warm and friendly and our room had a beautiful view
Pros: The décor and style of building Reminded me of Venice....The only think missing was the water channel
Cons: drive way needs a bit of attention
Pros: I liked everything about the place, it was more than we ever expected. You feel like you could be in France or Italy. The decor is superb, you had everything you could ever wish for in the room and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Pros: When we got there the reception lady was not there. The two cleaners did not know anything. Could not even open the gate. When we got back to the venue at 11h30 there was no hot water. Was furious. Had to boil water just to bath!!! Went to look for the receptio nist...no where to be found. Report it the next morning but just receive an answer," I will investigate." One pays alot ot money at least I want a hot bath!!!!!
Cons: Hot water to bath please!!!! Is this NOT included in my booking!!!!!!
Pros: Elmarie was so helpful and kind.
Cons: Pigeons on the roof!
Pros: Very clean and comfortable. Rooms are big and very well furnished. Communal areas also very well laid out. Would have no hesitation returning.
Pros: Great view - All rooms and bathroom very spacious. Had a wonderful stay. Large open plan kitchen en patio with BBQ.
Pros: the beautify of the house and the valley and surroundings and its save to stay there
Cons: There was no breakfast at all. The site said Bed & Breakfast so we thought breakfast was included. That was a bit of a disappointment
Pros: Extremely well managed and exceeded all our needs. Very safe and well situated with a very nice view. Will definitely recommend to others and will be revisiting in the near future.
Cons: the damp smell in certain parts of the property, might be because of the property is not occupied all the time, if opened up a few hours a week it will probably get rid of the damp smell...
Pros: Loved the property, well positioned with breathtaking views.
Cons: Could have had a TV in the bedrooms
Located in Riebeeck West, Ruby Rose is a 2-minute drive from Allesverloren Estate and 5 minutes from Riebeek Cellars Wine Shop. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. Guests may use a roundtrip airport shuttle for a surcharge, and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Lovely interior. Clean and neat. Breakfast was good. Friendly staff. Lovely communal spaces. Pity we were not there long enough to enjoy these and the pool.
Cons: We were running late and tried to phone 3 times before arriving. No answer. I put in Ruby Rose on Google GPS and it took us to the correct street but not at all close to the guest house. Location took us to the local Police station. I tried to call again and at last the phone was answered. The person on the line had clearly been drinking. I got the house nr and Google then took us to the correct location. We were met by a very friendly but clearly intoxicated host/ receptionist. All was fine in the end, but it took allot of convincing to persuade my partner to stay. At least the rest of the stay was pleasant. My partner found the bathroom very tight and the shower door that opens inwards was not great. No towel rail to hang wet towels.
Cons: Some tea instead of just coffee in the room. Some people prefer tea in the morning.
Pros: Did not have breakfast
Cons: Bathroom towels
Pros: Staff were great. It was tidy and neat.
Cons: Internet connection was poor in our room. Weren't able to connect and when we did it was slow to non-existent. One 2 coat hangers which made hanging clothes an issue. Room was quite small for the price. Found it a bit expensive for what we were provided.
Pros: Location is good and staff are friendly.
Cons: There was birds in the ceiling and we struggled to sleep. The open bathroom is also not very nice. I dont want to see my partner on the toilet.
Pros: Breakfast was really amazing! Love the bathroom
Cons: Sell cooldrink or water in the kitchen area to have in the bedrooms or maybe think of a bar fridge under the coffee station in the rooms
Pros: Friendly staff, very clean. Breakfast was fab
Cons: Bedroom was a little small
Pros: The bed was super comfy, and the hosts very friendly.
Cons: The room wasn’t that clean, water marks on the bedside table. Also lighting was dark. Towels weren’t changed, and weren’t fluffy and soft. We Paid a rate of R1175 per night including breakfast, and were told on arrival that our rate did not include breakfast. The room alone was not worth R1175 per night, as the area was not very nice. No views or anything that made it worth that price, without breakfast included.
Pros: Bester and Mbo hosted myself and my mother, and I really can't say enough good things about the hospitality they offered to us.
Cons: The only real gripe I could have is not really related to the property but is something that they could action. The location on map services is incorrect which lead to some confusion in locating the property upon arrival. However it is well signposted in the town itself.
Located in Riebeek Kasteel, Olyfenhuis is within a 15-minute walk of The Gallery and Riebeek Cellars Wine Shop. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Nice and relaxed place to stay, I was in the Anex and was very private and cosy. The host allowed me an extended check out time, which was great.
