Pros: Nice staff, Nicola is very helpful with all the question we had. A lot of italians kept the Atmosphere familiar. We had food in the many beachrestaurants near by the Hotel. Startung with 1 $ the tuctuc gets you around. There is a nice beschclub where you can hang around. Of course some beachboys and girls but you had your own sunbed and the crew looked out if you Want them to leave they take care of it. Everything was clean and the Pool area so nice to hang out! Will Go again :)

Pros: It was the perfect stay for our elopement! We loved the friendly staff and the pool and main areas were just charming and beautiful! Marine Holiday was able to accommodate everything we needed, even providing an extra room for the groom's sister. We hope to stay again for sure!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had an amazing stay at Nicolai’s property! When we arrived at the airport, transfer was sorted for us and the driver was very nice, we arrived and it was even more beautiful than the pictures showed. The man who worked in the kitchen was excellent the breakfast we had every morning as it was so nice and we decided to have dinner on our last night because the food was so good! All the staff were very nice and welcoming, one night we came back after midnight and the security kindly let us in. It’s a very safe location and Malindi is a must if you are travelling to Kenya. The property was extremely clean and had amazing decor around the rooms. WiFi worked everywhere also. Overall an excellent stay and exceeded our expectations. Would highly recommend!
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Nicolai is very friendly, very accommodating and the rest of his staff went out of their way to make my stay amazing. I enjoyed the serenity at the property
Cons: My room was a little small next time I’ll get one of the jogger rooms
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing breakfast, a big plate of fresh fruit and then eggs of your choice with assorted breads. Really nice external covered seating area for relaxing or working and always peaceful. The rooms are really well decorated and furnished. Nicolai is extremely caring and thoughtful and cannot do enough to make sure your stay is a good one. I'm vegetarian and there wasn't a lot of choice on the menu for me but the chef made a tasty rice and vegetable dish, it was that good I had it every night. I wouldn't hesitate in returning.
Cons: More choice on the menu for vegetarians but in no way is this a negative as I was well catered for.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were really clean and very comfortable beds. The location was peaceful and quiet perfect place for relaxation.

Pros: Very beautiful and clean villa and its surroundings, cozy and clean rooms ( they are cleaned everyday and towels are replaced as well), hot water in showers, huge bed. Very nice and helpful owners, gave us many information concerning malindi and transport to nairobi, polite staff who makes amazing breakfast ( one of the best we have ever tried). Villa is near beach ( only about 5 min), we noticed that ocean area near this villa has least algae in malindi coast. We really enjoyed peaceful and quiet atmosphere here which is contrast to noisy and lively malindi. Also, we loved four friendly owners’ dogs and three cats .
Cons: Nothing

Cons: It's a bit far from town, restaurants and also the beach, so you need to set aside money to go anywhere or do anything. But for at very relaxing pool holiday it is perfect!

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are excellent, very clean. Loved the spectacular view of the ocean. Enjoyed the fresh fish.
Cons: Customer service is not up to the standard of the hotel with few exceptions. The activities' organisers were very good; bar and restaurant staff mixed: spa ok but not great. Also didn't like the sports bar music playing in the background while having dinner. The bar doesn't fit to the serene environment
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The facility is properly secured and conducive.
Cons: when visitors are fewer, there is need to maintain the same service in terms of food served and the style of serving. Simply put, maintain buffet regardless of the number of visitors.

