convenient central location As usual poorest rooms for single occupancy - at the end of the hotel, no view and over ;ooking the road passed and into the car park. Circuitous route to room and no assistance with luggage
Helpful staff. Evening meal and breakfast both very good. Very comfy bed.Room clean. Perfect location for my business trip.
I liked the location and the quietness. Had a lot of problems with the water...hot and cold did not work well. A lot of air in the lines caused the water to go on and off during a shower. I do not have any complaints per say, just a problem with the hot/cold water. I still liked the hotel.
postion to town was good. not very friendly staff. stayed in newly refurbished room but no lock on bathroom door and front door rattled.
Nothing in perticular but was not impressed. Location, was given the impression that it was surrouned by coutryside but was in the middle of the town. The Dinner was very poor. Over cooked vegitables, watery coliflower with no taste, I have erased the rest from my mind, thank goodness.
the location of the Abbey is just perfect, be at the centre of the town. the hotel is clean and nice as good as the staffs. anyway i stayed at a wing of the abbey that doesn't have an elevator. it's rather difficult to move with a big luggage.
room service annexe not in keeping with main hotel appearance
beautiful hotel well furnished. no
old fashioned style, very good breakfast, generally good value long walk to the car park
Value for money - clean room and good breakfast The heating levels in all rooms were set too high for us
the cleanliness of the hotel and it was quiet and peaceful the only issue we found was the bar isn't open for serving alchoholic drinks after midnight and there isn't room service
Brand new hotel, ideal for what we wanted None
Sp0tless Communal check in bar and resturant multi purpose area not satisfactory
Very clean and modern rooms. Food good but restaurant small especially when you have a coach trip staying who fill up the restaurant. Would stay there again. On booking I requested a room not above 2nd floor but was allocated a 4th floor room. This was changed but if they had read my instructions should not have happened.
Stylish interior, good breakfast choice, friendly and competant staff. lackof headroom in ensuites
Wonderfully kept property, tasteful decor. Friendly staff. Enjoyable stay. A little far from the city center for walking, but seemed to be a good base for exploring the area by car.
The hotel was super, very good room, breakfast etc reasonably priced in comparison to others of similar or better rating. Had stayed at the Queens hotel before which has a wonderful situation but preferred this hotel which we thought was better all round except for location at half the price. We had to use the car to get into Cheltenham, to walk in, shop and walk back would be too much. However it was worth it.
The hospitality and service were fantastic. Excellent location and surroundings. Family run. The size of the room was pretty small!
Premium room was superbly appointed, and spotless. No
Very friendly and helpful staff both front of house and in general. Particularly proactive in recommending restaurants in Cheltenham and organising efficient taxis. Room was well decorated with modern amenities. Loved the feel of the Regency house itself. Would be scratching around to find a negative.
There had been alot of attention to detail throughout the hote Head room in the bathroom is limited and also the soundproofing was not great
nice clean room, was not asked if we wanted a "turn down service" and lots of photographers all over the place.
Wonderful warm welcome and very well trained staff. Excellent.
very near to shops room was clean and warm bed was a bit hard kettle had to be plugged in on bedside table not near tea ,coffee ect
The breakfast! It was not "10 minutes from town centre" unless you were a teenager on roller skates! For a middle-aged lady it was 20 minutes. OK in daylight but undesirable after dark.
Friendliness, welcoming, Comfiness of the room and breakfast. It was warm with sub-zero temperatures out side! Nothing
Good facilities. Convenient to town centre. Good breakfast. All in all good value for money. No. I'd stay there again.
Stylish and comfortable townhouse hotel located within 5 minutes' walk of the town centre. Excellent value and free parking. I can't imagine wanting to stay anywhere else in Cheltenham.