Pros: Clean and comfortable. Friendly helpfull hosts.
Cons: I would like a fireplace. We visited in winter. Their is a aircon but nothing beats the fireplace atmosphere.
Pros: Martina is a lovely person - very friendly, kind and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Pros: Everything was clean and neat. The hostess was very friendly. Perfect stay
Cons: There was nothing not to like. It's a beautifull place, and just what I needed.
Pros: I went for work and Martina especially made sure i had a desk to work at. Special place...quiet..save...stylish....comfortable...reasonable...
Cons: I liked everything about the place. My second stay there
Pros: Clean place in village, good beds, basic and good kitchen facilities. Very friendly owner who gave good info. Generous coffee, tea, milk and joghurt on the house. Any time again. Ideal for a family.

Pros: Owners are lovely. Breakfast is nothing fancy but more than adequate. Quiet area. Secure parking.
Cons: A bottle of water or two on the house would've been nice. Towels were full of white fuzz balls (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). Pool could be cleaner but I imagine it doesn't get much action
Pros: The facilities were excellent and the staff amazing, going out of their way to make us comfortable. Best place to stay in Riebeek with fantastic value for money

Pros: The hosts Gail & Mike were most helpful with their time and guidance on things to see and places to visit. The vintage port and the chocolates along with the finishing touches of the sprigs of lavender placed on the towels in our bedroom showed genuine care for the guests. The home made breakfasts which included the hosts own yogurt, butter and granola were simply great. Overall a very refined and gentle approach by Gail and Mike the hosts made our stay most enjoyable.
Cons: I couldn't fault the facilities or the service in any way. Our room was clean, warm and very comfortable.
Pros: Juice was very nice and breakfast was stunning.
Cons: No complaints
Pros: It was a lovely, comfortable stay. The hosts were very friendly, professional and accommodating.
With a stay at La Montagne Bed & Breakfast in Riebeek Kasteel, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of The Gallery and Riebeek Cellars Wine Shop. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Location good.
Cons: No room cleaning service on Saturday , despite that we told management that we need service while we were there until late morning. No refill of coffee and other refreshment ,cleaning of dustbin etc. I found a local visitor in the backyard Friday afternoon and when I confronted him he was begging for money - certainly not good for security. You are always aware of other guests., talking , using toilet , bathroom facilities. Parking facilities not secured.
Cons: It was lovely
Pros: The breakfast was great. Well presented and delicious. The property is well located and it was great to be able to walk to the restaurant. I think for overnight accommodation it is great. It is ideal for overnight accommodation.
Cons: The steps to take my suitcase up. I was travelling for a week and therefore had a bigger suitcase. I think for someone who has an overnight bag the steps are fine.
Pros: We felt safe. Everything was beautiful and immaculate. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were friendly, cheerful, helpful and absolutely loving. We will be back!
Pros: Just beautiful place and the nice atmosphere, the fireplace....
Pros: It really is a lovely guesthouse. The room we stayed in was beautiful. One of the most comfiest beds I have ever slept in! The location is really great. We did not make use of the communal kitchen but its seems really well stocked.
Pros: Excellent location , very tastefully decorated . All round a 10/10 experience
Pros: It is the second time that we have visited and it is a little piece of heaven. Lovely place to stay in this serene little village. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone.
With a stay at The Royal Hotel in Riebeek Kasteel, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of The Gallery and Riebeek Cellars Wine Shop. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Breakfast was very good and well prepared. Dinner was fantastic. The staff was always friendly, helpful and hands on. Everything was neat and clean. The hotel is situated in a very cosy little town and a visit is recommendable.
Pros: was excellent
Pros: The building is quite old and consequently is a bit quirky and could do with some money spending on it here and there, despite asking for the lamp over the mirror in the bathroom to be replaced as the bulb had failed, it didn't happen, not a big deal though. The staff were very pleasant and the food was extremely good and nicely presented. We had one of the villas overlooking the lake with the Kasteelberg in the distance, very attractive and a lovely place to sit and be peaceful.
Cons: Not a lot.
Pros: The rooms are lovely with space and extras, such as fridge stocked with drinks, and bathrobes, aircon and a huge bathroom for elegant bathing. We were the only guests, so dinner was not an option the first night, however The Red Tin Roof offers an excellent, if avant- garde, experience with a fascinating backdrop of old posters from Russia, China and Cuba. Recommend the burgers – piled high with food and very tasty, washed down with an excellent, fruity Pieter Cruythoff Sparkling wine. The next night, we dined at the hotel – fish and chips (more elegant than usual) and pork belly, with a local Lammershoek Innocent Chenin Blanc. There are many excellent wine co-ops and an amazing Olive Boutique offering unusual and yummy olives in the area. Spend at least two days here.