Pros: We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Leopard Point! The villas are beautiful and well equipped to ensure your comfort and relaxation. The staff are all great and very helpful.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property was very tidy. The food was very good. The staff (Hussein and Sikubali) were amazing, they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. After 6 days it felt like leaving a second home. We also got a free upgrade and had an entire villa to ourselves. Overall a very good experience and will definitely be going back.
Cons: Honestly, nothing. It’s perfect for people looking for privacy and relaxation
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The manager Kathia. She was very welcoming and helpful.
Cons: The AC in my room was leaking water. I reported it to the lady at the reception who promised they will work on it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The quality of services The professional and loving staff members The architect and decor and location
Cons: The place is exceptional with a topnotch decor and a 5 star score. The staff are amazing, such lovely and professional personnel. I had severe allergies and the hotel did everything to feed me on all levels. So grateful to the dedicated chef who went his way to serve me great food. Sikubali is a kind and bubbly chap who always brings out a smile on the guests faces. The managers Hussein and Roberto are customer oriented and so is the office staff, the maintenance guys and the housekeeping staffs. I had a fantastic holiday thanks to the staff, the ambiance, the location and the quality of services provided. I highly recommend the hotel and I also look forward to staying with you again.. Regards Beatrice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at Leopard Point can only be faulted by the fact that it was too short - and that’s on us. For that reason we intend to come back and stay longer. I particularly want to extend my sincere thanks t to the staff at Leopard Point, specifically Hussein, Sandra, Sikubali and Roberto who were extremely helpful and ensured we had the friendliest service and most comfortable time at this gorgeous ocean-front resort. I highly recommend lunch or dinner by the stone terrace overlooking the ocean, coupled with a glass or two of Prosecco.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect, the room with a pool view, the food, the beach, the bar, my surprise birthday cake and dance from the staff, the spa massage. The staff super nice.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The spacious room. Some of the staff like William.
Cons: I was kept waiting at the reception for confirmation of my booking. I also didn't like the fact that I was charged a lot of money for change of ny room to a seaview room. Moreso when most of the rooms were empty.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved this hotel. The grounds are gorgeous, leafy and green and right beside a beautiful beach. The rooms were large and spotless and there was a lovely seating area outside as well. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times and the food and service were excellent. There was a small pool next to our room which we had to ourselves, there is also a bigger pool next to the beach. There is a small private beach with very comfortable sun beds. I really have to compliment all of the staff (at reception, housekeeping, in the restaurant and at the beach), they were so friendly and helpful!
Cons: Nothing except having to leave!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just beautiful - direct access to the beach and in keeping with Swahili architectural traditions, perfect pool too also by the beach
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The resort is very nice & green! The SPA is amazing and Victoria is very knowledgable masseuse. The Staff is very supportive, helpfull and always available. I was in low season nevertheless the restaurant had the whole menu card avbailable and food was tasty and fresh. Pool bar is nice and they make good coctails. Beach is really nice in front of the Hotel and the swahili style beds at the hotel beach are heaven. The access to the Malindi marine park is just 10 minutes walk on the beach, in low tide (or tuk-tuk for 100 KES = 1 $) where you can negotiate directyly with the captain & boat owners. Resort is very clean and it must be amazing when all swimming pools are working. The outdoors lounges area at the rooms are superb so you just dive in the sea of cussions.
Cons: Restaurant is a bit overpriced for seafood, the daily menu is good value for the money. You always need the anti-musquito sparay! The anoying thing is the beach boys and other locals constantly calling you from the beach to sell something (overcharging!). The visit to Malindi is not impressive and who ever takes you (moto, taxi or tuk-tuk) will bring you not where you acctually want to go, but to the local Tourist market to get some additional tips from the shop owners. Generally all tour packages are overcharged, so try to make your own tour as everything is in maximum 20-30 minutes drive (even Watamu).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Spa...the services are awesome and worthy every penny. The staff are very warm and courteous.
Cons: Black out for a whole day.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Food offering needs to be improved. Menu weak, no coffee & tea in the room
4.5 Okay
Pros: Nice staff
Cons: No WIFI at all. The food is bad, the fruits is not fresh. No variety. Very overrated
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms, location, staff
Cons: The food was really not good. There was very little choice and it took ages for the food to arrive