Only way to descibe hotel is first class accomodation
Convenience to the centre of town, parking, and being in a quiet position, spacious rooms, and good breakfast, hotel has friendly helpful staff,a very pleasant stay. None
Rooms well furnished and decorated
A very stylish, friendly hotel. Clean and comfortable. Very helpful staff.
service was good room service was slow it took 50 miins and fire alrms consistantly going off
The rooms were comfortable and well equipped, staff freindly and helpful the setting beautiful. What let it down was the restaurant which was pricey and the food average or less. My daughter is a vegan and ordered olives and bread as a starter from the menu. We asked about the composition of the chopped olives as my daughter could smell fish the waitress did not return, when we finally asked someone else they came back and said anchovies were included and a bowl of balsamic vinigar by then we had all finished ours. For mains we ordered a selection of vegetables and asked them to include some mushrooms and asparagus, what was delievered was a plate of boiled cauliflower, broccolli and carrots. They called this stir fry and charged us £12.50
our room was very spacious and very clean, but quite a long walk away from the main block. everybody was very freindly. we eat one night in the restaraunt,we did nit feel the layout and organisation for a evenig meal was very personal and private, felt like you were eating in a canteen, and food was quite expensive for what you got. more than adequet for breakfast though, breakfast very good.
lovely rooms. excellent facilities
Breakfast good choice Room a long way from entrance
it was just ok, didn't feel 4 star access at arrival, directing you to carpark at back then through staircases and corridors back to main reception we could have accessed from front, felt like a delivery not a guest, the room smelled badly of damp, as must the others as the whole corridor did.
Food is very poor value for money, breakfast is poor
the bathroom was poor and basin drained very slowly.
Friendly. Quiet. Staff were helpful. Good facilities - pool, resturant, bar, taxi service etc. Hotel loks a little bit old in places.
easy access to Cotswold countryside
The staff were extremly helpful and friendly, always on hand and polite. Also I ws a great location. Slightly disappointed with the inside of the hotel. I have always wanted to stay there as it is the premier hotel in cheltenham but found the interior very old and seriously in need of redecoration.
Atmosphere and breakfast in conservatory! More information about what and where things in Cheltenham were- in file in room!
Location. Room was comfortable and clean. Noise from the street outside. Despite the windows being shut, we had two nights disturbed sleep from the traffic and noisy passers by.
Central location. Bed very comfortable. Problems getting any food after 2 p.m. particularly Sunday (day we arrived) No lunch! No bar snacks/sandwiches! Also apart from the dining room you cannot get a light meal in the evening. Also our request for room overlooking the Park was ignored
Quality and cleanliness of room Checkout is a bit fraught
Extremely pleased! Everyone was so helpful and kind! Room was very nice and cleaned well every day. Room service perfect along with huge food selection in restaurant. It really couldn't have been any better! Not one single thing! Someone mentioned a new owner within the past week I was there but I did not see any problems with that and the service at all. I would stay here always. Wish all were this great and perfect!
the staff were lovely, the room was very clean
Old style hotel, good bar and perfect meeting place for Cheltenham race week, walk to points of interest in town. very noisy at night and the whole place is tired. For racing only.
The friendliness of the staff.
To be honest, there was not a thing I liked about the Hotel. The Hotel appeared very drab and shabby. After ordering a very expensively priced cocktail costing £8.00 at the Hotel bar, I was told if I wanted peanuts it would be another £3.00 please.
Location, welcome, decor, presentation, comfort, facilities My husband is tall. If we had known in advance about the sloping eaves we might have upgraded the room
Excellent decor, friendly staff, good breakfast, clean, comfortable, well- maintained and stylish. Lots of nice touches (papers available to read at breakfast, massive vases of lillies in the sitting room etc.) Good position in town. None
Beautiful rooms, beautiful hotel, great location close to shops and places to eat/drink. Breakfast took over an hour the first morning as they are cooked in the order that guests arrive in the dining room and we all arrived at once!
This was our second stay at the hotel because it is very centrally located with good access to the centre of cheltenham which is only a 5 minute walk away, but it also also provides a very quiet location when in the hotel . The information available within the hotel is also excellent Nothing
Very clean and comfortable. Good sized room with super bathroom.Excellent, albeit slow, breakfast. Good location.
Good location with parking. Good size room, good products for bath and tea, coffee in room.
location & breakfast. the room had sloping ceilings, which was arkward because im so tall.
Clean, very comfortable bed, great power shower, great breakfast, friendly reception, good location. Room was cold when we arrived, flex too short on kettle, had to ask for towels.
Excellent for friendly staff. Accomodation was small but adequate. Modern but in keeping with the surroundings None
Beautiful decoration of the rooms in true victorian style but which were comfortable and relaxing to be in.
