Pros: Quiet, great host, great food
Pros: Room was very clean and beautifully decorated. Many special little touches.
Pros: We have liked the stay very much - "posada" is a perfect starting point for trips in Parque Natural de Arribes del Duero. Property owner's care was exceptional and all recommendations for trip's destinations and for restaurants were priceless.
With a stay at Dos Aguas Arribes in Fermoselle, you'll be just steps from Arribes del Duero Natural Park and Church of Our Lady of the Assumption. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.
Pros: Beautifully presented accommodation. Everything you would need for a very comfortable stay. Ana is extremely helpful and goes out of her way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. She loves to share her knowledge of the area. Nice restaurants just round the corner but also a modern kitchen available if needed. We would wholeheartedly recommend a stay here.
Pros: It was such a pleasure to be on the receiving end of so much help and kindness from the owner, Ana. She helped us plan our onward route, showed us Fermoselle - together with a kind local man - Felix (we now know what a "palomar" is), showed us the exciting caverns below the hotel & treated us to a coffee in a nearby restaurant (Restaurant Medieval - where we had our evening meal later). I have seldom met such a spontaneously warm person, we will miss Ana. Communication was in broken English and Spanish aided by Google translate whenever we got stuck. Fermoselle is a place worth visiting. Don't miss seeing the nearby high dam of Almendra on the Tormes River.
Cons: We wish we could have stayed longer than one night. The only negative - and this didn't apply to us as we had a small car (Smart car) and it was very much off-season - was that parking could be difficult. The streets are very narrow and, sometimes, steep.
Pros: Clean and comfortable. Beautiful location. Friendly staff.
Cons: Difficult to find. Felt a bit pushed by host to go on excursions.
Pros: Kind reception, comfortable room, good breakfast
Pros: Anna treat us as family since the first second we meet her. We were four friends and stay one night at her place. She prepared an amazing and huge breakfast in the morning, all the ingredients from her farm and shop! She also suggested us rutes for hiking around the national park and in Porto too. We could not be better. Thanks for having us!!
With a stay at Posada Real La Mula de los Arribes in Villardiegua de la Ribera, you'll be just steps from Arribes del Duero Natural Park and Church of Villardiegua de la Ribera. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Balcony.
Cons: A lot of dog barking in the village. Lack of air con. in the bedroom meant that we had to keep the door leading to the balcony open so the dog barking was an issue.
Pros: A true gem in the Spanish countryside. Our hosts, Andreas and Manuela, were simply lovely people and very eager to make us feel right at home. Andreas provided wonderful guidance for touring the local area and led us to a vantage point for a breathtaking view of the cliffs and river separating Spain and Portugal. Manuela is charming and a marvelous chef. She provided a very memorable Spanish country dining experience. Simply marvelous!
Cons: I only wish our Spanish was better so we could have more easily explained what a great time we were having.
Pros: Manuela and Andres welcomed us into their home and took great care of us! The food that Manuela prepared for our dinner was outstanding. We slept in, it was just that comfortable and the breakfast was yummy. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Pros: We had a beautiful stay in this cozy posada. The owners, Manuela and Andres really made everything to make our time enjoyable. Manuela treated us with her self-made cakes and wonderful dinner and with Andres, we enjoyed drinking and talking about wine. The rooms were lovely and very clean. Both were very helpful to get tours arranged. And we felt like being part of the family! Thank you again Manuela and Andres!
Cons: We were prepared and we were looking for it. So no complaint at all! Just make yourself clear that this is in the middle of nowhere. If you look for this for a few days, this is the place to be! And then you will be surprised how much you actually can do!
Pros: The hosts are delightful and speak a little English. We managed to make ourselves understood. There was an enclosed courtyard where we could store car and motorbikes. A great place for anyone doing the TET
Cons: I liked everything. There is nothing to dislike
Pros: The owners were so welcoming and their hospitality was excellent. The food was fresh, home cooked and very tasty. This is a rustic rural hotel which we enjoyed immensely.
Cons: The shower could have been a little more powerful.
Pros: The hospitality of the owners was wonderful. They went out of their way to give us information, even taking us into Portugal, so we could get a river cruise. The evening meal was wonderful quality.
Cons: enjoyed it all
Pros: The hosts were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. They couldn’t do any more to make us feel welcome. The food was really nice and we would like to at some point return.
Pros: Great location (sleepy farmhouse village) in national park. Great welcome, olde world environment that is littered with very nice interior design extras. Evening meal & breakfast were both excellent with fresh local produce and all home cooked. The hosts couldn't do enough for us. Definite recommended stay with good parking thrown in to the bargain.