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room was nice and clean, the villa is in enclosed safe area and the stuff is friendly and helpful.
Cons: It's a bit far from the Malindi town and the windows in the bathroom can't be fully covered so one feels like people from outside can see him showering.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: clean, serene, the people are great. Thanks Givani, steve and faith. It was home away from home. I’ll be back soon
Cons: Nothing
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: The shower and toilet did't work. There were no WIFI as stated in Hotel.com. We wanted to leave after the first night and they wanted us to pau the full amount for 5 days. We argued about that for one hour until they accepted half price. But stille that was far to much for a very bad room. The owner by the way is a very non polite person.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The atmosphere in general was very relaxed and friendly.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet environment, lots of common spaces including the pool, air conditioning
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is just a little corner of paradise. Such amazing good value for the money. Cannot wait to come back
Cons: Actually... that was perfect
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Private, quiet place for a holiday. Nice, friendly and helpful staff. If you have older children (teenagers), then over 2m deep swimming pool is perfect for them to jump in :) We enjoyed a lot. And lovely and very nice garden, a lot of different plants. Pergolas and many sitting places to stay in a shade. You have to consider 6-7 min walk to get to seaside, but it's OK. To the town and back, tuk-tuks you can get easily from the main road (150 m). And for swimming Marine Park beach is perfect (5 min by tuk-tuk).
Cons: Breakfast is nice, but exactly the same every morning and dinner was available only, if you pre-ordered. At the same time one can find several eating places nearby.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The facilities were generally good, the swimming pool was warm all through and very clean.
Cons: The food especially breakfast has no variety at all; It's the same every day nothing to look forward to at all. They should include at least a signature dish during breakfast like traditional coastal dishes....Some biryani and coconut dishes would be excellent during lunch or dinner.

Cons: Restrictions not to use the pool at night.
8.3 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great pool for children in the new area
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The all inclusive package was brilliant! Animation team was also on point
Cons: On arrival we paid the amount displayed on booking.com, and no complain was made as we were given a receipt as well. On the day of check out we were asked to pay extra because the dollar rate had gone up, this was a negative display because there was no prior notification. On top of that, you are not alerted when your package is over during the last day but you are just served with a cheque later during check out. Maybe just improve on communication.
7.4 Good
Pros: I really enjoyed our stay. However, having also visited resort south ( Diani), I found the beach left a lot to be desired. The resort is a good place to stay if your are interested in just the resort and doing nothing else. If you want to spend more time on the beach or I. The ocean, I would go somewhere else.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome breakfast with fantastic restaurant staff, always available to serve . Spacious modern rooms with classic swahili furniture. Bathroom was spacious Well equipped with modern facilities Excellent room service Quiet place Option to sample hotel next door meals giving a warm neighbourhood feel Value for money Location, near Malindi airport

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great staff especially those in the kitchen/dining area. Amazing accommodation facilities, great swimming pool and stunning views.
Cons: The All inclusive package had only a few local 'male' beers on the alcoholic menu. No pro-female beers or alcohol in this package.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and went the extra mile to make sure i felt at home
Cons: the wifi in my room was not working but it was working in the open areas
6.3 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, good food.
Cons: Beach not ideal, generally property quite old.
7.0 Good
Cons: we were served dinner yesterday with maggots in the vegetables. verrr disgusted
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff were absolutely amazing! Now I am generally poor with names but I came out of Dreams of Africa with a list of names to remember. Chef Ali, Doctor, Maryanne, Denice, Constance, Raphael, Yvonne. They were the stand outs for me. It was nice talking to them and getting to know their stories. They may be the sole reason why I would go back to Dreams of Africa.
Cons: There's too much confusion at the hotel. The reception gives you half info, doesn't communicate to the house keeping staff (our welcome basket was removed even before we had settled down!). The Jacuzzi in our room didn't work and by the time we left, hadn't been repaired. The WiFi was down till the last day of our stay. The hotel itself needs care, termites are eating away at the wooden barriers in the restaurant, the faucets are old and chipped. To be honest, if it isn't for the waiting staff, I wouldn't go back to this place ever again. It wasn't a relaxing experience for me.
Sandies Tropical Village - Malindi - Building