Location Noisy Corridors
Value for money, cleanliness, location Hated the sliding glass door to bathroom - my daughter has restriced sight and it was not easy for her to use
We enjoyed our brief stay, The location was quiet for a city centre, Great. The room felt as though we were the first guests, spotless & well appointed, with everything we required. Breakfast although stated as continental was substantial & well presented. In all much more than we expected. Many thanks Dave Gittus M.B.E.
Convenient position Cleanliness Good breakfast I was lucky with the car parking but others were not. More clarity on the limited parking would be more honest
central situation prefer english to contl. breakfast
Very well located to the High street. I found it easy to reach the venue of the conference I had to attend. No complaints.
My room was a suite and was very nice and clean. A bit to expensive
All very clean and functuional Nothing
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean and tidy as was the rooms.
the room we were given was covered in urine stains form an occupant having had a dog in there we counted approx 16 large stains and the room smelled
There was not one thing that was good! Would like my money back as worst hotel we have been to in the uk. Even rang them yesterday and got nowere....
Easy and with a family of 5 plus dog it's hard to find somewhere that works - we had adjoining rooms. It was handy from the motorway and did the job. Overnight motel.
Clean and bright environment No lager on tap on night I stayed, and excessive price of bottled beer.
lovely large room no
Rooms were comfortable, clean, with nice ensuite. Bed was lovely. Breakfast was not good, too little room for too many people, staff had problems keeping up with demand, so jugs, food containers etc were empty. No real tea or coffee just out of a machine. Just sausage and scrambled eggs which did not taste nice. Fruit juice out of a machine which had an aftertaste.
Pleasantly laid out; clean and tidy; cheerful staff. Pleasant decor in the room and attractive/practical shower room. Simple but good value breakfast. Poor lighting in the room (300) . There appeared to be an intermittent electrical fault in one light fitting which we mentioned, was apparently dealt with, but wasn't resolved.
Quiet, discreet, clean, easy good car park, hotel not in town center no fast food or possiblilty to eat a meal, but good breakfast
This hotal is so excellent! Staffs were very kindness and freindly. A room with view and larger than is offten the case. We ate full English breakfast. It's so good! I always recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a venue.
The hotel was lovely. We have travelled for 2 months and this was the best hotel for warnth and friendliness, great rooms, great area and every welcoming owners where nothing was too much trouble. We will love to come back again.
It is proprietor run and the husband and wife team is very friendly and attentive. Excellent cooked breakfast. The ensuite, but the owner is having that upgraded soon.
The hospitality was wonderful, the premises itself was beautifully kept, light, bright and spacious with views to die for. The room we had was really spacious and they hadn't forgotten those little touches that make all the difference, flowers on the bed and a few chocolates plus bottled water as well as the tea coffee, biscuits! A lovely welcome on arrival with tea and cakes in the lounge went down a treat. Breakfast was really good with an excellent selection, we really enjoyed our stay!
the welcome and help from the owners; the good sized room; the view the shower in our room tended to flood the bathroom floor
Owners of the Cleeve Hill Hotel are most courteous and helpful. Delightful to converse with.
Lovely and unusual place to stay. Food and service excellent.Breakfast in conservatory most enjoyable. Room a little dark. En-suite needed a little refreshing.
Very pretty , comfortable room, and nice view from the window! There are sheep and cow at the hill - back of the House -. And owners are kind, friendly. I had great time!!
Staff (who were actually the owners. Location. There were cobwebs in the bathroom. There was a lot of noise which sounded like radiator pipes kicking in which did wake us up very early.
made to feel very welcome.
Having stayed there 12 months ago, when I was extrememly satisfied, I rebooked again without hesitation. As on that occasion, I Had no complaints so will stay there again when the need arises in the future. The small number of car parking spaces within the boundary of the hotel. However, there is sufficient unrestricted parking on the wide road outside so is not much of a problem.
Very happy with the welcome received, the manner in which we were treated was both personable and professional. We will be staying again soon. N/A
it was relaxing.Very close to shops and town centre.Very close to eating places. No
Well run, friendly hotel in an excellent location for Cheltenham's shops and facilities. Good breakfast, attentive staff. The room we were in was rather small
Good situation for shopping and meals out. Able to use nearby pool for free swim (5 mins walk) . Attentive owners happy to offer suggestions and very clean room. Slight musty smell on entering our room each time despite leaving windows open but soon un-noticeable so only a very minor point otherwise good.