Pros: Central for touring the winelands of Swartland. Staff were very hospitable and helpful and the food in the restaurant delicious
With a stay at The Red Tin Roof in Riebeek Kasteel, you'll be within a 10-minute walk of The Gallery and Riebeek Cellars Wine Shop. Featured amenities include laundry facilities, coffee/tea in a common area, and refrigerator in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Perfect for a night or two away
Pros: An amazing little town, with a rich history. The Red Tin Roof in itself has a rich history with beautiful decor and a wonderful restaurant. Staff are friendly, food delicious and rooms wonderful. Thank you for an amazing stay.
Pros: I slept like a queen! 10 Hoorays for the host and friendly staff!
Pros: Loved the fireplace and central lounge Very friendly staff
Cons: Please check electrical cords in rooms - unable to plug in wall panel heaters as cord too short. Unfortunate overcharging on dinner bill - one dish that was not available was still charged for + another was charged at R20 more than menu price; this is an unnecessary irritation and spoils an otherwise excellent stay
Pros: Delicious breakfast and cheerful staff. Comfy room too
Pros: Loved the location. The restaurant was great. The Staff were so helpful and friendly, especially Emanuel who was excellent and so welcoming with a great sense of humor. The beds were comfortable and the food at the restaurant was so good. Great to be able to walk straight to the room after our dinner and some drinks.
Pros: Character house. Great position. Comfortable and clean. Very friendly.
Cons: No complaints
Pros: Setting. Beautiful old house. Clean bedding. Friendly staff
Cons: Shower was blocked so badly there was black stuff coming out of the outlet when you used the basin. Reported it but they didn't fixed it. Room very dark. Only bedside lamps.

Pros: Stunning tranquil garden. Very cozy and clean and very friendly and helpful Anna.
Cons: No mirror in bedroom.
Pros: Stunning location
Pros: Did not have breakfast. Did not even know there was breakfast.
Cons: Not sure our linen was fresh. Pillowcases definitely not fresh and washed.
Pros: Spacious and spotlessly clean. Beautiful garden.
Cons: Note: this is not self catering. There are tea/coffee making facilities but no cooking facilities.
Pros: there was no breakfast. ducks kept chasing us
Cons: the fact that there was no microwave or place to make food. The ducks mad a mess on the verander right infront of our entrace door at Clivia. messy nothing to clean it up with. And the guests above very noisey on the flooring the whole night , could have been more sound proof.
Pros: Location, view and facilities
Cons: Anna is friendly, helpful and so hospitable

The air-conditioned bed and breakfast also features a flat-screen TV, a seating area, and 1 bathroom with a shower. Pros: The room was clean and Sue was very accommodating allowing us to check in early. Very helpful - she made sure that every thing was perfect for our arrival.
Cons: Cant complain about anything. Everything was great.
Pros: Nothing. Not up to standard. Out dated. Won't be back.
Cons: There were a strange smell in the room. Light switches are at the back of the bed wall.... Very high up. No light switches when you enter the room at night. On this site it advertise as Bed and full English breakfast. That is not the case. We got two brown bags last night which were pre-packed with an naartjie, little box of juice, small jogurt, a sandwich and a small packet of dry biscuits. We paid for a Bed and Full English breakfast. Very upset and won't recommend SuNel's to anyone. Not worth r995. I would not pay more than r325 per night for this room.
Pros: Only place available
Cons: The price vs quality. Room very average for ZAR 900+. Room amenities and service very bland. Their offerings has breakfast included, to find out that they no longer have a traditional breakfast, rather a meal packed in a bag. A store bought cheese sandwich, a drink, a fruit and a snack. Like a school lunch pack. No one at the property at check out neither. Worth maybe Zar600-650 definitely not R995
Pros: On arrival the was a strong smell of Desmestos which is off putting
Pros: I found the guest house very cozy and great room. The fact they had a dedicated smoking area was so amazing often we smokers are left out in the cold. The wifi signal was very low but not an issue. I especially love the fact breakfast gets dropped off the night before and ready to go on my own time. Really amazing must say love the place dearly. And the owners and the young man that provided the breakfast was so friendly and great to meet.
Cons: I think a little more security would be great, maybe a gate in / out.