8.6 Excellent (373 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Sandies Tropical Village in Malindi, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Malindi Beach and Silversands Beach. Featured amenities include multilingual staff and luggage storage.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Area was well designed, clean and beautiful, staff was heplful and friendly.
Cons: Bed was too tough and air conditioner didn't work sufficiently - temperature was too high although we put it on the lowest level.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and competent staff, extremely helpful yet never intrusive. James in F&B department was my favourite one..
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The spa! The friendliness of the restaurant staff (apart from the chef). The pools. The A/C.
Cons: Overall this was quite a miserable experience. We arrived excited only for the guard to shout rudely at our external taxi driver as he didn't know where to park. On check-in, we were given quite a very room smelling disgustingly of urine and after some rude dismissals by the reception staff, I spoke with booking.com customer service, which managed to convince the managerial staff and we were given a better room. Thank you booking.com customer service, we were actually very ready to leave at the time. They said the room was foul-smelling because of a wedding party. (??) I had read lovely reviews of the chef on trip advisor, a large number of reviews saying he can make lovely food requested even with short notice so I thought not to bother him early in advance. When we arrived, we informed him we were vegan and very open to whatever he could make. He said there's a pasta station in every meal so we mostly had that for dinner every day. On only one afternoon he specifically came to ask us what we would like to eat and that was apparently only because there was another family he had been tending to that needed the same requirements for that mealtime. The next day he said 'oh thank god you aren't having lunch with us' and breathed a huge sigh of relief, after which he never asked us our plans nor our ideas for meals. Which we found rude considering he was doing so for all the other families. I really do not want to pull the racism card here but there is something really fishy going on with him. He was so so rude to us till the point where my mother didn't even want to come down for dinner (for what? just pasta for the umpteenth time? to look at the rude chef?) Chef Ayaz, please treat all your guests the same. Many towels have stains.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The chef went out of his way to make sure we were catered for (thank you Ayaz). We had an amazing time and it was a lovely hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were absolutely amazing. Chef Ayaz and his team made sure that all our culinary expectations were exceeded. The Christmas and News Year's dinners were of the highest quality, variety and presentation. All the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and part of the family. The rooms were spacious and clean. Our kids loved spending their time in the rooms and especially the BIG beds. Pools were amazing - we spent all our time there. Management went out of their way with all guest to make them feel welcome and taken care of. A huge shout-out to Vincent the pool barman, he was a real gentleman and takes care of everyone.
Cons: Main pool is very deep - for families with young children. But the life guards were very attentive at all times. No fault of the hotel - but due to rainy season the river came down and the water was brown and full of seaweed - thus we could not swim in the sea. Spa treatments are not 5* but the prices made it worthwhile and it gives you some time just to relax away from the kids. Take note there are no televisions in the rooms. WiFi in the rooms and around the public areas was frustratingly bad - it needs an update urgently.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The snorkling was amazing because we saw 2 sea tortoises but also the food was fantastic. From day 1 till the end of day 6 all 3 meals were the best I've ever had and the staff were all so kind but it was like they really meant everything they said. Also the entertainment staff were brilliant and filled in the gaps where we had nothing to do. Great setting and to receive a surprise private meal on the beach after I'd proposed to my girlfriend by the restaurant staff with a bottle of champagne for free it was like they were celebrating with us. Will definitely come back thank you so much Tropical.
Cons: The location on the beach wasn't the best because the beach was always full of seaweed but nonetheless there were areas to go and find starfish along the coral on a low tide also not far from the marine park to go snorkling which I strongly advise to do as we saw 2 sea tortoises. Also 18km from watamu beach which is breathtakingly beautiful!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The politeness and service of all staff. The food was delicious and the surroundings were beautiful. It was paradise. I would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone.
Cons: A tv in my room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very Nice Food. Comfortable bed which was very big and very spacious room.
Cons: wifi at times not very strong
6.8 Good
Pros: On the beach which was lovely, and the dream pool was very nice. The gala dinner was very good and the staff were mostly very friendly, especially the senior staff.
Cons: The heckling and hassling from the public side of the beach was horrible; the main pool was very tired; some of the staff were over friendly; pool staff didn't seem to realise that the hotel was there for the benefit of the guests and not the staff!! Food when the hotel wasn't full was grim. After the first night I asked for a softer mattress as I woke up with very sore back and neck, and was told I would get one, but it never showed. Finally, it seemed that bar staff spent more time OUT of their bars collecting things than serving drinks in the bars. Nit picking by a former hotel owner....
5.5 Okay
Pros: Staff + food were nice
Cons: Room was very unclean and had an awful smell of wetsuits. Had mould all over the mirror and shower head was dirty