Pros: Everything, the house was just beautiful and nicely done, the area was also beautiful ,would have loved to have stayed longer, ,The breakfast was excellent most of it homemade, the homemade almond sponge was gorgeous, The host was a delight and so friendly and welcoming, even if we couldn't understand each other that well
Cons: There wasn't anything
Pros: Recently modernised , very tasteful interior. Lovely host.
Cons: Parking the motorcycle was easy, a car might be tricky.
Pros: Very clean and comfortable, with a modern shower room. Our hostess was very efficient and friendly. Excellent value for money.
Pros: The town was a joy. Full of narrow, medieval cobbled streets. The views across the Doura were fantastic and the villagers warm and friendly. There were activities and dancing in the Plaza Mayor on both days of our stay. Our host was fantastic. She spoke no english but her son had a good grasp. She went out of her way to ensure all our needs were met. Breakfast was simple but of a very high quality. She gave us a personal tour of the neolithic caves and provided a history of the town. The pride she displayed in her town was clear and was genuine and not at all tinged with any sense of superiority. She even provided some helpful medical advice. Even though our Spanish was limited we managed to communicate. We loved her!!!
Cons: The property is fine for smaller animals but not so larger dogs. The communal lounge and the close proximity of the rooms to one another mean any other guests anxious about being in the company of larger dogs proves problematic. We chose to keep our dog in our room when in the house. Perhaps stipulating 'better suited to small dogs' would avoid any difficulty.
Pros: Senora, the owner, was the epitome of a gracious hostess. I cannot praise her too highly. We were unable to share a language, but it did not matter. The breakfast was generous and delicious. If you stay in Fermoselle, try to stay here. Restaurante Espana round the corner was good.
Cons: Finding the hostal was quite an effort without sat nav, the town is complex. Also, it was not clear to me that I had to phone the owner to get her to arrive, until a very kind neighbour pointed it out to me.

Pros: Small village but hotel and the village square were delightful. The streets were interesting to walk through and restaurants were lovely.
Pros: Everything was fine. Nice room, better than the ones in the four stars, clean and finely furbished. Nice staff.
Pros: We liked everything. The location is perfect with lots of Miradores with awesome views of the Duro from high vantage points within an easy drive of the hotel. The local town centre - medieval Fermoselle -is a few minutes walk away. The staff are helpful, friendly and attentive. The owner was a great hostess. She went around every table checking on and joking with the guests. She has a lovely personality. The food was great each evening and the restaurant had plenty of atmosphere. Our room was spacious clean and had everything we needed. The terrace has a superb view and we had a drink there each evening watching the sunset. A great hotel well deserving of a 10 rating.
Cons: Everything was great
Pros: Extremely comfortable and welcoming. The owner even gave us a lift into town as it was raining and loaned us an umbrella for the walk back.
Pros: A good dinnr and breakfast. Just 500m from the town centre. We got a very warm welcome..
Cons: Everything was OK.
Pros: Very friendly owner lovely food in the restaurant No expense spared on conversion of the property The best hotel we stayed at on our trip :)

With a stay at Antiguo Casino de los Arribes in Fermoselle, you'll be just steps from Arribes del Duero Natural Park and Church of Our Lady of the Assumption. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, luggage storage, and an elevator.
Pros: Clean, spacious. Kitchen. City center.
Cons: Noise issues (surprisingly in such a small town). People hang out all night in the bar beneath the windows. The town clock strikes every half an hour (Yes, this special medieval note...) The only option is to shut the windows and listen to a rather loud AC instead...
Pros: Location in the centre of the village
Cons: There was only tapas available anywhere in the town unless you had prebooked a meal. When you only have two nights in the village this is not always possible.
With a stay at Hotel Rural La Enoteca del Marqués in Fermoselle, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Arribes del Duero Natural Park and Deputation Square.