Quiet location but very close to the centre of Cheltenham. Helpful, informative and smiling staff. All was very good.
Friendly and welcoming staff and owners. Room very clean and comfortable. Good breakfast. Convenient for town center and restaurants.
Very welcoming on arrival, room warm and comfortable. Excellent breakfast, staff very efficient. Owners took the time to introduce themselves to their guests. Would reccommend this hotel.
The excellent customer care- accommodation and breakfast superb
Friendliness of staff, convenient location of hotel, room was exceedingly comfortable and immaculately clean.
Bit dated but excellent staff and service would have liked freeview on the tv
Proximity to city centre. On-site free carparking. Evening meal facility. Bedrooms could have done with a refurb.
nice location, friendly staff, fantastic breakfast. expensive for a 2 diamond hotel and quite dated.
clean, good facilities, pleasant surroundings decor felt a bit out dated, tea in rooms was not great quality
Friendly bar open on our return late evening, and delicious freshly cooked breakfast. Tea-making facilities in the room - there were only 3 Earl Grey tea-bags supplied. There was no ordinary tea, coffee or biscuits to choose from for our morning drink.
Very clean room and friendly polite staff. Good quality sausage at breakfast - always a good sign:) There was a chair in the room but it was too low to use with the table so that made it awkward to use my laptop. I would have liked more beans at breakfast too. Nit picking I know.... but otherwise good value for money:)
the hotel is set in lovely grounds and in a quiet area of town. the staff were very helpful
The hotel was really friendly and welcoming The prices of drinks and food was a little high
I like it. it was good value for money!
The value for money for the family room was definitely excellent. It provided comfortable and spacious room for a family of four. none.
The group were pleased with the "all round package" - hotel was impressive and clean, and the Staff were excellent not applicable - all was good
The staff were so friendly and accommodating nothing was too much trouble You gave the wrong address and it took 1 1/2 hours to find the hotel!!!!!!!!It's on the Old Gloucester Road not Gloucester Road and the postcode is incorrect
reasonable quality house wine, good bar meal
Wonderful saty, pleasant staff, clean rooms and excellent food.
Enjoyed our stay and was amazing value for money, would stay again. The beds were extremely large and comfortable and a DVD player and fridge in the room is an extra bonus.
near race course the beds where very uncomfortable and the room was not well presented the hotel is in the process of renovation
Reception not inspiring but beyond that everything else was!!
Staff were excellent and always willing to help with any request Poor water pressure. Had to change rooms twice and still did not get a decent shower
Best steak I've ever tasted... Poor condition and decor...rooms dark and dreary...no atmosphere
The hotel in general was very clean and comfortable and the location was very close to the business venue I was visiting The location would not suit some being situated on a business park. The car park though adequate only had a temporary surface which detracted from the external appearance.
Not necessarily bad points; just think you would like to know. I ordered two newspapers that weren't received. We had two drinks in the bar. We were not asked for our room number or payment, and there was no-one to offer to when we finished. I raised it in order to pay when checking out - as there was no document I was told there was no charge. Very nice for me but I hope your hotel does well and stays in business.
The Spa is a wonderful, calm and comfortable area. Plenty of comfy seating and papers to read. The breakfast was delicious. Staff were cheery and polite always.
The facilities meant we could relax and they weren't too busy The fact that all treatments were fully booked
Excellent lesiure facilities - very helpful pleasant staff- good restaurant
The facilities were excellent. I really enjoyed my stay at Malvern Spa. Nothing
Staff try their best to be helpful, the sensation of being in a steaming pool while its zero degrees outside is quite cool, prices are reasonable and the food is good. Room windows dont open so it can get a little stuffy and the arcon makes noise, spa facilities other than the pool are fairly basic.
Staff were helpful, hotel clean, enjoyable spa and pool which merged with outside. Ddin't eat there but menu looked good. Overall good value for money. Book early for treatments on week-ends as wasn't able to have tretment of choice due to short notice.
Wonderful No bad points at all, a first