Pros: The rooms were really nice and clean. The views were amazing. The pools were perfect! Everyone around was really jolly. Bernard is an amazing host and was brilliant throughout. He was quick to respond to any queries we had and made sure we knew the best places to visit around

Cons: Nothing
6.8 Good
Pros: The location is good. Near most of the areas you need to visit. Bernard was a good host and very helpful. The pool was clean as well.
Cons: The mosquito nets are not useful because there are large gaps that remain uncovered. My son is full of mosquito bites because the net did not help!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really loved the place. The environment was so serene. The rooms were clean, the staff was really friendly. Bernard was an excellent host. The beach was a 3-5 minute walk away. Value for money. The only thing that would make it better is having WI-FI in the suites. WI-FI and a water dispenser .
Cons: Nothing. Everything was perfect.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, great pool overlooking the beach, very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Spacious room with good bathroom.
Cons: The place is very big with lots of ‘art’ in big halls. When there are not many guests it feels a bit sinister in the evening. Restaurant menu is uninspired and not interesting. We went nextdoor for dinner.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location is great. But poor service and ovepriced.
Cons: Food menu.
6.3 Good
Pros: Very nice location. Spacious apartment. The 2 Male waiters were a gem. Always ready to help.
Cons: The apartment was threadbare. Not much taking care of the grounds: the fish in the aquariums were even dying as we watched due to lack of care. Their breakfast, the most important meal of the day was carppy: only protein was a boiled egg and you had to order and wait for other proteins. No heated water. Not needed in Mombasa, but children like warm bath water.

The staff is friendly and welcoming. Most importantly, the management takes cognizance of and celebrates special occasions with guests in a great way. The villas offer a lot of privacy too. The beach is beautiful and the restaurant is perfectly located.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The staff were helpful.
Cons: The hotel/villas are not a beach front as indicated, the staff had to get you transport to the beach. The room wasn't well maintained, the shower cubicle was flooding and the toilet stained. They also don't have a vegetarian friendly menu and their buffet didn't have variety and wasn't well done.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: My brother and I enjoyed the peace and quiet the resort provided. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the rooms were kept clean not to mention how spacious it was especially at the lounge area outside each room, it offered privacy for each guest. Loved the evening performance from the local talents. The fan and AC helped in maintaining comfort in the rooms as malindi gets quite hot.
Cons: The evening buffet was underwhelming as it lacked variety, the food available was however delicious. The kitchen needs to be a bit more organized though, on two occasions we went to have our meal and found some menu items depleted, which meant they didn't account for all guests or under budgeted for it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The quiet, relaxing conducive environment.
Cons: wifi access in the rooms

Cons: There was nothing to complain (in 11-nights).

Pros: The owner was an amaizing host. Always quick to help and a great person to converse with. My room was spotless clean and the staff great company. The hotel is a few meters from malindi town and close to all social enemities. I would recommend this hotel to anyone out there. I have had horrid hotel experiences in Malindi. But Le Chateau gave me my best experience in Malindi.

Pros: I liked literally everything. This Lady Janet is the most kind and soo welcoming you will find. She talks soo nicely to people and she is soo professional when handling clients. Have you tasted her culinary arts? My goodness. It's the most delicious meal you will experience from her skills. If you are looking for that cool, spectacular design, exemplary clean and spacious place which is commensurate to the value of your money, then look no further because this is the exact place you need. I will opt for this place over and over for as long as I plan my holidays. Janet God bless your golden heart. Am returning soon before it's fully booked
Cons: I liked everything

Pros: The property is absolutely stunning. It is like being in an African Elle home magazine.
Cons: Firstly Janet the owner is such a warm hospitable host. And will bend over backwards to make sure you enjoy your stay. Secondly the location it is very peaceful and set in beautiful grounds. The hotel is furnished beautifully. This would suit solo travelers or large groups.

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Janet and her family were super hosts. I so appreciate her allowing me to check in past midnight and check out very early in the morning. The breakfast she cooked was incredible. The rooms are very spacious and have some beautiful interiors. I had a minor issue with water and mosquitoes but Janet called a technician right away to fix the water and she was also swift in getting rid of all the mosquitoes with a spray. The housekeeping and security staff are very reliable and friendly. Overall, I had a blast sharing many great conversations and laughs with Janet and her daughter. The place is truly magical and the right fit for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Can’t wait to be back!
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The furniture and setting of the place is lovely
Cons: I preferred to be alone and rest. I found that the Manager was a bit too around the place which disrupted my much coveted alone time. But, no complaint she was quite nice.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was very spacy for our two families of 7. Plenty of space for relaxing and eating with a huge first floor verandah. There were hardly any other guests so we had the large swimming pool and garden to ourselves.
Cons: The ocean was very rough with large waves which did not invite us to swim in it. It was difficult to find the place since there was no sign board along the main road and we got lost twice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful stay.mitsanze , teresia, nashon and Hassan made our stay exceptional.definately the place to be...
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The place is right by the beach and has great beach access and views. The rooms are well done, very spacious, comfortable and clean. The balconies are also huge. The staff are always willing to help and attend to your needs. The location is good if you want to be out of busy Malindi for more peace and quiet but is within reach (about 20 minutes drive) if you want to explore the town.

Pros: Restaurant staff was really nice and friendly. Pool area is beautiful. Villas are nice.
Cons: Bed was really hard and there were no tvs in the rooms. Nothing else near the resort.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Design om the houses/hotel area.
Cons: Bed too hard, no TV in the room, no gym
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very attentive. When we needed antibiotics, the staff called a staff member who was in the nearby town and arranged for them to be collected and delivered to us. The food and bar service were all excellent. The pool area and gardens are vert attractive. The beach vehicle, available for hire, was fun.
Cons: Very little!
6.8 Good
Pros: Service from staff was good. Location is nice and secluded.
Cons: We’d revived confirmation via email that a crib would be provided for our one year old. There was no crib and she slept on a mattress on the floor the first night. The crib we eventually got had broken parts. Also, the curtains and mosquito nets were very very dusty. They should have been washed before our arrival. The buffet food was mediocre.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff. We felt like we were with friends. Had just enough privacy to unwind. But also wonderful activities. Fantastic remote beach. Love it!
Cons: Bedding could be fumigated before visitors arrive. Lots of crawlies...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: 1. Lovely food 2. Warm hospitality 3. Very nice facilities 4. Clean n tiddy
Cons: Just a few things to review 1. Lighting system in the room. Lights kept on goin off at sometime. 2. If something can be done about the insects, especially the black ants. In the rooms and in the 2 other swimming pools (not the one near the restaurant). 3. Would prefer little consideration of having a bidet pipe in the toilet/bathrooms as not all are using the tissue culture.
